Tell me your best kill...
Private Pop-Tarts replied to bilbey's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The other day as I was playing on a private hive server with many vehicles.. As two of my other teammates and I were making our way back to our camp, out of no where there is an escalade behind us. While looking behind us in third person I crash into a bush, slightly damaging my engine. Then two people get out and shoot our car blowing it up and killing my two teammates.. yet somehow I survived with my life. I then ran to nearby trees and began to look around for the people. Thinking these guys were hackers I didn't think I would find them, but as I was just about to leave the area I saw a player running in the field. I took position in a tree and blended in very well with my ghillie suit, then took him out with my G36K. Next I begin to look for other players because I know they wouldn't just leave without that guys stuff. Out of the corner of my eye I see some zombies attempting to hit something in a bush, so I begin to unload on it. Just after I see a kill message, the escalade comes out of no where and tries to escape, I say OH HEYULL NAH!! and start blazing that car with everything I had. I begin to run at the car and notice that the person driving the car was dead on the ground. I just avenged my two teamates, got us a new/better car, and some new gear. And the best part... I recorded all of it, it'll probably be on youtube soon! DON'T FUCK WITH THE BUNNY BRIGADE! -
You're not the only one man, I have experienced possibly every script there is out there. I play 100% legit (I don't take gear or weapons I have the slightest feeling are hacked, no combat logging, no despawning, no recycling, no exploiting of any kind) the most I have ever done is die every once in awhile to get a better spawn if I'm in like BFE. Nothing sucks more than having someone replace my DMR, M107, or even M16A4 ACOG with a bunch of tempting gear that I am going to drop, and a Ghillie that I feel filthy wearing (lol). Or spawning on a bus 12,000m off the map, and being forced to jump out fully geared. Or my personal favorite, being spawned in the ocean/no-return island and having to watch your avatar helplessly float there and starve to death. I recently just started playing on 'private hives', and feel disgusted doing so. I don't feel like I would if I was on a public server. What is worse, is that a lot of the admins of these hives are no better than the damned script kiddies. The most recent server I have been playing, I had just gotten fairly geared with a friend of mine (him: M249 SAW w/ 2 belts, British Pack, food and drink to make two map trips; me: M4A3 CCO w/ 2 1/2 mags, British Pack, Rangefinders, surplus food and drink) and we had found a UAZ, so we fixed it and took it. I had a Fishing boat parked between Cherno and Elektro that we were gonna grab and take to Skalisty to possibly find a chopper, but I decided to check out Rog first. We get up to Rog, and what do we find? Fully green UH-1H huey with a Bambi looting it. We ask him to join us, he doesn't respond, gets out, and proceeds to fire on us with an Enfield. Friend takes him out with a few shots to the body; no biggie. We take the Huey and start strafing fields to find Heli Crashes. We do that for a few hours, and then he decides to hang it up for the night. He parks the Heli WAYYYYYYYY up in a tiny clearing miles from any travelled route where we know nobody would go (by the edges of the map). He dropped me off back at the UAZ and I drove it back up there, parked it about 400m away from the heli to avoid losing it aswell, and hid it in three pine trees where it was COMPLETELY INVISIBLE, then wrote down the coords. on a sticky note and stuck them to my computer desk, and log off DayZ for the night. I log back on THIS MORNING, to check our stuff, and it is all gone. Huey, UAZ, and the two tents I had also set up. We know this wasn't a reset, because it wasn't due for a reset till tonight, and we know it wasn't a hacker. So, that leaves the admins. Which I can tell you for a fact, because they have been using their admin maps to build a 'base' with all the vehicles on the map, they were talking about it in side chat with each other, but I never got a screen of it. Kicker is, that one of the admins had been giving me and my buddy problems about esping, why? I do not know, but I'm thinking it is because we had found the UAZ in the middle of the woods, and he had done a shitty job of hiding it. So he blamed me and my friend for esping, and told us we were being put on watch, when me and my friend both know we have been plaiyng 110% legit. Point I'm getting at with this short story, is that you really are never safe in DayZ from cheating until the standalone. Combat logging, Exploiting, Admin Abuse, and Script Sissies all make me sick, because like you, I love playing this game. I go to work, I go to school, I deal with my wife, and this is the shit I do to blow off steam for 2-3 hours before bed. Suprising how easily a 12 year old moron that thinks he's funny because he just came from CoD: BO2 or BF3 and can't play a combat sim for shit so takes it out by cheating, can ruin your day, and your 30 day survival streak.

Just something I was curious about, while the topic of military vehicles in DayZ makes some people frown with disgust I was curious if its possible and would be enjoyable to have something akin to an old fighter plane. Something from say World War 2. Some examples I can think of would be something similar to a russian Yak, British Spitfire or Hurricane or German Mischatsmit. Whether they'd still have functioning Machine guns or simply be used as air transport and something fun to mess with. Some picture based examples: Russian Yakalev Yak-9 British Spitfire Yugoslavian Air force Hawker Hurricane German Nazi Messerschmitt Bf 109

DayZ Balkan | Custom Map | Day Only | Private | Vehicles >200 [Shop, Dogs, Apache, Lock vehicles, Auto refuel, Minefields,100+ Military Bases, TSW]
DayZbalkan replied to DayZbalkan's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
No but u can destroy mines using your gun (In dangerous situations with Vehicles or something ) haha No problem bro ;) -
I like the idea of adding crop dusters and the like to the game. It would indeed be interesting if we could modify the vehicles we find to add weapons. You say crop duster, I say bus B) Just saying, bus + 8 or 10 people hanging out the window with a couple on top in makeshift turrets..... oh my. Not to mention we should be able to shoot out of moving vehicles!

each night any destroyed vehicles get respawned. thanks to my community of GRADE A drivers/pilots... :P....I always have some stuff to respawn. apply for password and check out the forum http://huntersden.forumotion.com

1st hand experience, the hacker was willing to demonstrate how scripts/hacks work this line does infact make reference to a hacker/scripter. *although there might be exceptions. Why do i know this?? I called a guy out for some guns I seen an his canty ability to run towards people, vehciles in the game. Now as an ADMIN/OWNER I have every Anti-Cheat program they have made, after reviewing my logs and calling him out on it, he asked how i knew for sure! I copy pasted this command line "00:03:58 - RemoteExec Log: #1 ************* (************************************) - #85 "this enableSimulation false;this allowDammage false;this disableAI 'FSM';this disableAI 'ANIM';this disableAI 'MOVE';"" Told him it popped up in orange on my logs. He then asked if I could look at the logs while he tried other things, he spawned vehicles, weapons and other things that ALL triggered the command line and/or similar ones in orange(text usually appears in black) After seeing him SPAWN items IN FRONT OF MY FACE and Immidiately checking my logs I can confirm scripters/hackers can be identified by this line.

This is a great idea. Tents are near useless on a server that people actually play on. If a server consistently has 50 people playing, that's hundreds if not a thousand different people playing on that server. The maps are big but they just aren't that big where you can hide a tent (That sticks out like a sore thumb) from a thousand people. Last night I was trying to find a good spot to set up my tent. Looked at the map, found 4 different spots. At each spot I visited there were already tents and/or vehicles hidden. It would be nice to have a small spot where you could stash some stuff, and be relatively sure it is going to be there when you come back. Having your buried cache disappear when you die is stupid. What would be the point?

I am going to add on to your points here, and break it down into slightly smaller catagoeries. Solo (You, yourself, and I); Pros; Concealment is easy. Less Food, Drink, Ammo, Medical Supplies, and gear to carry. No "Friendly Fire." Your Pick of the best gear you find. Cons; Can Be lonely No Blood Transfusions with out massive risks from randoms. Can be flanked, and snucked upon easier Easy Target Hunter Killer Teams (Typically 2-3 players) & Squads (4-6players); Pros; Extra Eyes Less susceptible to being flanked and snucked upon Extra firepower More room for gear Conversations Trusted person for blood transfusions Covered while moving into a potential "Hot Zone" More ground covered Better for "Armed Vehicles" such as the "Huey" Helicopter More likely to be left alone (whose going to risk a 1 v 6 battle?) Cons; More Food, Drink, Ammo, and Gear required Less concealable Everybody has to figure out what gear goes to whom. (assigning roles to people helps with what gear they get, you have a brillant sniper, but is kinda sucks at close quarters, give them the sniper man, you find another one take it.) More penitential for "Friendly Fire" (Communicate all the time, your going to pull the trigger? Say "Sniper Firing AS50" for example or "Support firing." Think you see a player call it out and say where you see them, compass heading, landmarks, etc. Your going to move up, "Rifleman moving up right side." I am working on a post that'll cover more on multiple person tactics.

DayZ rmod FLESH server, cars, jets, helicopters, and tanks Oh MY
TheUSMarine posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Flesh server is a custom rmod server. If you don’t already know, rmod is a version of DayZ that allows different verity of vehicles and weapons, such as black hawks, tanks, and others you will not find in DayZ, and they are rather in abundance. There are over 500+ vehicles that respawn regularly on the map of Chernarus. There are many custom bases around the map, most containing barracks, supermarkets, vehicle service points and all sorts of things. These things, along with weapons, planes, and bases can be purchased from the admin. If you want to play a fun PVP server with tanks and jets and helis, than this is the server for you. So come play FLESH INC. Rmod is required to play on this server. So follow this link and watch the video for installation. The easiest way to find this server on DayZ commander is to search the word FLESH, the server IP is 173.192.170.85:3085 and its that easy, so come play with us!!! THANKS!!...!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lapzfjwcwxg -
Appreciate the amount of work you guys put in this "for free" so far and Im grateful for this awesome game. But here goes the but... this patch seriously f...ed up so many things terribly. Tents, duping, full ammo on reconnect again, vehicles being doubled... but the worst thing for me is the Zeds. I always thought you wanted to go for a realistic approach to the Zombie Apocalypse, yet these respawn rates undermine that completely. Its fine for me if the aggro range is increased by shooting, fine with me that the Zeds are more of a threat by not making that aggro noise anymore, but if I clear out a whole town to be able to loot in peace, well you have like 30seconds before they respawn, never giving you a break. Is it realistic, that after clearing 100 Zeds in a town, they will magically appear again within seconds? Maybe add more Zeds to a single building to increase the threat by them, maybe add Zeds to the areas surrounding towns/buildings and have them start walking towards the city when they hear a distant gunfire, maybe have respawn times in minutes and not seconds. But the way it is right now, its just a joke imo. Another thing, that is very annoying: You cant land a heli anymore for refueling. Since gas tanks are always near buildings, there are Zeds, but before you even reach the ground they already start damaging the heli. Everytime so far, 6 glasses went yellow just by landing and getting hit by 1-2 Zeds before hitting the ground. You actually have to have one guy parachute and clear the area, if you dont want to repair 6 windscreens everytime you land for refueling. Is this supposed to be like that? Maybe have windscreen glasses actually be more of a challenge to break for Zeds than with just 2 hits... I seriously doubt I could break the windscreens of a military heli even with a baseball bat that easily.

Just look in less traveled areas. The only vehicle you may find in Cherno/Elektro is the bus. If you really want to mess with vehicles, go on Taviana.

I been playing servers where they say have over 900+ vehicles but I can't seem to find any. Any tips?

ZeroSurvival.Com | New UK Private Hive | Simple Whitelisting | Forum Stats | Custom guns buildings and code without a mod download
AdjustedJunk replied to seaweeduk's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Great server, admins are friendly and helpful but will blow your head off given half a chance lol. Love the custom buildings(Barracks, Fire hall @ NEA, Market @ Kamenka, Fire hall @ Berezino, among others) custom loot/vehicles and many more fun little add-ons. I hear they will be going the dedicated server route soon so they'll likely be running multiple maps and probably even a wasteland server as well from what I hear. They also have fun server events from time to time("Survivor Games"-type event most recently). Currently the server is a bit dead so it's perfect for bambis :) -
Hi guys, I'm hoping the forums might help generate some interest in the new community we've started building at http://www.ZeroSurvival.com please check our website to see all of the custom features included in our server currently. The main features for the lazy are: No mod downloads Custom weather - no fog ever! Rain also occurs less frequently than usual Custom debug monitor which even shows FPS Custom loot tables (no double barrelled shotguns or crossbows, no as50's, also L115's, L85s, AK107's and G36C's are present in barracks and crash sites) Custom Helicopter crash site loot (soon with different varieties of site) Random weapon crate drops Over 60 custom buildings placed in the 3d editor Loads of vehicles (150+) including non vanilla ones New vehicle spawn points Permanent daytime (nights are coming once we lock the moonlight to a high value) We had a strong user base for our server of around 20-40 people at peak UK hours before white-listing and an IP/Port change have caused the numbers to drop back down to their current levels. We are now rebuilding and improving from scratch, after programming a custom white-listing application, and making further server enhancements. We have a player referral system on the way too so if you refer a new player to the server your backpack will be upgraded for a month. We will also be moving to dedicated hardware in the near future. We have our white-listing in place so that all is needed is a forum account, you will also notice from our forums we are going to be doing cool things with stats etc using this account. Feedback is appreciated I hope to see some of you in game soon :) 37.130.229.228:3238 / http://www.ZeroSurvival.com

As people have said, you need a tent or a vehicle to store stuff over restart. Both have their pros and cons, but for long-term storage, I prefer the tent. It's small, green, and can't be driven away. Don't get me wrong, vehicles are very useful for many reasons, but for storage, they can be found and taken or simply hacked away, and can blow up randomly during your goings about. Ideally you'd have both, with the vehicle just carrying extra food/drink and ammo, saving space for loot you find, with a tent(s) hidden carefully to hold the more important stuff and extra caches of supplies. but you take what you can get. As for where to find these, tents can be found typically in supermarkets, but do spawn in any residential building. As for vehicles, refer to http://dayzdb.com/map to find general spawn points. Be sure to look in the area around those locations, as it's not quite exact. However, don't expect them to be there, as players usually nab the more sought after ones quickly, and each point is only a chance of spawning a vehicle. Also note that boats and bicycles don't have storage space and motorcycles only hold 5 items, no backpacks or weapon/tools.

is dayz 100% PvP on the long term?
plrsniper replied to _Anubis_ (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes, DayZ should be about team play (not denying lonewolfing though) and building up your team, I totally agree with that. I too have played EvE Online and i wanted to battle other players there as well. But my brother wanted to farm ISK and do industrial stuff in hi-sec. We joined corporations and worked together to build up a fleet of ships, we had several billions in ISK and assets and where doing just great in terms of economics and industry but neither of us had any PvP experience and we rarely ventured into low-sec. If we where war decced we jumped corp and waited for the "evil griefers" to go away. We complained about all the wars, we fled the scene and continued on with our farming activities. To top it off, we bought time codes with ISK so we didn't spend a single penny on the monthly fee... All we ever did was farm ISK in highsec by missions, trading, building and mining. Eventually it came to a point where you ask yourself every minute of every day... WHAT'S THE POINT? Why do i farm all this ISK, equipment and ships? Why am i spending ever more ISK on super expensive officer items? Why am i mining this ore day in and day out to make more ships to sell or fit if all i ever intend to do with them is run missions? I had three accounts running at the same time, missions stopped being a challenge after 2 weeks of play. I stopped tankfitting my ships and instead fit them for maximum damage and by sheer overwhelming DPS i beat the missions before the NPC's could get through my shields. There was zero challenge in that, no fear just the day to day grind. My brother had 5 accounts and while he sensed there was still some kind of challenge (or fear) involved in doing missions (he tankfitted his 5 accounts) he too had no challenge in doing missions. It just took him slightly longer to make the ISK. DayZ is similar to EvE in that sense. There is no risk involved in fighting zombies really, if you know what you are doing then zombies are just mobile hurdles for you to overcome and the rewards are way too great for the risk involved (similar to running hi-sec level 4 missions in EvE) and thus it gets boring the moment you have tried all that the game has to offer to you. What differs DayZ from EvE is that in DayZ there is no hi-sec areas. You are a target anywhere at any time no matter what gear you have with you. Remove hi-sec from EvE and you would find that half of the playerbase would rage quit right away. A big portion of those that remain would complain day in and day out and the rest would relish and actually enjoy the game more. You would have a mass return of players from the past who have waited for this change but in the end the game would be at a loss of players. Now, that might sound like i agree with you but what it really is about is. If you don't like PvP then play Hello Kitty instead of a game that involves combat between players. Consider DayZ without PvP for a second. Would it be challenging to you? If you knew you could run straight through Elektro with your pants down and unload your Glock at every zombie you come across and no player could harm you in any way. Would DayZ still be fun? What's the point in having assault rifles, sniper rifles and light machine guns in DayZ when you can easily use a pistol to get around? And that is before you consider just how effective the hatchet is... Why should you only start to care if you live or die once you have found a good backpack and/or a DMR/M107/AS50/FN-FAL etc etc? Why should you be safe from harm just because you spawned 20 minutes ago and still haven't found a gun? I don't care if i live or die and i am fully geared. All i care about is finding a real challenge and the only way to find a real challenge is to teach every player, new or old, how to do PvP. I feel no different when fighting players at NWA as i do fighting a Lee Enfield user in Elektro. In both cases they are just as skilled (that is mainly, not skilled at all) and the only difference is players up at NWA camp even harder. They will still die once they reveal themselves as i flank around and find them prone in their ghillie suits with their huge AS50 sniper rifles looking into the airfield. The only way you will learn PvP is by being exposed to it from the start and that is why our EvE experience failed so hard. We sat safe in hi-sec and did no PvP at all and we cared too much about dying to risk going into PvP. DayZ is not EvE in that sense. The moment you log in you are a target and knowing that teaches you how to deal with the threat. And that is just it, the only threat that ever exists in DayZ right now is other players. But players are trying really hard to avoid this threat alltogether and instead opt to stay out in the middle of nowhere farming gear and vehicles that will never be used properly. And when we come and kill them they rage and cry because they have spent several days collecting it all and they don't know how to retaliate because they have never learned how to fight. Elektro is an excellent place to learn PvP and more players should take the time to learn PvP before they start hoarding stuff. Enough stuff to equip every player on the server several times over... That is never used and only kept by 3-4 players. EDIT: Oh and one more thing... If i let a fresh spawn run through Elektro and let him leave with a map, compass, food, drink and a gun i will not see that player for up to a week as he will go into the wilderness and hide there. He will not interact with other players nor will he seek out any action. His primary objective will be, find a vehicle. Fix it and drive it to the remotest parts of the map and hide it there. Why should the server have to deal with his bandwidth? DayZ is a multiplayer game... Why should we let players treat it as their own single player experience for weeks on end? If you plan to be a hero, medic or bandit then fine by me... Just don't make excuses for being out in the middle of nowhere where you can't interact with other players. That is why i stay in Elektro, the chances of finding another player there increases tenfold over finding them inlands. -
DaRT - A Lightweight DayZ (and ArmA) RCon Tool (v2.1 | 11/10/2015)
WalkerDown (DayZ) replied to domistyle's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
What i miss, and the real reason of why im still using BattleWarden: - Windows (logs) are separate in Dart, but unfortunately these are almost unusable because if you follow one of them, the others aren't updated. So in example if i'm following the "All" one, but then i want to switch for a moment to the "Chat" one to follow the chat, i'll find it empty coz i were following the other one. BattleWarden updates boths together, so you can switch between them without any information loss. - Chat colours: it's very hard to follow the chat in a busy server. The chat colors helps alot: blue for global.. yellow for vehicles etc. -
[SA Suggestion] Corpses in vehicles (and more)
thesodesa replied to Auslovich's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Sure, this sounds sensible. Keep in mind though that when it comes to coding this sort of stuff it can be pretty damn tricky to make it so that sometimes the bodies fall out and sometimes they don't when it comes to closed vehicles. Not talking about motorcycles here. (Though not impossible. It could be implemented as a probability but I hate that approach. I'd rather not have the game delayed by 2 months because of a slightly practical vanity feature). So to simplify things, if you're in a car or a chopper you don't fall out, but on a motorcycle or a bicycle or you would. Simple to code, just mark the different vehicles as either open or closed. Wouldn't delay the game's release too much. ;) -
We did the same thing to fix the UH1H ammo reload kick. As Ameo said before, Dwarden can u please add the new vehicles in the attachto.txt filter. Thanks for your job. DJ Teschmi

is dayz 100% PvP on the long term?
plrsniper replied to _Anubis_ (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I never said i hunt fresh spawns only. I hunt everyone, no matter what gear they have or how long they have been around. To me you come across as just another whiner who can't deal with being killed and want everything served on a platter. Why? Because you shape what others say to suit your own agenda so you have someone else to blame for your own mistakes. I have been around the map several times the past weeks but the one place where you are sure to find players is Elektro. If you go to NWA you will find a player 1 out of 10 visits and a group of players once every 20 visits. And that is long before you realize that these players are just as horrible at PvP as the rest of the fresh spawns in Elektro. They sit out in the open and unload on zombies making their presence known to the entire server and most of them die to zombie attack anyways, leaving me with nothing to kill in the first place. Then you have Stary, Zele, Berezino, Balota, Krasnostav + NEA and all the other little places players go to find good gear at. Each of them are even more deserted than NWA. If you combine all of them into one you may find as many players during your day as you do in Elektro in 1 hour. But once again, they are all just as bad at PvP as the next guy. They play the game to hoard gear and fix vehicles, they don't know a thing about combat with other players. Nor do they care to learn and instead they cry like little babies when we come up and kill them off. The other day we decided to make a round trip around chernarus and kill off a bunch of carebears and all their vehicles. We hit them at the factory inside the Dolina, Polana, Orlovets triangle and killed one of their fully geared players just as they where leaving with a land rover. The other player exited the vehicle and remained in the factory for about 10 minutes before he decided to hop into the vehicle. (My mistake was to not shoot out the tires of the vehicle though) And a few moments later he jumped into the vehicle and ran off, leaving his friends fully geared corpse behind. And 1-2 minutes after that we had a MI-17 circling the area for about an hour doing nothing useful at all. Hardly entertaining. Mind you, these guys have "sworn" that if we leave Elektro they would kill us without problems. After a while, not finding anything else there we move on north to look for heli crashes. We find one, bring some ammo and the sidechat reveals that some snipers are shooting everyone in Elektro. We decide to head back down south to deal with them. As we run back past the Factory we are suddenly being shot upon. Wasn't paying attention to our surroundings and one of us where hit and bleeding but still alive and managed to bandage. I administer a blood bag while our third guy flanks around to come up behind the threat. This third guy is rather noobish though and he runs straight into the attacker, no more than 2 meters away from eachother they engage in a nasty gunfight. The enemy has an M14AIM and our guy fields an M24. Clearly the M14AIM at 2 meters distance should rape face against a bolt action sniper but the guy seems to have no experience at all and simply unloads his magazine and only managing to hit our guy once. Our guy in turn shoots back once without the scope and misses. And the second shot hits home right in the attackers chest and he falls down unconscious and bleeding. One more shot and the guy is now dead... It took less than 5 seconds before the side chat was being filled with hackusations like "i hit you 5 times!!! You cheater!" and "Noob kiddies can't play the game without hax" and lots of profanity. We haven't seen this particular player ever since. --- Yet you have the tenacity to say we can't deal with people firing back at us? That we are scared of dying? We do PvP every day, we mix in camping Elektro with roaming the inlands. We fear nothing but total humiliation. (As in, we fail miserably and get shot down doing something really noobish) We also occasionally help other players. We do give people rides from time to time, we give away vehicles we don't need and we always help people who have issues with the bugs in the game etc. We tell players where there are cars to be found and fixed (and no, we don't camp said vehicles either) and i have given morhpine and blood to people in need. I have spent many hours playing the hero, medic and helper and now i am playing the KoS bandit. Just about every time we kill an unarmed player we are "camping Elektro kids" and every other time we kill a armed player we are "evil people who do nothing but KoS". The remaining people we kill actually say "GG, that was fun" and learn from their mistakes but that is extremely rare. Thus in conclusion, all players (who aren't bandits) want to do in DayZ is farm gear all day long and fix cars and helicopters. They don't want other players in the game. They could just as well play on their own pw protected private hive.
