first and last time playing Celle

Recommended Posts

So I spawned into a Celle server expecting a great new DayZ map, and I immediately got shot before I could even see my character. this reapeated about 3 or 4 times, so I assumed the server was full of douchers, so I tried a few others. Had the same experience on every single one. All I know so far is that I spawn next to a river. The farthest I got was taking about 10 steps.

Looks like It's back to Panthera for me

Come play on my private server..

We're all friendly and we will be happy to help you get geared up and find a vehicle.

Just search for "Nameless" in DayZ commander, the server is called "Live or Die"

i didnt get shot upon spawning, but i did run and run and run, and never really find any decent sized towns or loot spawns.

it was more of a forest running sim. then anything..

i rank this map equal to Fallujah for Yawn factor.

its a nice map with german setting, a bit boring because noone else was playing it (was a few days back when there were only a few servers up)

we had no trouble finding loot however. it's not the exactly the biggest map out there.

Have yet to indulge in its offerings still freezing my balls off in Namalsk hidding under the Tara Bridge like a bum asking people for change on direct chat as they pass through.

It's a great map, wonderful for lots of gaming styles, I was getting to the point of waiting for the SA, then this map popped up on DC and I was dragged back into the wonderful world of DayZ all over again.

I have never been shot on Log in ever on this map, maybe there was a day release of Jehovas Whitnesses on day release wanted you to meet your maker on the day you were playing.

New enterable buildings add so much, garages in a game you can use to hide and instigate offensives from are wonderful. the lack of HIGH loot military gear is a nice slant to the experience, lots of players with Enfields evens the place out a bit!

I do agree a massive city wouldn't go amiss in this map, but apart from that this map is worth checking out.

Its a nice map, just poorly made via spawn points.

first time I played, found 3 G36 SD (they are legal in this map) at a heli crash 5mins run from my spawn. Only for the server to crash and I lost it.

Tried another server, found 2 heli crashs near Celle, 1 had 2 DMRs and an FN FAL, the other had a load of assault rifles and an Empty M29

Ive encountered at least 1 heli crash site each time ive played, all within the first 10-15mins

Every player ive encountered has been armed with mediem or high level weapons from the start as they are stupidly easy to find, heli crashes spawning right near all the spawn points is a joke, there is no challenge in this map, it just gives you everything from the word go

I just discovered the Artillery firing ranges, wow sniper practice heaven, and the luminous golf is worthy of shooting practice. The pubs make a nice base.

Its massive but there are enough villages and towns spread out all over. I must be getting my wires crossed with other players here as there is loads to do.

The map is a PVP map. Nothing more.

People say that about every new map. Please explain how it is a PVP map.

It's the same size as Chernarus, there's lots of really small towns to loot, there's a reasonable amount of military spawns around buy not a ridiculous amount.

no. this IS A PVP MAP

I've been able to make friends with people on every other map. The other day on lingor, I rolled with another guy for a while and gave him my SAW upon leaving. I also just saved a guy's ass on Namalsk, got my ass saved on Chernarus, and worked with 4 other randoms to repair a chinook on Fallujah.

this map is PVP

Every map is Player vs Player. You're going to shoot or get shot eventually, regardless of how many friends you make in between, correct?

Obviously.

There's also the element of Player vs Environment, and Player vs Zombies.

Occasionally Player vs Doors and Stairs.

I've only spawned 2 times as I only died once so far but I didn't have any issues like the OP. First spawn was in Wienhausen & second spawn was in Winsen. I've actually been knocked down to under 3k blood and passing out 3 times on my second attempt at the map 2 times from random fire fights once because I got knocked out by a zed.

So far I'm enjoying the map, I think once you figure out your directions it's pretty enjoyable and loads of cover in the forests. The maps gives you the feeling you could get lost easily.

I like Celle very much! There is a huge amount of residentials for camo and ghillies. You have quite a lot barracks with decent gear and a lot of action on this map. I never have been sniped upon spawn. The OP is just unlucky.

If I had the same experience as the OP id be frustrated as well.

However, I had a totally awesome weekend playing Celle most of the time. Lots of space but also small towns good for fire fights. Also lots of vehicles needing repair so good for team work and meeting new friends.

As the moderator said, every map is PVP.

However, what you describe has nothing to do with Celle, just your varying experiencess on different maps on different servers with different people. You can call some maps more PVP based than others due to certain features, such as Takistan having little cover, but there is nothing about Celle that makes it anymore PVP than other maps.

As to my own opinion, I've been playing Celle for the last week to take a break from Namalsk and I've enjoyed it. Everyone does seem to spawn at one particular point on the river outside the city of Celle but if you can get away from there it can be a fun map. There are unique buildings and zeds plus some unique weapons like the G36. I've found numerous heli crashes and repaired a few vehicles. It's a nice change of pace.

Try joining an underpopulated server and exploring for a bit.
