pick up a type of explosive and have a remote detonator. attach it to vehicles. lay it in a doorway. it of course be a rare find. or maybe have to collect supplies to make your own bomb. make different types of explosive's. i haven't played arma2 that much but i'm sure there are satchel charges and c4. i've picked up C4 in the current mod but was really unsure on how to use it.

Hey man, I'm sort of new too, but let me try my best. Day-Z vanilla is the original Day-Z mod. There are private servers, and official servers. If you join a private server, your progress will be saved onto that server only. With official Day-Z servers, your progress is saved throughout each one and you can continue where you had last left off in any official server. In the vanilla, you are in Chernarus, a massive 225km2 map. The shoreline is filled with large cities where most of the general loot is found, as well as the bandits and zombies. Bandits are other players who play to kill everything that they feel like with the intent to steal your equipment. Heroes are players who have gone out of their way to do nice things in the game, like give out equipment or come save you in your time of need. These heroes have proven their worth by administering blood bags to other players (which gives the person more blood than if they were to deliver it themselves), bandaging their wounds and so forth. I think, but am not sure, that if you kill enough people a rag, bandana, or face mask will appear on your character. The same goes for heroes, if they do enough good things their clothing upgrades. Day-Z origins is a mod OF the day-Z mod. The map is smaller, and I think it's a bit harder than the original. Vehicles you find will most likely need to be repaired before being able to use. Houses can be built to store your items, along with garages to store your vehicles. This requires quite amount of work and supplies to do, including the blueprints. I think this mod is best played with friends, as it can be hard to loot popular areas in such a small map. Personally I don't think either is better, but I do play the vanilla more.

I'd play on quite a few servers first, also see where they are hosted, which are fastest for you for where you live. Then start to think about what version of dayz you want - what map? Do you want rMod? (extra vehicles & weapons), any other mods (helicopter lift & tow, auto-refuel, etc). Once you have these decided upon, you can start to look around for a host. You can go with places that set-up the server for you pretty much (vanilla one, at least), - (Dayz.st are great for that) Or rent a dedicated or Virtual dedicated server, and install yourself - (nfo servers are great for that) That's my thoughts anyway :) Feel free to try our server to see what one self-installed, hosted with NFO, located in NYC is like.

Private vs. Main hive - Your opinion (And hi Inception)

Private all the way. The problem I have with public is that it is the Chernarus map. That map bores me to to the point of me wanting to fall asleep on my keyboard. If there were public hives that ran Lingor or Panthera, I would go public. But Chernarus is so plain as to make me not even want to attempt to join a public. The other maps promote interaction, whether good or bad, due to the make up of the landscape. I want that excitement that comes from encountering another individual/group. Vehicles for land/air are just there. I don't care if I get one or not, even though it can be fun to fly. -

Well, I have a problem that goes like this: When I'm playing ArmA2 DayZ Mod with my friend sometimes my friend and I think some vehicle n see this vehicle (Not all vehicles are only 2, 1 helicopter and 1 HMMWV), wanted know why? If you guys know please help me out. Thank you!

Hello fellow Dayz players. I have being playing on multiple servers to find the best one for me. i found a chernarus server with 250+ Vehicles which is brilliant if you enjoy cruising around. There is also a good chance of coming across a helicopter to for those pilot junkies. The best thing about this server is the players and the general community of the server. There are plenty of people willing to help out a fresh spawn, but beware not all players are friendly! The staff are great and will always ensure that the server runs well and that everybody is happy, They are approachable and are online most of the time. This server also has added buildings you have to look a little harder to find some of the but can be rewarding when you find them. This is just a small feature which makes the server that little bit better than the rest. The server during the week is eternal daytime for players who dont like the dark, but on weekends the server turns to day/night to get a good mix of players on the server. i mainly play on during the week when its day cause im not a night person lol. i really recommend this server for players and i give it a 8 out of 10 as a rating. We have very active and helpful admins, and have had some pretty awesome weekend events (Demolition Derby, Figure Eight Death race, etc). It depends on how many people you're going to have on it. Are you going to add more barracks guns vehicles. All that stuff matters. I'm afraid you just have to test yourself man, (or look at some dedi servers) -

Hello all, My name is DeZtRoYaH and I am the founder and leader of "Vendetta Gaming Clan" on PC*. We have been around about 6-7 months now, and have previously hosted multiple DayZ servers. We have recently been granted permission to use DZC+'s "Cherno+" map, and will soon be installing that to one of our 2 dedicated servers.... However, I am here today to give you the information for [vGc]'s Origins server (brought to you by [vGc] Wantless and [vGc] DaddyKropp), where we are currently spending most of our time playing and progressing through to figure out what would be the best course of action in it, when the files become readily available to admins. We have big plans for the Origins server with means of vehicles and weaponry (if Origins don't do it before us). And hope to figure out and implement new things as time progresses. Anyway ,more to the point we would like to give you the IP for our server, and would very much like to see many of you come along and join our server. We have plenty of active admins on everyday and we have more than enough help incase you need anything from us. We are extremely friendly (except on Monday mornings lol), and follow rules to ensure good friendship with players. We play legitimately in all of our servers, and have strict rules enforced in the clan to ensure that all people with admin priveledges also play fairly. It may be just me but: Thinking of the idea of being able to anchor it in the middle of the sea, basically as a base, would be extremely cool. You could put other boats next to it, vehicles and storage on it. There are enough spots where vehicles could board/disembark (The piers @ balota etc, but probably also just the beach). Since they will be adding more different kinds of housing/storage (Underground bases), why not make it possible to do such a thing on the sea?

Hopefully this will help a lot as it takes away the scripting. At the moment you just have to have very vigilant admins, on our server I regularly check the gear of players just to see what's what especially after they have logged in. There are usually clues, I also manually go around to peoples bases to see what's around, multiples of vehicles or weapons or ammo is usually a give away. We went to the camp of a group on our server that had seemed to have got geared up very quickly despite being on the server for just two days (not for the whole time like a few hours play a day). They had two choppers on the go and were stocking up tents. When we got to the camp we looked in the tents and vehicles and they had like 10 cayote backpakcs, 50+ mags of Stanag SD, like 4 M107s. This was all additional to the kit they had on them which was similar. No way 4 guys in two days have found 6 M107s and 14 Cayote backpacks. We couldn't conclusively prove the hacking so we just hounded them off the server under new names, killing them wherever they set up camp and destroying all their stuff. It's not like DayZ is the only game though, even massive games like Bf3 have plenty of hackers. The obvious ones get caught easily but the more subtle ones get away with it. Headshot people across a map with a hipfire M60 and it's pretty obvious. Give a decent player a wallhack that tracks the threats near him is less so but there are still tell tale signs. I've shadowed a few Bf3 players who were having immense rounds on my team and they did things that couldn't be explained by situational awareness and tactics.

You don't have to add OP weapons/vehicles :P ArmA has some exellent vehicles and weapons, balance is the key. It's also very simple to setup, add 'rmod' in the addons list in your mission.sqm, change your launch parameters and make sure the @rmod addon is in your root directory. -
I went through the private hive phase and I'm back to public...... it's just boring having vehicles everywhere and loads of military loot. That said the stock game needs to up the vehicles just a little bit because I haven't seen one in a month, I swear they're broken and not spawning any more. I also haven't seen ghilie suits or sniper rifles or anything, I dunno what is going on with loot atm but it seems to be not spawning right.

How do you add Custom Vehicle Spawns on a Private Hive server?

A lot of dickface admins that can't play right use something called the rMod, which re-legalizes everything to the game. AS50TWS (thermal scope), T-90 tank (which is already legal), apache hunter-killer choppers, rocket launchers, et cetera. The rMod, however, is very tricky to install depending on how your server is set up. For me, I get an infinite loop of mission loading which won't let the server launch with non-DayZ mods, which kind of sucks because I'd like to have a RPG and MG nest for the occasional helicopter hunting spree but whatever. Any item can exist in the DayZ world. However, if you were to pick up a banned item (let's say, a Mk12SPR) or get into a banned vehicle (M1A1), you automatically get kicked if you fire the gun (although it isn't deleted from your inventory. The kick prevents you from hurting anyone/anything, but you do waste the bullet) and you get kicked (I believe) on moving the vehicle. The illegal vehicle will delete within 10 seconds of being entered. You can have an M1A1 to look cool; you just can't use it. The only time I've seen the rMod used right was on this massive RP server in which a loose coalition of expatriated soviet forces (bandits) used stolen Russian equipment (T90s, et cetera) to take over the major cities and north airfields. The US military, after stopping (most) of the west-hemisphere outbreak crisis, got paratrooped via C130J into Chernarus. The US and Russian forces had kick ass weapons (MG36, RPK-74, et cetera) and pretty cool vehicles (helicopters with no missiles, 5-shot RPGs mounted on trucks). There was a lot less focus on the real survival aspects... it was kind of a giant Team Death Match with zombies and starvation added in. -
