I went into EB Games to buy a headset this morning

Recommended Posts

Went in at 9am as it opened. There was already a surfer bogan in there talking constantly to the service guy. I got a bit impatient because I just wanted to grab the first headset I found and go do other jobs before I could go home and play some games. Eventually I got my headset, payed for it and the guy says what games are you playing at the moment, Battlefield or Call of Duty or? I was like "Nah mostly been playing DayZ". The surfer bogan jumps up and is like "woah dude that game is awesome". I thought it was pretty funny. Maybe you had to be there. Not sure. Nice to see DayZ has a good name for itself in the bogan hangouts anyways.

what's a bogan?

"The term bogan is Australian and New Zealand, usually pejorative or self-deprecating, for an individual who is recognised to be from an unsophisticated background or someone whose limited education, speech, clothing, attitude and behaviour exemplifies a lack of manners and education. While bogan is widely recognised, localised names exist that describe the same or very similar groups of people."

Basically it depends on where you are from as to what personal attributes defines a bogan, but its essentially any person who has characteristics which exemplify a lower form of person. The where you are from can vary from one town to another, which makes defining it difficult.

There's your first problem.

Last time I went to EB games I saw they had CO with a DayZ sticker on it. I talked to one of the staff there about it and he said he didn't like it, or mods in general, as he was a console gamer.

Poor misguided soul.

I haven't heard EB Games in ages. Most of the EB Games are now Gamestops here.

I've had a DayZ moment at the gas pump. My friend Jason and I had stopped to get gas, and we both play. I was talking to him about how I set up medical camps in Berizino through the window when a guy from the car at the pump ahead of us walked over and poked me in the shoulder. "Did you just say Berezino? Like DayZ?" "Yeah?" He held up his hand for a high five "FUCK YEAH MAN, I LOVE THAT SHIT!" I high fived him and went on with my day. Enthusiasm~

I thought other people were as into the game as me until I was arrested walking around downtown with a hatchet and a backpack filled with bandaids hiding in the bushes.

Atleast it's a good thing you weren't putting up barbed wire and tank traps in front of all the store doors. If so then the cops would have probably shot you.

I walked into Eb Games the other day to pre order the indescribable [emphasis was a necessity] Assassin's Creed III and I overheard one of the employees speaking with a customer. The customer was asking "so which city do you prefer? Chernogorsk, Elektro or Berezino?" I was completely surprised to hear this. The employee replied with "I honestly don't know...but I like the one with the two hospitals. Which one is that?" The customer was unsure so I politely butted in and answered the question.

"Another fellow DayZ player? Sweet!" Both the employee and the customer were super happy to meet another person who plays DayZ. We talked for about half an hour or so after that about various aspects of the game. It was awesome.
