This is an extremely good server. It is 24/7 daylight with custom loot and extra vehicles. It has extremely fair, helpful and active admins. It has a good balance of heroes and bandits who have epic battles all over the map, not just at the cities. The bandits are very good, they are relentless and very skilful in tracking and combat. The heroes are the same and are very helpful to new players and players who have been murdered (helping them get started or get their stuff back). It's just a really good server. Not sure if these have been mentioned before, but here are suggestions in regard to vehicles. 1) Car Keys. This could be a way to keep your vehicle moderately safe as the vehicle would require the keys to steal it, or a rare hotwire kit. 2) Car Alarm . If a car is being hotwired or griefed, the alarm will go off alerting any nearby zombies, putting the thief in danger. 3) Dead battery and jumper cables. After a car has been sitting dormant for a while, the battery will die. Jumper cables and another vehicle would be required, or a fresh battery 4) Headlight repair,ignition, etc. These would be items that are crucial to a vehicle and the vehicles operation would depend on these systems functioning.

He blew up half of the airfield, and don't forget about all the vehicles he teleported. If you want to play without scripters , all you need is a good server, I play on UK 172 for 2 weeks haven't seen one hacker even when there are 40 people on the server, and one day someone tried to nuke the server, but failed becasue it have good anti hack protection.

Join my NEW Rmod2 dayz server! it has many vehicles like tanks,planes,jets and helicopters, and also many custom buildings! Rmod2 has custom weapons and skins avaliable too, and many more vehicle unlocks! Currently im unable to get it to appear in dayz commander, so searching for something like Turkwars or Turk will come up in the multiplayer lobby of OA. You MUST have Rmod2 installed or you will be denied connection. And i highly recommend you have your arma build version at 10228 as some people had problems trying to connect with the most up to date version installed. Hope to see you there! A video of my server! M107 Barrett .50 cal getting banned everywhere..

Just curious We managed to get this to work (thx for the help from tunngle) without having our pubbers downloading any files. As for weapons, there's some were able to add, and some we cannot, here's what we changed. AS50 [replaced with] Mk12 SPR M107 [replaced with] M8 Sharpshooter SVD [replaced with] Sa58v RCO DMR [replaced with] AK 107 PSO Mk48 Mod 0 [replaced with] MG36 M240 [replaced with] RPK 74 FN FAL NVG [replaced with] AKS 74 PSO AKS 74U [replaced with] L85A2 Halo M9 [replaced with] Sa61 Scorpian These ones we replaced fully work in game and spawn @ Barracks and Crash Chopper. We are wondering why some guns work, but some weapons we added don't show up, example why does the L85 Halo work but something like the L85 LSW or RGO or whatever does not, or any other M8 CQC gun or variant. PDW SD didn't work either yet I remember killing a hacker long time ago in DayZ and taking it, and being able to use it for a long while. This applies to the Makarov SD. Any ideas on how we can get these other weapons added? Also applies to some vehicles. -

Hey all! Come join us on an amazing private hive. I'm looking to help out new survivors and even teach people the ropes of dayz a bit. The server I play on is run by DIS gaming and it's really great. Whitelisting may or may not be active depending on the time you try to get on but I can assure you just email the admin and he'll have you set up in minutes. I've been playing with these people for a couple months. There is PVP if you like that. There are bandits to keep things exciting. There are a lot of choppers and tons of vehicles. Be prepared to scavenge because most vehicles need a little work. Also, the map has been customized a bit so there are a few extra buildings. I won't tell you where as half the fun is rediscovering Chernarus all over again. All I can say is, there was a lot of thought put into the custom buildings and its not overkill. In fact, they've added a lot of rewarding locations specifically with foot travel in mind, so I would say the site is definitely new player friendly. I've been trying to play a medic / trainer of sorts and it's been a blast. Right now, I think we need more lone wolf style players but whatever works. Bring your friends. Also, check out the server site at disgamingdayz.enjin.com We just had our first community night that included a Hatchet Death Match Tourney at Pobeda Damn and a Triatholon. The admins set up a beautiful and intense race starting at NE airfield on motorcycles, hopping in trucks at Berezino, PBX at Krustoy Cap, and topping it off with a foot race to the peak of Skalisty Island. I came in third!! Anyway, the information for the server is below. I hope to see you all there!! The admins are very active so don't hesitate to ask for help or advice. RIP GB Wireworld Vanilla DayZ Server - It was a lot of fun!

So I've set up a Localhost DayZ server, with the intention of developing a few tools designed to improve the 'Wireworld experience'. These would be for Mac & admins to utilise rather than exploitation... you'll be happy to hear. I've already started putting together a few ideas but I thought I'd put it out there as to what the community are after from this server. If anyone has any thoughts, hopefully if they're possible & popular and Mac likes them they can be implemented. I've already begun work on a few ideas I had: - Custom skins (working) Purpose: Variety - I can't be the only one tired of being either civ/bandit/ghillie/camo or one of those target practice heros. Only issue is that as a consequence, the humanity system and clothing (Civ/Hero/Bandit) is rendered useless. I've written a quick Rnd function to spawn new players in a 'randomly' selected skin following death. I personally like it but not sure whether Mac & admins are willing to remove this more functional part of the game for aesthetics.. - Custom load screen (designed but not yet implemented/tested) Purpose: Helpful to provide community updates and obviously to look fancy. - Teleportation tool & pathing/location map (work in progress) Purpose:To be used for event nights and to provide additional insight into player trends. Almost complete (having to make my own map as there isn't one online that doesn't cut off the north of the map!). Not sure what load this would put on the server, I'd imagine it'd equate to having an additional player on at all times. Working on showing 'offline' players also, could be a clutter depending on the amount though, may put a last log in date parameter in this to limit clutter. - Item/Vehicle spawner (working) Purpose: To be use for event nights Putting together a DB of items now which is a pain in the balls. - Also looking into seeing what guns/vehicles I can unlock too. ~Chris -

Yes it is my opinion that if the community didn't voice their concerns that yes, this was a slippery slope we were headed down where the next update would remove all vehicles and instead have us all riding on Unicorns(joking). I haven't been logged into dayzmod since August but felt the need to drop my two cents in because I didn't approve. Should people bend over backwards for me? Nope, but all I did was drop in to voice my concerns and hey, tons of others have too and it worked. Bravo consumers, we got what we wanted. No stupid herpy dooves canned muffins crap. Thanks Rocket, can't wait until the standalone and hope you blood pressure is doing better lol.

Your argument should be based around what is more fun, not what's more real, because ultimately that's what matters, and frankly there's a lot of people who find the game more enjoyable if they have the option of both first person and third person available in vehicles, depending on what situation they're trying to take-in and navigate. If it's that big of deal to you, the proper solution would be to request that the devs put a vehicle-first-person-only switch as an option for server operators, and then everyone who thinks first person is better but can't trust themself not to sometimes use third person, plus everyone who can't stand the thought that someone in a different vehicle is playing the game differently can all go play on servers with the restriction switch enabled.

Tents/Vehicles not saving - Re-added Manual save option to next patch (peace of mind), We are unable to recreate using official hive Vehicles Repair Issues. - Fixed Hero Skin tp issue - Fixed Quivers aren't adding arrows properly. (Reports of quivers/arrows dropping to floor) - Fixed Lower trash food hp gains. - Fixed Mi-17 seat issue. - Unable to recreate Logout Timeout issue - Unable to recreate (Added 20 seconds onto the timeout timer, until we can get more info on whats happening for some servers) Login issue - Spawn into seagull before Failed disconnect child 103 - Unable to recreate Not a bug Script Restrictions are not issues with DayZ Server admins must update filters. https://code.google....browse/filters/ Before posting a bug report plz make sure to give as much info as you can this should include the details of the server you was on. I think I'll just quote the relevant passage from this recent interview with Rocket: "Are you baking more social dynamics and mechanics into the game, or are you happy to leave those interactions up to the players? [...] We’re looking at ideas, and we haven’t actually implemented these yet, but we’re looking at how we could have it so that some skills, maybe, are socially learned or enhanced. Maybe very advanced skills, like being a doctor, the ability to do very specific things like suturing, might be earned those ways. We’re looking at how we could have it so that some skills, maybe, are socially learned or enhanced…like being a doctor We’re still undecided about that, because we really want to have the game avoid things like specific skill trees and stuff like that. But having it socially developed as a skill, or something you get better at through repeated use, and more of those options for social interaction like suturing, setting fractures, these kinds of things are social options. The best example we have at the moment are blood transfusions, which seem to be well-received as a reason to socially interact. Absolutely, but I don’t want to get people’s hopes up about a skill system or skill tree, so we’re more looking at how players develop the abilities to do certain things, and how players develop the ability to get better at doing things. To provide a tangible example of something we know we want the player to do – we don’t want the player to start the game and choose how their character is going to be. That will actually come out as they play the game. An example would be wanting your character to wear a cowboy hat, camouflage jacket and black pants. You’re going to have to find those items in the world. Your humanity, and these kinds of things, will affect how you look. The way you play the game will affect your player. As we explore what the player can do, that is something we’re interested in, but it’s going to require a lot of experimentation. We don’t want the player to start the game and choose how their character is going to be A couple of examples we thought of were very advanced skills, such as advanced repair of aircraft and vehicles. That’s not a skill that everybody has. And various doctor-related skills. They aren’t things that everybody just has; they’re things that maybe people can learn, but they’ll require practice and maybe some social interaction." -

We're an open social community for fair and mature gamers with our own Survival Taviana server that's well suited to newbies who are starting out with lots of emphasis being on PvE (survival) . We have our own Teamspeak server too (easier than Skype). We're UK based and all our members speak English. We've been playing and supporting Day Z since launch and have our own internal clan (split into two factions, BSB Ravens and BSB Scorpions) as well as hosting several smaller groups and clans within our community. Our Taviana server is Whitelisted and protected against hackers and has loads of vehicles (300+) , loads of new buildings and interesting cities and most points of interest are less than 1K between each other. Our server is very much suited to new players and our members are friendly and helpful and are more than willing to have you tag along, as well as giving you tips and help along the way. I keep seeing posts about instancing bases, or making it so that when you are offline no one can steal your vehicle or crap from your base. Why? Getting your crap jacked is part of the game. I also don't understand how adding the ability to dig out an underground base seems like a good idea. Experience leads me to believe it would result in a landscape filled with random, ugly holes for people to fall in. I'm just wondering why, if they are planning on adding a crafting system, it wouldn't work to be able to build a fortified base. They could add craftable barriers which are to high to hop over and would do significant damage to vehicles that hit them/can't be knocked down. Maybe would-be raiders would need a satchel charge to get through, though this could and should damage whatever is on the other side, potentially destroying valuable loot. Add lockable gates with a combination lock that the players would need to keep secret to all but their clan. I've read posts suggesting tow ropes or winches for vehicles, maybe these could be used to pull gates down. I can think of a pretty long list of structures and upgrades which could be added, granted some of them are probably less viable or advisable than others, but still. Storage buildings/boxes, booby traps, radio towers, power plants/generators, covered parking, crafting benches to allow for bigger crafting projects than what one could do in the wilderness (a dedicated "kitchen" for example, where you could cook and can food; assuming foods get a shelf life, of course.), just to name a few. To prevent peeps from just planting walls at really dickish locations, a part of base building could be that structures can only be placed within x number of meters of, I dunno, a clan flag, a work bench, a shack. Take your pick. Just have it so that the first thing you do when building a base is to set some form of primary structure that marks its limits. And before anyone asks what would prevent some douche from planting a base in the middle of Cherno, there is already a system in game for locating what region your toon is in. When you spawn in it tells you where you are. So bases would need to only be allowed in the Wilderness region(s). The only problem I can see that I can't get around is how would you stop a group of players from each dropping their own markers at max distance from each other and making a massive base. I suppose setting a minimum distance limit between markers would work, but if you pop a marker and it wont let you claim the area because another camp is nearby, half the work in camp hunting is already done for you. I definitely think camp building should be more than just popping down a few tents and maybe some razor wire if your really serious. At the same time, though, I really hate the idea of instanced bases and Care Bear rules about not stealing someone's stuff. I think adding fortified bases is the best alternative, as it combines both improved security for hard won loot, and the ability for players to build and change the landscape, making their mark on the world. That and raiding/defending one would be pretty epic. Thoughts?

the way I see it.... There should be some sort of script or game mechanic that makes it impossible to loot your own dead body This should also include gear in tents and vehicles. Inventories of killed players should be cleared after some time ( same goes for tents and vehicles) .Tents should be limited to only one per player. Starter gear could be random, for example a watch, a box of matches, a bandage, painkillers, a flashlight, a piece of chocolate but no backpack and defenetely no weapon !! Player spawnpoints should be all along the coast from Balota up to Berezino ( I would prefer all over the map though)....no buddy spawns !!! PS: I would even ban skype and teamspeak...since this is of course not realistic I am hoping for some more immersion orientated servers...

The only time the map has been used was when we opened to add vehicles and when we got warnings regarding some fag for teleporting around the map. It can be abused, yeah, but that just ruins the game.

This is important for people to remember. ^^^^^^^^ It's also important to remember that we repair vehicles in this game - we have a toolbox. I can take my AR15's down to bare components relatively easily using only a few hand tools. It's FAR less complicated than say, aircraft maintenance. I've never tried to fix an engine in a helicopter, but I imagine it's a bit more difficult than changing a tire or mounting a scope. As long as attachments make sense, I'm not going to be upset. IRL I have an optic, a vertical foregrip, and a light on one of my AR15's. They aren't there to look sweet (even though they do), they're on there to increase functionality of the weapon. As long as any attachments are 1.) Realistic, and 2,) Useful, I'm all for it. In my opinion, the more the better. Chokes for shotguns. Scopes for rifles. Suppressors for rifles/pistols. Bipods for rifles. Lights for carbines/pistols that have appropriate mounting hardware (frame rails, threaded barrels). Even threaded pistol barrels are easy to install, you can do it without tools in many cases. These all make sense, and have a legitimate use not only in real life, but in game. However if I find a hearbeat sensor for an M107, I'm going to blow a gasket. :huh:
