little birds are great, save for one little thing

Recommended Posts

So me and a friend were buzzing around, we come to see a military off-road right below us. In a moment of wiseness, my pal chutes out to investigate, at the same time, a series of beeps eminate from the control panel. I notice that my parts have gone red, I also notice my engine has ceased to function, sending me plummeting to earth. By an act of the Dayz gods, I survive, beat to heck but alive.

Moral of the story, don't parachute from a little bird, you will totally bone the pilot. -,-'

Yikes. One time glitch or has anyone else had this happen too?

With the maneuverability of a LB why would you want to parachute when you can land them exactly where you want?

Quicker and safer, why else?

From the title I thought your helicopter hit a flying bird entity (animal) and it caused all your parts to break.

According to other players in side chat, yup, the chute can mess with the rotor, and in this case, it did.

Not arguing with your story at all, just adding that my friends and I jump out of them all the time and have never had that problem. So it is not a for sure universal problem.

It probably has something to do with how fast you are moving when you eject, just a guess but I've seen that cause issues with planes and other helos before.

We were pretty much stationary.

You can find little birds in DayZ?

it is a private hive. if the owner want. he cuold put F-35 spawns in

It does not have to be a private hive, In current dayz ver. little bird is unbanned, check the change log..

Can't find any anywhere tho

One place that I've found it is in one of the hangars at the NE Air Base. I've flown it a few times and it's not bad, I just find that the Huey is a lot more stable and easier to fly.

Imagine your buddy jumping out of the helo just to land right on top of your helis windscreen, both pilot and parachuter screaming while the chute twists itself into the rotor followed by an epic and fatal crash

XD

I've had this happen recently in vanilla arma. A friend jumped out of a littlebird, and he exploded as soon as he did, blowing up the littlebird as well.

I love to jump out like a boss to be honest no matter what the situation. Hell you got beat up but it sure looked cool.

The Mi17 is the big badass russian chopper, the little bird is the AH6X, and yes had the same problem, ejected on four occasions and each time its caused damage to the heli.

The other part: It can be shot down by an akm with a couple mags.

It's much more fragile, it can only sustain a couple hits to engine area or tail(rotor). Don't know about shotguns and pistols but any rifle does the trick.
