Can't talk in global

Hello!

Well, my problem is that i can't talk in global communication.. And that's a big problem because everyone is communicating with that channel..

When i switch between the channels i get "direct-, vehicle- and group communication"

So does anyone have the same problem or can someone help?

Good for you that you took the time to post about your problem. But honestly, if you'd invested that time in a quick board search or just looked at the f*cking STICKIES(!), you would have already found the answer you're looking for.

This is a game/beta update that was introduced a few versions ago.

Servers using 1.7.0 and latest beta will not have global chat.

Some people who are not running the beta build may still be able to use the blue chat.

This will disappear (I believe) with the next DayZ build.

@Lynx, instead of being so agressive, why do you not simply tell him why or just help him.

Anyway, you're probably right. I'm sorry for my rudeness. It's just that the clearness of this board has deteriorated a lot lately, don't you think? Just look at all that spam and crossposting in the announcements threads. The "1.7.1 Details" thread is less than five days old and has over 1000 replies. It takes ages to dig for important information sometimes. And opening up threads like this, when there's already a sticky concerning the subject, can't be in your best interest, either.

to be fair, yes, the sticky is there but it's more confusing then anything.after reading it last week i was still convinced i was missing some sort of beta build or something before reading this thread.

somebody should fix that sticky and plainly write: "Global chat was removed in the latest patches and only those that are still playing with old version of the game are still able to use it."

not sure why you need all that other info.

Hello guys.

I'm really sorry for not searching on this before i posted. I made this post after 5 minutes of my first gameplay, so i'm pretty new..

But i'm not sure if people heard me when i talked to them in direct either..

You see i met two guys who kept asking me in global chat if i was friendly, so i said yes many times in direct communication, but they probably didn't see that. And it couldn't be the distance, since we were just a few meters apart(max 5 meters).

Or is it just that they didn't notice it?
