Need Medical Assistance? We can help.

So, here's a little report on one of my most intense DayZ experiences so far, from a patients point of view. And, guys, I've been way too close to the edge this time... Warning: wall of text incoming...

Is there anyone available in the SW area (Zelenogorsk)? My condition is critical, 1,5k blood, still dropping, and I'm unconscious. Add me on steam or let me know how to contact you (altough I'd prefer steam over skype). / I'm good now. thanks vae and gordon!

Yeah, again, sorry for our sudden departure, but we both felt very uneasy there in the open, 200m away from the coast... I'm close to Zelenogorsk atm. Add me on steam, so we can arrange a meeting.

No problem, all you have to do is to respond to my steam invite. /edit well, trooper was faster...

I'm just ~2km away from you. Unfortunately, there seems to be problems with steam search engine today, and I can't add you right now. Try my steam profile link (see opening post or my forum profile) instead.

If you're willing to move north, away from the airstrip, then we could arrange a meeting. Contact me on steam if you're interested.

Just my 2c to this whole shard-RMG discussion: No, let's stop right here for a second.I'd like to ask you and everyone else on this board never to use this font color again. Try it yourself, proper quoting becomes a pain in the ass! Ahh... much better. Let's continue. Pretty rude attitude right from the start. This does not bode well... Honestly, that might be connected to the fact that you've requested help in high risk areas all the time (Cherno - hospital, southern military base, control tower on NW airfield). "One does not simply" help others in those areas. Be polite and have some patience - worked for everyone else here, too. Now, here comes the part that really eludes me: and... @Brian: Was this originally posted in blue, or did you intentionally color like this to point out how weird this request is? Anyway, shard, you should know by now that this is not how we work. We usually won't join your server - you come to ours. Also, if your server is empty most of the time, then why don't you just walk/crawl away from the high risk zone? Who should stop you? Zombies? Just shoot them, there are no players around to hear the shots anyway. 1h and 40min between those two quoted posts and you didn't try to pull yourself out of your mess in the meantime, even when the server was "EMPTY. Noboby in it. Literally"? Sounds a bit fishy to me. I'm with RMG on this one. Absolutely. And I bet your tone here is even polite enough for Brian to comply asap. You learn fast young grasshopper. PS: That's pretty much the essence of using quotes, didn't you know? It's a basic feature they share with statistics. sorry for this rather long post TL;DR Be polite, be patient, and no bullshit please. I don't get your point. So your win strategy here is treating people as if this was youtube? I think I won't go out on a limb if I say that the average age of users on this board is essentially higher than among youtube commenters, hence a more polite approach is appropriate.

    A proposal to fellow medics

Great idea, hard to maintain, though. Believe me, for a medic in this game, there's nothing worse than being shot on the way to a waiting patient, and subsequently having to explain to him that you're back on the beach, with no medical supplies at all, unable to help him. Even though every single patient will tell you they understand the situation and they are glad that someone at least tried to get to them, the feeling of failing a patient still sticks to the medic. And it's unbearable. Now, having access to a location that enables us to get back in business right away would be priceless, especially for coastal medics, because they might still finish the job they started. If you plan to elaborate this idea, please don't forget to add binoculars to the generic survival gear. ;)

You're not the only casualty today. "His name was Lynx, it appears he died from a gunshot wound to the head", after 26 days of service...

That just happened to me, sort of. A fellow medic asked me to take care of someone in need of blood transfusion at Green Mountain. When we met, I realized he must have been in a very bad shape, blurry vision, no colors etc. And since he chose an US server with evening ingame time (most other servers kicked him: high ping), he just couldn't see me, even though we stood 30-40m away from each other, and keeps running past me two times. I tried to direct him back to the treeline via direct channel because he started running around in the open then, when he suddenly passed out - out there, in the open, 50-60m away from the treeline, no cover... I prepared my inventory for a quick transfusion and rushed to his collapsed body. And there it was... the distinctive heartbeat sound I heard only few times before. Never in this context though. However, I didn't have the time to judge him - that's not my job anyway - but was rather relieved that he passed out, because I was able to give him the transfusion and get back to cover before he regained consciousness. Sorry if I acted a bit reserved around you (the patient), I just didn't want to take any risks in that situation, no matter what your background story might be. But on a side note: As I said somewhere else before, I think bandits are great! The suspense they add to this mod is priceless.

I sent out steam invites to you two. If possible, I'd like to take care of you in one run. No problem. Just add me on steam when you're back and we'll get you out of the mess you're in.

If you're willing to move out of the military camp, maybe into the woods south of Sobor, then I can help you. Let me know via PM or contact me on steam.

What beta version do you have? I'm close to Nadezhdino atm and might be able to help you. PM me or add me on steam (link in my profile). /edit Also, have you bandaged yourself or are you still bleeding?
  14. Valid point, and vital information that was missing in the opening post. I can understand your decision. At no point did I question that. I know you guys have a pretty darn good resupply system and lots of ressources, and I apologize if my post has offended you in any way (which, apparently, it did). As a matter of fact... no, I might not accept it, as I have done so before because of aforementioned reasons. That's why I had an issue with this kind of jackpot gifting in the first place. Anyway... Thanks for clearing that up. So, this whole thing was more of a single occasion and you don't give away free endgame kits on a regular basis. That's pretty much what I wanted to hear in the first place. Now, carry on doing an awesome job, good sirs. ... oh, and congratulations, Zulthus! :D
  15. Brian, I really like and respect what you and everyone else at RMG is doing so far. This however... ... is simply way over the top! Why would you do this? Why would you give someone all that stuff for free? Isn't finding gear like that for yourself a big part of the DayZ experience anymore? If you'd give your child all the pocket money it wants, then it will never know what it means to earn something by working for it in one way or another. What reasons do those players have to ever go and explore NW airfield again now? Why should they wander around, looking for crash sites, if they already have 90-95% of endgame content anyway? Don't get me wrong, you and your team are doing a great job, but please, for the sake of DayZ, reconsider your agenda here. I can't be the only one who thinks like that... I don't want to draw too much attention to my issue with this, so I'm posting my reply in here instead of the medic thread where you posted a quote of this for whatever reason (karma whoring? :) just kidding!).
