Hey guys so we've decided to go with a new server provider as the old one was terrible, we are swapping from UK 593 TO FR 407 the server ip is 94.23.200.92;2332 theres plenty of vehicles still there so get them while you can! server restarts every 8 hours, 7am, 3pm and 11pm everyday, active admins and active log checks! feel free to come and join us weather your banidts, heroes! or even survivors! we welcome all :D apart from hackers and script kids, the server is -6 GMT so it has a really nice day/night cycle, cross hairs, death messages and third person are ON, (tracer bullets and nameplates are OFF) clans are also welcome infact we encourage it! My clan would quite like another clan to fight against ! :)

    Lockable garages

    Would love to see this implemented, a number of car garages scattered through-out the map so you can safely store your car without it being in risk of being stolen or shot up in the woods. Garages could be in single spots dotted around thr map, or perhaps long multi rows. Multi row garages pros an cons • bandits would have to search alot more potential empty garages to find a vehicle • bandits could see you store a vehicle and instantly take it after your gone • these places would be highly populated by zombies, being a hazard for player and bandit alike • would be a possible hotspot for new spawns • long distance garage grids would be easy to spot or be spotted by other players but have a very limited cover Single rural garages pros and cons • easy to not be spotted storing vehicles • low or zero zombie threat • low chance of being raided • an easy target for bandits How they could work? • all garages appear closed • all garages have the option to open/close and break lock • garages can be forced open with a crowbar or other implemented items, which takes time as well as noise • once a player opens there new garage and drives in. a key with the garage location is added to your inventory • the key and car are reset after 24 hours upon owner death • key information is based on garage type e.g a multi car lot key would have information like "cherno east lot - door 157" a rural garage would have less information, maybe the town location Any suggestions

    I like no vehicles, because i like to explore all the map on foot, and i will be surely running all the cherno+ map, the only thing that i didnt like so far is the ui they have, seems like "easy" or something like that Da hundred postz

    Well, there is a lot more to DayZ than weapons, new sytems and features hopefully will take away the KOS mentality, having no advanced weapons in the game is a good idea. Crafting items in game can (Potentially) allow players to make their own weapons and features, which is what I would like to see (Picture Metro styled weapons being made via players) Give the players a way and means to create their own "advanced weapons" to a degree without just having them lying around the floor of some crash site and barracks. Remember a lot of items will be broken when found and may need repair anyway. without the means to repair them an AS50 will just be a heavy stick. Same goes with vehicles, judging from the Blogs, most of the cars are too ruined to be salvaged for any parts, tools are needed for repair and fitting.

    If helis were just impossible to get then I'd not have a problem with helis, but since people seem to like 500 vehicles and 12 helicopters, it wouldn't matter.

I Love Dayz, but in my opinion there are two major things which really bug me about the game, 1 obviously being hackers, AND 2, the amount of admin abuse which goes on ! some examples i personally have encountered are things like, being banned for finding the admins camp, or admins teleporting back to their bodies after being killed, me and my pals have had enough so we decided to all chip together and host our own server thanks to DAYZ.ST, where we GAURENTEE no admin abuse, here are a few key points about this new private hive GMT-5 200 VEHICLES 6 CHOPPERS ADDED BUILDINGS BASES SECRET HIDEOUTS AROUND THE MAP ROLLBACK FEATURE ( incase we get hackers) ACTIVE ADMINS VETERAN SERVER EVENTS! SERVER DETAILS KEYWORD - DHPH IP - 5.63.147.44 PORT - 2532 So please join today and join our growing community within the server, anybody is welcome! Thank you
  7. A lot of this depends on how you are going about adding the AI units into the game. If you are doing it via the mission.pbo, you should have somewhere where you have something that looks like the following: "BAF_Soldier_DDPM" createUnit [_unitpos, _aiGroup, "_aiunit=this;",0.6,"Private"]; If you are trying to add the units through the Arma map editor, I'm not completely sure that you can do that. instead look at creating a sqf script in your mission pbo to create and control the AI units. Also, try spawning in the su34 through your database. I was able to spawn in (and fly, quite the joy btw) a Su34 while no one was on my server, so it doesn't seem to be banned (at least on my version). Vehicles and skins are banned in the dayz_anim.pbo.... while you can edit this, if you do so you will need to distribute it to anyone that plays on your server. Unless you whitelist on your server, I wouldn't particularly recommend this (players with your dayz_anim can't play on other servers, players without your dayz_anim cannot play on yours). Is best to stay within the confines of the original dayz_anim, or install Rmod. You should be able to attach any AI unit to any vehicle, will require some work, the skin is irrelevant. I just said use BAF_Soldier_DDPM because I know that skin works (US_Soldier_EP1 also works BTW).

    I haven't had many vehicles.. The uber clanz hoard them in the northern woods and I just don't think it's fun to go run in endless woods to get a car. I'd rather walk. This will also make the start of the game more adventurous, since you need to hike to your destination and explore things a long the way.

    I got Minecraft (which was a shell of a game with not many features) at the very start and was playing it for years with constant updates and new stuff added every month, sometimes more. That game kept me entertained for years, I and many others felt part of the development. If i had bought a "finished" minecraft game years ago when it started do you think i would have played it for as long as i have? Do you think i would have felt part of the minecraft community? Would i have had as much fun if the game was finished from the start? No is answer btw :P Am looking forward to being part of Dayz standalone for the next year (or so), Is all part of the fun imo :) So if dean wanted to release Dayz with just me running around chernarus with no zombies, no loot, no vehicles, no guns. Just me and chern, Id still buy it and look forward to them updates of new stuff added every week/month :) Good times are a coming :P (ps - Arma 3 is doing the same also and im in on that fun too) :D Oh and Kerbal space programme, and prison architect, and project zomboid. Fuck finished games :D

    Wouldn't bother me if vehicles where never implemented. Part of the fun for me IS the running and traversing of the map, seeing everything, exploring and having to have my wits about me at every turn incase there is someone standing in wait for me to put a bullet in my head and steal my beans. As predominately a loan wolf, vehicles are far to much of a hassle anyway, to fix, maintain and then keep safe is not something in my loan wolf remit so my personal end game will be something else. The only thing I hope for is the ability to create an auto run macro to save RSI in my hand /wrist while playing, because for some reason I haven't been able to make one that works in Arma 3 yet which is quite annoying. And anyway, the reasons given for them not being implemented from the start should surely be something every fan of the game can get on board with no? Don't you want the game to be everything it can be?

I have recently set up my own server, I have had a few good people join it and play on it regularly, we are ranked in the 38th percentile in Gametracker, which is pretty good considering the server is only a few days old. Server IP: The server has max Vehicles. Custom Starting Gear : couple of pieces of meat, few drinks, painkillers bandages and a side-arm. Over 20 Heli's spread across the map in locations which suit them ( Not in the middle of towns as i have seen) A awesome starting community, We have been a small clan for some time but really want to branch out and meet new people!     When I find vehicles/helos gassed up and in working condition, it almost always ends up with the thing crashed and me bleeding... or worse. No big deal to me about running in DayZ :) I was interested in Rocket talking about the weapons in the game. Love the fact it seems like they want to focus more on melee, handguns, regular rifles, and some assault weaps, and less on high tech military pew pew death cannon howitzers. We will see if that holds up but its encouraging.

    Forget PAX East. It hasn't been a secret vehicles wouldn't be in first release... I Think... even the last or 2nd to last devblog had a bit in it about it. Also... get your facts straight. DayZ RUNNING simulator. I believe it was dubbed Running Simulator 2012 for a while... From someone who has ran on foot countless times it won't bother me. MOST IMPORTANT PART EXPLORING CHERNARUS+ and you can't technically do that with a car going from house to house.

    I think no vehicles is a good idea for the beginning. I am tired of those +1000 vehicle servers, besides I never get vehicles anyways, to much hassle.

    It has always been said that the initial release was going to be an unfinished(Alpha) but playable game. They want us to play it and give feedback on what we like, what we don't like and what we want to see. They have also adhered to the addition of content over time when it's prudent to do so. The way the SA is looking, I'll happily pay the few $$ to play the "Alpha" release without vehicles knowing down the track; when vehicles do come; they'll be a kick ass addition not something just shoved in just because. If the release is in June and as mentioned Aug-Sept for vehicles, we'll have enough to keep us busy for the month or so until that happens. I don't understand the "I want it now" mindset, we all want a good game and the only way we're going to get that is to be patient and give our feedback when the Alpha is released. When it comes down to it, it is us the players that will make this game what it should be.

    No problem only started having vehicles on a consistent bases toward the last few weeks of playing the mod, i can handle walking from one end of the map to the other and back again no problem just like the the hundreds of other hours i did it.

    I wanna have vehicles off the bat. It's something you've got to work for and maintain, which is a true end-game, unlike most games (WoW), where you get your end-game gear and you're done. You've got to be active and vigilant to keep what you have, and keep it in good shape. So I do want vehicles off the start...

    Watch the entire thing. It's not about 'releasing a completed game' at all. They're releasing a FOUNDATION RELEASE. Which is what the rest will be built upon. That's been said for MONTHS. They're still waiting for the server-client architecture to be done. Which is why they can't release the game. Which is well acceptable to me. If they were keeping us from getting the game, and pushing the release date back because vehicles weren't in there? Or something just as ephemeral? I'd be more than a little annoyed.

    That's disapointing. I thought they were going for a "when it's done" standpoint, not a "they want it now, its here now" attitude. I'd rather have a finished game, vehicles and all, rather than something missing one of the things that set DayZ apart from other zombie games.
  24. So, according to this, vehicles won't be available for the first while in the standalone. Bwahahaha. Oh good god. This is going to be hilarious. The levels of butthurt from people who constantly play on '500+ vehicle' servers suddenly getting dumped into a Chernarus where they actually have to run places? No helicopters. No cars. No bicycles. No moving storage spaces... Just you, the zombies, the fresh outdoors air and tents. As someone who runs everywhere already, I have no problem with this. But the inevitable deluge of complaints will be hilarious.
  25. Yeah, I noticed a lot of people dont join because of that, and not a lot of pvp goes on if we don't allow it, so I will tell you what. We will now allow base raiding/attacking. There are so many vehicles on our server, so it wont matter if vehicles are stolen, and chopper crashes spawn ever 5 - 25 minutes on our server, so weapons are easy to come by. As of now base raiding/attacking IS ALLOWED! That's a different group than us. We are the =82nd= Airborne, they are the 82nd i44. Although. we still have apache's, A-10's, Vipers, and a lot of other cool vehicles, and we still have a lot of fun here as well. For us, it is all about the sport of the game.
