And if you've played on 023 namalsk hosted by daimyo, which is also a great server, we are getting the basebuilding and thinking of adding the amount of vehicles on it too! But, the great thing for us Americans it's hosted here so ping will be low and the players are very nice...most of the time. But on to more important things the server has a custom load out which may or may not be changed, for me the load out is over powered but, its his server. New cities are being added! SE of the dam there is a great place for new starters that is highly populated so dont go in guns blazing ;) Thanks for reading enjoy i hope you stick around until we get the plugins ready to go!   2. Hello there As to avatar appearance, i'd like to see as many options as possible. I'm a skinny pale biker/goth/punk type in real life, so I'd like my avatar to reflect that. I dont see why a zombie apocalypse is going to alter my dress sense of the last 30 odd yeas. Admittedly most of it is army surplus. What worries me is the customisation of vehicles. Although "mad max" esque vehicles do look groovy, they'd be out of reach of most folk. The closest I get to metal work is opening a can of soup. Plus metal plates are very heavy indeed and covering a vehicle with em isn't going to help performance and most important fuel consumption. The best compromise is to look at police vans which have simple mesh screens to cover glass/radiator wheel arches etc. Esentially all the "soft parts". Look at "Techincals" used by poorer militias/countries, They're just 4x4's with a big ole HMG/AA unit in the back, not many are "max"ed up. There's a reason for that. TL;DR Mad max vehicles look cool, but on the whole are not practical. All this is IMHO. Rgds LoK

    Kill: -Bandits, unless they are superior in something, in which case i leave them alone. -Panicked Bambis that fire upon me. -Anyone in cases of emergency (=Northern areas). Leave alone/help: -Unarmed players. -Anyone in need, unless he's a bandit. Rob: -Those with vehicles, if they've parked them somewhere I'll take them.If I see someone driving, I'll do my best to stop him without firing.If I succeed, I'll ask for a ride.

Hello people, My suggestions today for the mod/the game are: 1.Random Textured realistic full clothes set up on fresh spawns. 2.Possibility of finding clothes in houses and military bases as actual objects(Which could be not easy to find in the actual base like maby hidden inside a closet down a dirty basemant) which includes Army boots, Hats, glasses, T shirts and suits, could also have vests a bullet proof vests and more kind of clothing like body armours and also i would love for it to be alfits like ghillies and pilot alfits, mountain climbing alfits and more.. 3.Tempratures that would change connected with real life weather(Could be random but realistic) That the clothes that you could find could effect you (Like in namalsk but i mean every single object can help a curtain part of the body, and boots could be used for easy walking and shoes could also get worn and become less usefull, i know it sounds to some people abit too tuff but it adds ALOT to the survival as dean hall said You VS the wild. 4.Vehicles!, ok so that part is going to be alot of fun for the players and for the developers, i hope a good idea too so i've been comming up with the idea of: in Arma 2 you could place a windshield to a vehicle i've been thinking of adding stuff like that in Metal to make a vehicle armored and really fully ''battling your car''or''armouring your car'' However you would like to call it Talking about armouring you could maby find not only defense parts to your vehicle but also attacking parts like bumpers with metal pieces standing forwards, a machinegun whole through the roof basically making a well armed apocalyptic vehicle out of a almost dead vehicle, would be officially the coolest game ever. I was playing on a private hive server with custom vehicles and guns, i was fully geared and was going to loot some military barracs when I noticed a parked chopper that had 2 rotors and alot of different gun positions on it, I camped out the place for about 45 minutes and then I see a whole squad of bandits run for the chopper, I killed 2 of them with my DMR but I ran out of bullets and by then I was geting shot and I was now at 6000 blood, I took cover behind a stack of bricks wich was directly across from the enemy an the chopper so I couldnt see the rest of the bandits, I had no other choice but to run for the chopper and get into one of the front gunner seats and shoot them, I ran for the chopper I got shot with a low damage weapon and started bleeding but I ran for the gunner seat and killed the rest of them I had no bandages left and tried to go loot one of their bodies to find a bandage but I passed out and thanks to all that shooting we had caught the attention of the zeds and one of them killed me
  8. I have a problem that happens maybe once a month, starting a few months ago. It always happens when I'm in a vehicle, and mostly in flying vehicles. Basically what happens is I'm forced to my desktop, but the client is still running and I can hear sounds still. When I try to alt-tab it gives me a black screen for a second then goes back to the desktop. The first time it happened I was being stalked by 2 hackers who were just teleporting in front of my motorcycle but not shooting at me. I assumed it was something done by hackers, but this most recent time I was the only player online at the time so that can't be it. It has caused me a death and a crashed plane and chopper, I really need to fix this issue. I have tried searching for answers but didn't find any threads about this particular issue. If anyone has had the same problem or if a thread already exists, please point me in the right direction. I am my group's designated pilot so I really need to get this under control. I run the game through the arma 2 OA beta patch, occasionally through Dayz Commander (this most recent time I launched from the beta patch). I purchased the game retail from amazon. I run patch version 1.62.99806 at the moment. some system info: Operating System: windows 7 professional 64-bit CPU: Intel core i5 M 520 @ 2.40 GHz Memory: 4096 MB Graphics: NVidia Quadro FX 2800m, 2730 MB

As a result, I have made a sister server called "The Mortifier:Reloaded" http://www.facebook.com/TheMortifierCommunity The Mortifier 75.126.39.68:3119 The Mortifier: Reloaded 198.105.220.164 :3068 Currently "TM" is on Namalsk, and "TMR" is Cherno. There are 250 vehicles, 24/hr daytime, wrecks and care packages. There is a facebook community page that was created this evening, and a website up in the next week or two. We're very excited for the start of this new community, and would love to see it grow. We have a survival pack avaliable for purchase for $5/month aswell. Feel free to check us out!     WOAH CLICK THIS!

    If you get fed up of being hacked and spawn-killed on the public servers, you and anyone else you're playing with would be welcome on the Wireworld EU private, whitelisted server. It's running the very latest community-driven v175 patches. Usually it has between 5-25 players, which means you get a good balance between scavenging, survival, building bases and repairing vehicles when it's not so busy, and then some nice PvP action when it has more players. There is a good mix of new players and experts, and an age range from early twenties upwards (there are a couple of regular teens, but they behave very well). Teamspeak is provided and, unlike most servers, the majority of players are on TS - that's where the community is. You can usually join any channel and team up with them for the night without having to create a formal group or clan. Although of course you'll probably have to earn some trust first, by being on the TS a few times and getting to know people. The admin, Mac, is active and helpful. I can't believe I wasted so many weeks on public servers, simply accepting the shooting-on-sight and hacking - it doesn't need to be like that. Even if Wireworld doesn't appeal to you, my advice for new players is to skip the public hive, try three private servers you like the sound of, and eventually choose the one that suits you the best. Wireworld runs the very latest community beta patch. Follow the instructions in the above link - basically join the lobby and get kicked (this is so your player name and id is logged in the database), then email the address in the 'kick message' with your GUID, and finally download the latest beta (3 PBO files) from the link you're given. The details of the TS server are in the lobby message if you get stuck.

My host sorts out the server files for me and probably won't change any of our bliss .sql files since we customise them sometimes but i have managed to read the .sql files to get the class id for the new vehicles now so thanks for pointing me in the right direction :) If anyone else needs to add them with custom spawn points these are the class ID's for the new vehicles Roket_Maule_M7_STD SUV_Blue SUV_Green SUV_Yellow SUV_Red SUV_White SUV_Pink SUV_Charcoal SUV_Orange SUV_Silver SUV_Secial Zodiac_DZ Pickup_PK_DZ UAZ_MG_DZ Thanks for the latest update (1.5),not sure how long it will be before our host can implement it to all our servers but good work nevertheless and Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all at dayzland.eu :D

    Stupidest people you have encountered in DayZ

    ^^ Vehicles... nothing but trouble. I haven't met many incredibly stupid people, but I've made plenty of stupid mistakes myself. Last week I died like 4 times in quick succession in one night (when I normally last days on one life). Started off with me checking out Stary (alone), seeing there weren't many people on the server, and then going "I'm sure I'm alone". Started looting, and second tent in I got shot in the back. From there I got killed twice by "friendly" survivors who claimed they hailed me but I didn't stop... one of them was a guy in a church, but as it was getting dark I mistook him for a strangely spawned zombie and ran in with my hatchet and a few other zombies in tow just to get put down by an AK. Fun side note: later I heard people in side chat talking about how all voice chat was disabled on that server. Not sure if you can actually do that, but if so it adds hilarity to the situation of people who thought I was intentionally ignoring their warnings.
  15. Great server so far, lots of vehicles on the coast to get you started. The only thing I disagree with is spawning with an Alice Pack, thats the 2nd largest pack in the game....I would stick to the patrol pack but its not up to me.

  17. I understand this is a Private Hive, but they are constantly abusing their abilities. They have their anti-hacker things and ban anyone else who uses hacks. But they use hacks themselves! They use the admin maps to find players and spot players to let people know where they are and who they are to kill them. I have many many players to back me up on this and they don't care if you donate or not. This constant abuse of admin abilities between using hacks, admin maps to find players and kill them, un-banning team mates who hack and cheat which battle eye bans them for, and killing those who donate to them. People and players such as this ruin the fun of others constantly day to day on ALL servers. Too bad Stand-Alone isn't out yet. This issue would have been dealt with already. SEAL Team 1 The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday SEAL Team 1 is a new group I've wanted to start for awhile, looking to expand into a team that can act and function as a real SEAL Team, recruiting experienced and non-experienced players. All applications will be reviewed. This clan thrives on surviving and keeping the community safe from bandit clans and gangs. Still looking for an effective way to communicate, but will be discussed among the team. SEAL Team 1 is not a bandit clan in any way or promoted to that direction. Our mission statement is to keep the survivors of Chernarus safe from harm. There are rules that must be followed at all times, these rules are military based (IE.) The SOP/ROE. This team will function as tactically as possible. "Duties include, but are not limited to, fighting against crimes that endanger the peace and security of mankind, terrorism, corruption, and organized criminal activities in the sphere of management and economy, as well as other unlawful acts that threaten the safety and interests of SEAL Team 1 and Chernarus. Primary Objectives 1.) Aide and support and survivors in Chernarus 2.) Eliminate all threats of gangs and bandit clans 3.) Provide security, protection, and supplies to survivors if needed SEAL Team 1 ROE Handbook ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one. 2. Decide to be aggressive enough, quickly enough. 3. Have a plan. 4. Have a back-up plan, because the first one probably won’t work. 5. Be polite.     Squads and Armoured Vehicles

    I became interested in technicals lately and I think it would be a cool idea to add them in, seeing as they are in pretty much every lawless country where people have access to military equipment and vehicles. In real life there don't seem to be many improvised armoured vehicles like in 2017 though, since I guess visibility and maneuverability are considered more important and improvised armour would be either ineffective or too heavy. I'd love to see a Land Cruiser 70 with a DShK. B)

    DayZ without Zombies

    [WARNING: Very long post ahead.] Wow, OP has gotten a lot of undeserved hate for his comments. The people saying, "It has to have zombies because of the Z in DayZ!" are completely missing the point OP was trying to make. He's not saying we should add new enemies/creatures to DayZ, or even remove the zombies and put in new enemies and cal it DayZ. He's talking about taking the gameplay systems that make up DayZ and adding different scenarios, different PvE enemies or threats to create new games in the Massive Survival Sandbox style that DayZ has created. What makes DayZ the experience that it is? Is it Zombies? Certainly not. Does DayZ require zombies for its systems to be fun? Not at all. Could its systems hop genres successfully? Well, why not? Let's break down what makes DayZ special. 1. Realistic survival systems: Food and water are required, warmth is required, shelter is required to an extent, medical supplies are required to treat infection, wounds, etc. It’s about creating a realistic environment (a normal day/night cycle, varied geographical locations, etc) with realistic consequences to create a game world that feels like it could be a real world with minimal suspension of disbelief. As Rocket has said in the past, the real enemy in DayZ is the player's own body. Zombies and player threats are just a bonus. 2. Massive maps for 50+ players: Create tons of locations of a huge variety within this massive map so players have a huge world to populate, explore, and play in together. 3. Open Sandbox world: The game provides a scenario (zombie apocalypse in this case, but could easily be changed to something else with a bit of creativity), a basic framework (death conditions, basic PvE enemies that are more predictable, like a force of nature, as opposed to a malicious force like players) and the tools to interact with the world (food, water, gear, weapons, ammo, tools). The game then offers minimal direction for player actions. Players are free to decide how they use the tools they are given to interact with the world that has been presented to them. Players create their own narratives, their own objectives, and are not given “quests” by the game. 4. Player-dictated interactions: When meeting another player, you can talk to them as you would talk to another human being. No menus, no flagging yourself as a private player or chat invitiations on the server, just talking. Or shooting. Or teaming-up. Or robbing. Or trading. Or sneaking past and stealing. The game provides Lots of nuanced options for players that are only limited by the player's imagination. It's the player's choice on how they interact with players, not the game's. 5. Mixed PvE and PvP: All combat actions, and all actions in general, are performed in real-time with no restrictions (For example, there are no PvP-only servers, it’s all just thrown in together). Real-time PvP and PvE threats coexist and can take place at any time simultaneously. 6. Permadeath: You don’t earn experience that carries over to your next life. You can’t keep weapons or equipment for your next incarnation (except for tents and finding/looting your dead body, but it’s not automatic and there are risks with each of those options). Everyone starts the same regardless of previous playthroughs, and it doesn’t matter how many zombies you grind (that’s a weird mental image), it won’t help you in your next life if you die in this one. Survival becomes incredibly important because death is final. The only thing that carries over into your next character is anything you, the player, actually learned. This is what I consider the core of the DayZ experience. None of these things require a zombie or "infected" threat. So why not take all the fantastic ideas behind DayZ's survival sandbox world and create new games out of them with different threats and themes? People in this thread have already mentioned how interesting it would be to fight/run from dinosaurs, intelligent robots, aliens, etc. Think about taking the DayZ experience into space, where you need to think about the added threat of depleting oxygen levels. Cool, right? Basically, create an intense player-driven open world survival sandbox mmo with real-time skill-based combat and harsh survival conditions. Then simply switch out the PvE elements/enemies to fit the new scenario. This works with zombie apocalypses, WHY NOT try it out with werewolves? Here’s an idea: You have all day to loot, kill players for their beans, find food, build shelter, fix vehicles, etc., and at night you have extremely powerful enemies tracking you, hunting you, trying to kill you. Suddenly you have to consider how and when you travel to new locations (can I make it there on foot before the sun goes down?), and getting lost on the way to your destination eats up precious daylight. The sun is going down, do you have enough bullets to ward off any predators? Has someone started living in your usual hiding place? There’s an unsuspecting player, is it worth the risk to kill him and take his bullets/food/vehicle to outrun the wolves? Does he even have the right gear? Would his death just be a waste of bullets without a big enough payoff? Would he be willing to team up and defend a position in town with you? Would he just betray you after the night assault is over? How many nights can you survive in this harsh world without succumbing to other players, hunger, thirst, illness, the wolves, etc? Perhaps the werewolves live in settlements to protect themselves during the day when they’re human, and players could try hunting them down during daylight hours to make the night assault less difficult. But is it worth it to waste time and resources killing them instead of looking for more food/water/ammo/etc to survive the night? I’d play that game. Another example: Players are humans with mechs that can transform from backpacks to full-sized giant robots. You’re on a giant Halo-sized space station that was overrun by AI combat drones. Your mech form can help you combat the drones and is a built-in weapon and vehicle, but you need to find the right parts to fix it up. And you need food, water, warmth, and oxygen on top of all that. And the PvE combat drones can shoot you from a distance, so they’re much deadlier and much less mindless than DayZ zombies. You switch between your mech and human forms for combat and stealth, respectively. And staying in your mech too long makes it succumb to the same virus or AI that turned the original robotic drones against their masters in the first place, so you have to spend time in your human form and look for mech components that can wipe the mech’s memory and reset the clock on it turning against you. Throw in other players looking for the same resources (food water, ammo, parts to augment your mech, ) and trying to avoid the same combat drones, and you have a DayZ style sandbox survival game with SciFi elements and mechs. MECHS. I’d play that game, too. Obviously, those are just rough ideas of how to apply the DayZ formula to other scenarios and genres. And they most definitely couldn’t be made in Arma II (someone please prove me wrong and make them). But they’re proof that we could at least TRY to use something other than the generic zombie apocalypse scenario! And that’s all OP was really trying to say. I love DayZ as much as all of you. I think it has started something special. I want to see that special something applied in new and interesting ways. The zombie apocalypse was fantastic for showing how this style of game could work. Now we just have to let other developers take these design elements and apply them to some scenario other than zombies. Wouldn’t that be awesome? It sounds fantastic to me. Thanks for reading. SIDE NOTE: For those of you using “realism” as a defense for why the systems of DayZ would only work with zombies, you’re really missing the point. Just remember that 1) the realism in DayZ comes from the real-time combat, the necessity for food, water, and warmth, the ease of death from one or two bullets/bleeding out, the ease of simply talking out loud to other players, the freedom for players to create their own objectives instead of being confined to quests created by the game, etc. The realism DOES NOT come from the zombie threat. And 2) flesh-eating infection zombies are about as realistic as unicorns. They both exist in the realms of fiction. There is no virus that could ever turn a human being into a flesh eating zombie and there never will be, no matter how much we want it to. Zombies are the same amount of ridiculous and improbable as unicorns and werewolves and vampires. I mean, they’re not even the most realistic fictional threat. Robots and AIs that turn against us are more plausible. Aliens from outer-space are more likely. Zombies are just an implausible impossible fiction. I know, man. I want them to be real too. But they’re fiction, and all the zombie apocalypse preparations and wishful thinking won’t make them real, or even realistic. They’re perfect for videogames, though. Cheers.
