You pass out in vehicle, get blood hit, in case of piloting helicopter, be sure you are in stabilized position so you wont crash. Thanks! 1) You can add these variables to init.sqf of DayZ mission (to the current ones for configuring loot schema, bloodsuckers, evr) 2) pretty much 1) 3) the AII underground module itself should be initialized properly in DayZ mission, it just need those variables to be set for lights ON, its OFF on default Thanks! Yes, they seems to have problems sometimes (not everytime though). C130 crashsite model does not have paths for AI probably, since even infected cannot enter it. Yes, I am going to make them harder to kill. :P (moar info later in this post) As I responded ↑ + yes, protection device will work in vehicles. I want to avoid modifying DayZ mod itself, so no, anyway, I will try in the future to have better support (almost immediate) for newest DayZ mod versions (if there will be any more). Well lets wait on bliss update and we will see. Anyway some important info around DayZ Namalsk. DayZ Namalsk will get another update this week. It will be client update, which will address few things.. Spawn rate of bloodsuckers will be reduced Bloodsuckers will be more difficult to kill EVR will trigger, once started, combat mode EVR will be slightly noticeable around 4 minutes before its beginning Those are probably the most important changes, the rest will be available through the changelog.

I have a quick question. We are wanting to change the time zone on the server. I have everything set up to change but we are afraid that when we reload the map we will lose everything we have gathered so far. So my question is when you reload the map pack do you lose your tents, vehicles, etc? -

Hello all, Our server is based in Dallas. Currently running Cherno map with latest released version. We have active admins on server. Bandit and Hero play is welcomed. Some military based vehicles spawn with Satchel charges. 5-10 choppers on map, 150 vehicles spawned. Custom Buildings - NW air field is now chaotic and a challenge alone if you dont have a silenced weapon. Whitelisted during peak hours - Legit players get added through good behavior. Looking for a regular private hive

Hey there, I am admin of a private hive at 209.222.89.130:3802 (US 1367). If you're still looking, you are more than welcome to come join mine. While we do have care packages and wrecks, I find that they don't detract too much from the vanilla experience. We are also currently 24/7 daytime, but we normally discuss in-game on how we feel and can easily turn on night (really though, every night we take a vote :D) Other than that, we fit pretty well with your requirements - there are no applications, you can jump on whenever; there are a decent amount of vehicles, and the vast majority are fully repaired; we strive to be friendly to all players, and it's pretty rare for side chat to be empty/quiet; and the server is located in Philly, so you can be sure that you get good ping. Lastly, we may not be hitting 20 a night, but we do easily hit 10, with most of those being regulars. And I believe all the regulars are based out of the US, so we all play at same time. The number has been growing over the past couple of days, so the more, the merrier! Question regarding private hives, vehicles, and BE

You can't get players globally banned like that, that's just not how BattlEye works. I don't think you will be able to spawn some of those vehicles regardless but I could be wrong. I believe there are the standard vehicles, non-standard but spawnable vehicles and then banned vehicles. If you try and add a banned vehicle it will simply be replaced with something else or won't spawn at all. That's my understand anyway. There may or may not be some kind of local server kick or ban set-up for non standard spawnable vehicles (I'm not familiar with tools like dayz anti-hax, gotcha etc) but they could easily be unbanned or the restrictions removed if that happened so it's not really an issue. -
Question regarding private hives, vehicles, and BE

I hate it, but bumping... Can anyone give an answer? I know some people have custom vehicles on their servers, I just want to make sure nobody can get in trouble if I put custom vehicles in as well. -

I was playing on a server that had 800+ vehicles, and motorcycles at every spawn. The catch was that is was always night time, and it rained alot.

I wondered that too, since vehicles wont protect you from EVR... I decided I wont be flying helis for sure without warning devices :D (and will that device even work when player is in a vehicle?)

im also a fan of the wasteland mod. but i think the current system wont fit to dayz. or to be more precise the current buildings wont fit. most of the buildings consist of h-barriers and those are usually filled with a front loader not by hand. other than that i really like the easy to use way of placing structures and rearranging them. another cool feature is the ability to tow broken cars behind bigger/stronger cars. this could help dayz as well: for buildings a wall to keep undead out, or to secure your base. but there needs to be an item like a towing chain that allows you to tow one vehicle behind another one. chains with 5 and more vehicles like in wasteland are not ok. tl;dr structures like wasteland - no, placing system - yes towing vehicles with special items cool

Loving the new map :D general loot is plentifull and a shed load of vehicles are now spawned and decent vehicles at that. Loads of red golfs, Bi plane's n choppers. I've got me a military humvee :D The only problem is hiding the thing but theres plenty other vehicles anyway and being able to strip cars for parts makes it tha much easier to repair vehicles. -
cars should be extremely rare. i like where they are now. so, no to your suggestion. servers with a lot of vehicles are stupid.

DayZ Perk Trees for surviors, bandits, and heroes

Hello I enjoy playing DayZ a lot and thought it would be a good idea to add perks into the game. HOWEVER, once you die you lose all the perks so that would definitely force players to play smart. My suggestion is to add a perk tree that includes 3 tiers which are Bandit, Survivor, and Hero. The survivor skill tree would focus on basically surviving and the perks would help you survive in DayZ. The bandit skill tree would be only available to people who have obtained the bandit skin while the Hero skill tree would only be available to people who have unlocked the Hero skin. The survivor skill tree would be available to everyone. I think this will be a great addition to DayZ because it won’t be gamebreaking but it will add a little something to motivate players to stay alive and become immersed in gameplay. So in my free time I made a skill tree that kind of shows what I’m suggesting about. In this skill tree there would be three tiers that players can allocate to which is offense, defensive, and utility. Also in those three tiers that would be three sub tiers which players can focus on. (haven't finished all sub-tiers) However in order to keep in touch with realism, in order to unlock perks in the skill tree, you would need to do specific things like killing zombies, hunting animals, helping players, repairing vehicles, or killing other players. Your character would start off as a survivor knowing nothing but perks will be like knowledge he learns throughout the world of Dayz. After doing enough actions and accumulating enough experience, your character would start getting accustomed to life in the post-apocalyptic world and be able to learn the perks needed to help him survive. NOTE: this is only a basic skill tree that I’m trying to show to understand my suggestion for DayZ. Survivor Skill Tree Offensive First sub tier (deals with zombies) 1st perk – Deal 5% more damage to zombies 2nd perk - Deal 10% more damage to zombies 3rd perk - Deal 20% more damage to zombies and get bonus experience Defensive First sub tier (deals with zombies) 1st perk – Zombies do 5% less damage 2nd perk- Zombies do 10% less damage 3rd perk – Zombies do 15% less damage and can no longer break your legs Utility First sub tier (deals with hunger and thirst) 1st perk- You can survive longer without food 2nd perk- You can survive longer without drinks 3rd perk- Drinks give you 200 blood while canned food now give you 500 Second sub tier (deals with wildlife) 1st perk- Animals are easier to kill 2nd perk- You now can sense wildlife easier (think Far Cry 3 where you use the hunting syringe and can see animals through bushes) 3rd perk- Receive double the meat from animals Third sub tier (deals with vehicles) 1st perk- You now use less fuel while driving any vehicles 2nd perk- Your vehicle receives 10% less damage from small arms fire 3rd perk- Your vehicle has improved speed Bandit Skill Tree Offensive 1st perk- Guns do 5% more damage to vehicles 2nd perk- Guns do 10% more damage to vehicles 3rd perk- Guns do 5% more damage to survivors Defensive 1st perk- Receive 2% less damage from survivors 2nd perk- Receive 3% less damage from survivors 3rd perk- Receive 5% less damage from survivors/heroes Utility 1st perk- Run faster 2nd perk- Less likely to bleed from a zombie attack 3rd perk- Receive 500 extra blood when healed with blood bag Hero skill tree Offensive 1st perk- Deal 5% more damage to bandits 2nd perk- Deal 7% more damage to bandits 3rd perk- Deal 10% more damage to bandits Defensive 1st perk- Receive 2% less damage from bandits 2nd perk- Receive 5% less damage from bandits 3d perk- Receive 10% less damage from bandits/survivors Utility 1st perk- Run faster 2nd perk- Less likely to bleed from a zombie attack 3rd perk- Any survivor/hero you heal with bloodbag receives 800 extra blood The reason these bonuses are small is because I don’t want the realism to be destroyed by perks but these would be a nice addition. If these don’t make it on DayZ then maybe a perk tree would be a good idea for DayZ on consoles if it is ever ported due to the playstyle of most console gamers. Also, remember that once you die, you would lose all your perks that you learned and have to start over much like losing all your gear. -

Bump. Starting to get some regular players now and a few off the forums. There are a ton of vehicles still knocking around and a few people have started trying to fortify certain areas of the map. A few clans now playing and suspect it will all kick off soon! -
We found a whole cache of hacked in vehicles today just outside of elektro, including 4 helis, 3 of which aren't even dayz helis. We ran out of ammo before we could blow them all up. Barely made a dent in the helicopters. And I can't find anything in the logs about who hacked these in.....server restart doesn't do anything to them.....and we couldn't fix them up to move them outside the map without getting ourselves killed. What do you, as server admins, do when you find a vehicle you know is hacked in? And where do you find them in the logs?

So far we have acquired a few players who play on a regular basis and this is good especially since we are a very new Private Hive to the DayZ world. Additionally we are adding a Team Speak channel for the game, we truly want to empower the idea of player interaction and we also intend to encourage the PvP side of things as well. Changelist: The following are the changes in the 2.0 release of Taviana: All of the reported issues (that did not relate to the base Taviana map, which is out of our control) have been acted on. The Maule M7 (by Rocket, with improvements by Icebreakr) has been included and tweaked to work on recent versions of BattlEye and the Bliss BattEye filters. The V-22 Osprey has been enabled. The UAZ with the DSHKM machine gun has been enabled, along with a low magazine and very low magazine count version. The very low magazine count will be added as a rare spawn to the Bliss spawn table. Thanks to Graz on OpenDayz for inspiring us to add low magazine versions for game balance. The GAZ Vodnik and GAZ Vodnik MedEvac amphibious have been enabled, and low magazine and very low magazine versions of the GAZ Vodnik have been enabled. The C130J with radar will still be available for server administrators to add. Support for server administrators to modify or completely disable the dynamic weather system has been added. The area that is searched for trees has been increased to allow harvesting wood in sparse forest areas, such as those directly adjacent to the cities. Previously harvesting was possible in the larger forests only. The issue where players would be in the swimming position when spawning in is fixed. The default world position has been overridden and moved to land so that if DayZ fails to find a safe position players will not spawn in the water. A small number of the 68 custom building loot position tables have been tweaked, mainly to add upper floor loot positions. The Sabina Art Museum, Sabina Library, red hospitals, multi-story malls, and schools now have more loot. The loot probability in the custom Taviana diners and restaurants has been substantially increased. A specific main menu icon has been added. BattlEye script filters will be supplied to the Bliss team for addition to the update_filters.pl script, to avoid any script kicks.

Myself & friends got very irritated by the issues with public servers (downtime, vehicles de-spawning, random reverts, hackers abound, combat loggers, inventory wipes) Which is why we switched to private hives. But there lies a new problem, abusive admins. So we ended up making our own private hive. I'd definitely recommend finding a decent hive to get attached to as appose to public servers.
