  1. we're starting to fill up, so come join in the fun. max vehicles, fresh spawns, all that good shiz...
  2. Vehicles shouldn't be rare, why would they be? Fuel, now that needs manufactured and refined, so that being rare makes sense.
  3. *** PLEASE NOTE *** Our game and teamspeak servers are finally back up! We've changed hosts and therefore ips, so please check our new info: 198.24.161.202:2302 DayZ - TPG Private Hive Virginia US 106 [DayZ 1.7.6.1/103419][Regular][170+VEHICLES][bRIGHT NIGHTS][AI PATROL][NO M107/AS50][uTC -06]. *** PLEASE NOTE *** We've recently made some changes here at US 106: ai patrols (bandit/survivor/military groups), day/night cycle, building lights + lampposts, full-moon nights, removed as50/, animated heli crashes, custom building placements and customized loot tables. We're looking for everyone in the community who plays DayZ to weigh in on the changes. We want all opinions so we know how we need to tweak our server to provide the experience you're looking for. A little about us: ]TPG[ is a casual, community-based gaming clan. We were started as a CS:S and TF2 clan, but we've since evolved and expanded into many other games, including DayZ. Of the games we play, we take DayZ the most seriously. That being said, we're about having a good time and surviving - not about being douches. We recently added a 2nd DayZ server - DayZ - DayZ - TPG Private Hive Virginia US 106 [DayZ 1.7.6.1/103419][Regular][170+VEHICLES][bRIGHT NIGHTS][AI PATROL][NO M107/AS50][uTC -06]* - a 50-man day/night cycle private hive server based in Virginia, and there are many members and regs playing throughout the day. While our community hails primarily from the USA's east coast, we have players from Canada, the UK, Malta, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands and Australia (and perhaps a couple more I forgot). We try not to shoot first and we generally respect anyone's coastal declarations of friendly. We like to work as a team to raid towns for gear, find and fix vehicles and the like. Most of our players have 6 or more weeks of experience, but we are happy to welcome anyone regardless of skill, experience or geographic location. So if you're looking for a group of active, mature, team-centric DayZ players to check out and maybe run with, point your browser to totalpunishmentgaming.com, joinDayZ - TPG Private Hive Virginia US 106 [DayZ 1.7.6.1/103419][Regular][170+VEHICLES][bRIGHT NIGHTS][AI PATROL][NOM107/AS50][uTC -06] and hop in our public teamspea (ts3.totalpunishmentgaming.com) to say hello - we'd love to meet you. If you aren't interested in joining our community, but are looking for a well-administered and constantly patched private hive server I invite you to pop in and give our server a test drive. Our server will employs auto-restarts every 3 hours in order to keep time desync and loot staleness at bay. If you would like to contact me about this post, or really anything at all, please feel free to do so via pm here (fair play - i check it rather infrequently) or via steam (where you're much more likely to receive a quick reply). Stay safe, Chernarus!
  4. remove all the assault rifles and SMGs, add complex crafting of Bows, Axes, Knifes less military loot in general customizable looks like colored armlets, or attachments etc more civilian vehicles like bikes, which should be WAY slower.
  5. At the most, maybe 10GBs. I'd say around 4-6 if you want to be realistic. It's definitely going to be less than Arma 2's download space, considering the fact that they're cutting off one map, removing a lot of helicopters and vehicles, along with useless models, and maybe adding a few things here and there.
  6. Demize Esports DayZ Server - Private Hive Server: DayZLingor - (0.34/97771) - (UTC+11) - (Veteran|3D:ON|CH:ON) - Demize Esports | Vilayer.com Website: http://www.godemize.net (currently being modified for dayZ) Demize Esports is a competitive gaming organization that has been around for years. Our players come from games such as CS, CSS, L4D2, and many more.. We have had a small core of people playing DayZ now for a few months. Our goal was to get a server and make it more inviting to clans and competitive players. Our server offers the best available anti cheats and smooth game play experience. We hope to see you soon! Server Features: - 40 Man Private Hive Server - Vilayer - Active and Responsible Admins - Anti Cheats - Battle Eye Script Auto Detector - Vilayer Anti Cheat 0.8 - 30 Vehicle Spawn (Subject to Change) - Running 24/7 - Veteran Difficulty - 3rd: On - Tracers: Off - NP: Off - CH: On - DM: On - Updates / restarts happen quickly and you get at least a 5 min notice - Server in US - Box in NYC - Routine log checks by admin to ensure fair play Server Rules: No hacking No duping intentionally No Alt + F4'ing to escape other players. Don't care if you do this to get away from zombies. You will have a 1 hour ban tacked on if this occurs. Refrain from killing fresh spawns. You won't get banned if you happen to kill one, mostly what we want to do is not discourage people from building a character on the server. (Feel free to rob or kidnap them if needed). No begging admins for weapons or vehicles. If we want you to have it, we will add it as a spawn to the map where everyone can compete for it. This isn't charity central. (No Obama Phones Available) No trolling or harassment over side chat. No excessive use of bad language, racist comments, We're not gonna kick your for expressing your displeasure in the fact that we just killed you, but just don't go overboard. No one wants to hear you crying because you died. It is simply part of the game.
  7. I think Zombies should have much smoother movement as they currently seem to jolt sideways in awkward positions. The Infected currently are altered soldier AI in which they behave like soldiers still and try to Zig Zag to avoid fire etc, Hopefully the new AI will be written solely to run at you mindlessly, like true brain dead Infected should No Hackers. In any game there will be hackers but we won't see the script kiddies like we do now, the original problem was Arma II being too trusting to allow users to inset scripts easily. Higher frame rate - For some reason Day Z can run UN-smooth even on very high-end systems. Optimization is something that's high priority especially seeing as most buildings will be enterable and have props, As you imagine adding more props Etc will reduce performance drastically so the Devs are trying to optimize as best as they can. Axe as a secondary ;) Can't really comment on the weapon system. All or most buildings become enter able (I hear they are doing this already ;) Yep More vehicles on regular Day Z servers. The problem with adding more vehicles, where is the line drawn between too many and too little? We don't want it easy for everyone to have a car but we don't want so many people left out, it's a hard one to judge and will take experimentation. Hope this cleared a few things up for you.
  8. Player named Kapersky teleporting vehicles across the map and launching unreal amounts of grenades. This guy was swiftly banned. 20.10.2012 02:15:39: Kapersky (*.*.*.*:2304) d7a5403d8fde2adbeda5b9e5295ca9a0 - #0 "F_40mm_Red" 6:242 6:66 [5180,14024,283] [15,36,69] 20.10.2012 02:15:39: Kapersky (*.*.*.*:2304) d7a5403d8fde2adbeda5b9e5295ca9a0 - 9. Hello there fellow DayZ mod'ers, For those of you who regularly played on US 2979 I'd like to announce that the technical difficulties on our server have now been solved...those technical difficulties being that there was a 'International Hotel' building every 100-200 metres...cities, forrest areas...even in the middle of lakes...ALL over the map from top to bottom, left to right...kinda made playing a little difficult. But thanks to facoptere for his fix for the problem the hacked in buildings have now been removed from the map. Other things that have been resolved include vehicles that were possibly hacked/teleported in to the ocean or to unaccessible areas have been returned to their spawn points and any spawned vehicles that should not be on the map have been removed. Tents haven't been touched, checked my tents and they were still where I put them with all the items I've stashed in them in tact. So, if you've been avoiding US2979 because of the hacked in buildings then feel free to come back cause they are gone!

    Waypoints and Zombie Movement

HerrJon, they're two different things, of course, not to different ways to do same thing. :) Selmack, when next to a bike, roll your mouse wheel and a menu will appear. You might need to run round the vehicle (it works with all vehicles) to get all the menu options but they will include: Get in, Save, Gear, Refuel, Repair, and others. To get off you do the same, roll mousewheel and choose Get out. Eject is dangerous as you can die if you use it while travelling at speed. Remember, the map grids change size as you zoom in and out but those numbers work for me - for example: if I have 1100m to run, I know it will take very roughly ten minutes.
  11. I have been playing on this server for a few months now and it is the best private hive i've ever played on! There are alot of reasons why but i'll keep it with these 5: 1. Active server admins 2. Hardly any hackers (and if there are any they will be banned ASAP) 3. All the extra features for this server; a bit more vehicles; the option to attach your character to the website; add item tool; backup tool etc. 4. Server restarts every 3 hours -> no lag at all! 5. There is a forum on their website if you need help with anything, found a hacker, offtopic funs etc.!
  12. less high end military kit, kit degradation, more melee weapons, noise attracting zombies, so snipers eventually attract hordes if they camp, ability to create safe zones, board up a house or barn. More improtantly zombies, thousands of them, unrelenting, brain hungry zombies, even in the wilderness just wandering looking for brains, towns like elktro filled with them, in rooms in buildings stuck in vehicles everywhere.
  13. you can take keys out of vehicles so no one can take your car if you leave it there :P
  14. Had a lot of fun playing this map, I searched every city on the southern part of the map and found no vehicles though. I put on a ghillie suit and from then on my in-game progress wouldn't save properly. I logged out and back in about 45 minutes after putting it on because I noticed the leaderboard hadn't updated or counted any of my zombie kills and was sent back ~3 towns and lost any new gear I had picked up. Not sure if this was just a server lag issue or what though. You can also get into crashed helicopters for some reason... I was able to hop right in to a crashed heli outside of Celle and it instantly killed me. I ran back and recovered my gear and noticed that I could mouseover the crash and repair it...

    Additional Player Type?

ehm....balancing cod kiddie military loot hunter? If you want to play a military guy you should try out vanilla ArmA 2. It's much more fun ( more military vehicles and military grad weapons ) and has a lot more players to shoot at and no annoying Zeds.
  16. mm, are you running the 1.whatever.2.6 version? because 2.5 was a pain for vehicles and tents. then if you save it correctly and put out/in something weekly, she should survive fine and i don't know how she could be gone away. i'm sorry for your loss! there isn't anything better than running naked from the north to the nwa, greedy light in your eyes, be ready to run a lot of kms more than normal..
  17. Kamikaze a heli into a clan camp (with vehicles) preferably when they are online

    Player Tracking

The server admin will always know everyones location if he's running the correct server software, a map the admin can see shows the location of all players & vehicles including the contents of your back pack & weapons, he sees everything & may choose to relay that information to his team/clan mates or indeed locate you & execute you personally, i speak from experience ;) So it all depends on who is asking....

    Special Event "Race day!"

For the last one we called a ceasfire on the server for a few days, it gave people time to find and repair their vehicles. The next one looks like it's going to be a lot more popular so we may provide vehicles. We're discussing the rules now but we're thinking of having to swap vehicles half way. Lol, you need to brush up on ur trolling technique, that sucked. That's what makes it funny though. Everyone was carrying spares and still only 2 out of 8 vehicles finished.
  20. Alright, so i just joined up with this group of guys through the DayZ mod forums. We were just enjoying our time and the north-west airfield. Well, after two complete bust at the barracks we started to head north to check for the ATV that spawns on the northern barrier of the airfield. Well, on our way we found a helicopter crash site that had a FN FAL and m14. I took the FAL and my buddy took the m14. Then suddenly, we spot two atv's, a bus and a tractor behind some trees. One ATV had a m14 cco sd but that was it in the loot. Oddly enough, none of the vehicles had fuel BUT they all were in working condition. I wasnt sure if they were scripted in or were just driven up there. Anyway, i found two jerry cans and so i filled up the bus with one and an atv with one since there was a fuel tank about one minute out. We arrive at the fuel tank. This guy joins. OUT OF NO WHERE techno music starts playing and me and my mates were like "what da fuq?" and then i saw this bunny running around and my friend points out that the music is originating from the bunny. I thought he was fucking nuts at first but then i realized it too. Then the "hacker" says "techno bunny :D" in side chat and we all just start cracking up. Then the bunny shits out a medical box with every single gun in ARMA II AO. Like every gun, including the guns not in the DayZ mod. M110 TWS, golden AK, etc. Then the music stops. Me and my friend are still cracking up. There were another two of us at cherno and they thought we were just making shit up. But then the bunny spawned on them. They were scared shitless so they shot at the bunny. It still pooped out a medical box though. And then the hacker left. This was the BESTEST MOST AWSUM hacker ever. Seriously, why cant all hackers be like this? Anyway, i ended up ramping the ATV off a 2 inch pile of debris (Who the fuck put all of these roadblocks in the cities?) and lost the ATV. I told my friend to come pick me up in the bus. He came back for me and i told him to hit the atv so we could roll it over. Well when he hit it just got fucking launched up in the air about 50 feet and when it landed it blew up. Later on that night after all four of us were in the bus another hacker teleported to us and one shotted 3 of us with a dmr INSIDE the bus. I managed to get out and hide in front of the bus where he had no view of me. next thing i know i get a DMR shot to the back of the head :( Anyway, thats my story of the craziest night ive ever had in DayZ. Your more that welcome to post your stories in here also. If you read the whole thing, thanks :)
  21. We have switched US153 over to DayZ Lingor on our own private HIVE. We have two DayZ Lingor servers on this HIVE, each with custom-built, EPIC bases with bonus loot caches, weapons, vehicles, and custom spawn points. Come by and check it out! :) You'll need the DayZ Lingor v0.34 files. Here's a torrent of the modfiles: http://anzuswargames.info/mods/DayZ_Lingor_1725_034.torrent

    Waypoints and Zombie Movement

I haven't tested the shift+right-click method, double-click has always worked for me. For remember where you put things, I just have a little notepad to and jot down coordinates of where I put my vehicles and stuff, and for fixed things like tents, I put the coords in the note section on DayZ commander, so I can easily find which servers that I play on have tents/vehicles and where they are on the map. For getting on vehicles, you have to be next to it and use the scroll wheel. There should be an option that says "get on (vehicle) as driver". You do need to be at a certain location around the vehicle for most to get this, so just circle around it while spinning your wheel. If all you get is "save (vehicle)" at all points around it, that probably means it's totaled, but that should be pretty easy to tell. Most servers hide vehicles on the map, but some recruit severs may. Edit: Also, that 9 min per kilometer is assuming flat land. If your path goes over hills or through towns (as it typically does), it could be a good deal longer.
