Howard_Ford 1 Posted November 7, 2012 I had to kill a friendly today. Normally I never would, but we were in a car together and I had to go. I knew that if I got out and left he would have taken my car that I have spent days with, so I got out and lured him into the woods, and shot him.He was all "Why man?! why?".Has anyone else had to do this? and should I feel guilty? Am I a bandit?! :(
Subtex 21 Posted November 7, 2012 Could have dropped him off and just drove somewhere else.

EliteSkittle 59 Posted November 7, 2012 You very easily could have just dropped him off somewhere else so while you did an evil thing we all make some mistakes. I hope you live with your guilt forever.monster XD

Mudpuppy (DayZ) 16 Posted November 8, 2012 A bit low man. Like people said, dropped him off, I'm sure he would have understood. Having said that, your story made me laugh.
fathairybeast 246 Posted November 8, 2012 Interesting how you rationalized it lol. Most people would have simply dropped his ass off somewhere else...
Sula 1205 Posted November 8, 2012 You did not have to kill a friend, you chose to for the lowest reasons possible. You feel guilty? Good, you should. And you've lost a friend. Was it worth it?
klesh 2423 Posted November 9, 2012 Remind me not to play with you. That was a lame move on a "friend".

Tureilim 3 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) Shot a survivor I just met in the legs when we were being chased by a horde of zombies. Literally. A horde. Namalsk is an unforgiving place.i make that sorta threat with a buddy of mine when we play all the time. I never had to actually enforce it. Usually we lose the things in the woods.AND YOU, OP.That escalated quickly, didnt it? ._. You really value your friends I see. TheThinkTanker 26 Posted November 9, 2012 Look, we both said and did a lot of things that you're going to regret, but I think we can put all that behind us; for survival... You monster.
Penny Sue 77 Posted November 9, 2012 You should feel guilty!Next time just tell them you gotta go and to please get out!Think they wont comply? Then "trick" them into getting out and drive off. There was no reason to execute the dude.
gravatrax 4 Posted November 9, 2012 Yes. You should. You don't if he was going to steal your car. Hell I probably would have told he could use it a bit if he was careful. You are now a bandit in my eyes.
thelonewarrior 886 Posted November 9, 2012 Thats just a dumb perspective on the game.So what? It would have been taken from you eventually and you might have shattered some poor guys way of playing as now he thinks that no one is friendly and eiether quits playing or becomes a bandit himself. You ruined a guys game in the same way as any other bandit.Give the car to them, do a selfless good deed.Theres killing on sight, fair enoughAnd theres making a guy think hes found a possible new friend only to get betrayed by him.You are just another low life of the DayZ world
platecloak 14 Posted November 9, 2012 You will gather yourself when this thread reach page 3, and then 4. /jkWhat you might want to learn is to give a tough message (might be only in your head) in a friendly way. Considering how k.o.s. is the norm, your friend might just be happy to get some teamwork for a few hours.Btw, you didn't get rid of him, you just moved him to the beach with a casus belli in his backpack. I think some people get caught up in the "no loose end" thinking pattern, deciding that killing someone will clear their back when it does quite the opposite.
