Zombies aggro each other

When they start running after a human, they should startle the other zombies they're running past, get them to look in that direction, maybe even follow the running zombie like they do with thrown whiskey bottles or smoke grenades.

One aggro'd zombie wouldn't aggro the whole town, but the whole town would be noticing the aggro'd zombie and coming to investigate.

If this get's implemented then i will not be responsible for my stern words directed at players when they moan.

"i was a mile away and a zed aggroed, I started to run up a hill and the zombies in every town were chasing me, Not even fluffy the dog got away" and "Please rocket it's too hard"

I'm sure it's being worked on as we speak. Zombies need to work like a pack, for added threat.

Yes but not like a pack of wolves but rather than a pack or human players trying to play coop against AI ( trying to get the most kills but dying in the process of beeing an egoist :) )

Only once the zombies actually work properly and don't come sprinting after you even though they shouldn't know exactly where you are and only investigate sounds rather than immediately sprint towards the player. Once that's nthe case, sure it would only make sense an be a great oppertunity for teamplay - one guy attracts all the zombies and the rest of the team loots more or less savely.

Yeah they shouldn't sprint at you until they see you. But, I think it works pretty well already, the only exception would be running on a road which makes a crazy amount of noise causing zombies to come from behind cover sprinting towards you. Just avoid roads.

I wish they were more predatory in general. Rather than just wandering around they move with conviction.. they don't have to sprint but creep around.. move erratically.. move rapidly at times. Maybe even work together to flank players.

As a man who has dedicated three years of his life learning about zombies. I approve entirely. If one zombies sees a player and goes sprinting others will take notice and come look. If they see the player they sprint, so on so forth. As far as them being more aggressive I wouldn't say they should be constantly hunting and using squad tactics to flank and trap. These are, at least from the current version of the game, are single minded beast. Not intelligent predators. Zombies react on drive not survival They don't think about how to catch the prey only that they really, really want to. Zombies are not animals but something all their own, they don't need to eat they only desire eating. So unless they see the food their they're not going to waste their time looking for it as much as say, a wolf would.

Now none of this should be implemented before the homing device the zombies seem to have gets fixed. But as far as them thinking collectively, realistically it shouldn't extend to anything more then a "follow the leader" type of reactions.

Is it me or when your prone and want to get to a certain place, they seem to cut you off every time? it was even more terrifying when their heads always followed you wherever you went. I'm not sure of their pathing but if they spawn near buildings then surely the path they wander around could be altered to be more erratic and difficult to predict. Crawlers going around hte building while the more able walkers bigger arcs around the buildings?

Once they see you then all hell breaks loose as other zeds would notice one of their brethren running for some reason. runnign around to investigate as they are driven for food.

Love this idea... will make all those "Run n Gun" players think twice... Nothing would satisfy me more than watching a clumsy player being chased out of Starry by 50 pissed off flesh junkies after knocking over a can of beans in the shop...

I can taste the tears of rage already... and they taste so sweet :D

I actually really like this idea. Right now the pathing is so horrid you can just run everywhere and lose the chasers on a bush when its convenient.. But this would make that almost impossible, I think. It should definitely be tried, at least.
