    Factions and Territory

I totally agree with this idea as dayz currently lacks tasks and goals that can be immediately relevant to players who do not have much in the way of arsenal or pre built teams. The importance of toolkits and vehicles will be hightened as well, The need to shelter from attracted zombies or snipers/bandits passing by would fuel demand. 200 odd Kms of space to fill afterall. I think that these tasks can be creative and really mix it up from the surviving , crawling , waiting and hiking parts of the game.

    Master Map

Hey guys, I am think this has been suggested but nonetheless I will say it again. This is basically a good map for 100-150 players. It includes Chernarus in the top left corner, Lingor in the right down corner, namalsk in right-center, and probably a different good map like Panthera or something somewhere else. This would be really much better, and you could spawn in only 3 out of 4 islands. Each island would have exclusive loot, findable only in that certain island. Like warm clothing in Namalsk, Russian weapons and East European vehicles or Russian vehicles, etc etc. Also, you would randomly find maps that are "broken" and only show one island. You could combine those maps and make a master map to show the other islands. I hope this will happen, and if it won't, someone try to do this as a mod map :D

Most memorable moment in DayZ so far?

My story is short. I was riding around just exploring, when I suddenly stumbled upon a truck packed with all kind of stuff. There were satchel charges inside. Being the sick and twisted person, I immediately thought of a sinister plan and set it in motion. I picked up satchel charges and placed them next to the truck. Then I announced in general chat (which is activated on my server), that I found a truck north of the NW airfield and that I'm "all excited with the items I found inside and how I'm looting everything". Then I hid on the mountain nearby waiting and expecting the owners to show up. And truly so, in no less than few minutes, there was an UAZ driving to it. They parked next to it and 3 guys jumped out. They immediatelly started checking out the truck. The items they left in there is the last thing they saw, as I blew them in the air along with their vehicles. The aftermath was almost as enjoyable as the explosion itself. I have never seen anyone so angry.

    Web-Based Map

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain well enough. This connects to the server database which will provide a potentially live feed of the whereabouts of players vehicles etc. Or is that already possible via your link?
  6. Recruitment status: Open The 97th ANZAC Dental Unit is now recruiting! Please feel free to read the most up-to-date information on our website: http://97adu.org/ The 97ADU is a group of dedicated gamers of all ages that come together mainly to play DayZ, with a little bit of WarZ. Our organisation is in possession of our own Website, DayZ server and Teamspeak server, as well as approximately 35 of the best players down under, across the Tasman, and around the world. Our members are Primarily Australians and New Zealanders, but we take in members from all different countries. We are also members of the Coalition, and work closely with clans such as the Chernarus Quarantine Force {CQF} the 18th Battalion and the Trusted Medics Of The Wasteland [TMW] as well as the 10 other Coalition member-clans. We provide bodyguard services to medics across the world, and act as medics ourselves for any player in need. We also supervise some trading between players on our home server, as well as exciting vigilante work across AU, ANZ and NZ servers. The Coalition's guidelines for member organisations include: - Helping friendly players. - Open warfare on bandits. - Avenging innocents who are killed by murderers. - Active policing of designated 'home' servers. As we are a contingent of the Coalition, we only take friendlies. If you have any questions at all, feel free to post on our private forum and I will reply ASAP. Please download the OFFICIAL 97ADU Member's Handbook for highly detailed information: http://www.fileden.c...andbook 1.5.doc Still interested? Please continue reading as I describe in more depth the recruitment process and whether or not our organisation is for you. The Recruitment Process After filling out a preliminary recruitment application (detailed below), candidates that are viable for recruitment will be contacted via PM and a voice interview will be arranged. We will then ask you a series of questions that will be used to determine if you are a suitable fit into the ADU's ranks. We usually take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to reach a decision after the interview, and you will be the first to be notified if your application has been accepted or declined over a communication network of choice (Our Teamspeak server, forum PM, email, smoke signals etc.). If you make it this far, you will be fixed with the 'recruit' rank on our Teamspeak, which is basically a probationary phase, of which it is possible to fail. It lasts from anywhere between 1 - 3 weeks, depending on your performance and how trustworthy you prove. From here, recruits are then promoted to full members of the 97ADU. Requirements High maturity levels. (Having a joke is fine, but you need to know when to stop) A working microphone. Teamspeak 3 Being a reasonable person. If somone asks you to come pick them up in a car you're driving, dont just say no and drive off. Sense of humor. About us Allow me to get one thing clear. We are not a bandit organisation, quite the opposite. So if you enjoy activities such as sniping fresh spawns in Elektro, then this clan isn't for you. We are out to have fun and to lend a hand, however if we come under fire, then we have no qualms about shooting to kill. We all have a serious side, but when it comes down to it, we are all out to have fun, so remember that. Rules and Consequences We do NOT tolerate: - The deliberate shooting of unarmed survivors. - Stealing or deliberate dispossession of ADU equipment and/or vehicles (we share equipment, so if you need weapons/ammo, just ask!) - Associating with a known bandit organisation. - Disrespect against fellow ADU or Coalition members regardless of their rank or organisation, this includes racist/sexist remarks etc. - Hacking in any way, shape or form. Consequences: Breaking any rules listed above will compromise your position within the 97ADU. The repercussions depend upon the severity of the infringement. Offenses such as hacking result in immediate expulsion, whilst others may result in a warning and/or being placed on probation. Again, If you are interested or have any questions at all, feel free to send me a PM or post here and I will get back to you ASAP. What to put in your post/PM: (Preliminary Recruit Application) - What name you go by in game? - Do you have a working mic? - How did you hear about us? - Do you have Teamspeak? - What are your best qualities that you think would benefit the 97ADU? - How long have you been playing DayZ/WarZ? - Are you associated with any other clans? Thank you for your interest. - Vendetta 97ADU Director of Communcations & Recruitment
  7. A list of many great ideas. I would like to add one about zombie to vehicle interaction. i think currently they just ignore vehicles and not even spawn in if you dont leave the seat. What if they attempted to break through the windows and crawl in or drag you out? players could be given a chance to fight them off.
  8. Thanks for the questions. We actually created a clan for the server, which can be applied to at this link - HERE The location of said bases are hidden currently. This is because we have a coalition of soldiers, and bandits who are in constant fight with each other. Giving away each others location would result in base wars. You can loot player made camps...ie- player made camps with tents and cars. HOWEVER; there are only 2 bases you cannot loot from. These are bases that have PERMANENT buildings. Not tents. For example, you may wonder upon a series of bunkers/watch towers in the forest (a real base). In that case, you have stumbled upon one of the two bases. You may see helicopters, cars, and ammo boxes there. You are not aloud to loot those bases. Like I said though, you can loot player made camps. Those camps usually only have tents, barbed wire, and sand bags. Trust me, you will know the difference. You will only be aloud to loot a faction base if you are a part of said faction. If you are a bandit, you will be taken to the bandit base. If you are a soldier, you will be taken to the soldiers base. Like I said before, there are only two bases that are non loot able. We don't have random bases around in the forest or anything like that, only 2. Send me a PM if you encounter problems, I am primarily in charge of the Clan. Rules are simple. Don't loot from the 2 faction bases, and don't kill ruthlessly if you are a Survivor. You are by default placed into the Survivor faction when you join the server. If you wan't to kill people, join the Bandit faction. Please go to the clan link above, and apply to the clan if you want to be with the Bandits. We have 100-200 vehicles in game at the moment. Thanks!

  10. So my friends and I were playing on Denyabsolution's server on the 28th of november and due to incompetent admins 2 of my friends were banned. The admin asked everyone in the server who the hacker was that was in the game and of course the hacker remained silent. The admin then got mad that no one was saying who the hacker was, which is pretty stupid considering how will you know without running into the player and seeing them do something like spawn a plane. While this hacker was running around the admin banned 6 players, 2 of which I was playing with, because the admin couldn't figure out who the hacker was. While in Cherno my cousin spotted the hacker and watched him spawn a plane. He then told the admin as soon as he saw it. The admin then went on to say "About time, It only took you an hour". This to me shows the complete incompetence of the admin as isn't that what they are admins for. To stop hackers and uphold the rules of the server. After this happened I went to their forums at www.denyabsolution.com and posted new topic on their board. This was taken down after about a half hour. I then posted the same thing again with an added line asking for a formal apology to my team for being banned. I was then banned from their forums(I was kinda expecting it). So the moral of this story is that the people at Denyabsolution are horrible at keeping a server running. There was atleast 1 hacker a day while I was playing on their server. I know that its a private hive and its not my server but I just wanted everyone to know how incompetent and rude the people over at this website are. I am not going to be leaving them alone until I get a formal apology. If you want to help you can tweet at them @denyabsolution Their server is: 100 Vehicles - Denyabsolution.com -DayZChernarus - (1.7.4.1/99153) Their server IP is: 173.192.200.76:2322 Thanks for reading my rant and possibly helping! Death race 2012/2013

I get your point. I have little experience with private hives though, but if a server admin allowed for spawning in vehicles for this purpose, I can't see the harm in it as long as the vehicles are deleted or blown up afterwards. But I think the replies I've got in this thread makes one very important point... It shows how far it is between idea and realization of that idea. That being said, I still hope to achieve this. Furthermore, one commented that this might not suit DayZ. I do get his point, but I still think it adds something absurd, and that's why its fun. Just look at how popular the party bus became! I think it might add an element of stress relief. And I don't think it's totally unrealistic either... No matter the circumstances, people do have a need for fun, and to escape reality. Just think about how dark humor is used for people who have been through tough and hard experiences. From an outside perspective, things like that might sound absurd, or even uncalled for, but we still do it. Heck, why do we even play games, if not to have a way of escaping reality, just for a few hours? Anyways, it seems like people are interested in doing something like this. I'll work some more on the concept during the weekend. If you are interested in helping out, feel free to send me a pm. And remember, I will not be angry if someone tries to do this on their own, with their own rules and regulations. I think it would be rather cool actually. I am all for sharing ideas.

  13. about 350 vehicle spawnpoints :) and 150 vehicles ingame so no one need to run anymore its fun :) because "damn someone stole my car i want it back" ... "im driiiving on the street im driiiving on the street" "ohhhh 5 cars in front of me :D *hupp hupp* :D "hey guys :D great map ! really big mac but great :)
  14. There have been a few individuals wanting to ask admin questions. Hasn't seemed like admin was present. Some of us are wanting more information. The OP was way too brief. There is like NO information in the OP about the server. Where are the bases? Which ones can't you loot? How do you know which base is lootable and which base is a faction-base? Where do I report problems? Who's in charge? What are the rules? Are there really 500 vehicles and if so, where are they? How do I become a bandit? Join a faction? Those are the "nutshell" questions that have been brought up. EDIT: And there's also new heli crash sites with different types of loot evidently. Just found one outside Cherno. no info on those. Please elaborate on OP. Thanks, and take care

    Death race 2012/2013

That's pretty awesome. That adds a whole chaos element to it. :) I'd still suggest at least a private hive server and spawned in vehicles just because it's could be a pain to repair and then secure vehicles for the event.

    Death race 2012/2013

Thanks for sharing... Alot of great ideas there, and I've been having a few of them myself. I think the main thing is to get it out there, and for me, the helicopter filming it all is crucial. The thing is, making it over complicated my make it impossible. A few small adjustments and a few rules is better than many as I see it. I would like to have it "secret" though, with only the drivers and the organizers knowing about it, so that other players on the server would react authenticly towards any vehicles. And I agree, the teams is not allowed to attack eachother directly.
  17. Hi guys, this might be a daft question but I can't seem to find an answer. I have a server which I hire from Vilayer.com and basically it doesn't seem to spawn crashed helicopters so basically my question is do I need to change anything within the server settings to get these spawning? I've also only seen one helicopter actually spawn and that was when the server was initially set up and since then it despawned and hasn't been seen again. I have max vehicles set in the options so I'm a little confused as to where they are/arent? Thanks for any hep u can offer me! Xoog

    Complication Of Suggestions

Me and my brother over the last year have started playing DayZ, and really gotten into thhe game, but now we are noticing little annoying things, and areas the game can be improved on, well heres just a quick list that we wrote up real quick. Character Customization! I think that DayZ just really needs a way to customize your character, I sure would feel more attached to a character I spent half an hour making sure looked perfect. Another important thing to add would be able to customize your clothing! In my experience 95% of friendly-fire incidents happen because all the character have only a few options for clothing, and people cannot distinguish between friends or enemies. Vehicles In DayZ vehicles are a life line, it's what allows me to more efficiently play with friends when one of us gets randomly shot, in some cases it help you not get shot. Vehicles in DayZ are really iffy for me, my reasoning for this is; Cars seem to fragile in-game to even convince me I'm driving a real car. On Chernarus, with all of it's city's and town's it really does not have that many vehicles, this leads to a great demand and a strong motivational factor to get one from other players, this and weapons is one of the main reasons I am killed. So to sum it up, Vehicles need to be more durable, and more vehicles! Also a Flat-bed truck to transport broken vehicles would be nice to XD. In-Game Radios/Cell phones. My brother suggested this to me, it would make the game interesting being able to pick up a radio, put it on a channel then talk In-Game to other players. I think that this would improve Game -play and generally make it feel more connected. Cell phones would be nice to call player in-game if that player had also found one. Player-Made Maps! DayZ's standard maps, can easily become well known and campers can easily set up on well known locations and go to town killing the new-spawns. I think that there should be a way to implement a way for new maps to at least get the code to make maps have loot tables, and zombies to spawn. In addition There needs to be ways to link the maps together on the same server, Such as: When entering a new area, a load screen occurs showing you a topographic map of the area. If entering large cities, you would see a street map with notable locations. In new areas It would put in relative location to where you went thru the border. If you went thru in a forest, you won’t spawn in an open field basically. A good size in my opinion would be county-size territories, or maybe 3/4 the size of cherno, then big cities would have their own as well, this would also keep people from sniping in and out of larger cities. Guns. I think that guns just need a huge overhaul; you should honestly be able to pick up a M4 then put whatever sights/attachments on to it. As well as use any ammunition in the same caliber that you wish. That really goes for every gun. Build. I think that the only thing that DayZ lacks is a way for long-term stuff...as I see it is, Spawn, Get good stuff, Die, Spawn, Rinse and repeat. DayZ really need a way to build up and survive, such as, dig holes and ditches fro water, then use that water to irrigate crops, which can be made into food. A way to use saw-mills to cut trees into planks, and make houses, or simple structures. I just think that the game needs a way for you to truly survive instead of the normal, Live-Die process of DayZ. So I know Rocket has addressed some of these things in some of his interviews, but there are a few he hasn’t, so I just wanted to share my thoughts and opinions on here.

    Loading into DayZ

I was wondering if there was a way to make the game to load in faster as it does in another game similar to this one. That is the only real major turn off I have with this game along with a few others i know. I love the game play and vehicles and such. It's the loading of the servers that is the issue.
  20. US 3465. All players got teleported. Saw tons of vehicles floating in the air above the teleport area, and heard about 2 dozen satchel charges go off. Killed a player I saw shooting other players, then disconnected after my combat status went away. When I logged back in about 2 minutes later, it said I had died and when I tried to spawn back in, I was in the debug plains.

A good non PvP server out there?

Unlike first person shooter games DayZ encourages a certain degree of cooperation for survival. Needing a partner for a transfusion, the ability to store gear in tents and vehicles, and the necessity of food make DayZ much more than a shoot on sight FPS...I've played those types of games, and while fun after a period of time they get boring. If your style is shoot on sight then cool, whatever floats your boat..but you're missing out on many aspects of the game that I find more interesting than shooting unarmed noobs from 500 yards away, or ambushing survivors for no other reason than I can. I play because of the cooperation required for survivors to thrive in a hostile environment. I know this makes me a pussy in the eyes of some, but the possibilities for social interaction in DayZ and the ability to form groups is much more interesting to me than shooting unarmed or unaware noobs in the back. The need for subsistence, a partner for blood transfusions, and the ability to store, save and trade gear make this a more social experience than a typical FPS...I enjoy finding gear, storing it and then giving it away or trading it more than I enjoy getting shot at, although a bullet whizzing by your ear is exciting. Don't get me wrong- I'm not complaining over getting shot, because that's part of the game and I usually congratulate those that get me. But DayZ is a much broader experience than a FPS, at least for me, and there's other aspects of the game I find more enjoyable than the shoot on sight mentality. Above all though, it's your game so play it how you like and have fun... it's all good.
  22. 1. Make the hatchet an actual hatchet and not a woodcutting axe. 2. More vehicles, less gas. 3. Quickdraw your sidearm.
  23. rmod looks like fun, what are the best servers for it with a decent playerbase, good admins, low hacker levels, plenty of vehicles, and medic friendly?

    help with server restart/ DaRT

It is currently not possible to reboot a server via DaRT. You can, however, reboot your server through ArmA 2 RCon. Note, that I believe rebooting your server in this fashion is unpredictable. I've had problems with vehicles/tents not spawning when i reboot using RCon as opposed to shutting down the server, then restarting it again.
