    List of suggestions

You know your right. I may have over reacted. I apologize. However I'm still sticking to my overall ideas except the bits about the mythological creatures, although I think Bigfoot would be a funny easter egg as an animal to kill and gut. Hand in answer to your question. Yes, I would run around in full riot gear.
  2. So, I have a private server up and running for my friends and myself. It's been great being able to help each other without bandits or hackers. But we want to know how to change the starting gear for the server. We where thinking of opening the private server for others to join us but we want to be able to set a (what we believe as) more realistic starting load out. We also want to know how to give players skins such as the Soldier or Rocket skins as we where planing on using this as an Admin identification method in game. As in Players with Soldier are server moderators with Rocket skins for admins. If anyone can help me out and let me know where I can modify these whether it's in the database or config files. I'm using HFBServers with TCAdmin if that helps.

    Better zombies

How about. Realistic zombies based on rigor mortis system. Zombies are the reanimated corpse of the infected. Like corpses they go through three stages. Fresh zombies are physically just as capable as they where as host. They run/sprint like the person they where and are a major threat, however as a corpse they eventually under go rigor mortis causing their muscles to seize up and cause them to move slowly and jerky. After the third phase the muscular tissue relaxes again and the zombie regains most of its prior physical abilities but as it has now almost no living tissue in it's body it begins to deteriorate as it moves. The body cannot regenerate from damage including the constant tearing of muscle tissue from normal movement. Thus causing them to eventually break down to the point in which they are of no threat any more. Though this process from first to last stage takes mere weeks the final stage and the over all zombies life span can last for years depending on the environment.

    Cannibalism

Perhaps make it as a simple progression system. eating one serving probably wouldn't affect you to terribly badly. (Can't say I've never eaten someone) So if you eat one person for survival, yeah your humanity takes a hit but you can still play it off to others that your perfectly sane. Then as you continue to feed (if you do) you slowly begin to gain little shivers and the occasional out burst. Till you become a twitching, hysterically laughing, manic, sociopath. Probably based on no prior knowledge or research after your 4th or 5th body you get to there. Also, I think humanity lost should be based on how low your hunger is at the time. Granted it will be a very low drop no matter what, but say if your at the brink of death it'll only drop a quarter way then as if you weren't really hungry at all, and it drops to negative infinity. Also, I'm not sure about the actual effects of kuru but I think that feeding should (somewhat) reduce the shaking/laughing. Not completely but a little bit. Also if eating flesh cures hunger perhaps there could be a separate option to drink blood to cure thirst? I have absolutely no knowledge if that would work or not. Just saying.

    Zombies aggro each other

As a man who has dedicated three years of his life learning about zombies. I approve entirely. If one zombies sees a player and goes sprinting others will take notice and come look. If they see the player they sprint, so on so forth. As far as them being more aggressive I wouldn't say they should be constantly hunting and using squad tactics to flank and trap. These are, at least from the current version of the game, are single minded beast. Not intelligent predators. Zombies react on drive not survival They don't think about how to catch the prey only that they really, really want to. Zombies are not animals but something all their own, they don't need to eat they only desire eating. So unless they see the food their they're not going to waste their time looking for it as much as say, a wolf would. Now none of this should be implemented before the homing device the zombies seem to have gets fixed. But as far as them thinking collectively, realistically it shouldn't extend to anything more then a "follow the leader" type of reactions.

    Night and Day, universal time

Just throwing in my two cents. My computer has a hard time running on high-populated servers (not sure if it's my hard/software or the game) so I'm forced to play night servers as daylight servers are almost always to packed. That said I also can;t play half the night servers because the moon is always gone. If every server was stuck on the same time then I have a 50/50 chance of it being playable when I can play, which means a 50/50 chance of EVER being able to play DayZ. I'm not a gambling man and not about to start with those odds. I'm a lone wolf. I take pride in my (crappy) ability to navigate, search, and fight in the gray-scale colors of full moon's night. Hell why not just call me a vampire. But I know that 98% of the DayZ community likes having friends and playing during the day. So it's a 50/50 shot that either they or myself is screwed. Either way, it kills DayZ. Sorry mate, but IMO this idea is gonna get sacked.
  11. Dude. Someone disagreed with you, don't have a tiff. Just accept that some people have different views as you. I can however see what your saying as far as the "Choose when spawning" aspect. That would work at first, everyone would shoot the bandits the survivor would all team-up. Problem is, only the survivors get a penalty. Bandits do whatever they want and get rewarded where survivors get penalized for say shooting that twit that just stole your hummer. "Hey, we have trust issues, they stole my hummer! Get over it!" is how I would approach the situation and admittedly it can and has gotten me shot at. But I can't shoot back because then I have worse shakes then kuru and can't shoot straight ever again. The problem also is that some people will pick bandit to help their clan who they are talking to in team speak to be a "Mercenary" per say to just clear out survivors for the survivors of their clan. or people who will pick the survivor skin to get close to people and rob them blind. Picking first also has the problem that, what if the thug life isn't for me anymore? Well time to go kill myself and lose all my hard worked supplies. It needs to be actively adaptive to all situations because people do change.

    Cannibalism

Fallout never got that rep and there is slavery, cannibalism, prostitution, bounty hunting, dismemberment, raiding, conspiracy, and even mutated-inbred-satanic-hillbillies (FO:3 Point Lookout) I've never seen any news headline about it.

    left handed player character

As a south-paw I would love the option to be left handed in the game. That said, being must guns are right handed I've learned to shoot just as proficiency with either hand even though i'm more comfortable with my left. Also, for those saying it would kill realism as brass would hit you in the head a lot. Most guns eject their spent cases at angles mostly to the right-up-forward direction (yeah that's the best phrasing I could come up with) Now, I'm not saying no gun does but I've never had the problem with getting hit with MY brass. I have gotten hit by brass from shooters standing next to me and yes it does singe a bit sometimes. If a south-paw feature was added I'd be happy, if not I wouldn't cry about it. Also, as an extra suggestion if it is implemented perhaps the game could also implement the feature of Left, Right, and Ambidextrous weaponry (yes they have them) in which that if A:right handed player picked up a left handed gun their shots will be slightly off for a certain amount of time (them getting used to it) until it would aim the same. Even if it didn't go as far as that I still think being able to see animations for both left and right handed shooters firing same and off handed weapons.

    Wallets (add to the immersion)

This topic made me lol till my sides ached. The wallet is very easy to implement. As stated before many players want a trophy for their kills. IDs are great for that which would be found in a wallet. It doesn't need to be an option but perhaps a function. Example: You walk up the the corpse of a player and you use the wheel to highlight "Check wallet" the game will then tell you "They where Playername from playerdefinedlocation" Or better yet show your player picking it up and viewing it in first person for increased immersion. Yes I know we have "examine body" now but there's not much immersion to it. You look at the body and learn everything about them as if we're cyborg aliens with neural scanners. Also, just because someone has an idea, or view that differs from yours don't get in a tiff just simply and calmly state how you disagree and why. Perhaps you can both eventually find a common ground.

Lets Make the Zombies Not Dumb

If you ask me, It seems people are wanting to have unbeatable smart zombies that kill you within seconds of starting a game solo. Really people we don't need more powerful zombies. It's a virus outbreak not hell on earth. DayZ not DOOM.
