You take what you can carry, no tents or vehicles. Position etc stays the same but that's only on public servers, private hives means a fresh start on that server. Build new tents go back to old ones collect move repeat until new tents are full.

I have come to the realisation that this is not about play style, yes I agree the whole server issue making things too easy etc.. But that was not my point. I too love the survival aspect and you slate me on my play style which is to use the means available to me within the game to survive to the best of my ability. If that means I stock up on weapons and build a base then so be it! My point was that is how I play and I did no see the point of doing so on servers that are not secure from hackers and because SA is around the corner then I choose not to pour hour of game play in to my interpretation of surviving a post apocalyptic zombie world. What do you want? All weapons tents vehicles removed so you can crawl around zombies eating cans of beans because that's your interpretation of surviving? If this where to happen in the real world I pity those who do not live my play style, because I for one will kos for your can of beans end of story, and because within the game I can re spawn I will re equip my gear at my base and do it again because someone has to find the gear for your lazy play style. I am sorry but it makes me angry that this has become about play style when it has nothing to actually do with it.. Read back I did not once say that I prefer servers like the ones being described, I simply stated the fact that after many months of playing I am now passing time by playing they so called easy servers because once again will say I do not see the point in playing the game how I play it when my work put in is pointless with SA and hackers. Yes I will build my base in SA and yes I will camp and yes I will kos don't like it cry about it idk. @ op, what has this become about your vision of the game?

A server that has it's own private player 'database' (hive) rather than using the official 'database' (hive). As a result they can run different maps, loot spawns, starting load outs, vehicles and vehicle spawns. They also have custom banned lists and a (usually) dedicated admin -

Man everyone saying that surrendering is a bad idea, I hate when all I want is you to drop your rifle, handgun and pack so I can pick from your supplies maybe even give you a hand but you people always have to fidget or pull a gun on me and force me to put you down. I prefer doing that instead of just killing people, saves me from wearing that ridiculous bandit skin and also adds to the role-play. Me and my group once tried to hold up 2 players with an ATV and a car that were driving up and down the western roads, we posted 1 machine-gunner down the road, another gunner a little up the road while I stood at a gas station waiting for them to drive through. As they came over the hill I told them to stop the vehicles or we would stop them, sure enough the dumb asses sped up straight into a wall of machine-gun fire. Both were killed , the car blew up and we later recovered the ATV. When people try to hold you up, co-operate. -

You know you could have found the answer to this if you looked a server providers websites, anyway with a private hive server you can kick, ban etc also you can spawn in vehicles and weapons and even buildings but you need to know how to do it and also if you do spawn them in the players are going to find out very quickly and just leave your server, the one thing you should be hosting a server for is to create a nice friendly place for people to play. Also you will get moaned at every time your on your server if your an admin, if you kick someone for a legit reason like spamming their mic in side chat then will just complain, so think before you decide to host one. -
I've seen these posts countless times and its starting to get annoying. You want to play this game as bad as the rest of us.. otherwise you wouldn't be on the forums making posts like this. So stop being a fanboy and a poser. As many have said, its not the time that everyones mad about. Its the broken promises and lack of communication. If he just made ONE POST or even ONE SENTENCE to answer us instead of ignoring everyone.. he wouldn't be so "swamped with questions about SA" and he'd be less "stressed". He should not be stressed at all about the whole WarZ situation. This kind of stuff happens all the time in the gaming industry. Thats why theres been 50 WoW and COD clones. People will ALWAYS copy successful games to try and make money..Its just a matter of who makes it the best. WarZ is a piece of shit and so is that Russian idiot who made it. The Day Z mod is even better than it. But they released it early in order to beat Day Z SA and start making money. Soon it will have vehicles and new maps, which some might consider better than the mod. The longer Dean waits on launch, the harder it will be to compete with the slowly improving War Z. Which is why it needs to be released ASAP. Most people don't care who started the idea, they won't wait for this kinda game when theres one already out. He previously redid the map, the inventory, clothing, the weather system, zombies, and greatly optimized the game. THATS ENOUGH. As Rocket said himself, he needs to release a foundation, and add features along the way. Rocket has 2 deadlines, one from both Bohemia and WarZ. If it isn't released in a month or two, I fear WarZ will leave Day Z in the dust.

Check out the Cherno Journo's interview with Mandalore. This seems to be a popular play style, especially for solo players. I nearly always play solo and I've found that avoidance is the best option assuming that survival is your primary goal. Of course, you could theoretically survive indefinitely without ever having to go near trafficked areas, but that would be boring. At the moment, My goal is to assemble 2-3 camps with similar equipment, weapons, vehicles, etc so that if I get killed I can gear up again without having to run all over the damn place. I stay behind the treeline, go into the smaller towns like Pustoshka, Polana, Zelenogorsk, and Berezino if I really need the medical supplies, and hit up deer stands, barns, and heli crash sites for my weapons and ammo. If I see another player, I avoid them as long as I can. If I can't avoid them, I kill them. I'm on day 18 at this point, which is the longest I've ever survived.

Thanks for getting us onto dayzland 1.2 ersan :beans: but i am seeing a few problems with buildings not spawning in even though they are in the buildings and instance buildings table correctly? i also can't find the correct class id's for the new vehicles but have contacted dayzland in there own thread to see if they can show some light onto that problem. Finally getting 1.2 onto my server but need to try and find out some class id's so i can spawn in the new vehicles specifically the SUV colours options and the USEC maule, i have tried using these> kh_maule_m7_white kh_maule_m7_white_DZ but they did not spawn in after a restart so not sure whats going wrong and i couldn't find anywhere a class id for the suv's in alternate colours ? Also it seems refuelling does work already in this version so that's a bonus :) -

We've finally upgraded to Taviana 2.0. Thanks go to the Taviana.com guys, Ayan for the Bliss code, and Ersan at DayZ.st for making deployment possible. Taviana 2.0 looks to be running like a charm so far. We're excited to see what you guys think of it. Some highlights of recent changes below: We've noticed that quite a few of our European players are suffering lag spikes that put them over the 350 ping limit. The ping limit has been raised to compensate - usually the pings are quite reasonable, and we think a player suffering an occasional lag spike shouldn't mean the loss of the helicopter they were flying. Note that we haven't been asked to raise the limit; we noticed an issue and took steps to correct it. If this ends up raising other issues, we'll revisit the change and continue the workflow from there. The vehicles in the image above just got out of the initial testing phase. We will be moving to the secondary testing phase, where small numbers are let into the wild to see how they perform. Usually this is done with a small amount of spawn points, but since these are already on the map... First come first serve to whoever recognizes the location. :) Once we can gather enough feedback, we'll move into deployment. We're particularly excited about the UAZ with DShKM HMG turret. While easily the most powerful ground-based weapon system yet introduced, it is balanced by the very open gunner position. We're hoping that widespread deployment of this system will help break the stranglehold helicopter-using groups have had on the server to date. More on this later. The repair vehicles are of special concern to us, as they threaten to break the scavenging requirement to the vehicle operation game. On the other hand, they provide the only method of repairing certain aircraft. We'll be keeping a close eye on them, and their effect on the server. The grand experiment that was the AH-64D will most likely be coming to a close for the imminent future. We had certain expectations that had to be met in order to retain this aircraft - chiefly being a high turnover rate - and these expectations have not been met. As a consequence, we're more or less moving testing into another phase: AH-64Ds will not respawn any longer, and the handful of existing aircraft will be closely monitored to see how they fair in the new higher-threat environment presented by the enhanced ability for ground forces to effectively engage air threats. Note: If you're one of the few that have managed to obtain and hold onto an Apache, your aircraft will not be taken from you in the night. We're not in the business of taking your hard work away from you, even if it was us that miscalculated the impact on gameplay that these aircraft would bring. For those not familiar with the AH-64D in The Shack, its Hydra rockets and Hellfire missiles are not operational, but the 30mm chain gun certainly is. It appears to be somewhat less survivable than the Mi-17 in the armor department. So far, pilots appeared to have issues dealing with the combination of low visibility, aggressive terrain altitude gradients, and poor high-speed handlings with this airframe. Most AH-64D losses have been to accidents of one type or another. The second most common cause of AH-64D destruction has been at the hands of another AH-64D pilot. Only one pilot has admitted to losing an AH-64D to ground fire. We expect these ratios to change with the inclusion of the HMG-armed UAZ, but by far the most unbalancing feature of the AH-64D is the combination of armament and radar. These two features put together makes for an unbalanced seek-and-destroy vehicle, and we're frankly looking forward to the remaining examples to be lost to attrition. For those that missed the AH-64D boat, there are still a specific number of unclaimed examples in the wild, or you may be able to obtain one through more nefarious means. Moving forward, we're going to be making the far-fetched request to the Tavi.com guys to include a radarless and ammo-restricted attack helicopter of Russian pedigree - perhaps the Mi-24 or KA-52. An air threat greater than the UH-1H and Mi-17 remains a goal of The Shack, as is access to increased capability for ground forces to deal with such aircraft. That's all for now. As always, we invite players of any type and any time zone to join us in the mayhem - currently the most active time bracket is the morning, so we're especially looking for some night guys to beef up numbers there. If you're a heli pilot, you'll find your services in demand here as most of the playerbase is not versed in the operation of aircraft. If you're a friendly, there are plenty of friendlies that the experienced guys can point you towards. If you're a bandit hunter, well, a group of bandits has claimed the entire western island and there are players on here that would love for you to do something about that. Come and check out this server folks. Lots and lots of modifications to the map. Plenty of vehicles and weapons. New weapons! (Search Dawnz topic on these forums for a list of the weapons added) Very active admins. I really wonder if the lead admin ever sleeps. been having alot of fun here but there is one thing missing...a good suply of bandits. Most players on the server are freindly survivors and I wannna shoot me some towel headed bandits! Server is usaully whitelisted/password protected but it frequently gets unlocked during peak times for new people to come check it out. If password is on you will need to PM TheTang here on the forums for the PW. Anyway, come check it out and have some fun with us and give me some targets to aim for! BTW my name on the server is Blargon7 if you wanna come gun for me. Also, if you are a 24/7 daylight wuss you may wanna go somewhere else. there is night time (the best time) on this server.

When we go out on a mission we go out in a group, get close to the waypoint and then split up, we don't need to get our asses kicked because we were all lined up like a free head-shot store. If there is someone in side chat requesting help, alert your field commander of the distress call (I know no one is watching side chat 24/7 but if you happen to spot something, alert your field captain, he will establish a plan to help them, and at the same time be on your toes in-case it's a trap.) While I may not be playing you will still do what I say, by mid to late February I will have a computer, and I will make sure everything is in order. Servers with their own Hives can do pretty much anything. Including, but not limited to; - Custom starting load-out or entirely new weapons from outside of DayZ. - Custom vehicle spawns or entire vehicles. - Custom day/night cycle. (Permanent day/night, or set the time to what ever they want to.) - Ability to enable/disable chat channels. (direct/vehicle/group/side-chat) -

DayZ is mostly based on land which fun but it would be cool to add a new dimension to the game. By introduction of Vehicles such as ferries and barge that can transport large numbers of players with the addition of other Vehicles, your island bases will be that much better with other land vehicles at your disposal. Adding a large ship a 1 per server spawn would hopefully give the same rections as the UH-1H for control over a rare item in the game. The ship could be used as a fortified moving base, it would obviously need a lot of repairs and take time to get it to working condition. This would bring out dangerous mission for attacks on the barge and control over the sea. The ship would have to dock and be filled with fuel the sight of a large ship on the horizon would obviously bring a lot of attention and attract snipers an players into one of those epic player interactions situations we love in dayZ.

I enjoyed playing on this server for many weeks until recently. Long story short, some newer admins have a short fuse for combat logging. Usually that is okay, but perception is not reality. In my case, I was spotted by some chopper apparently and a group of people with admin powers saw me and decided I must have also seen them, which I didn't. I logged out to do my business and logged back in to a bullet to the head, which doesn't make much sense if I had just combat logged, but my explanation of this logic didn't go over well and a lot of miscommunications and misunderstandings led to me being banned. These "false positives" had been seeming to happen more and more often as of late, as more people were recently given some admin powers. The burden of proof is on the one who asserts something (that I combat logged) and not the other way around. But, I digress. All of this aside, the map is fun and the many castles and vehicles made it pretty easy to play on. The night cycle was a bit rough to deal with here, but the added loot spots/buildings all around the map made it lucrative to loot, but the player count suffered. Having many vehicles makes it less likely to have hoarded vehicles, and after flying over the map people are getting better at hiding their camps. The NEAF was more busy than the NWAF here. Ultimately, if the management of the server improves and players who deny allegations have a fair shake in dealing with accusations, I'd have to say it would be one of the best servers out there; this type of thing just seems to have spoiled a formerly great place to hang out. -

I am about to tell you a little story of a day at DayZ So there i was, just newly spawned between Elektro and Cherno on the server: 85.114.153.210:10200 I saw a helicopter flying a bit violently, in the air until it landed, sneaky me was hiding underneath a bridge nearby. I heard a rapidfiring AS50 or M107, a couple of cars got destroyed, and i saw a box. A box which apparently all fellas from the helicopter saw interesting. I knew it was a so called cheat box, and yes of course i wanted some of that sweet loot, so i waited them out, but they apparently knew where i was. And one of the fellas went out to shoot me with a AS50 / M107 - so i respawned just about 3 kilometers away from that sweet box. meanwhile my buddy Casper confronted the scripter over sidechat, he also told admin to look at the logs to see if there has been anything odd lately, but the admin refused. Just moments after he confronted admin, he got kicked by admin. Just after that the admin wrote again "I dont see anything strange". and just after that he told he'd restart the server in 5 minuttes. At that point i knew the admin was the scripter, it was so obvious. So i wrote in side chat that admin was the scripter and BAM. I got banned by admin. And there ends the little adventure. Tyvm for your time to read my little story, about this server where the admin is a scripter. We have a new server and we are looking for people / clans / groups to join and hopefully become resident. **The server is currently on the Taviana (v1.7.4.4) map with a LOT of vehicles, including working fuel trucks, multiple helicopters (inc Littlebird) and Humvees etc. As soon as we can, we will upgrade the map to v2.0 of Taviana to make use of the new vehicles and game mechanics** A Bit About Us Our clan is called Team Blindside and we include members from the US, Canada, UK and Norway. We are friendly but we like pvp in DayZ!. We came from Battlefield 3 originally. We have tried WarZ, but we all agree it's a pile of crap :) We will give you a period of at least 48hrs to get set up with supplies, guns and any vehicles you may find after you first join. Hallo liebe DayZmod-Community! wollen euch heute unseren Brandneuen DayZ rMod Server vorstellen. WTF ist der rMod ? -> Der rMod schaltet alle in Armar 2 + OA vorhandenen Fahrzeuge für DayZ frei. ... kurz mehr Fahrzeuge und vor allem viele verschiedene. Von alten Motorrad bis zum bewaffneten Militär Jeep. Falls ihr den rMod bereits Installiert habt einfach Joinen ! Habt ihr dies noch nicht getan sucht euch im Internet eine passende Anleitung oder fragt einen der Admins im TeamSpeak die euch gerne dabei helfen werden. Wieso Beanz Int.? Wir haben momentan einen kleinen DayZ und TeamSpeak³ Server am Laufen. Unser Server ist Passwort geschützt und hat einige Mod's installiert. Um den normalen Spielern abwechslung bieten zu können, haben wir ein Basen-Build System aufgesetzt und mehr Fahrzeuge auf der Map verteilt. Außerdem hat der Server Admin einige erfahrungen mit DayZ Servern, sprich wenn die Official DayZ Developers mal wieder das Spiel durch Updates unspielbar machen, ist das i.d.R. nach 2-3 Tagen gefixt. Unser Angebot an Events : - PVP - Rally - Derby uvm =) Spezialtrader day an dem man in der Adminbase Spezialwaffen gegen anderen Items eintauschen kann. Regeln & Anforderungen für den Server: Bei uns gibt es außer dem Mindestalter nur ein paar wenige Regeln. Mindestalter: ab 16 Jahren. Die Anmeldung bzw. It is larger than Dayz original map. There are plenty of vehicles respawn but it doesn't occure so often. With other words, there aren't so many vehicles in this map. You have two islands with great landscape :) Just look at map on dayzdb.com/map

I added the A10, MH6J_EP1, & UH60M_MEV_EP1. My map tool shows they have spawned and are on the map but when I got to the grid ref they are supposed to be there is nothing there. I added these vehicles to the spawns table & the objects. Are these vehicles banned from dayz? Is there a way I can unban them if so?

No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. It doesn't matter if you only cheated on your own private server. Cheating on BE-enabled servers is forbidden, period. A shared or stolen cd-key is no excuse. It's your own responsibility to ensure that no one else has access to it. No details about your ban (including evidence) will be revealed. Hackers would love to have access to this information. If you cheated you will have to live with the consequences. Global bans are permanent and no exceptions will be made. Questions regarding how exactly to get unbanned will not be answered. No support will be given on how to buy a new game or change your cd-key. I bolded the pertinent information.. Thanks for responding though.
