  1. 3 med boxes? Not sure what you are referring to. And there are plenty of vehicles throughout the server. If you want one every corner that you turn I would suggest that you go to a 400-800 vehicle server.

    I think no loot spawn either. But that's more of a technical problem, not a gameplay issue IMHO. I respectfully disagree with those who say vehicles are in opposition to what DayZ is about or not "realistic" for a zombie apocalypse. In films like the Romero Dead films, Zombieland, the Walking Dead, even Resident Evil, having ground and air transportation played a key role to the story. Realistically, you would have a hard time surviving a zombie infestation without some form of transport. I don't think it should be Grand Theft Auto, but having a bunch of half-fueled junkers that are just one bullet or bump from breaking a mile from the next town isn't bad. Don't worry, On the high vehicle server I've been playing on, the coast is still a shit storm!
  3. here is what i would really like to see now that bliss will support both versions of Taviana to be fair to every one 1 hosting package for .EU version and one for the .COM version since they have 2 different vehicle spawn files and do not work for both i have tried the fix's suggested but they still wont work and i have vehicles spawning that cant be seen or used

    Pegasus Company Diaries Day 3 Broken Wings. Despite their losses the bandits numbers were growing, they kept coming back stronger and stronger building new bases around the map acquiring all sorts of vehicles and kitting themselves up. It looks like a one sided battle but we have to hold strong, they still havn't found our main base but they are getting closer, a chopper has been seen coming in and out of a clearing 2 clicks south west of home base and it had been seen leaving recently. I was working along side Mitunzz and Morgan32 on this mission, unfortunately Fraggle was unable to join us but Steak and Potatoes and SirriXX were on route to the LZ from the north, our squad heading out from Gorka in a UAZ. The plan was to wait in ambush at their LZ and spring the trap when they were on the ground unaware or our presence, simple really and our last intel sad they had been airborne for at least 15 minutes so we had time to lay the trap. The path north lay quiet without any disturbance, SirriXX reported being only a Kilometer out from North Ridge of the valley they had camped in, we were about 3km out ourselves but moving at pace. The weather was clear, about mid day by the time we cut off road about a kilometer and a half from the LZ, SirriXX was withing 500m closing in on the North ridge, hoping our ambush would work, Steak however was having comms problems and ended up straying well north of the target area. Suddenly on our 6 a Russian M-17 flew over us and started descending into the clearing, hoping they hadn't seen us we rallied to the edge of the small forest encircling the LZ, jumping out of the UAZ Morgan32 and Mitunzz took the right flank at the opening of the clearing armed with high powered rifles, i chose to follow the forest along the south ridge armed with a M240, i was expecting close combat. The bandit crew had landed and gone straight to two UAZ's they had parked in the middle of the clearing next to a small bush, Mitunzz took aim, armed with the M107 anti-material rifle anything he struck would be instant KIA. As i crawl my way to the near edge of the clearing i hear the thunderous boom of the M107 tear through the small clearing, one of the bandits fall limp the other two scatter instantly out of my field of view, a few tense seconds passed as no one had eyes on the targets, two remained but well hidden, this is not how we intended things to go at all, SiiriXX was still another minute or so out and Steak was still struggling to get his bearings. Those two shots that echoed through the clearing, a numb silence followed as my comms fell dead, Those shots not from neither Mitunzz or Morgan32 but at them and both striking home efficiently. They stayed in the open after the first shot, a Rookies mistake, those bandits took the advantage and took the kills. SirriXX was just over the North ridge, i told her to hold up as i scanned for the two get aways, my M240 would be not much but a distraction from this range but if that is what t takes to win it will do. There they were running up the ridge towards SirriXX's position as she was heading to them. I never wanted to get SirriXX involved, she wasn't one for fighting but she insisted in helping us out, she wanted to rid Cherneraus as much as we did but i saw her as a medic, a caring person and one to never harm another, today though she was a soldier, willing to die in the bid to wipe out the bandits. She struck the first bandit cleanly, i tried in vain to distract the second by firing my M240 in bursts but the Bandit was fixed on SirriXX, avenging his friends death swiftly. Everything went quiet, For a moment the earth went cold, SirriXX was dead. Steak was running south now, pinned to our location by the gun fire, i see the bandit running back across to my north darting between the trees. I fire short sharp bursts at him in between the trees forcing him into the path of the oncoming Steak and Potatoes, their encounter was brief, Steak having the upper hand knowing his target was heading right for him, a couple of shots and it was all over, we had won but at a costly price. We lost 3 good people that day, Mitunzz was a young soldier, keen as you like and always willing to get on with the task at hand. Morgan32, more of a quiet guy but a crack shot, he made a rookie mistake that cost him his life, that wasn't how he normally was.... SirriXX went above and beyond the call of duty, volunteering to fight with us and making the ultimate sacrifice whilst dealing a blow to the enemy, im deciding wether to name the new medical facility after her, it only seems right. We hurt them but not as much as they hurt me, we have pushed them further south but at what cost, our forces are stretched thin and with the increase in bandits gaining supplies is becoming ever more deadly, things need to change.... but what can be done??

    1: Military loot: Why don't we take away every possibility to get military gear from a predefinied loot spawn. What do i mean with this? Well it's very simple: -no more Baracks -no more Hangars -no more military tents -etc. Why? Because it could be a solution to counter power-looting by rejoining new servers and raiding those lootspawns several times in a row. Military loot should only be found on heli crashes and probabely destroyed military convois and roadblocks or even stranded military boads which randomly spawn on the map. This would increase the vale of military loot. 2: Start gear At the moment every player has the same starter gear: -1 coyote patrol pack -1 painkillers -1 flashlight -1 bandage but would this be the case in an apocalypse? in my opinion, there should could be a random selection of items and equipment when you respawn, for example a percentage of chance that you spawn without any backpack or with an alicepack or even a coyote backpack. it could be possible to spawn with a watch equipped and with a compass or a gun but without any flashlight or bandages. there are infinite possibilities of how you respawn. why don't we randomize everything about it? the only selectable thing should be your gender. even a random skin would be amazing, so not every player looks the same anymore... 3: cars at the moment cars only spawn at certain places (if i see this right) why is there norandom spawnplace for vehicles? it would be much more luck to get one instead of just checking every carspawn after a server restart. 4: player spawnlocations: at the moment every new player spawns on the beach, which makes it very easy for campers to shoot them, as it is a respectively small and overwatchable area. also, there are just a few places where they can go to get better gear, which are Electro and Cherno. if there was a random player spawn anhywhere on the map, noone would be able to spawnkill them and they could easily reach every possible looting area without having to fear a sniper shooting them when they enter a small town. this would decentralize the pvp on the map and cherno and electro wouldn't be as dangerous anymore as they are now (this is of course an example for the actualy DayZ map Chernarus) i hope my english wasn't too bad and you understand what i actually want to say :P i appreaciate every comment and critics :)

  7. Hello guys I have been wondering around DayZ for ages and I was looking for somebody that could get me a car for pretty much anything they want. Sounds crazy I know but my clan has loads of guns AS50's and all that stuff but they don't have any vehicles. We were recently ambushed by a group of bandits and lost our only car which was a UAZ. I will settle for pretty much any other car or truck. Im offering 3 AS50's full tools, ghillie suit whatever you want really. Hive server please respond A.S.A.P
  8. The timer should start if you're outside the red and inside the yellow area. I don't think so. The timer just stops and continues by re-entering yellow area again. Anyway, the timer is up to 10 minutes. It could happen that new loot is already spawned after, let's say, 3 minutes. Spawn does only happen within the yellow area. As long as there is noone in, a given timer stops. If never anyone had been in, a new timer would be generated, dito if a previous timer has ran up. My experience: Loot does de- and respawn, but not entirely, and I don't know when this happens. I think it has to do with the timer. Once I was with a friend of mine at the barracks at the airfield, I waited beneath a loot pile with a precious gun so it does not despawn (our backpacks have been way to full :P ). The friend searched for our vehicle so we could store it there, but he need to go rather far away for that. Even while I was sitting all the time next to that gun, it disappeared, and partially new loot piles were given. Due to the time he need for the search and driving, he must re-enter the yellow area, and it took more than ten minutes, so the precious loot pile was gone while other crap still remains. :( So if there's something you urgently want to have, hurry up and waste less valuable things so you can pick them up! I can also confirm the existance of alternating loot piles. Now that I know that ammo and backpacks are not counted as loot for regenerating, more things become much clearer. :D Thanks a lot for this technical look! Anyway, I don't count such information as cheating, because it's a technical background. For comparisation, Minecraft has a big Wiki and for that a lot of information, too, one can use for own (and others!) purpose. What I'm missing is exactly such information in a powerful wiki. Information about @DayZ are on the one hand very common but on the other hand rarely deep-going. I'm highly technically interested, and it's making fun having success with altering well-known triggers. B) At last, it's horrible to see detailed cheating instructions with no cruel while I was searching for respawn mechanisms. A question I have to add: How and when spawn vehicles? I'm not very lucky with my server database. Very few usable vehicles are spawned, and those spawned are mostly totally damaged. Arr. As long as there is no legal way to get rid of pesky vehicles, I need to dump the db part for the them. :(

  11. Lingor server needs help filling up as does the Chernarus server! Lingor has a 14/50 player daily we'd like to reach atleast 30 players daily! Chernarus hasnt had that much advertising as its only a week old! Its a realistic server for the hardcore. Still with 150+ Vehicles and 6 Choppers.

  15. if you have a surround sound headset you are at a huge advantage because you can sound whore or whatever its called and hear people talking on direct on side pretty much anything you do can be heard. if you don't have a surround sound headset my advice would be to turn down your game music or whatever you play in the background and just have your effects on highest it helps in general with hearing agro and vehicles.

I think with vehicles being a more viable idea in the stand alone this is certainly an excellent idea, making running from place to place like a marathon athlete does seem kinda unrealistic though I support it with the mod given that it would take -hours- to really do anything from one town to another on foot. Walking along the road with nothing but scenery porn to look at as you go? Eh, I'll pass on that. That being said, since vehicles are supposedly going to be a bit easier to repair in the stand alone I don't think this is a terribad idea. If there were more cities and more buildings to explore within cities to find supplies to fix cars and become more mobile then getting from one city to another wouldn't be all that hard. Though if the map Chernarus stays as it is and doesn't add anymore buildings to cities and small towns to explore and root around for supplies in then honestly... I can't say I support this idea, the prime reason I feel being able to run forever in DayZ is that there's nothing to do otherwise unless you can get from one town to another within a few minutes with a really fast jaunt.

    Rocket already stated more vehicles will be available but finding gasoline and parts will be the equivalent of finding 5 m16's in a fire station pretty uncommon in other words.

    Can you play dayz alone - For long??

    Right now I can't find my mic, and I'm too lazy to buy another one, so I've been playing solo. It's pretty good for training yourself in sneaking ability, as if you get caught you are dead. It's also a good way to "gear up" before going to other, more populated, servers. Mostly due to the reduction in chance that some random twat will headshot you for no particular reason. It also has some big disadvantages. Namely, no one to talk to. Considering the good chance that I may go insane if I don't talk to anyone for too long in game, I invented Fred the pacifist zombie, who I talk to in the close-by chat when I get bored of bean hunting. He is quiet, has contempt for his fellow zeds, and likes rugby. There is also the problem of reconstructing vehicles. Normally you could have one person carry the tire or petrol and the other people armed with shotguns and guard them on the way back to the car, but with solo you have to either not use vehicles, or just be very sneaky and hope you don't aggro any zeds.

    pretty much your better off finding something like a Ural for the 200/50/10 capacity or possibly just getting some more vehicles and using them as mobile bases.

    What he said. I'll add to that by saying that the defensible solution would be to make sure that your motivations for adding vehicles are sound. If you're adding vehicles so you, as the admin, can play with them and nothing else... well, I'd stay away from that. If you're motivation is to add balanced spawn points and you intend to not utilize them so your server population can enjoy the expanded experience... you're in good shape. On our server, we have a 'we'll try anything' approach to vehicles. We'll test them in editor or in a remote area of the map(and only on each other) to see if the inclusion is warranted, then we'll do a short test run of adding a few spawns as an expanded test. If the vehicle passes these tests, we add more spawns, always making sure that the more powerful vehicles are in spawn locations that make repairing said vehicle a total bitch. Then we do not touch these vehicles. We're admins, not players - the server is there for others gameplay.

    It's OK To Not to Love PVP

    Before I start, I just wanna clarify that I've never geared up and gone down south purposely for PvP and can honestly say the only time I camp around Electro/Cherno is to countersnipe or gear up quickly. I also want to add I have a conscience and haven't betrayed someone and always feel some guilt for shooting on sight so I'm not flat out a bandit. My only argument with people who are against PvP and look down on banditry is realistically what else do you have to do? You can't tell me killing infinite spawning zeds is particularly fun, there's no reward in doing that anyway. Vehicles as a end game? I've been there, spent 3 hours searching for a wheel for example - boring. I've played on the 3-5 people max private hives who all know eachother, geared up with enough guns to start a small war to the point me and my buddy were ditching good gear because it was completely pointless hording anymore and...it's boring. I hopped on a 30+ pop at all times server, grabbed a akm and had a blast with no gear at all with plenty of PvP/player interaction. If everyone was friendly, there would be no tension at all in the game. It makes me laugh when people cry about there being no friendlies in game and being killed because they have good loot/ghillie which is only useful against players. Otherwise we'd all grab a common gun, like a Enfield, matches/hatchet/knife and a water bottle and just walk around the map. I've played on a few servers with medics/people giving taxi rides, role playing or just trolling people and I can understand that's fun but if there wasn't PvP in the game no other playstyles would exist IMO. PvP makes day-z what it is imo. And I'm aware i'm in the minority but I pray the standalone remains a hostile/PvP environment and isn't just spent grinding for various meds/supplies for days on end focused on PvE.

    I don't think it's good for the game to exaggerate the bugs by adding more vehicles. When you're in a vehicle, no zombies spawn. Enough said.

Objective #2 - Gorka In order to capture Gorka, you must have 10 soldiers for your team standing safely in front of the church. In order to win the WAR, your team must capture at least one Objective first and then seize the other team's castle. Where: PCGN will defend Devil's Castle Invaders will defend Rog Castle When: Friday, 14 DEC 2012 at 2000 hrs Eastern Time (8 p.m.) Why: For control of Chernarus How: PCGN and the Invaders will move swiftly to capture key terrain. Some portion of your team must defend your team’s castle. Your team MUST first occupy one of the Objectives before beginning the capture of the other team’s castle. If you lose control of the Objective you were occupying, you may not continue the assault on the other team’s castle. The criteria to WIN is when all human opposition have been eliminated from the other team’s castle. General Instructions: PCGN will start with a Ural stocked full of supplies. Invaders will start with a V3S stocked full of supplies. Each castle base will come preloaded with the following: - 1 x Ural or V3S (as outlined above) - 1 x Huey UH-1H - 1 x Off Road (Landrover) - 1 x UAZ - 1 x Quad - 1 x Motorcycle In addition to the described vehicles above spawning at each team’s castle, the normal vehicle spawn locations will be populated with the standard vehicles. You may steal, blow up, hide, or any other possible interaction in-game with the opposing team's vehicles.
