As far as i understand you allow RMOD? /does it already come as a addon installed? cause im in need of a private hive host that has RMOD so i can get some of the awesome old AR2 CO vehicles back into DayZ i mean i find it a bit boring with only 11/12 different vehicles... ok ok 9 vehicles boats sux :3
  3. There is no way to get rid of them without some sort of debug script of some sort. The sucky part is even if you blow them up and restart, they return on the restart. Devs really need to do something about this as it is CRIPPLING to servers when a hacker spawns hundreds and hundreds of vehicles and buildings. If they spawn them all on top of each other, they all start taking damage off collision and then bogs down your server until it crashes entirely. At 1.4 millsion users, you have to quit copping out to alpha and recognize that this is a big problem for public servers who have little resources for fixing this issue, especially with the frequency that hackers do this crap.

    The Shack - a different kind of Taviana server.

    Quick update: This server is currently still running the taviana.com 1.7.4.4 map. We should see a move over to Tavi2.0 soon: Next week at the outside, next few days optimistically. The switch is dependant on Bliss incorporation of the map - we will be running the proper Bliss and not a branch development. We are so excited to see tavi2.0 coming out. The map is fully prepared for testing of new vehicles, and otherwise our admin workload has been pretty light the last few days.

All amazing admins. We are generous people and do not abuse our powers. We occasionally will give it guns and give out vehicles. Our aim for our server is to get really high pop and become in the top 10 servers most played. By doing this we give you things that have never yet been tested in DayZ so far. Daily Challenges such as: Find the ammo crates 1v1 Battles (hatchets. Winner gets good guns). Hunt the Admins. Attack the town. Defend the town. Find the sniper. And many more!! We are always open to suggestions, and will never ignore anyone. Our players are number one. IF your lucky, You may even find a HIND (Mi-17) With working canon. Rockets have been de-scripted. There are also a few military vehicles. You may also come across a few Admin camps set around the borders etc to keep watch on every single town/city on our servers preventing cheating/hackers. We also have daily teams who will check logs, Live maps. Hackers have no chance. So yeah guys, Come along to our new server. Only opened yesterday.     day z needs more vehicles!

    My problem with vehicles comes down to two words, "Cap" and "Clans". The vehicle cap on servers is too low, and the vehicles that are on the servers are usually sitting in a clan base somewhere along with many other vehicles. These clans collect and hog most of the vehicles that are available. You can't change how clans act, they should be able to collect vehicles and keep them for them selves, that only leaves one option: More vehicles. But i don't think vehicles should that common either, it sort of takes the fun out of it. I remember months back when i was playing with a group of friends, we had been playing almost non-stop for days. We had a pickup and 4 ATV's. When we went out of our base we took all the vehicles and drove in a convoy, the pick up infront and the ATV's following in line, our vehicles were stock full of weapons, and so were we. Just driving like that was amazingly fun, but i don't think it would've been that fun had we not have to work for it, this convoy was a medal of our hard work and i think that's what made it so special. Don't get me wrong though, i think finding vehicles is too hard, and even if you find one and it's damages, repairing it can take forever. But it can't be too easy either. There needs to be a middle ground. Our base with all our gear and vehicles was eventually attacked, we were there to defend it but after 1 and a half hour of fighting, we lost. It was night and i'm pretty sure they had the L85. We were 6 against 2 (i think), but we lost. After 3 of us had died, we decided to take the vehicles and as much gear as we could and bail. We managed to save 2 vehicles and some gear. Loosing that sucked, but that was part of the fun.

    VEHICLES

    I personally think fuel needs to be a rare commodity, have a limited amount that is refreshed each week and have more cars than there is fuel for all of them, imagine the amount of competition and fire fights this would create as people rushed to get there first, also, jerry cans need to spawn empty with a lower spawn rate to make them a more valuable, sought after item. This would go well with the idea to be able to siphon the gas tanks of usable vehicles, add another item like a hose and funnel that needs to be used in conjunction with a jerry can to achieve this. much like the same as needing matches and a hatchet to create a fire for cooking.

    DayZ in 1100 AD

    Answering some pm questions in general: Yep at this point it's more like a concept, although of course there's alot of work allready done (units, weapons, some buildings and misc objects that I allready have). Before a release I'd look into: - adding more weapons (saracen bow, new crossbow, more melee weapons) - new melee anims (holding / striking) - I'll have to look further into ofpanim for dynamic anims, allready created static anims with O2 - custom island (probably start out with a nature island, then some villages with the palisade / hut objects that I allready have and the castle ruins from ingame) No, the stuff you there has all been created by me using the ArmA1 Sample models as a basic layout. I first started creating the knight models in 2008 for ArmA1 and since then they've greatly evolved :) . Yep there's some challenges ahead, for player combat the scripted melee system by rydygier might also work better (he created a melee script to be used for my still wip non zombie medieval/roman age mod). I'll have to run some tests. No release yet, although you can take a look at some buildings, units and objects as posted here (its not game ready though, you need O2 Personal Edition and stuff) The post and units in there are also dated, I improved the units since then. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?113379-The-Orphaned-Projects-Thread&p=1867209&viewfull=1#post1867209 Thanks, yep I'm interested in how the standalone will improve the melee system, but afaik no mods will be allowed. I'll keep pushing though, Yeah horses are another difficulty but it's possible to implement them. Although they wouldn't move as elegant as skyrim horses. I allready had some ideas from another mate in the BIs forums for this and they had been brought into operation flashpoint allready. As for more vehicles I have created and rigged a battering ram allready and just for fun this could be the first vehicle to be included lol. That I'd also like, it should be possible to include this when units/zombies die and have like the head or arm fall of. But scripting a more advanced solution is out of my reach. btw: is this forum slow for everyone or just me? it makes no real fun if you have to wait 15s for a quote to appear in the editor. I also have to work on some other stuff so no worries if I don't get back as fast ;) .

  11. Since 1.7.4.4 i keep getting this kick on my server. It mostly happens when vehicles explode/crash. i already tried this link, but didnt work for me. got this from the remoteexec.log: - #0 "[this] spawn BIS_Effects_AirDestruction - #36 "[this] spawn BIS_Effects_AirDestruction Does anyone know a workaround for this kick?

    Awesome ideas. But most of us have been spoiled by the private hives with their enticing offers of vehicles that don't need repairing. I can't imagine how awful it would be to have to go back to collecting engine parts, fuel tank, windscreen, scrap metal, spare tyres and jerry cans - when I can just jump in a vehicle and drive away.

    I wonder if anyone else, like me, usually leaves the vehicles they come across in favour of travelling on foot? I prefer hiking, it draws less attention and you don't miss anything on the way so if I find a vehicle I usually check it out but leave it anyway. Maybe to shorten travel time to the next ville I'll borrow it but for me more vehicles on a map probably wouldn't make a lot of difference.... more bikes, however, then we'd be talking!

  18. Ive been playing dayz for a while and ive noticed in some servers that the G36c and its vairents spawn in military places along with new vehicles im just wondering if rocket added it in or is it a custom server spawn

My clan, my lovely character of 23 days, and I went server searching (due to our main being shut down due to hackers) at about 7:15 eastern when we happened upon an obviously hacked zone. the northeastern airfield was filled with about 50 high value barracks. Content with our already amazing gear, we hunkered down and entertained ourselves by capping greedy survivors looting the barracks with our 2 AS50s. Suddenly, we were all teleported to an unknown zone with several helicopters laying about along with the other 30+ people on the server, while a child on a mic flew around screaming "don't quit!" "fight to the death!" So my clan and I then proceeded to do what any normal survivor would do; promptly alt F4. upon re logging onto a different server we were all prompted to select our gender, obviously a heartbreaking and unnecessary confrontal. I myself don't know much about scripts and can't say whether it was admin abuse or just some kid hacking, but i do know that they were spawning buildings with active loot piles, un-registered vehicles, and general items aswell as life hacks and flight. my freinds and I lost many hours of work on that server and hope that justice will be served I do not, unfortunately have pictures or video of this incident as I was not expecting to have to report anything, but there were over 30 witnesses that experienced a similar event that may have better proof, and I hope that they come forth

One thing that I dislike about DayZ is how when you kill someone in a vehicle their corpses fall through a solid object (namely the floor of whatever vehicle they were in) and stay on the ground. The case where this is very annoying is (as I saw in a JackFrags video on YouTube) is when you snipe someone piloting of a heli, and their body drops like a rock, in some cases a kilometre away from where the helicopter ends up crashing. My suggestion is that corpses stay in vehicles when a player is killed, and essentially take up that spot like a regular player would. You'd have an option when you scroll down the mouse wheel to 'Remove Corpse' which would either dump the body onto the ground, or into the players hands as if they were dragging an unconscious player. In the event that a vehicle explodes with a corpse in it, the corpes (and players that died in the explosion, or who were just in the vehicle at the time) would be flung out of the vehicle to land a few metres away, creating a very epic (and realistic) crash. Secondly, when a player is killed (in any way) their body shouldn't be lying in the same position every time (flat, face down on the ground) they should be in a position that would be determined by what they were killed with, and where they were shot, blown up, etc, from. So, if you were shot in the chest you might be on your back with your arms and legs in ragdoll positions, or if you were blown up you'd end up flying in the direction the explosion came from, ending up landing in the way you would in the real event. This would look particularly awesome if someone was thrown against the wall of a building, and was slumped against it. Lastly, corpses giving a hint of what killed them would be nice. Anyway, that was my suggestion, feel free to give constructive feedback (Sorry if there were any topics on the same subject, I couldn't find any) I've got a couple other possible map suggestions (if they decide to make any more) for standalone, so you might see another thread if I can be bothered making one.     Actually they rule. Seriously, who wants to spend hours running from Kamenka to...anywhere else? The maps are so big your chances of encountering someone away from the coast or the NWAF are pretty small. And why make vehicles so rare that anyone who actually puts one together then hides it forever off the edge of the map?
  22. Hey before i start, this is the 3rd time i have been banned from servers. I have not hacked or spawned anything into the game, simply killed someone in fair play and taken their loot as reward. None if the items have been things that are not in Day Z. The most recent time was last night. I was playing on " US 4265 - Hosted by HellBoundSoldiers " and got this message when i went to log into the server after playing on it for sometime and having to logg off because it restarted - "You were kicked off the game. (BattlEye: Admin Ban (DayZ Anti-Hax 17.12.2012 09:07 (Remote Code Execution))). I have had the same message appear on 2 other servers (cant remember their names though). Can someone please tell me what that means and can i please be allowed access to the server again, just spent over 3 days on it working with a friend to get some decent weapons, tools and vehicles. Thank you :) PS - I have also just found another screen shot of the last time i got banned, the message is also attached

  24. The community that I've recently had the pleasure of joining has their own DayZ server which was put up recently, so the opportunity to grab vehicles is pretty high. The admins are very active, easily accesible, and mature (which is a rare thing in today's servers and even communities). I've been enjoying playing on this server and have had a lot of enjoyable experiences, given the short time I've been playing on their DayZ server. As of now, it is public hive, but we are planning on moving it over to a private hive and possibly a different map. If you ever want to come play, just filter "Lethal Resolution Gaming" or "US #500". The TeamSpeak 3 IP is "69.65.49.248:10347". Everyone's welcome to come play! Sorry for not having a flashy and pretty thread, but this is really just a casual invite to come play on a pretty nice server or just join our TS3 server to find people to play with.
