I really only play Breaking point, though i will play regular DayZ sometimes. I don't like large groups, i like to stick around 2-4 people. I also don't like vehicles since they're loud and give position away. Though i keep them at base to pick up members that have died. I'm not a bandit either, i like to stalk people. This is correct for your quad core, also disable hyper-threading in your bios, disable any cpu power saving features, check for cpu parking in resource monitor. Servers with 1000 vehicles and 50 players (seems to be quite popular these dayz) tend to cause major lag with all the added objects and such. I stay away from those servers. Some additional launch parameters for your enjoyment: -maxVRAM=(10 below your actual VRAM without parenthesis) -maxMem=2047 (anything higher defaults to 2047, without specifying sometimes it will only use 1.5GB)

Most likely someone dumping gear in there so they have space to carry vehicle parts, unless its a private hive vehicles don't spawn with much in them, maybe a makarov if your lucky. -

Hello Guys! I have just opened up a new server and i'm hoping that more people will join, take a look at what i have to offer:- 500+ Vehicles - This includes Planes, Jets and Trucks! This may seem too easy but i can assure you they are placed in the most difficult spots to find....unless they're bikes then you'll have no trouble! Active Admins - We'll always be happy to help you out no matter what it is, as long as it's regarding the server. Heli Lifts - We'll be happy to pick you up and drop you anywhere, as long as it's not to attack a base, we'll drop you off 500m away if that's the case! Auto Refuel - We have no managed to get the auto refuel script working! Just simply drive upto a petrol station, scroll with your mouse wheel and select refuel, simple as that! Debug Monitor - Our debug gives you information on kills, blood, humanity ect. Edited Map - The map has been edited so the towns are improved, loot has increased and even make it a lot more challenging! Camps/Bases - Throughout the map you will find camps and bases with a story behind them, it is your task to reveal the truth! Basic Loadout - We have made sure that we haven't made it too easy for you, our simple but strategic loadout gives you the original DayZ excitement! Thriving Community - Our friendly and active admins will be happy to talk to you, or just simply talk to the community...even the bandits are sometimes talkative! You may be wondering that there isn't any salvaging or self bloodpacks or anything like that? Well we believe that things like that take the teamwork out of DayZ, if you can self bloodpack, you might as well be a bandit! This is just a few of the things which we have to offer, please feel free to just drop by and play with us, we'll be happy to help you out in anyway possible! Just don't ask any of the admins for free loot or vehicles, it's not going to happen! But we can help you search for it! Rocket has said that when they redo the vehicles players will be able to remove a door from one car to put it on another. i imagine this is pretty much what he means. though not sure whether you'll be limited to only getting parts from the same car type.

Never. Doubt. Ducktape. NEVER. *Edit* You'd be surprised actually. The cars in Chenarus aren't the fiberglass and aluminum tin cans we drive now. While yeah pounding out a dent in a car that wrapped around a tree going 70 MPH won't 'fix it' you can still salvage parts from the car itself or do HEAVY repairs. And perhaps that'd be the point. Sure the Arma system deals with 'wrecked' cars by blowing them up, but lets say Rocket finds a way to merge the tech in this game with Standalone for vehicles. It would probably take a bit of work but the payout could be very rewarding. Lets say someone drives his car into a tree, for all intents and purposes destroying the front end and the engine (and a mechanic in game marks the vehicle as 'unrepairable' and marks it for despawn after 2 restarts and makes the vehicle respawn after a 3rd in its spawn location), and dies in the accident. Another player comes along and finds the wreck, grabs what he can from the dead driver's equipment and goes off. Another driver finds the remains of the car and strips off a part that's still in 'workable' condition (doors, tires, fuel tank, ect) and mounts it in a compatible vehicle. Comes back a day later and peels off every part he can that's not 'destroyed' then takes them to a garage/workshop/player base to do 'heavy' repairs.

First of all, chernarus ( or at the least not map accurate) is not real. the map you find in game is based on a place in the Czech Republic. I think expanding on the "semi fake" current chernarus would be an amazing idea! Definitely a Namalsk type zone up north, and a sothern Utes/Takistan zone accessible by air vehicles or perhaps a new kind of big boat/ship. As someone said some end game loot would be in the Northern Territory, with maybe more of a focus on vehicles like jets/helicopters/aircraft carrier?/and Hum-Vees down south. Maybe farther to the east could be a big ass island like Madagascar. This island could be an NPC outpost/base like in Origins mod. More endgame loot possibly??? (P.S bring the Gauss gun back in the desert map?!?). (P.P.S A but load of oil rigs please) -
Well that happens in riots so something really bad has happened when there are so many of those burned vehicles.

Looks like my binding idea wasn't so bad after all.... :) Gagging and Binding02 April 2013 - 09:55 AM Now I don't know if this idea has been brought up before, but I thought I might as well suggest it anyway. With the new crafting elements that will be present in the Standalone, I think that the ability to gag another player would be very useful. Firstly, the item to gag another player could be a rag. This rag could also be used for creating molotov cocktails. When a player is gagged, they are unable to use any in-game forms of communication, including text chat. They are able to remove the gag, if their hands are not tied. Now restraining a player by tying their hands with rope would also be another cool feature for the Standalone. If a player has their hands tied, they are unable to equip and use any weapons, use melee, climb ladders, or drive vehicles. To remove the rope, the player needs either someone else to remove it, or to find a sharp weapon such as an axe or hunting knife as a loot item. I feel that by including these elements will give players another reason NOT to shoot on sight. This would also add new ways to play the game, including taking hostages, using other players as bait (for other players and zombies) etc. I believe this could actually help reduce players shooting on sight. A main reason why players do so now, is because they either feel immediately threatened, or feel that they may be threatened in the near future. By adding in these elements, the gagged and bound player is much less of a threat. They can even become an asset. Opinions? -

This looks great. Why is it that a good 40% of this community only cares about superficial animation crap? That's the kind of stuff you iron out in late development. They're still dealing with real issues which require a massive amount of programming, debugging, testing, implementing, ect. It takes time. I'm glad to see that you're figuring out ways of fixing desync. I trust that the server will be able to stream all that persistent information on-the-fly to the client with maximum fidelity. Have you tested the new streaming system with vehicles yet? Is it possible that inside a vehicle, your player's "update range" could automatically increase to accommodate for your increased speed? Hopefully that could mitigate issues like running into barriers/objects that suddenly *pop* into being right in front of your vehicle, which happens in the mod from time to time. Also, any chances we could maybe get some screens or a small video of some of that bleeding action? I get that it doesn't work in MP yet, but just a demo of the functionality itself might be nice to see. P.S. rocket, I actually like the zombie attacks. They don't look bad at all. I also like how the jumping attack opens up a small window for the zombie to miss you, if you dodge them just right. I think people who complain about it just want slow, easy zombies that they don't have to worry about so they can go around killing other players 90% of the time. -

What is wrong with today's Dayz players?

I've read posts like this too many times. It seems like all you're just hating on the bandit playstyle. I've been playing DayZ for over a year. When I first started, I started with a bandit mentality. If you crossed me, I shot you. I tried the medic scene, but it didn't work out, and I still carry that bandit mentality today. I like to think of it in the way that the people of this community paid for Arma 2, meaning they can play it however they please. If they're not hacking, exploiting, etc, etc, it is 100% within their rights to do as they please. If they want to shoot fresh spawns, so be it. Do I agree with it? No. But it's apart of the game. I enjoy DayZ the way it is today. I wouldn't enjoy it if everyone was just one big happy family running around the map. Don't take this the wrong way, but frankly, I feel you're half bitching and moaning about KoS, and half bitching an moaning about "12 year old", combat logging, and/or sidechat. If you don't like combat logging, find a good server/community. If you don't like sidechat, find a server with sidechat disabled. And since you clearly dislike 12 year old who lack "testicle fortitude" find a whitelisted server that has an age limit. I also don't understand your bitching vanilla, and how if you play something non-vanilla you should go be a little girl and play Pokemon and WoW. That is utter bullshit. Just because a server isn't vanilla, that doesn't mean it's "10,000,000 vehicles", etc, etc. Without mods like Namalsk, 2017, DayZero, etc, I would have been bored of DayZ a while ago. People are playing these mods because they are trying to keep that spark, trying to keep their interest peeked. I'm sure I've missed plenty, but it just seems your post is just you making the DayZ community look like one big fuckup. You're making it sound like whomever doesn't play 100% vanilla is a 12 year old KOSing, combat logger. People have differnent playstyles, opinions, and beliefs. The sooner you except they aren't going to be mirror images of yours, the better off you will be here.
