  1. I like the newer updates, and while I understand some of the frustrations of some people, let me explain why I think it's all a step in the right direction towards a more realistic game. Personally I think having total badass killer zombies is awesome, because now instead of clearing through paths of zombies my friends and I choose to just avoid that particular path for the obvious reasons of infection, or just getting our asses handed to us by a horde. It gives me that feeling of needing to wait for the right time to move. About the loot, obviously some people are are stressed as to the amount of time spent into looking for equipment. I too used to be in agreement that the loot was too rare. Then - take this in - I looked outside the cities of Cherno and Elektro. Within two hours (a reasonable time to get suited up) I had myself an AK with 4 mags, camo clothing, all the food and water I needed, a shit tonne of medical supplies and a UAZ in perfect condition. I stopped playing the game with the idea that I must 'get off shoreline, live by NWAF' and started playing to just survive. I find it much better that I don't have to deal with 25 different people that got strapped up in 20 minutes and headed north. I like the feeling of "YES I @#$*ING MADE IT!" more than "Well this is going to take a while".

    Injuries/Illnesses!

I agree with this. I enjoy the survival aspect of the game more so than the zombie killing / pvp. Small additions like the ones mentioned before are what I feel makes the experience. With this zombie craze being so large scale a game like this would need small things like this to compete with tripple A titles, and companies that might say "Hey these guys are on to something with this Day-Z. Let's try to top it".

    I'm sorry, I don't understand.

    alcoholic running around cherno!

^ This. I wont let this slip without it being labelled as stupid or genius.

    Injuries/Illnesses!

Now I apologize in advance if the topic has already been brought up, but I have used to search function and nothing seems to have come up. Anyways.. I've been going through some old suggestion posts online and there are a few that I find cool. I had read one which someone had said that they thought it would be interesting if while looting zombies you were to get blood on your hands, and in turn you would have a small chance of getting sick from dealing with infectious remains. I'd like to add on to this by saying this could be preventable simply by finding latex gloves in a hospital, or some biker gloves at a bar. I enjoy this idea because lets be real, Day-Z is the most intense (I wouldn't say realistic JUST yet) zombie experience available to gamers to date. Now this idea may be better looking to me than others, but it's just a basis for anyone to discuss :) As well as illnesses contracted by zombies, other survivors or sick animals (I don't like surviving the harsh wilderness riddled with zombies and bandits, just to see a cow taking it easy munching some grass haha) I think some more minor injuries might add some realism to the game. I had seen a video from E3 of the SA and saw that sometimes a zombie will be able to knock you off your balance. What if on occasion we were to actually fall from this hit, and have a chance to sprain a wrist or ankle depending on what we fell onto? Assuming zombies aren't able to run as fast/faster than the survivor this would still allow for some enjoyable gameplay. Let me know if my idea is horrible, or if there is something to it and lets talk what we enjoy/dislike about this!
  7. Hey Smith, I'd like to get in on this but the application process confuses me somewhat. I've been playing Day-Z for a while now and would like to take it to the next level, though I don't have much experience with online clans. i'll be popping in the server for a bit to check things out :)

    Need Help (Maps, Versions, Symbols)

Hey bro. Day-Z is one of the more confusing things to start up for the first time, but there's a few launchers out there that will help you out. Most people use the Day-Z commander. From there you can filter your search results, add favorite servers, download different Day-Z mods as well as update them. You can get the launcher from here http://www.dayzcommander.com/ I gave up trying to launch Day-Z from steam or the actual program, and was relieved to find something like this.

    DayZ - Golden Shot [1.2km]

Good shot! Here, have some beans :)
  10. No need to be aggressive. As I had stated before I was new and would try to help any way I can. I appreciate your input as I'm sure does the thread poster.
  11. I am able to connect through the origins servers just fine through commander, just as easy as the regular version.
  12. Hey man, I'm sort of new too, but let me try my best. Day-Z vanilla is the original Day-Z mod. There are private servers, and official servers. If you join a private server, your progress will be saved onto that server only. With official Day-Z servers, your progress is saved throughout each one and you can continue where you had last left off in any official server. In the vanilla, you are in Chernarus, a massive 225km2 map. The shoreline is filled with large cities where most of the general loot is found, as well as the bandits and zombies. Bandits are other players who play to kill everything that they feel like with the intent to steal your equipment. Heroes are players who have gone out of their way to do nice things in the game, like give out equipment or come save you in your time of need. These heroes have proven their worth by administering blood bags to other players (which gives the person more blood than if they were to deliver it themselves), bandaging their wounds and so forth. I think, but am not sure, that if you kill enough people a rag, bandana, or face mask will appear on your character. The same goes for heroes, if they do enough good things their clothing upgrades. Day-Z origins is a mod OF the day-Z mod. The map is smaller, and I think it's a bit harder than the original. Vehicles you find will most likely need to be repaired before being able to use. Houses can be built to store your items, along with garages to store your vehicles. This requires quite amount of work and supplies to do, including the blueprints. I think this mod is best played with friends, as it can be hard to loot popular areas in such a small map. Personally I don't think either is better, but I do play the vanilla more.
  13. Hey bruthaa. Im 19 years old from Canada looking for some people to play with. Im on almost daily and have been playing for the last 3 months. Let me know if you're willing, I'd love to team up.

    Looking for a small group.

Hey man! I'm 19 years old from Canada looking for some people to play with. I don't have a clan or anything, I just don't want to play alone. If you're willing, send me a message and let's survive the wilderness, lol.
  15. I'm looking for a couple people to play Day-Z or Day-Z origins with. Preferably over 16 but it doesn't matter too much. I'm not looking for anything special I just don't want to play alone. I've been playing for about 3 months now and while I wouldn't consider myself to be a pro, I feel confident in my ability to survive. Usually playing for a couple hours a day and I live in Canada. Send me a message or reply here and I'll send you my steam username .
