If you're in Europe, the Wireworld EU server I play on is great for lone players who want to informally team-up with other players. We usually have between 5-25 players online, so you have enough space and time to scavenge, gear-up, repair vehicles, pitch tents and steal stuff from other people during the quieter times (although you still need to be on your guard), but you can easily find some PvP action during the busier times. It's a good balance between survival and PvP. Nearly everyone uses the server's teamspeak, so you can jump into a channel and join up with some players for the evening informally without having to join a clan, and still play alone whenever you want too. The rule is: don't shoot people in your TS channel, but everyone else (except new spawns) is a legitimate target. The players all get to know each other quite well, and it's a nice little community. Wireworld runs the very latest community beta patch. Follow the instructions in the above link - basically join the lobby and get kicked (this is so your player name and id is logged in the database), then email the address in the 'kick message' with your GUID, and finally download the latest beta (3 PBO files) from the link you're given. The details of the TS server are in the lobby message if you get stuck.

What does 'plenty' mean? Wireworld UK has between 5-25 players, which means you've got some quiet times to gear-up, repair vehicles, and raid camps without too much threat (you still have to keep your guard up though), and some nice banditry and PvP when it's busier. Personally I think 30+ players on Chenerus just turns into a deathmatching cycle; I certainly prefer when player-encounters happen more unexpectedly and you have a chance to keep your camps and vehicles for a while. Maybe you're just looking for a quick-fire bloodfest though? Personally I wouldn't even bother with the public hive. The game is so much better when you don't have to worry about hackers. Wireworld has been hacker free (we think) for many months. The only things you want to be assured about with a private hive is that the admin isn't abusive and that the server is not going to shut down any time soon. Well, Wireworld only has one Admin who is mature in age and behaviour, owns a gaming centre, and is friendly and active. The server was also pre-paid for a year and has at least six months to go. The other benefit of Wireworld is that there isn't the shoot-on-sight mentality that you get on the public hive. Most players are in the TeamSpeak provided, and there is lots of informal teaming-up and co-operation every night. The players all get to know each other, and being part of a small community really adds an extra dimension to the game. Of course, you can play as a lonewolf too, whenever you wish. FadeToBlack Gaming - Custom Towns/Bases, Fortified Castles, 250+ Vehicles
vendastelca replied to msconfig's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
As leader of GHOST, I have to speak for us all when I say this is the best server we've ever played on. The action is intense, the vehicles are plenty and the events are amazingly fun. The community is really great too. The admins are always on the ball to keep hackers off the server and make sure all the players are happy. -
Armoured vehicles sounds awsome! But the suggestion with the squads..yeah...no...idk...it feels to me that it should stay like this, cuz it's perfectly fits with this game :D .I think more people just forget that this is a zombie survival game xD

root replied to AIRCAV's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Not yet, in upcoming patch: * [REMOVED] - Banned m136 as it never really worked and served no real purpose. http://dayzmod.com/f...mmunity-builds/ Edit: From dev page: https://github.com/R...on/Changelog.md Can't wait for 1.7.5 ... a lots of new changes I like. Some of them you can already try in latest Taviana patch like: * [NEW] - Zeds spawn while in vehicles. * [NEW] - Zeds mow have the ability to damage vehicles. This is limited to glass only once glass is destoryed players within will be damage. * [NEW] - Zeds now have the ability to pull you from open vehicles. * [NEW] - New Load screens added. * [NEW] - Revamped GUI icons to now empty as you loose the relevent item (blood, food, water) Thanks Des -
UK Yorkshire Zombies [Veteran][GMT-9] - Vanilla style
FlangeHamm3r replied to wordy007's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I was playing on a server that died recently and on the very first public server I went on after that I played for an hour and then everyone got teleported into the sea. Brilliant. So I'm looking for somewhere else to play and, as I live in Yorkshire, this looks promising. I prefer vanilla DayZ without extra loot or vehicles or (in one case on a private hive I was playing on) a secret base full of helicopters and loot that the admins have hidden just outside the map. Questions: Is this server anti-hack protected or at least adminned a lot? Is the server whitelisted or can anyone just join? -
If they were to implement armored vehicles i would love to see more IED type explosives, traps etc. Yes armour on the vehicle is one things but then the IED is the perfect counter.

Recruitment status: Open Recruitment is now at Wave 4! Recruitment opened at 9pm AEST on the 28/12/12, please fill out a prelim application, even if you have already done so in a previous wave. Please download the OFFICIAL 97ADU Member's Handbook for highly detailed information: http://www.fileden.c...andbook 1.5.doc The 97th ANZAC Dental Unit is now recruiting! We are a group of like-minded players who believe in playing DayZ like it was meant to be played, for fun. Not just going around blasting fresh spawns in Cherno for their chemlights. We have both our own DayZ server and Teamspeak server, as well as approximately 32 of the best players down under, across the Tasman, and around the world. Our members are Primarily Australians and New Zealanders, but we take in members from all different countries. Still interested? Please continue reading as I describe in more depth the recruitment process and whether or not our organisation is for you. The recruitment process After filling out a preliminary recruitment application (detailed below), candidates that are viable for recruitment will be contacted via PM and a voice interview will be arranged. We will then ask you a series of questions that will be used to determine if you are a suitable fit into the ADU's ranks. We usually take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to reach a decision after the interview, and you will be the first to be notified if your application has been accepted or declined over a communication network of choice (Our Teamspeak server, forum PM, email, smoke signals etc.). If you make it this far, you will be fixed with the 'recruit' rank on our Teamspeak, which is basically a probationary phase, of which it is possible to fail. It lasts from anywhere between 1 - 3 weeks, depending on your performance and how trustworthy you prove. From here, recruits are then promoted to full members of the 97ADU. Requirements High maturity levels. (Having a joke is fine, but you need to know when to stop) A working microphone. Teamspeak 3 Being a reasonable person. If somone asks you to come pick them up in a car you're driving, dont just say no and drive off. Sense of humor. About us Allow me to get one thing clear. We are not a bandit organisation, quite the opposite. So if you enjoy activities such as sniping fresh spawns in Elektro, then this clan isn't for you. We are out to have fun and to lend a hand, however if we come under fire, then we have no qualms about shooting to kill. We all have a serious side, but when it comes down to it, we are all out to have fun, so remember that. Rules and Consequences We do NOT tolerate: The deliberate shooting of unarmed survivors. Stealing or deliberate dispossession of ADU equipment and/or vehicles (we share equipment, so if you need weapons/ammo, just ask!) Associating with a known bandit organisation. Disrespect against fellow ADU members regardless of their rank or organisation, this includes racist/sexist remarks etc. Hacking in any way, shape or form. Consequences Breaking any rules listed above will compromise your position within the 97ADU. The repercussions depend upon the severity of the infringement. Offenses such as hacking result in immediate expulsion, whilst others may result in a warning and/or being placed on probation. Again, If you are interested or have any questions at all, feel free to send me a PM or post here and I will get back to you ASAP. What to put in your post/PM: (Preliminary Recruit Application) - What name you go by in game? - Do you have a working mic? - How did you hear about us? -What is your age (note: we do not have an age restriction, only a maturity restriction, so be truthful please) - Do you have Teamspeak? - What are your best qualities that you think would benefit the 97ADU? - How long have you been playing DayZ? - Are you associated with any other clans? Thank you for your interest. -Doug 97ADU officer of external affairs & Recruitment

Protips: Always Carry these Items in your main inventory: Morphine, Smoke Grenade, Food, Water. Smoke grenades make zombies go very far and very fast. Commit to your aim Check a town out with binocs first, if your over 300m away and theres already zombies, theres already people. Using low-population servers to get better loot isnt frowned upon. Server hopping is. If your within 50m of a zombie, you should be prone. Unless its night, then you should just be shift-walking Just because a gun is rare does not make it better. The second that fancy camo SVD runs dry in a firefight, a CZ 550 could have 5 clips in tow. [For tents/vehicles] Make your loadouts useful. Dont take that extra backpack weapon if your going on a supply run. The more food/water/ammo you can get, the better. In contrast, if your expecting a fight at various ranges, sometimes its safer to take an extra sniper or rifle. Just because its the middle of the map does NOT mean that its a bad place for a tent. Ive had tents in the middle of forests go undetected for months, but tents at the very north of the map get ransacked in a day. Ghillie suits look like bushes for a reason. It would probably be better to wear civvie clothing in urban areas, the plain, blocky colors morph into the walls If its a clan private server, and your not in a group, consider yourself the hunted. They'll be looking for you. If you hear a shot, your first instinct should be to ask "Why am I here?". If the answer is anything but "To kill people", then its not a bad decision to lay low. That shot could be a lure for other snipers, who could find you just as easily as the one who shot. If you shoot an enfield in any city, your gonna have a bad time 3 places that are overlooked but VERY useful. Zelenogorsk ( 3 barns, gas station, superstore) North East Air Field (Heli spawns, military loot), and Vybor ( Mini-Cherno) Unless your bleeding, with red blood indicator, while flashing food and water, dont EVER go to Stary Sobor. Your gonna make a sniper very happy. Just because they dont have a gun in their hand doesnt mean they arent armed. If they have a backpack bigger than the patrol pack, they probably have a gun in there. If your being shot at by a sniper, take cover. Next check your surroundings, if you have cover that is out of his line of sight, sprint to it. Snipers generally arent good enough to hit a moving target that is switching cover, and cant adjust quickly enough to hit a target moving less than 10m. If you throw a flare, your making a commitment to letting anyone in a 500-1000 (depending on weather) distance know where you are. Know your enemy. Even if your decked out in NVG's, a fresh spawn could easily throw a flare and mess up your day. It takes long enough for your avatar to adjust his eyes to the light difference that a man with a makarov could kill you, loot your stuff, bury you, and dance on your grave. Watch the map. If you see a marker saying "Camp here", its probably a trap. For the more audacious, it would mean setting up an ambush yourself. A sniper is only going to be sitting there so long. If you hear a helo, its a 1/3 chance that it cant flip your pancakes. The MI-17 and UH1Y both have guns. The little bird does not. Unless your an amazing shot, its better to take cover and let them pass Just because theres a tent with only an enfield and a can of beans in it doesnt mean you should destroy it. If your well off, just let it be. Take care.

Well like I stated, it was either gotcha or BE and we simply followed suit- saying you can get into other servers means nothing to me as someone can simply turn something on and off and decide when to use something or not. The simple fact is, we do not just ban people without a reason. We have a high populated server every single day and almost every single day we get some script kid on there causing issues. So any server owner can understand that we would rather not take a chance by letting people on who have been flagged by an anti-cheat utility. We own the server and do not want hackers messing everything up every single day when people on our server spend countless hours acquiring things only to be teleported, auto-aim killed, vehicles teleported and wrecked, buildings destroyed, or one of the other stupid issues. We own the server and have the RIGHT to ban people we suspect. We have the right to defend our server. Your ban will not be lifted nor any of the other suspicious people. You can try to flame us all you want, but people will still come to our server regardless of what you or anyone else says. Get over it.

You have a pretty ambivalent way of destiction between kindness you do and done to you. So when you said you took shots at me some days ago when I was flying away in my birdie, me being a non hostile player for you since you didnt even know whos sitting in there, thats ok for you, but on the opposite, me shooting at a single tire and not taking any shot at you personally while I could for minutes watching you, is foul play and deserves "punishment"? Quite a funny way of morales. Futhermore, do you consider it kind to take about every vehicle on the server for your 2-3man clan, seing that you got all helis on the server, nearly all land based vehicles apart from useless buses? Looting camps, destroying them with vehicles? Stealing vehicles, destroying the tires of the ones you dont want? Yet Im the bad guy, shooting at a tire and leave you be with the Ural after that, pretty much the best land based vehicle to get? Eh, what? ;) On the other hand, I picked up one of your clanmates at the coast in my Mi17, donated a m107+ammo to him, got him equipped at NWA, bandaged and morphined him, waited for him to return when he was bugged so I can fly him away again. All being in danger of him turning against me and taking the heli. I guess lucky me that I actually got one from your clan who doesnt have a two-sided way of viewing the whole morale department. Sucks to be a bad guy like me, awesome to be a good guy like you. So yeh, good to know what your idea of nice play is and where we stand. Btw, yeh, shooting an as50 at a bright moonlit night is pretty easy, I can teach you :) -
This is what I am looking for in a private hive.
klesh posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hi, Just got killed again by a hacker. 2nd time in as many days, probably the 10th or more time in total and I am just done with wasting hours of my life to be some kiddie's ragdoll. I stayed on the public main hive because I got attached to my +50,000 humanity hero skin. I worked hard to get it, but I just can't take the cheaters anymore. I am looking for a secure private hive with active admins and as little to no hacking as possible. I am looking for a server that runs plain ol' DayZ. I don't want 24/7 daylight, extra weapons, +500 vehicles or any of that nonsense. 3rd person on, crosshairs or nameplates I could take or leave. I'm not sure what whitelisting is actually, but if it helps keep the clientele in check then I am interested in that as well. I am in GMT-5, so preferably something that has a reasonable ping from the east coast of the States. If this sounds like your private hive server then please let me know. Thanks. -
Looking for a decent private hite

✔ Hacking and such is not condoned in any way. Totally hacker free (as far as we know) for months ✔ Admins abusing powers is a no-go. One admin. He's over 40 years old and owns a gaming centre. Friendly, responsible and active. ✔ Killing players in any way is allowed Not if they are new spawns on the coast. Unarmed and north, yes. Armed and on coast, yes. ✔ No tags ✔ No bullet traces Dayz Commander shows tracers on for a few minutes after restart, but then it goes off. ✔ Private hive Pre-paid for at least another 6 months. X No third person You'll be very limited in your choice of servers if you want first-person only. ✔ No shift click marker on the map You can make a personal marker, but the waypoint system is disabled. ✔ No crosshair ✔ No deathmessages ✔ Chernarus ✔ Whitelist Bonuses: ✔ Server runs the latest v175 community beta (which means you need to download 3 PBO files). ✔ Teamspeak server is provided, and unlike most other servers, most people use it and team up with each other. The rule is: don't shoot the people in your TS channel, but everyone else is a legitimate target. ✔ Usually between 5-25 players - time to gear-up, repair vehicles, pitch tents and raid camps when it's not busy, and plenty of PvP when it is. If you want 40 players on all the time, which usually just results in constant deathmatching, then this server may be too quiet for you. The server is Wireworld EU (based in UK). -
If you use DayZ Commander to manage your favourite servers, you can add your friends to a buddy list and then see if they're online and which server they're on. However, once you're all on the same server, you'll need to use teamspeak to co-ordinate and meet-up. The advice I give to new players is to skip the public servers, and get straight onto a private whitelisted server. I can't believe I wasted so may weeks initially playing on the public hive where there is so much 'shooting-on-sight', clan banditry, hacking and mindless deathmatching in Electro/Cherno. The game can offer so much more. If you're in Europe, the Wireworld UK server I play on is great for noobs! We only usually have between 5-25 players on, so you have enough space and time to gear-up, repair vehicles and pitch some tents (and steal stuff from other people) during the quieter times, but you can easily find some PvP action during the busier times. Nearly everyone uses the server's teamspeak, so you can jump into a channel and join up with some players for the evening informally without having to join a clan, or just make a channel for you and your friends, and play against the rest of us. The rule is: don't shoot people in your own TS channel, but everyone else (except new spawns) is a legitimate target. What kind of armaments are we talking about in this group M-16's assorted rifles? What kinda vehicles? -
You should be able to siphon fuel from broken but not destroyed vehicles. You should also be able to steal parts off of vehicles like hull parts, wheels, glass, and gas tanks. Engines would be stretching it too far. I 100% agree that vehicles should be common, and fuel a rarity. There are millions of vehicles in developed countries. It would be no problem finding working ones everywhere.

DayZ the Return: "Two years after the outbreak the war was won, but at a cost. The world had been pushed to the brink under the relentless horde of infected. While mankind is safe a great deal of the planet is still occupied by those who didn't survive the plague. With the world's professional militaries resources heavily depleted a new way forward has been proposed. Those that lost everything are given an opportunity to stake a claim in a new world. Chernarus has been selected as the first phase of "Operation Takeback" in which the UN has authorized Mercenaries, PMCs and individual treasure hunters a stake to any land they can clear of the infected threat and fortify until standard government functions can be implemented. This has created what is being called the 'Grey Rush' in which people are sweeping Chernarus and building fortified positions, there is no law and every day more and more heavily armed groups are landing ashore. Cherarnus itself was considered ground zero for the infection and with it spreading so quickly a great deal of supplies, equipment and vehicles remain. In a world with now limited resources it's a gold mine of untapped potential!" --- Technical Details --- Server Name - Search for DZG to see our list of available servers IP: 64.94.100.86 (all servers are on the same ip) All servers are in veteran mode. Details: On our PvP servers you will spawn with rotating kits that change every 30 minutes, we have in-game leaderboard announcements and players can now build persistent bases using dayz item components (e.g. Tank Traps, Wire, Wood, Scrap metal etc.) to create large bases with individual keypads and locks so you can secure vehicles and tents to you and your clan. We have the G36 weapons added in to our crash sites. Crash sites also are unfamiliar to those being implemented in 1.7.5 where they spawn on the map over time rather than at server start. We've also got extensive (500+) vehicle spawns, including new vehicles not seen on the DayZ Chernarus maps. Players will parachute into the map to prevent any form of spawn camping. For the full list of changes please visit this link:http://www.dayzgamin...-1-2/post/first If you're curious about the gameplay and some of the features check out these live stream recordings from some recent DayZ Live Streamers: http://www.twitch.tv...293913?t=27m20s http://www.twitch.tv...9934?t=1h25m30s http://www.twitch.tv...3265414?t=8m35s Admin note: We want to see which groups can organize and try to 'control' as much of the map as possible. We're looking at how we can reward/formalize in the future and would love to see organized PvP groups interact with groups wishing to rebuild Chernarus.
