Best map besides chernarus?

Only other map I've played is utes, and only cus I was in the mood to kill kill some pussies without risking my gear

But from YouTube, namalsk looks like the best, closely followed by lingor

What r ur opinions? Which one should I get first?

Not a fan of Panthera as I haven't played it much, I think Lingor is the best as it kinda started this new wave of map making. But Namalsk I probably have played more of.

Namalsk and Panthera imho...but namalsk the better,

new loot/temp and food can be a problem, I recomend the spear 911 eu server (3d/no crosshair) so when the shaking starts it all evens out the guns....

ot basicly any without the crosshairs on will do that though :P

(on a side note there is a chopper with rockets and GL side gunner, and a cool underground bunker too)

Namalsk. Actually..any map besides Takistan is good, but i recommend that one. DON'T LOOK AT SOME INTERACTIVE MAP! Keep the exploration aspect close to the chest. Makes DayZ more fun IMO.

I've started playing the Namalsk recently. Sure it's a nice map, but it does have a few problems. Like food, there's a bigger chance that you'll find a hunting knife, matches and a hatchet before you find some beans. And the fact that grass isn't visible when it's futher than what? a 75 meters or so. Else the amount of military loot is what makes the map awesome and what makes it my second favorite map after Chernarus.

thats the whole point of the map. imagine a zombie apocalypse would occur, in like, lets say the US. and now lets assume it has been 4 years. a lot of the initial survivors are probably dead by now, so what would you find all over the place? right, weapons! and what would be pretty scarce? exactly food! if the industry stops producing canned beans, they will eventually run out...

the idea behind namalsk is, that you fight the other survivors for food and medical supplies.

Namalsk hands down is the best for me. I liked Panthera too but Namalsk just takes top spot as the atmosphere is just so fricking eerie! High winds covers the sound of gunshots in the distance and then you get the odd scream or Predator like clicking around in the built up areas. People talk about lots of military spawns but i have yet to find one (except i got near one of the bunkers before dieing).

Chernarus feels like its just after the apocalyspe started and Namalsk feels like its been a few years in and food etc are becoming very rare (except my first supermarket i found had like 15 cans of food but my friends over on teamspeak said i was VERY lucky).

yeah it was. I've started playing namalsk on saturday, and within 3 hours of play me and 2 of my buddys had, 2 pickups and an ural full of weapons (2 M4sd, 2 M40, 1 MK48, lots of ak's and m4s) but barely had any food.

Namalsk hands down is the best dayz map created besides Chernarus obviously. The atmosphere is SPOT ON with a zombie outbreak, and the main city looks like it was modeled after Pripyat. The town most effected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.. I love that food/water and medical supplies are the top commodity as well, and not weaponry.

Lingor is very nice,, but somehow people prefer Namalsk over it.. though that is also nice but too much weapons to my taste.

Id say lingor and namalsk.

I've been playing Namalsk for a while and if you find the regular chernarus boring and want something else then this is the map for you. It sorts of turns the dayz experience upsidedown. Lingor is fun as well, v environment and so is panthera.

As it stands now I like Lingor Island the best. I do think with more than 80 vehicles Chernarus has potential to be the best.

After reading what most of you guys are saying im going to have to play Namalsk more.

I just started comparing the new maps and so far I really prefer Namalsk over all the other maps.

I think it's a big advantage of those island maps that you can't hide tents and/or vehicles at the edge of the map.This makes it much more likely to find tents and vehicles and people have to be more creative when it comes to hiding their stuff.

Depends, i personally like Panthera the best for its small valleys, lots of loot and changes of scenery (tropical, desert and woodland), yet it's not without flaws like trucks and stuff halfway up cliffs. Or ponds you can sit inside forever.

If you want a challenge try Namalsk, you'll be hunting for Heatpacks as much as Water and its got new loot tables, weapons and supposedly single-player additions.

Lingor is quite well made, although sun, sea and sand don't befit the zombie atmosphere for me.

Takistan is also decent, big high valleys everywhere means sniper heaven. There's no wood from trees on this map, so any you find is worth holding on to. Plus there's no supermarkets to make food gathering extra tough.

Fallujah is a huge flat urban map with endless apartment blocks and open spaces.

Zargabad is a small town map with a few roads leading in.

Utes is a small island with an airfield to get killed on.

someone replied to me there was problems porting them , but I have them working on my arma 2 combined ops folder with the CAA1 project

maybe some expert need to rename or disable the conflicting classes

Namalsk is my favorite,the ambient is perfect for a zombie apocalyps,didnt like LIngor,it was like being on vacation in the Caribbean.

In Namalsk is hard to find food and drinks,so killing is put aside while hunger is enemy number 1.
