Atom Quark 437 Posted December 4, 2012 Was playing on Zobgaming private sever when a gps looking box in the bottom of the screen appeared with a man talking in it. After he got done saying somthing a player says "Thanks for your F@#%!@ cd-keys" and I see a players name top of screen cd-key stolen, then I pull my internet cable. Any info on what this was, and can my key be stolen by a script in game or is this just a scare tactic done by some lame ass scripter?
rooneye 135 Posted December 4, 2012 Scare tactic, pretty sure they cant get your CD key without you downloading or clicking on something you really shouldnt have. If you havent then I wouldnt worry :)
major.skrewup@gmail.com 177 Posted December 4, 2012 (edited) I dont see any reason why your cd key cant be stolen by someone who knows what there doing. if the server/battle eye can read it why cant some nifty cunt although I dont actually know if it can be done I'm just not sure why it couldn't be done. crusader_111 62 Posted December 4, 2012 (edited) No they can not steal it with scripts as the only thing BattlEye and what they would is your unique GUID number, This number is a Hash of your CD-Key which can not be reverse. A Hash is a algorithm designed to certain things depending on what you want it for, in this case its security, as its unique algorithm takes your CD-Key, 'Hashes' it and produces a unique number/code linked to your CD-Key but they can never trace back to get your CD-Key or find it, its just so BE and the game knows you have a Valid CD-Key without actually revealing it. SO long story sort it can not be stolen over online play in a server from script kiddies. Edited December 4, 2012 by CRUSADER_111

fruitceiz 0 Posted December 5, 2012 There were same kind of thing at the AWA private hive (namalsk) yesterday.,First happened that box thing, then came ad to site "where to get hacks" which blanked almost half of ur game... Then was the text "CD-Keys stolen succeffully, thank you"... Someone started to argue with that hacker about that he cant steal cd-keys through online game, Then the hacker typed that guys cd-key and according to that player, it was the right one o.o? OrLoK 16185 Posted December 5, 2012 hello thereAt the moment all evidence is unconfirmed heresay. Always be vigilant and wary, but most likely just scripters messing with you.If you are concerned you can always try to play on whitelisted servers or those that have 24/7 admins etc.RgdsLoK

dallas 5195 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) You did the very best thing you could do, disconnect from the server and asked for advice on the official site. Edited December 5, 2012 by Dallas

Someone started to argue with that hacker about that he cant steal cd-keys through online game, Then the hacker typed that guys cd-key and according to that player, it was the right one o.o?Probably working together to spook the whole server, there is absoluetly no way a scripter can get your CD-Key through online play, if he/she gets you to download something externally from the game and makes you run it then they would be able to steal your CD-Key from your Registry, But from Online, even with scripts they can not access your systems Registry to get a hold of the CD-Key and your GUID is a Hash of your CD-Key which 100% can not be reversed. As long as you don't download and run something externally from them or something else dodgy aiming for your CD-Key they you are COMPLETELY safe, end of.
