Realism Mechanics

This may or may not have been shown before, but the search function didn't show anything about it, so here you go:

Gun Mechanics:

Say you have a AS50-SD. And you want to get a m16-SD. With a new item, the gun-crafter's kit, you can remove the silencer from the AS50, and put it on the m16. There is a risk of breaking the silencer (Lower depending on how long you have been alive). For example, a newspawn would have around a 25% chance to switch a silencer from your trusty AS50 to the M16, while at 30 days alive, it would cap at 90%.

Traps

Sick of some bandit scum? This will help. There are multiple kinds of traps. All traps can only be set off by zombies, except for the pitfall.

Semi-Lethal: Barbed wire, for example. This class either restricts movement into a certain area, or weakens an ability of the target. Bear traps are good examples of this. Minor damage, and restricts movement. Here would be some other traps: Caltrops(Spikes, good for popping tires, but can hurt infantry.); Stun Mines(Like a flashbang, although inside a mine, Makes a large flash, blinding and slowing the victim, and aggroing any zombies within 50M.),and Pitfalls(Self explanatory; You fall into a pit, disabling movement until you can get out).

Lethal: IED(15M detonation range, when triggered will blow up anything within 25M, and send burning shrapnel up to 50M in all directions. Being within 10M of the blast is an instantaneous death), Gas trap(5M detonation range, when triggered will send out a gas cloud in two editions: Smoke and Poison. Smoke is a stronger smoke grenade, Poison will send out a toxic gas within 50M, which is removed after 5 minutes. Does 50 blood a second, and over 15 seconds of exposure will poison you, dealing a further 25 blood per second until an antidote is acquired.), and Jammers(When planted on a car, you will be able to destroy a certain function of the car, and it will need to be repaired. These parts include: Rotors, Engines, Brakes, Gas pedals, Gear Switches, and Gunner seats. Two jammers will destroy all functions. If any crucial part is damaged, the target will have to eject to avoid death by explosion. If the jammer is planted on an engine, or gas tank, it will assplodinate the vehicle, causing instant death to anyone within 25M, and will knock anyone within 50M unconscious for about 20 seconds. This can be used to make a "Kamikaze jeep". Imaging having your recent killer gloating on the mic about his spoils, only to find his brakes are destroyed, and plummets 350 feet off a cliff into kamenka.

Nonlethal:

Radar Trap(When stepped on, emits a strong sound which can be hear by zombies and humans for up to 200M.), and "Earthquake" mines(When triggered, shakes the ground for 50M around, making it hard to move. Has a 10M detonation zone (Anyone within 10 meters of it will set it off), and Pitfalls(Self explanatory; You fall into a pit, disabling movement until you can get out).

These are my ideas. Criticize if you find the need to, but nothing too hard on me.

I am not so sure how some of these suggestions are realistic. Especially earthquake mines and silencers being interchanged between two barrels of way different proportions.

Whats with all the trolls? If your a bandit in DayZ then thats your choice, but don't be a fucking d-bag on forums. I like the idea of IED's or mines (trip or pressure).

I am not so sure how some of these suggestions are realistic. Especially earthquake mines and silencers being interchanged between two barrels of way different proportions.

They are used in modern combat.

Like I said, there is a chance of the silencer failing to attach, based on the calibre, and your past experience.

Traps - always a good thing.

We need more ways to booby trap areas, and i am not talking about griefing. If i am being shadowed by a douche bandit i would love to be able to drop a land mine in the hope he walks over it.

Yeah. It was an example. I forgot to mention that they would apply to a certain caliber of gun.

i like the longer you are alive the more success you will have doing something.

making surviving a long time more critical.
