This is an amazing server with active admins on around the clock, have not seen any hackers on this server yet. Once I found this server I haven't stopped playing on it, very friendly group of regulars and admins. I am based in Australia and get a very good ping. Vehicles are perfect, just the right balance so you can actually find vehicles and choppers, but everyone doesn't have one. One of, if not the best Dayz server! -
Age (Be Honest): 19 In Game Name: Ethenstien Country/Timezone: USA/GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time) Are You Active?: Yes, I play on Thursday through Sunday. 4 or 5 PM until 1 or 2 AM. Experience In Dayz: I have played Chernarus on and off for the last 5 months. haven't tried other maps though. Have You Worked In A Team Before?: Yes, I often game with groups. And was part of a Dayz team for roughly two months. I can play any role you need me to, but I prefer a sniper/overwatch position. Mainly because my sound has been glitchy for a few patches, and footsteps near me tend to be super quiet. I know most of the main routes around Chernarus by memory, and can navigate almost the entire game world without a map. I have experience driving most of the vehicles, excluding the heli, and the small, super slow boat.I have been an observer for most of my time playing, as I prefer to keep unknown players at a distance. Would like to talk to you, will pm you my skype name. And I hope to see you in-game!

Incredibly awesome idea in theory. But to facilitate the number of players on any given server you would need massive apartment buildings. These areas would become killing zones being farmed by bandits. Even the do-gooders being attracted to fight the bandits would cause enough of a problem for me to move. What about finding rare lockable footlockers. You could not use the footlocker until it's deployed and it can only be deployed once. (would use 4 inventory spaces prior to deployment) The lockable footlocker could be broken into with enough shots fired at it. But it would still be relatively easy to hide when compared to a tent. But remember the more crap you add the world the slower you make the database keeping track of it all. I could be wrong but I would assume the world would load faster without all the barbed wire, tents, parked vehicles and other player modified objects the database is keeping track of.

I like your ideas. They're pretty obvious and wouldn't be hard to implement. Essentially it would make bodies count as minor collisions with respect to vehicles. Also ducking would be as simple as enabling the CROUCH button in the vehicle. Lower the hitbox below the windshield and lower player vision below the steering wheel. Easy and sensible! -
The point the following suggestions is to make driving a vehicle more immersive and more and action-packed. The first suggestion is to make running over zombies or players more realistic-ish. What I recommend is making it so that if you hit someone, they don't just fall over dead. They affect the car in some way. For example: You hit a zombie, the zombie might go under the car, beside the car, or over the car. What effects could this have? Well, of course, dents, but let's say zombie goes over the car. What if it could damage the windshield by cracking it or smashing it? I think it would jsut be a cool cinematic feature. My second suggestion is the ability to duck behind the dash in the car. I'm suggesting it because I saw a video where a guy managed to headshot a guy in a car because the driver tried to ram him. What is that person could duck like in real-life? He would've avoided the bullets, but he would've been blind. I just think it would be interesting to add. Anyways, that's my suggestion. Peace.

Yo. I play in US #500 usually. Its a relatively low pop server so there aren't as many d-bags, although it has it's peak hours. My name's HappyMrSnowman ingame and on STEAM. I usually roll with a buddy of mine on the east coast of the map. We don't have any vehicles yet, but we have some medical supplies and spare weaps. Give me a PM if you're seriously interested and I can give you my SKYPE name so we can meet up sometime. I won't promise I'll always play with you, but we can have some good times if you wanna join up -
Since DayZ is a game and is for our entertainment how about some "Hollywood" style additions to the mod/standalone? Some suggestions: - Vehicles explode when hitting an inanimate object (except boxes/water containers below) - Empty boxes / filled water containers strewn across the road so we can hit them whilst in a high speed chase - One shot to a fuel tank causes a massive explosion - Jerry cans can be used to leave a trail of petrol which can be lit with matches or a flare. Witty one liner compulsory when lighting the fuel. - Locked doors can be opened with one shot from a gun (you have to wince and look away when making the shot) - If another player bandages you, romantic music starts to play and you have an option for a steamy love scene - Bandits always miss the Hero, the Hero always kills the bandits with one shot. - Helicopters can be brought down with one shot of a Makarov through the windscreen - Guns jam at the most inopportune time - Your last shot will ALWAYS kill a zombie or player Any others? I am sure Rocket will watch this thread with avid interest and put as many of these suggestions in game.

This is a new clan/group to play in Chernarus and maybe the other maps :) We will act as a partisan group - minimum direct engagements, small groups for mobility and minimum losses. We will concentrate on hunting down bandits and helping out non-aggressive players that need help. If you like these ideas, don't hesitate and join in :) Just write something about yourself, what skills you posses and how can we contact you (steam, skype etc.). Positions: Marksman - Ideally the main assault force. Scouting, Overwatch and support for others. Two guys in one team, so even if you're not perfectly skilled with a sniper rifle, you can still do the spotting and close combat support if you get attacked :) Transport / Engineering - you will mainly be responsible for driving others to towns, saving their asses and acquiring new vehicles (best if you can fly a helli). Supplies / Medic - doing supply runs, helping out Engineers etc Assault team - Direct engagements with players. Best if you're skilled with close combat guns and assault rifles. (It would be best if you have skype. and live in the united states but we are accepting everyone.) This does not mean that you will be confined to your position, anybody will be able to just change up what he's doing as long as the skills are there (no point being the engineer if you can't drive properly :D)

UK417 StormerClan Admin Ban (Remote Code Restriction by DayZ Antihax)

I was playing on this server the last night when it was turned into a hackers playground (despite all sorts of apparent anti hacking measures). They were spawning vehicles, teleporting beside players and shooting them with high powered guns (badly), initiating Gangnam style dancing etc etc(this is the first time I've seen a lot of this kind of thing in ages too). Anyhoo my mate got banned after he got in a heli (probably hacked one) and crashed it. Then me and another mate got on a motorbike but it was not a kind I've seen before (old style) though I'm not even sure what is meant to be in the game and what isn't these days. Anyway I got off to find some things to fix it up and a hacker teleported to him and killed him so I just logged off since the whole server was a mess. I logged in tonight to find I have been admin banned. I really enjoyed playing on this server as it is always full and pretty intense so I would like to appeal my ban. Thanks -
They break the glass in vehicles now. Does anyone know how this impacts re-fuelling a chopper? Do the choppers still leak fuel when the glass is broken? If so, that totally sucks.

So yesterday I was on a Lingor server that had 400+ vehicles. I find a ATV and take it to the NE Airfield. As I arrive I start hearing shots from a DMR way down the runway. I brush it off and continue searching the hangar-triangle looking things (lol idk what their called). At the third hangar thing, a bandit with a SVD walks right inside and trys to annihilate me with his G17. Fortunately for me, he was a terrible shot. :) At that time i was armed with a crossbow, so I thought I was done for. I blindly notch one of the arrows and pull the trigger, not caring where the arrow goes. To my amazement the man crumpled to the floor and died. I looted him and got a SVD and G17. After that I found a HUMVEE and drove it for two minutes till I encountered another HUMVEE that wanted to destroy me. I died and logged off. End of story. :P

On the EU version, I was able to add vehicles and fit them with custom loadouts. The different skins did not work and was stuck with the infamous Russian punk rocker getup. Also, the GPS coordinates did not match the in game map coordinates. Some people that tried to join were hit with Battleye errors and others did not which was the main reason I pulled it. I'd rather have Bliss behind it and an active dev team supporting and working out the issues.

So, after playing with some friends on that server for a while a couple of hours ago everyone on the server got banned (by admin). No idea why. Can't find a way to contact the admin either. Anyone got a helpful idea? -

This is a really nice lower population server. When there are 20 players on it, and a few small teams on teamspeak, it's really fun and challenging. The admin spends a lot of time getting the latest version stable and the gameplay balanced. The moderate player count with the higher vehicle spawn means you have a good chance of gearing up nicely, whilst still experiencing some exciting, unexpected, pulse-inducing PVP encounters. You can also usually manage to keep your vehicles and choppers for a several days (sometimes weeks for well-hidden motorbikes and ATVs). Tents were set to stay 99 days after death, but now they will disappear 4 days after death regardless of whether they are regularly accessed. So maintaining more than one or two tents is not really practical any more. The focus has therefore switched to obtaining and keeping one or two of the 35 vehicles, which seems to be providing the reasons for most PVP moments lately (although a few players need no reason!). It would be great to see 10-25 players on the server most nights, but just now it is fairly quiet; mostly hovering around 5-10 players. If you're looking for a good survival server, you should definitely try WIREWORLD as an alternative to the death-match focused, high-population servers. -
Bliss is supporting the other version (dayztaviana.com) instead due to drama with the dayzland.eu creators (I think the one causing the most problems is AlexSpain). They want to be able to decide who's allowed to host 'their' map (and have been very vocal about companies like us not being allowed to host it). They've pissed enough people (ayan-bliss lead developer, dotjosh-dayzcommander developer, vilayer/hfb and even us to some extent) that everyone is dropping support for them, so their version of the map will fall into obscurity soon enough I'm sure - there will be barely any servers running it when we switch (we host 35% of all servers running the map). You should still be able to customize the other version, in fact it's probably going to be far more customizable than most maps from what I've been told. I liked and was trying to support the dayzland.eu version because it had a lot of work done to it, tons of vehicle spawnpoints, different player skins, vehicles that were modified specifically for the map, and more. I have not yet tried the dayztaviana.com version but I talk to one of the developers fairly often and they know what they are doing. What I don't know is if there is an easy way to transition between versions, so any changes you have right now may or may not need to be wiped when you switch. (there will be plenty of warning so don't worry about it) - I'm trying to find a way to migrate without resetting databases currently, but some of the vehicles are different between the maps.

@BOX I think a tutorial would not be necessary. The Arma2 editor is so extremely easy to use. I am not the person who invented the wheel (iow: I am not supersmart), and I found it out after less then 15 minutes of using the editor. You don't even have to save your missons, but you can. But when using the preview, you are already playing the mission you just created. Just try some scenario as I described in my first post. Two guys engaging you, in combat or stealth mode, and fire-at-will. Or create your own. It's really very easy. This simple scenario is mostly to make you get used to the basic aspects of the firefight. (you can also create more difficult scenarios, with other guys following certain waypoints to flank you, so you have to hurry a bit more to kill the first 2 guys) Just make sure your opponents are from the other side (bluefor/opfor), or they will not attack you ;) You can define the units, and config their behaviour. You can also setup the way they move (waypoints, just click the unit you want to move, select waypoints, doubleclick on the map, and define the config of the waypoint) Just give it a try, you will see how easy it it. I think that guy's like Frankie use this tool as well, because you can really setup everything you want, with people, building, vehicles, animal life, cinematic effects, etc etc.. @Sozinho True, but they will still surprise you, since most of the time they will spot you first. Especially in the woods. But , really the training is mostly needed to get used to the elements of the ffight (impressive sounds of the weapons, how to move, how to keep overview of the fight). And that is why you have to repeat this scenario, or more difficult scenarios now and then. Because it will really wear off if you haven't used it for a while and did not had really challenging action in DayZ. @Marcelllus_Walles Ive seen "the walking death"yesterday as well ;) shame we have to wait till februari for the next episode. -

Ok Cooking should at least take 10-15 mins, it should create more risk. Drinking water should have to be filtered from dams,lakes and pools. Thermal should depend on body heat, rain, night and day temperature, battery power, heat proof clothes. After swimming you should have to dry off quickly or get hyperthermia. ATV's should be bridge friendly. More in depth weather, snow, sleet, hail, wind. Camo netting for vehicles & tents Tents should not be able to be put in the middle of trees and stairs, plus no easy spotted tents from half a mile away, it's really annoying. -
OK, just got up and the last Washington DC node is now up, so all servers are online. Thank you very much for being so patient everyone. We're going to switch over to the 1.7.4.4 version soon because bliss dropped support for the dayzland.eu one - and I'm sure DayZCommander will soon as well. Still trying to figure out what the best way to do this is (they have different vehicles, so we will probably temporarily leave support up for dayzland.eu and request that everyone switch, it's going to be a logistical nightmare either way) It will only log movements after it has been selected (is green) - you've got to leave the map open, updates in the database are every few minutes so you probably won't see any movement for a little while.

No vehicles spawning on server

You don't find any vehicle on your server or they don't spawn at all ? When the first player comes on your server on start, look at your arma2oaserver.rpt file, and, above the "Hive: Starting" line you have to see each vehicle name. Like this : (...) 10:05:23 "HIVE: Starting" 10:05:26 "HIVE: Request sent" 10:05:26 "HIVE: Commence Object Streaming..." 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137265 - ATV_US_EP1" 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137266 - ATV_US_EP1" 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137267 - ATV_US_EP1" 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137268 - ATV_US_EP1" 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137269 - ATV_US_EP1" (...) You clearly see the vehicles spawning. If you don't see anything, look at your HiveExt.log, there is maybe errors. -
Started server with all vehicles at custom spawns and points

IP: 208.43.33.119:3323 It is liking playing Dayz for the first time again, kind of. BEST part is that all of the vehicles are at custom spots and spawn points, none of them are where the typical "spawn map" shows vehicles to be. I just hate how I can run from one spot to another in a server and know where all the vehicles spawn points are. After several hours of going through code and such vehicle limits WERE changed and there really is between more vehicles at all times. Also alot of vehicles you dont find on most dayz servers, we have. No tanks or planes, Rmod NOT required. Also changed chance of vehicles spawning. Server is meant for people who want to play DayZ the way it is meant to be played PvP wise. We are running several different programs to watch any type of hacking and we are active admins, so hacking will be caught immediately if it does happen. Ban list updated several times an hour. Also wondering what you guys think about the all custom spawn points and vehicle placement? Trying to improve playability!!!
