I do believe the food icon should also take a little longer to start flashing or if it does start flashing it should take a little longer for you to start dying by starvation.

Yep,I feel this is the one change that will really set in the survival feel.First it is much needed as it allows the food spawns to be severely reduced lending to the apocalypse feel.Second it forces the need to constantly scavenge to survive and having to constantly do something in game means you get less"all geared up and now what" posts.One issue though is that with reduced foods then hunting becomes the only way to get health back after being shot up and that can be extremely hard at times.I am finding that its almost impossible to play like this.A good workaround is to increase the blood gain from food items.For example killing a wild boar should net you full health and all wild animals only give one food item so you have to constantly look out for them.

Canned foods=2000blood=6 cans instead of 15

Rabbits=4000 blood=3 rabbits instead of 10

Boars/goats=full health from each

Make em run when you aggro them for added immersion and difficulty....

I scoured the map like a fat girl with OCD trying to eat and seperate the contents of a chicken pie. Pud, did not find. Tranny? only heard one moaning no visual confirmation.

Imo, Namalsk nails it on how hard the survival is and really empahizes the temperature. It makes a very great survival map that people can cooperate on.. if it werent for the high abundance of military loot. Most people play the map as a pvp map... and to be honest I have killed a lot more people that I prefer as a medic. I've never fired first, but people almost always shot at me for some reason(this way today :P). Most of the people I killed had fired pistols into me, but they always had an AK on their back. Although, since there is only 1 hospital on the entire map you are basically screwed if you break your legs.

I was playing on a private hive where you spawn with a makarov and basic tools. I had ran around for a while and saw there was a base set up for friendlies and was being announced over side chat. They were apparently at the tunnels, and I was curious so I went over there. They had snipers overwatching and would KOS if you didn't announce, but I didn't get killed and I gladded was given supplies. This happened yesterday.

Today I got back online, and the fort was still going strong, even with more people! Bandits were roaming the hillside picking off travelers to the safe haven. I made my way back there(I died from hax) and I keep hearing gunfire from the hills. They sent out people to go kill the bandits but we never found them. I was given supplies and weapons, but we reallly needed medical supplies and the Old Hospital was supposibly hot. Me and another guy volunteered to make a run to the hospital. As we were leaving two of the guys back at the fort were killed by an invisable hacker with a glock. We kept on anyway because some of them still needed meds(and we could use some ourselves). On our way there we saw the two bandits who were known for killing people and they fired on my friend and myself. We took out the first guy who had complete shit aim, but I was killed by his friend with an m14. My friend shot his friend with his m16 but was killed himself. Then the bandits went on raging and called our fort evil bandits and stuff.

TL;DR Version: It would be nice if someone were to make another map with the same feel as Namalsk, but with more civilian gear. I met nice people in the tunnels but we died to bandits.

In namalsk it is a lot more intensive to roam the wilds to find food in any way possible and a lot more easier to a decent sized clan to dominate the whole map because the huge open fields on major roads, way too easy for as50/m107's to scan. The dam and bridges are suicide on a busy day. Good thing on busy namalsk is that every barracks is filled with crap because nobody wants to stay there to clean it.

I think a way to fix this is to put downed soldiers with the weapons laying next to them to signal that its not just massive amounts of weapons everywhere.

I'd much rather have scarcity of weapons and ammunition.

You cant survive off of eating your gun and drinking your bullets. You can have all the guns in the game and all the ammo you could ever need, but once your food and water starts flashing you can say good bye to that m4a1 cco d and all those stanag SD clips.

Namalsk is very fun, Not to long ago we had a group of 7 roaming the map. With only 2 cans of food to split with each other. We tried to hunt and suceeded later on but it was only a temporary solution. and Yes there is more cars in NAmalsk, there is UAZ and pick-up for sure ( I drove both)
