Interview request for zombie article

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am a journalist from Toronto and I am writing an article about Day-Z for a magazine about surviving the zombie apocalypse. I am looking to speak with one or two game players over the phone? I will ask you questions such as: How long have you been playing in game? Are you in a team or on your own? What's the best supply/item/weapon that you have found? Tell you the craziest thing that has happened to you in game.

I had a chance to talk with the creator of Day-Z, Dean Hall, when he was here for GamerCamp. He was great, but I really need to speak with people that have played and experienced the game. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Kindly,

-----

Why not just post up your questions here and have a wider population give their answers? It would be more accurate then just the interview of 1-2 players who could be anything ingame (newbie, medic, bandit, hoarder, hacker, hero etc) all with their own views (a bandit would value an AS50 over the Hatchet but it doesn't make it the best weapon etc).

I just uploaded 2 1//2 hours of videos content this week and have another interview going up on Friday. I wouldn't call that not making videos anymore I don't know where you got that idea from.

Depending on the reporter's article I don't think my play style may be relevant to his article. He may want more "regular" players for a more common experience to the game, in statistical terms the way I play would be an outlier rather than the norm.

One of your videos was about how your only pushing out a few more vids and calling it a day. Unless i missed another saying you were coming back into it. It was something "thank you and goodnight" titled. You were still uploading more vids but you weren't making more vids (just the backdated ones that are still on file). Sorry if i am wrong, i hope i am wrong your videos were/are badass!

I took that video down as it had the wrong effect so sorry about that. I've retired from doing any new interviews. I did the video initially because some people felt that my small modicum of fame went to my head when I refused them an interview. Rather than explain over and over again that I was too busy, with the DayZ novel and my own paid writing to do any further interviews I thought I'd put the video up and just point people towards it. And from that point on I've refused all interview requests, including some from big name YouTubers, to focus on the novel and completing the ones in the can.

I currently have 27 recorded interviews. & of which will definitely go up, the next one with Derpington Steele, and the rest to be reviewed and determined. Most likely another five. That will take me well into standalone territory.

People give you way too much shit for no reason, CJ. To hell with 'em. You're alright in my book.

The guy is awesome... Even tho his failed assassination attempt on me, had me paranoid for about a week! Thankfully a shadow in the woods ended that! Back on the coast I was able to shake the shackles of gear and ego and start fresh!

In retrospect I probably should of done the interview, but I've no regrets. Was an interesting night that is for sure!

Pendragon. That was definitely your own paranoia on that one. I still maintain that I wasn't trying to get you and I don't know who those other players were at the church. Oh well.

Thats the impression that i got from that video. I never thought you were 'letting it go to your head' just that you were a fair and practical man. Uploading and editing takes along time and its not your fulltime job to do, so just a hobby if anything, so i don't hold it against you if you did stop.

Would you be doing any for SA?

Anyways thanks for all your hard work and good luck with everything man! I'll be looking out for the rest of the interviews (and the recent kidnapping event, which i sadly can't be a part of due to time restraints)
