Vehicles not respawning

If anyone is still having issues with vehicles not respawning, I can help you fix it. Things you will need to do: -Have FTP access to the server -Have "stop" and "restart" access to the server -PM me and I will walk you through the process of fixing this. Hopefully this hasn't been suggested before (I did do a half assed search btw) so I would like to suggest the following: 1. Zombie vehicle crashes. These would be like heli crash sites but spawn on roads randomly (out of player range). Basically imagine you hear a vehicle speeding towards you. Ok nothing unusual but then as it gets close you realise it's driving erratically (swerving from side to side etc) and finally plows into a tree, wall or other obstruction. Zeds then vacate the vehicle and begin attacking you (they could be injured from the crash if they introduce this kind of thing). You would get to use the vehicle but it would be heavily damaged. The vehicle could also have some random loot inside (could be a family with food/medical supplies and some basic weapons fleeing the horror). I think it would be a good one for immersion. 2. Zombies entering vehicles. No real reason for this more than it would be pretty funny. Imagine your team all get in their vehicle ready for another adventure. You all head off and someone does a quick head count Then to your horror you realise you have an unwanted hitchiker. the brakes are slammed on and hilarity ensues :D 3. Zombies near vehicles could enter them and maybe try to drive off. Ok the weakest of the 3 but it could be quite annoying especially if you are in a bush scoping a car out, you are sure there is nobody about and are just about to make your move when a zed gets in it and slams it into a wall :D Ok yes I know these are stupid but until the SA come out they will get worse and worse. Thoughts?

Please. The SVD not only looks better it is much more accurate at medium to medium longer ranges because the chevrons have very sharp tips. Stick a post it note to your screen with the zeroing and bam. Killed a guy at 328m while he tried to hit me with his M4A1 CCO SD. Then took one of the three vehicles but that's another story. The rarity of ammo is what makes it a terrible weapon on MOST servers. I play on a server where I leave mags behind cause they're so common but I play Namalsk. Much more challenging. Again custom server but SVD will fuck you up way better at anything around or under 700m with a bit of practise. It's capable of 1000m but that's a stationary target with rangefinders and since statistically 80%-90% of kill occur within 100m, snipers are only if you go hunting in high traffic areas. Also has 180m zombie attraction range compared to 455m. To avoid hate I'd like to point out its a matter of personal choice and server type.

True though when I play I always imagine it's very soon after the outbreak and there might just be infected 'on the turn'. Since we already have heli crash sites (that to me says it's an army heli which recently crashed as one or more of the crew was infected) then why not other vehicles actually being driven? I do agree though it would probably be less scary when you realise it's not another player driving though the reward is probably higher. I've been playing an origins server lately where 3 AI helis patrol the map and even once I figured out they were not player controlled it's still pretty unsettling to have them fly over. I really just put that the ideas were stupid as I'm used to people giving me shit about them and thought I may as well do it myself. Actually some of the best ideas I see here get heavily criticized by most people.

Not too sure tbh... we have had similar issues before which we solved (at first) by altering the missions.pbo files. Not exactly sure how (1 of our other server ops did something with de-compiling these files and compiling them again) this was done, but it kinda worked. We had vehicles, but they didn't spawn on the normal locations and they didnt save their locations either after server restart, so basicly this was pretty shit. At some point I pm'ed 1 of the DayZ staff members who fixed it for our server instance. Did the same now hoping he can fix it again for us.. Im guessing this has something to do with the streaming from the main hive database (since we DID have vehicles after patching to 1.7.6(.1) for about 2 weeks). But my guess is as good as yours... :( -

You know... judging by what I've seen in the testing... Well... You can now see actual items in the trunk of a wrecked car. The actual ones, the models. But these are only wrecks and loot spawn can be a bit aside from the concept of the cargo in vehicles... But... this may be a step to what you just have described. -
It is really sad to see that people just can think black or white ..."An easy way to build bases" means only one way how large bases could ( easily) work using predefined structures. I never said this is the only way that bases/camps/fortification should be handled in the SA. I also like the idea of underground bases and I also would like to see constructing mechanics to build temporary camps or to fortify buildings and stuff. But if we are really talking about bases for something like endgame scenarios, places that would require teamwork, scenarios where large groups would try to restore civilisation..places that medics or military units could use for rollplaying, then it would be a pain in the ass if we could place only some shitty barricades that can easily be deconstructed or destroyed. NO one would be that stupid and spend a whole day with constructing a base just to find it destroyed and looted next time he joins the game...sorry but this does not make any sense !!!!!! We would end up again with clans and bandits hiding their stuff in tents on different servers and parking their vehicles and helicopters far beyond the playable map ...which really sucks !!!! If people would read the the op more carefully they would understand that I am not talking about 100% safe bases . There should be of course ways and tactics to attack and overtake such places and there should also be a time limit for how long this bases could stay safe without player activity. But attacking and overtaking this places should only be possibe when players are inside the camp and not when everybody is offline and has no chance to defend it. Also I am not talking about dozens of bases placed all over the map...only a very few structures that also has been suggested and discussed here : http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/122076-huge-structures-in-dayz-sa/ I am pretty sure that if not a few huge structures in the SA ( this includes instanced and underground bases) will provide safety for your stuff while being offline, we will never see something like an endgame happening ! Edit : finding a safe place is one of the main aspects of all zombie novels and movies . in " Day by Day Armageddon" written by J.L Bourne the survivors use a Titan missile launch facility as their base...and guess what..it is safe inside (booooooooo) ;)

Already tried, didnt work (even after waiting for at least 12 hours). Still no vehicles. -
A few vehicles on our server have not been respawning as well on reboots. Public Hive US 4275. Our UH-1H heuy went down 5 days ago and wont respawn. AFAIK it only takes 24hrs for helicopters to repop. Also we are now missing a Blue Van S1203 going on 48hrs and quite a few bicycles and ATV. Is this issue going to be resolved or is there a fix? -Kat

Yeah, it wasn't that interesting IMO. They mainly talked about the rise of private and custom hives and especially about how hives with a lot of vehicles change the pace of the game. They really didn't have much to say about the development of the SA. Oh well, it might peek the intrest of those who are living under rocks and haven't yet joined the fold :). -

I know this is not new, but the term hacker comes out like is cool. This kids that pay for cheats are not hackers. They can't even read or write a full sentence nor speak right. They are just bambi cheating lil punks and get all emotional with fake proud feeling of accomplishment Hue hue. A hacker will dry rape your computer man and not even buy it a drink. Your whole system information will be super fuuu! Poor douchebags open them emails. The fact is there is custom servers that have different features and layout settings and people accused for hacking when they are just experienced players come out very often as "hacker", so make no mistake this I seen with my own peeled eyes. Non the less here is my report since the guys here Admins are very knowledgeable and might be able to know what server I'm specifically talking about to please help contact this Private Hive Admins or lead me the way to let them know about this, becasue this is a really nice server where I help all the bambis with blood transfussions and other medical needs :) I've been killed numerous times by this guys that cheat and pop out of thin air and I also gotten killed by regular people. Mostly people get killed looting. Thats a fact. Now on this server name is: BambiLand: Lots of Aircraft and Vehicles - Bambi Survival Kit! Debug-Refuling Stations DayZChernarus IP: 173.193.205.66:3425 lol I saw people cheating left and right. All of them teleporting and all, found numerous medical boxes with all items on the game, all this was on March the 5th at 5pm Eastern US timezone. So aparently is bambiland for bambicheaters trying out their sad brand new cheats. I never take any of that gliched crap. Just reporting this because I got no Idea how to contact the server Admins. Oh they have their names posted on the loading screen and is a really nice server, just sad to see this little douchebags ruin it for new starting players. Ok lets get a little back story out for those of you who have not been around dayz for very long. In-case you did not know dayz became popular due to the fact it was the first zombie survival game that did things well the way dayz does it, and here is something a large amount of game reviews at the time stated was the only reason it was popular, it was the first game ever that you could login to ANY server and have the same character, gear, location, etc. That was due to the central Hive database that Every server connected to. This unified server system made people love DayZ even more. For those of you who are wondering the time frame I am talking about, I am referring to the very early stages of dayz, right around the end of april and mid may. At the time what made dayz so amazing was the thrill of trying to survive with just what you find, and of course the hunt of trying to find a vehicle when less then 50 servers had vehicles and less then like 10 had helis, People were simply in love with trying to find the best possible loot and set up a tent base. A vehicle at the time seemed like an endgame as it saved you from the countless hours of back and fourth between airfields your base and cities. DayZ was simply more about surviving, And from what I can tell what Dean (Rocket) truly wants with DayZ. NOW Now the whole Idea of dayz has changed, most of the old players who made dayz big are gone, and its new players thinking that what dayz is now, is how it has always been. The central Hive is pretty much none existent, logging into pretty much every server will cause you to spawn with a new character and new gear. So right there a huge part of what dayz used to be is changed now. I know this is going to get me a lot of hate, But here goes. And now onto what is the worst thing to happen for dayz "Private Hives". Private Hives have ruined pretty much everything that made DayZ, DayZ. Surviving really is not a thing anymore when you have server admins putting 200+ vehicles on the server which take away from that sort of endgame like goal of finding a vehicle, You now have server admins with the ability to simply repair vehicles to full with the press of a button, and they now have the ability to spawn vehicles where ever they damn well please which is for sure not what dayz was about. Now onto admins giving weapons, changing starting loadout, and more. Allowing admins the ability to give weapons, heal, and do what ever to players is also something that ruined what dayz was all about. You used to have to spend hours upon hours trying to find loot in military barracks and heli crashes (even though they used to almost never work) just to find say a DMR, If you had a squad with a DMR, a winchester, and an M4/M16 or two you were king You had Fun in your group as you knew that the 5 hours you just spent finding that DMR was worth it. Now that is all gone, server admins can simply give them selves guns weapons what ever, and give other players what ever they feel like. Heck you can now change it so instead of starting with basic survival gear you start with the best possible stuff in the game.... That makes playing pretty much pointless. Now this leads me onto what a decent amount of servers are doing, "donate for an as50" or "donate for a loadout of your choice" that sounds an awful lot like pay to win which is something no one expected dayz to ever be. Now granted you will say well not all servers do it. Well your right but a decent amount do, do it which is the reason why i am mentioning it. And onto my last point. NEW PLAYERS Right now is the worst time for players to pickup dayz for the first time as not only do they have to get used to the clunky inventory system, and just learn what dayz is. They now have to choose from what map and what mod of dayz mod they want to play, which as a new player you might not even choose actual dayz on chernarus. You then have to choose one of the 6 thousand servers that are out there knowing that what ever server you join is the one you will need to stick with, but not only that you need to hope you pick a server that 1 the admin is not going to be abusing his powers, and 2 a server that is not going to change maps and you lose all your effort, and 3 one that is not going to be cancelled a week from now and once again you lose all your stuff. Which going back to the THEN part of this section is something you did NOT have to worry about when dayz was more towards rockets vision. And onto the topic WHY PEOPLE WILL BE DISAPPOINTED Lets talk about the title and why I said "Why The Later SA Is Released, The More People Will Be Disappointed" As you may or may not know rocket is developing the game he had always dreamed dayz could be, So that game will be more towards what dayz used to be and not what it has become now. That means at least for a decent amount of time in the beginning, there will be NO private hives, there will simply be the one main Hive that they run. He has said that he does not want to do private hives at first because they want to simply work on fixing bugs and new features at first which will result in possibly large changes that will need to be made on a daily basis to the Hive. No private hives means no "200+ vehicle servers", no "admin maps", no player tracking, no special starting gear and loadouts, no donator classes, no plunking down vehicles where ever you please, none of that. That right there is huge news to those who think dayz SA is going to be like dayz now just with improvements. Personally I hope Rocket does not allow private hives at all for at least a year, It simply changes the idea of DayZ too much, Don't get me wrong I hope admins get some more tools then they get on a official server now, but I hope to what ever god you believe in they don't get all of what they get now. Now for those of you who only play say taviana or only play dayz 2017 and think normal dayz on chernarus sucks, well you are also going to be out of luck as rocket has also stated that modding will NOT be allowed for the foreseeable future as well going back to private hives, they simply want to work on fixing issues and working on improvements to dayz rather then supporting people trying to day one make 20 maps. I am also personally very happy about this news too as no modding means no extra maps which means no private hives will need to be made. From what I just said a lot of you might be thinking to yourself oh what he said is false, SA is going to have everything well its simply not. There are plenty of places for you to look to find sources for what I said, Its all been said by rocket. Plain and simple. Now for those of you who understand what I have said can think to yourself, those who have not played dayz way back when and realize what its truly about may not like SA when it comes out as its simply not going to have the million maps and private hives with admin maps and tools. That right there I know for a fact will make a lot of people hate SA. Then of course the longer the mod is out and SA is still just "in development" players will be buying arma 2 for dayz mod playing it and getting in their heads that is what dayz is and that is what they can expect from SA. If SA would have released back when Rocket said (end of 2012) more people most likely would have expected what they got as even though its only been 3 months private hives were not as big then as they are now, and since then a lot more mods and maps have come out which have changed dayz even more. why do people never read the op ?? Predefined bases or structures would be built by using static fences, walls and buildings etc which can not be decunstructed or destroyed The only way to get in is through the entrance which can be locked. This way gear and vehicles would be safe inside the bases. This is one of the main aspects of the the whole thing. As I stated one then more time " a base that can easily be destroyed and lootetd as soon as the owners are offline is more or less useless" Remember that the reason why the discussion about the modifiable static structures sprung up is because it would be guaranteed to cause the smallest performance hit on the server compared to the other construction options outside of instancing, which is very important Predefined structures would use mainly statics ..that's the point :rolleyes:

Great server! Minty even hopped on and helped us with a squad of NPCs. The firefight was pretty awesome. Removing parts from vehicles works awesome. One thing we were disappointed was lack of Helis. We patroled the map with a little bird and didn't see a single additional Heli. Also, what is the respawn timer on NPCs? We hopped back and forth from the 'hot zones' for a good 3 hours looking for more. -

No hosting company, I use my PC, its a something of a dedicated PvE(20x the zombies), player limit is only 25 so me and my friends(plus some strangers) can play on in, files are heavily modifed by some really nice guy who was kind enough to put effort in helping me start the server, I want to put more vehicles since only so few spawn and zombies just wreck them in a second(Zombie damage buffed to damage of an axe)... Every time I search my problem out I just get hacker sites about death trap vehicles which are spawned with scripts and hacks... -

In my experience, destroyed vehicles respawn at one of the spawnpoints it is supposed to. I haven't seen any vehicles respawn at the place of its destruction lately. -
089 001. Or around there. I've played on high pop servers with constant heli fly overs and the mountain around that area REALLY covers a lot. Your vehicles don't get white dotted by heli's because the mountain covers them. I know it's wide out in the open, but I had a Mi-17 there for 3 day, a huey there for 3 more days, then a little bird there for 2 more days till it was found out. People have gotten lazy in this game and don't do grid searches (that's what I did to find tents) anymore. They simply fly around an area and call it quits. I know it's out in the open, so do what you want. Everywhere else is common place for me to check (black forest, rify, NW of Kamenka, all the normal spots, black lake).

The DB is read during server startup and the vehicles are then spawned in that way. Technically it is possible to spawn vehicles in while the server is up, but this will require knowledge of the scripting side of Arma and you would probably have to disable Battleye to avoid getting yourself banned from your own server. So in short: the only way is through a custom script or "hack". HTH -

I don't think it's possible for admins to spawn vehicles without clicking "Spawn" then rebooting the box. -

You wouldn't believe how sick I am of playing servers and having so many vehicles that they mean nothing to me. The main reason I'm excited for the SA is the return of hive servers that aren't completely ruined by the kids with scripts.
