Hey, been having fun in this server for a few weeks now and have a quite a few regulars on there. Ive spent hours custom coding things to work on namalsk. Base building, booby traps, active combat, anti hacks, flip vehicles, more zombies, and they attack vehicles etc like in 1.7.5.1 but for Namalsk. It's definitely a "bandit" "squad" oriented server, with lots of fully repaired vehicles and the fact that you spawn with load out and can easily find things makes it easy to get into action. It creates some pretty amazing situations. We have a TS available, and all of our other server information is available at ts.det0x.net . Server resets every 6 hours. I'm always willing to listen to player feedback on things, so if there is an over running opinion for Bloodsuckers or EVR that could come as well. I'm a pretty active admin and we have many others active so we keep the hackers out and everyone pretty much has fun even when pvp goes down its friendly. Max Players: 50 Vehicles: 350 (20+ Choppers, mostly civilian choppers) Restart timer: 6 hours Difficulty: Veteran Blood Suckers: ON EVR: Off IP: 198.23.144.109:2302 CUSTOM BUILDINGS AND LOOT ADDED! CUSTOM BASE BUILDING IN GAME LIKE ARMA! I bet the standalone wont come out till after Arma3. Has anyone seen what Arma3 looks like? All the standalone looks like is an Arrma3 mod. :o/ Is it just me or is there nothing being added in the standalone that isn't being worked on in Arma3? A list of things in Arma3 that the dayz team has been going on about like it is unique to their game. Volumetric clouds. better graphics. more interaction with vehicles and the like. clothing system. The ability to keep items in clothing. As far as I can tell the only things they are actually working on by them selves is the zombie AI and adding loot spawns under shit.

We have a new Seattle Day z Namalsk server up and running. Hit 13 players the other day and its been active for about 5 days or so. We have about 7 regular players including ourselves. ARA Hunting Grounds DayZNamalsk Seattle Survival Server \ no BS/EVR \ always day \ start with survival gear+ good backpack, 70+ dirtbikes, lots of working vehicles and choppers \ active admins 173.192.170.97 : 3017 I added lots of vehicles -Start with hunting gear, map+compass, 16 slot backpack, and a pistol -about 70 dirtbikes (we like atv/dirtbike hunting missions) -lots and lots of PBXs, especially at docks -I added many snow camo UAZs in the mountains -There is 1 ka 60 and 2 hueys all spawn needing repair -many little birds and 6 person little birds also added a few camo mi17s -4 Suvs spawn so they are a valued item very quiet I tried to make a decent amount of vehicles since I believe there would be many in towns, army bases, etc I also wanted to add more warm clothes so what I did was place random tents throughout the map that have 1 warm clothes Check it out! Hoping to get the reg population up to around 12-20 or so.. -
Sometimes its to many vehicles being used at same time on the server or someone scripting.

I've heard nothing but good things about Balota Buddies - I was actually going to mention that it sounds like one of the more promising servers. In regards to practicing PvP - I'd say each member of our 4 man team are above average from our Arma2/Day-Z/Wasteland experiences. We've been playing plenty Wasteland to tie us over as a alternative till the standalone (hacking doesn't bother us there) and just now I've took out a 4 man squad solo at the NWAF 1 v 4 one after another, Such a rush! But despite Wasteland being a blast we love the persistent side of Day-Z and loot/vehicles having some sort of value. Thanks guys :) -
I'd post this in Private Hives but i'll just get spammed with completely random servers. Can anyone from experience recommend a good, passworded or policed whitelisted server with a high population in the UK/EU with active admins? My group have now tried over 15 since July and encountered the following issues.. - First issue...The big high population servers - AWA 1/2, UK#10 etc still has hacking. Within 20 minutes on AWA 1 my friend had a heli attack him in the dark + middle of nowhere. When mocking their aim on side chat, he got teleported then killed. Too many tl;dr hacking moments on these...Thats ignoring the Barbed Wire/Sandbag/Tank Trap/Tent spam in every major city. Also I've found every high pop attracts the most immature players... - Second issue is also commonplace. Having great gear, camp, couple vehicles set up - but literally no player interaction for days as there's usually 0 other players other than one or two and the admins. - Same as above, but slightly more players 5-10 but with your standard admins who use every trick in the book aka spectating other players, using rcon to listen over direct chat (i've had admins abuse this when talking to randoms or complaining about the admin abuse and being banned before I knew what admins could see, next thing I know I get ''we can see this you prick, we pay for this server so leave we don't care'' attitude. Also restarting server for ''unknown'' reasons, actually banned for killing them etc. Spawning in helis at will, Weapons for friends/people who suck up to them. Also spawning in tons of vehicles and satchel charging them etc - I know they pay and it's ''their'' sandbox, but why advertise and reach out to legit players? Halp? I want to enjoy the mod for the rest of it's now short lifespan it has left, but no matter where I go I run into these issues.

Finding and repairing vehicles, looting NW airfield and such.

I think it would be cool to be able to lock a car door. Locking it would only be useful if all windows are fixed. To enter a car without being the player that locked, you would have to break a window causing an audible alarm. This would bring some depth to stealing vehicles, and the need of being extra fast. Of course there could be something like directly starting up the engine with a toolbox and so on, but I don't know if that's really necessary. But it could bring some fear to finding someone's car in a forest. Is anyone near? Will the owner know?

Hello there There are Arma mods that make the zone to enter vehicles/open doors etc far wider, so at the very least something like that could be implemented. I'm sure it's on their todo list :) Rgds LoK

well imagine this as easiest way for even anything. you could even use this idea and create some sort of mini-games, without the massive effort of creating a real minigame with new anims, models, textures etc. Of course it shouldn't be overdone, but i could imagine this as "mini-feedback-games" when it comes to repairing vehicles and diagnosis of illnesses and such to some degree. It would be a reasonable tradeoff between realism/authenticity and feasibility (;) i strategically place "subtle microskills" in here ;)) -

[Arc] server is looking for players! We've recently set up a Panthera server focused on PvP. We've modded the map to make use of a lot of the unused space in the center of that map and at key locations around the map to make an already PvP map even more so in term of defendable locations. Additional vehicle spawns to include vehicles that dont spawn on the original map, plus, as an added bonus, certain vehicles spawn in with specialty/rare-spawn weapons and gear to get you into the fight as soon as possible. Crash continuously take suggestions from the community on how to change the map to improve the experience. Currently running full moon nights, no fog and increased view distance. GMT-7. Players on my Server reporting : 40ft in the Air on Spawning. Vehicles not repairing. Parts just disappear. Items disappear if dropped inside buildings upstairs. Zombies keep appearing and then instantly disappearing right in front of players (seen this countless times myself). How about simply getting the script to check *before* the Zombie appears that the player is right there only 2m away! I know you guys are doing voluntary bug fixing on Dayz. But can we see these major bugs fixed, rather than adding extra features, tempting though it may seem to you? :)

- cow bells: can be used as signals for whatever, or are just for traditional costumes.. - old WWII medals from nazis as well as from commies (only stylized ones) - hobbyhorse: also useable as crutch or as melee weapon - oil lamps/lanterns: well we have communities with outhouses...so i guess they would have also needed something like that ;) (Amnesia anyone?) - mannequins: in shops, in warehouse maaybe.. could be used later when there would be electricity available at some point - fuses (both for vehicles as well as for normal building el. circuits) - light bulbs - el. cords ... -
Server: DayZChernarus 250+ Vehicles, Care Packages, Crash Sites, Active Admins! -(1.7.6.1/102591) [Recruit NP:Off][GMT-9] Private Hive - tpbdayzserver.com | DayZ.ST IP: 5.63.144.180:3374 Long story short, after I told one of the Admins I wouldn't give him a lift in my helicopter (Conner), I was mysteriously ejected from my Chopper. The context menu wasn't open, and there was no way I could have been ejected normally. After that happened I disputed his claim that he was an admin (the main splash screen states only two admins 'Liam and Friendly') He said "want proof?", after that my character did a handstand. A few moments later my leg was broken, and another minute after that I was killed with the words "HA HA HA HA HA" appearing on my screen. I have no doubt that it was this admin that hacked, as I'm pretty damn sure those are not Admin tools. The server is also rife with hackers, childish and abusive admins, and general idiocy. Avoid at all costs, fellow forumers!

Since many people are day dreaming and posting about base building but mostly do not provide concrete ideas how it really could work ingame I would like to show you a simple way of building bases in 3 easy steps... As joe mcentire suggested somewhere else before, we could use predefined places/structures (new areas placed by the devs for this pupose only) for building camps and bases. Places that are protected by static walls, fences or barricades anyway like prisons, small military camps factories or farms. Of course such structures would need an entrance.that can be closed somehow, I would suggest to use large vehicles or gates that can be pushed to block the entrance ( like the prison fence gates in The Walking Dead). This vehicles could be used for this purpose only of course.. Pushing these vehicles/gates should work only from inside the walls. This way opening or closing the gates of the camp would always require at least one player inside the base.and since blocking the entrance would take a while, other players could could take the chance to attack the gate and get in. Barbwire, sandbags, tank and bear traps could be used to fortify this places even more. Inside this bases players could build their tents, campfires and park their vehicles. Of course structures should provide a water supply but not any loot spawns. Since such bases would use only stuff that is used in the everywhere ingame this would not have any bad impact on the performance !!! Before a group of players could use such a structure as their base they would have to wipe out all the zeds there, which should be a very hard task of course. Only a well armed group should be able to do this. As soon as all zombies in this area are killed the base status turns to safe (simple script ). Zombies will stop spawning and the gate can be closed. From here on nothing fancy is required to run the base. The Players just have to make sure that there is at least always one player inside the camp to open and close the gate. This means also, at least one member of the group has to be able to respawn inside the camp. If no player activity is recognized by the game inside the base for a longer timeframe ( let's say for example 12 hours) zeds would start spawning again and the vehicle/gate blocking the entrance would revert back to its original position (base status not safe) simulating that the base was not guarded for a longer time and overun by zeds again. To make sure that no server hoppers spawn inside the camp a simple game mechanic or script could be added that only allows players to spawn inside the camp that have saved on the same server. 3 easy steps : 1. Create a new small area on the map (lets say a farm for example) including some buildings surrounded by walls and fences flodded by zeds. 2. Make sure this place has only one entrance and somekind of gate (or vehicle) that can be pushed (forwards and backwards) to close and open this entrance. 3. Create a simple script that does something like this : if number of zeds in predefined area > 0 set base status = 0 (not safe) if base status = 0 (not safe) set zed spawn points = activated & gate = deactivated (can not be pushed, reverts to its original position) if number of zeds in predefined area = 0 set base status = 1 (safe) if base status is 1 (safe) set zed spawn points = deactivated & gate = activated (gate can be pushed) if base status = 1 (safe) & number of players in predefined area > 0 set owner status = 1 (guarded) if base status = 1 (safe) & number of players in predefined area = 0 set owner status to 0 (not guarded) if base status = 1 (safe) & owner status = 0 (not guarded) set timer = 0 (game hours) if base status = 1 (safe) & owner status = 0 (not guarded) & timer = 12 (game hours) set base status = 0 (not safe) game checks if player has saved on the same server and inside a safe camp ...if not player is spawned at the coast ( to prevent server hopping) that's it...the basic idea at least.... PS: I never looked into arma scripts so I used something simple ( similar to the scripts used in TES or Fallout) to show what I mean....

Is This Something New For The Sniper Rifle, M107?

I think he was probably joking. But anyways rifles like the M107 are classified as anti-material rifles. Not sniper rifles. Anti-material rifles were designed to shoot vehicles and such, not people. They are, however, used to shoot people sometimes. I don't think the Military uses .50BMG rifles for their sniper teams very much. I mean the thing weighs over 30lbs. When you add that to all your gear plus the .50 ammo it's going to be a lot. I would rather have a 7.62NATO rifle such as the M40A5 USMC sniper rifle. I know this is all semantics and proper terms but, BMG actually stands for Browning Machine Gun. The round was originally developed for HMG's. Interesting fact, a US Military sniper named Carlos Hathcock used a Ma Duece (.50BMG HMG) with a scope on it to snipe a Military leader during the Vietnam War. -

oxygen tanks would not work like vehicles, they would work as backpacks. this prevents any clan from taking all the oxygen on the server. -

i am playing on a server now that is pretty friendly. i logged in after taking a beating the night before. i couldn't see straight and was trying to hunt on the coast, and it was not working. there were only 2 others on the server so i decide to ask them for some help and to my great surprise within about 5 minutes one of them jumps out of a car gives me a transfusion and goes on his way. i was able to get back to my bike i had fixed up and cruise the countryside for a while. eventually i end up seeing the same guys one driving behind the other an hour or so later. i said hin on siechat complimented their vehicles and went on my way. another hour goes by and im still being a hipster on my fixie when i see a chopper int he middle of a field, and two guys pointing guns at me. let them know its me again and reinforce that i am friendly. they offer me a ride which is awesome because i had never even been in a chopper before. during the trip they ask if i want a jeep. Umm, yes please? they took me up to Northeast airfield and one guy disappears into the woods for a about 15 minutes comes back with a jeep, that has a fair amount of supplies in it and says here you go. Easily the most awesome interaction i have had in this game. it was so nice it wore off on me and i was giving people free rides with the jeep later in the day and dint even get killed for my car! imagine that. caring, pass it on.
