  2. *No other mods* I've updated the map again, now we have additions like fire stations and or general stores in some other coastal towns to aid you getting equipped after a death. Many more vehicle spawn locations to keep things fresh,No more "That vehicle always spawns there" because we have tripled our spawn locations :) Over 100 Vehicles are constantly on server. North East Airfield has a major update and the map has many more deer stands and camo bunkers dotted around the map. Where a fire station / hospital / store in out in the open in a new placement you will find 2-3 deer stands off in the hills to be a good sniping location. Custom load outs are being introduced too. Still in the early stages of thinking them through but working off your humanity level we are issuing custom load outs at various levels. Custom load outs available at the moment include... (Humanity point reward levels may increase/decrease) Medic - Use of Medic Vehicles at the Green zone, M9SD and New skin.     Less military stuffs

    I think it should be more of an "event" to get in a helicopter. Right now there's not much sense of the size, power and complexity of the machine, you just hop in and fly it around like it's an arcade game. It takes off almost immediately, too. It's better in first-person, but not too much. These are some examples of what I think is missing... Ideally I'd like it to be a bit more complex... that is, if they include helicopters... and if they include military helicopters there's no logical reason they shouldn't include other military vehicles, which opens up a whole can of worms... Oops, going off-topic. High-powered guns are fine as long as they are plausible... I don't think the AS50s or M107s are plausible. If this was a war game with light armour, then maybe, but no one needs them for humans or zombies. However I do like the ability to snipe people at very long ranges, so if they decide to include a long-range rifle I hope it's either a .338 or a .300 WM or any similar caliber. One of the things many games do is introduce a plethora of random guns from around the world, usually picked for their "cool factor". They aren't even plausible choices or have an explanation for being found in the game world... Raging Judge in Black Ops 2? Or Desert Eagles in oh-so-many war games? Okay, these guns are cool, but they make no sense. That's fine, because those are casual games. In ArmA the weapons lists do try to make sense (well, not ArmA III, heh). You don't have random guns or vehicles added in for cool factor. If it's US vs Takistan, you have US weapons and vehicles and Takistani weapons and vehicles and precious little else. They don't put in a golden Desert Eagle or an AEK-971 for bling or awesomeness (maybe a golden revolver and AK, but Middle Eastern commanders have a penchant for gaudy shit like that). In my ideal DayZ the weapons list would reflect what you might find in a country similar to Chernarus. Lots of Russian guns, maybe more than a few Western guns too depending on the backstory, but no survivors toting .500 Smith & Wessons (nudge nudge LancerG2 ;) ), AA-12 automatic shotguns or very special .50 caliber anti-material rifles (I can't seem to find a picture or report of an AS50 being used in combat anywhere). I think a major problem many people have is that the lower-powered weaponry just isn't as fun to use. Fire a Makarov in DayZ and it goes "pop" and doesn't do any real damage. In real life you can feel the blast, the gun recoils in your hand, it's extremely loud, there's a bunch of sensations that are completely missing in the game, especially with the lame default gun sounds. They need to work on that. Maybe if they make the "lower tech" weapons feel badass, people wouldn't have as much desire for the "higher tech" guns.

    Less military stuffs

    Who's to say you couldn't learn? Albeit it's more difficult to learn as I understand it, but it is possible. Though I see where you are coming from, removing them completely does not really make sense. If this were the case we would probably see a removal of all military bases as well. For where there are military bases, there is military issue gear is there not? I do not like seeing multiple people's with AS50's but I also do not like the idea of "no rare high powered guns or items" it's just such a neat feature, increasing the rarity of these weapons (and possibily vehicles) is a more likely solution.

  7. First off I am posting on Behalf of the second clan we have under the Team Bloodtype name. They are in need of more, so read this and then ill leave a link at the bottom for you to get back to. We are in need of soldiers, to fight for our future. We are at war with forces to the west, and they oppose as a big threat to us. They have taken multiple of our territories, and we need to push them back, and take what they have, to help protect us against the zombie-hordes. We are a smaller force, but we rely on guerilla warfare and military tactics. With these methods, we will take their weapons, and drive them back, to get rid of them once and for all. We will have to do this step by step, and we need all able to help us do so. Alright, enough seriousness’es. You have a lot of DayZ experience? Great. If you don’t, don’t worry about it. We are very friendly and helpful to our members. And we expect you to be as well. We work as a group, and teamplay is key here. We will help you gather supplies and weapons (We propably have lots of weapons to give you as well), and we will protect you, or even avenge your death. We’re not the good guys, and what you want to do with your victims is up to you. We usually kill everything that moves. We do however like to think we ablige by a code of ethics here. We don’t kill unarmed men. Well, at least we’re not supposed to, but some times fingers slip. Oh well. So, if you’re tired of being the good guy, sign up right now. If you join us, you have the opportunity to fight by our side, as we try to take out the opposing forces. We will have different events, including things like capture/defend, stealing the enemy’s equipment and vehicles, attacking their base, taking out key points they hold, ambushing them etc. We will have our own base, which only the members of People’s Liberation Army can enter. Here you can safely store your/our gear and vehicles, without worrying if any other players will get it. And if that wasn’t enough, we also have our own cool, unique skin, to tell us apart from other players on the server.     veteran player looking for place to stay

    Hey, have you tried DayZ Origins? It's a really awesome DayZ mod (yes, mod for a mod). I've pretty much given up on DayZ until I stumbled upon Origins, now I'm playing a lot. I mean, really a lot. The map is Taviana, I think it's much better than Cherno, kinda better feel to it with the big abandoned cities. A humanity system with different skins and levels. Survivor made vehicles with an option to upgrade them. Mad Max, eh? An awesome island called Salvation City, that's where the best gear is. You need to have a heli or a boat to get there, but beware of aggressive NPCs. You can build your own house and a garage, too. How sweet is that? It's so awesome. Give it a go. Also, I've been playing for a couple of months and I have only encountered a hacker once, that's a big plus.

    Your "process"?

    I used to be afraid and care. Now I let the zombies kill me time and time again until I spawn in a place near Elektro/Cherno - fresh spawns has nothing to loose. I avoid firefights in PvP areas, unless neccesary. Once I got the basic survival gear, I am picked up by my friends in a vehicle and we head up north to loot parts for the car and gear. Possibly picking up other fresh spawned friends on the way. On the side: I wish there was no vehicles in DayZ at all...

    Base Building mod question???

    I can't help you with *this* mod, however, if I may help somewhere else? Go on google and look up how to unpack/edit .pbos, then change the mission file. Make the night start an hour earlier and end an hour later, then take out starter flashlights and make everyone start with 10 flare. Make flares an extremely common spawn. And take out your overabundance of vehicles; nothing makes the game less fun like driving.

    Never played DayZ before and needing advice.

    Some basics you'll want to gather ... - Food and drink (very obvious) - Matches, hatchet, hunting knife (harvesting and cooking meat) - Morphine, antibiotics, an extra bandage (to deal with broken bones and infection/a cold) - A heatpack A few tips ... - You really do not have to enter a town or city for any of the above - Treestands and remotely located sheds and barns will have everything you need - You do not have to go to the NW airfield to get military gear - Helicopter crash sites are a better bet, as are military vehicles (some spawn with weapons inside) - You don't have to respond to other players in chat who either call you out, or seem to know your name somehow ... - Just because someone is shooting at you does not mean you will die. Run, duck, zigzag, find cover, return fire, let them come to you - Proceed at all times as if there are hostile players in your area. - Not everyone is out to shoot you on sight; pretend however that they are, and try to watch them for a bit before interacting with them - Watch chat ... you'll usually learn the good from the bad from the awful rather quickly - Clan tags are usually trouble - If someone says hacker in chat, you might want to log out - You're going to have a great time!
  14. Hello, Recently, I was playing on your server with the nickname "Oberschutze". I played for a while and found a chopper completely repaired and refueled in one of those bases you have in your server. There were a couple of vehicles nad one dead body laying around plus one US ammunitions crate with some G36s. Then, I joined a group composed of GEYBENNY; BEHOLDENYETI; GHYUT1 picking them up. Just after we got to a place GEYBENNY wanted to go, we started being hit by someone with a DMR (judging from the sound) and afterwards I got banned. The reason was "Hacking". I want to inquiry in what way was I hacking from the Admins viewpoint as the ban is pure nonsense.
  15. Added: Animated heli crash sites... See the video below ;) Removed: Most of the new buildings and structures around Cherno and Elektro, including most of the custom towns.. This was due to bugs in the positioning of the objects and lag related issues. We have also turned off the 300+ barrel fires, which has also reduced the lag, but feel free to turn them back on as you pass through. Also removed hundreds of other objects that weren't needed or simply just made the area glitchy! Added: We've added the Excelsior Bridge, as the old one was poorly designed and kept breaking vehicles. You still can't get onto the admin island, but you can drive half way over and in future updates we'll have day passes for the island too, so stay tuned for that. Re-Enabled (due to popular request): Safe Bases are now back on. But are subject to whether I'm available or not , and there is limited availability due to system resources. White Listing is now done through this thread or PM and NOT by teamspeak.
  16. Reasons why DayZ is garbage: This is my opinion and if you don't like it which I'm sure you won't i couldn't care less 1. It's just a deathmatch You get murdered quite a lot in cold blood. At first it was pretty neat how it made me always feel like i was on the edge and made me not trust anyone, however as the time went by the random killing got worse. people started playing just to kill. People started camping the best loot spots just for useless kills, people went on raiding sprees, killing everything in their path.. And of course the sane people that played Arma before the mod became awful, and it became harder and harder to trust people thus leading to more people becoming bandits, like a domino effect. If you think about it, in a real zombie outbreak this would never happen, I'll talk about that more later. I know some people will just tell me "Oh you just suck at PvP noob lelelelelleel" or something stupid like that proving you're a brainless kid. It's just frustrating that I can't live for 5 minutes before being shot in the head by a sniper 800m away, and let's not start talking about how easy sniper rifles are to use.. It's redicilously easy. 2. The community is bad. First of all, most people that play DayZ didn't even have ArmA 2 before the DayZ mod even came out. That says something. Second of all, a lot of the players are pretty much whiny kids. Don't think so? Just look at the "Suggestions" board. The community isn't really rockets fault, I for once blame the idiot youtubers that invited all the 12 year olds to the mod. *Cough* frankie, jackfrags, pewdiepie, and pretty much all the unfunny youtubers out there *Cough* 3. This game is NOTHING like a zombie apocalypse! Pretty much everyone's first impressions with the mod was "Wow a real zombie outbreak! Cool!" Really there's nothing realistic (zombies) about DayZ at all. First of all, where is the military!? There's military bases everywhere! What happened? Don't tell me some zombies beat an entire armed army that has all sorts of vehicles, not including your drunken uncle that keeps 40 guns in his closet. Second of all, pretty much how you start and the objective is retarded. Apparently you're shipwrecked or something and your only goal is to survive? How come there's no way to reclaim towns? Make blockades? Make a safeheaven? If you're trying to simulate a real zombie outbreak at least try to be realistic. Just surviving should not be a goal. Third of all, people would not start randomly killing each other like I said earlier. Think about previous times in human history where civilization looked like it was falling: ex. 9/11, San francisco 1905, the spanish flu epidemic, etc. Countrary to popular belief, when those things happened, we didn't become insane murderers, we helped each other out. If you still don't see my point, I want you to do this: The next time you go outside around a bunch of people, just find someone and look at them.. If they're carrying something, imagine that is something you need very desperately at that moment. Would you honestly murder that person in order to get it? If yes, you are an insane individual that should never touch video games again.
