andrewmont 91 Posted October 27, 2012 I can get anywhere from 14 -20fps sometimes (only ever out in the open with not many trees etc) I will reach 40 but a lot of the time it is at around 20 and in woods it always drops below 20. I run game booster, have AVG Tune Up and run all the performance software as well as Advanced System Care (free) also whilst playing the game I run GameBooster3 which disables explorer.exe and other things. Even with all this my game still frequently drops to around 14-20fps in certain areas, rain does not help and sometimes it's just being an asshole no matter what. Processor: Intel® Core i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHzMemory: 4096MB RAMCard name: AMD Radeon HD 6450Hard Disk Total Space: 953.8 GBFile System: NTFS Model: ST1000DL002-9TT153 ATA DeviceI'm was thinking of getting a new graphics card, perhaps a better processor is what I need though? But I can't get anything too expensive. Any help for components to buy (preferably no more than £100) or software to install, things to edit. I've heard about increasing power usage to components to increase performance? I've not looked at overclocking much as I don't want to overheat anything. I've not looked at overclocking much as I don't want to overheat anything.Try the startup parameters and config file edits mentioned in an earlier thread of mine. If those don't work try some stuff in the first list. You don't NEED a new video card to get performance.http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/90153-optimizing-dayz-for-those-with-low-end-pcs/

There is AMD Overdriver which allows me to overclock some things but I think I put it up too much the first time and it started fucking up my screen.
andrewmont 91 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) build yourself a gaming rig mate, seriously, it will pay out dividends. If you have any questions on how to do it, just send me a PM.http://www.ebuyer.co...70-1gbd5-m2dhv2a little bit over your price range but a good card for the moneyhttp://www.google.co...ved=0CGoQ8wIwAgSame graphics card but different manufacturer or something? Also been looking at the GeForce GTX range and HD Radeon 7850.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Palit-GeForce-GTX-560-Smart-Edition-1GB-GDDR5-PCI-E-2-0-736MHz-Graphics-Card-New-/150925303432?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item2323d95e88 - how would this be? On passmark this has a really good rating, better than the Radeon 6870. Edited October 27, 2012 by AndrewM
daze23 549 Posted October 27, 2012 this game (Arma 2) is particularly troublesome. people that have the best rigs complain about performance. I would wait to see what the stand-alone is like
