Basements and attics

Recommended Posts

Along with more enterable buildings, I would love nothing more than to see basements and possibly attics in houses. Maybe not every single house, but at least 25% to a 3rd of them. There could be loot there, but it could also be a great place for people to hide tents and gear – especially in smaller, less traveled villages and such. Along with a mechanic eliminating players ability to tell whether or not other survivors are in a town by whether or not there are zombies there, it would be perfect. This would go great with the caves and whatnot that Rocket has mentioned is being looked in to.

cherno plus is the map redone, if you have any scenario to play out in dayz do like other mod teams, learn how to make and do it yourself, any suggestions related to the map has been fleshed out, and i think some of the houses will have attic or basements. Placeable objects always go to the terrain level, despite being put above it, this is done to avoid flying tents. Use search function please also. Maybe using a basement to create a cave could be a little hard to implement but that could be nice

Does that mean i can change my name to "Anne Frank" and hide in an attic for years?

Just finished reading a book about her today, heh.

I`d love to see sorts of niches such as basements and attics to hide things in, or hide myself in, or hide bodies in...

a must! and i am going to add this question:

Are basements possible with the current state of the engine? And if yes, why didn't we see any up to date? attics and basements could add so much authenticity.

you have to lower the ground of the map and fill the empty space with a static object ( like real houses with basement are built)...Sumrak made it this way on Namalsk to build an underground base  :). You can not dig caves or tunnels....

"We are looking at adding to buildings a few basements around the map that are kind of pre-done. So there is a couple of underground things that you can capture yourself that you maybe can't expand but are there."

This is in addition to their long term basebuilding/construction ideas, would be a nice addition.

you are the man

btw I would love to see these instanced worlds to be used more for creating "Dungeons" ( like the interiors in Stalker) than for base building...this way the gameworld could be expanded without enlarging the current map ....
