"Hardcore" gameplay.

Search 'RU 68' and choose the Harcore1/2 server. I get 100 ping in NW Europe and it really depends on your location. However I noticed a couple of extra deerstands, this server is mostly the hardcore vanilla dayz with these exceptions. Search 'Day-z.pl' for a mercenary (hardcore) Polish server. Although there are several custom bicycle spawns in villages at the coast. Again, it is still the real dayz experience without 3rd person etc. The bicycles actually make the game a hell of a lot more fun because they are not too OP and get reset every server restart (to the coast) so you can't keep it forever. The other vehicles do not get reset. This server however does have quite a bit more custom things such as a firestation in Zelenogorsk but as I said before it is still the dayz experience. -

The windows therefore should have controls to wind up or down. Winding them down would reduce protection for those inside, particularly for armoured vehicles such as the humvees. -
I want to play the game the way the mod designers intended it. Default Churno map. Veteran. No side channel. No cross hairs or player mouse-overs. No extra vehicles. No extra guns or modified spawns. No custom bases. I want to play it on the current patch. And I don't want my vehicles to reset to their spawn location every time the server resets. And I want to play on a private hive so that people stop ghosting up behind me by switching servers so they can cross fields and kill-zones without being seen. I want the survival experience. I want to worry about not having enough antibiotics. Does this exist anywhere? Or is everyone just running a COD server? I found ONE server running 1.7.7 on a private hive on Veteran mode. CIA Gaming server... ... but the vehicles reset every six hours when the server does, and there are way to many of them.

I gave examples, Zeppa. What do you want me to do, stand here and list all of them? Here, have more. Flares, skinning animals, chemlights, blood bags, and so on. Also, if you ask me, I think lumping vehicles in as just "another missing feature" is a tremendous leap of faith. That's going to require a huge amount of programming and they're also a huge chunk of game play. -

There's a difference between "a couple thousand" and "hundreds of thousands". Maybe I missed them, but I didn't see Campfires, Tents, Vehicles, and so on. The mod has those. Does the Alpha? -

I really don't understand the point to these showcases. On one hand Rocket will claim that only a small and devoted portion of the DayZ fan base should buy the Alpha. On the other hand, in this demonstration, he mentions wanting "hundreds of thousands of people" to access the game for testing. The Alpha will have very little features, much less than the mod (we haven't seen tents, campfires, vehicles, flares & chemlights, etc), yet Rocket feels the need to talk about many, many awesome things they'd like to eventually put in the game. His trademark "but first we need to get the Alpha out there" is going to make people think that development will rapidly pick up after release. The reality, that many of the "hundreds of thousands of" buyers don't realize, is that in the history of game development has no product ever increased productivity after releasing to the public. Productivity will slow down after release. For that reason I do not think these hype conferences are honest. -
It's already confirmed that they are revamping vehicles. Rocket wants to be able to swap things like a door from one vehicle to another. Not sure what else he has in mind but it is in the works.

Oh hahahaha, you play a zombie game where if you die you respawn, where guns, ammo, food, medicine, vehicles, components and animals magically get shat into the world, yet you claim a certain type of medicine re-spawning would be 'too unrealistic'? Okay. If you were truly concerned with realism you wouldn't touch this game unless there is 1 world with a set amount of resources that do not come back, where if you die you get banned from the server permanently and there is a zombie population that can eventually hit 0. Also I don't know you, but I have at least 30 antibiotic tablets in my medicine cabinet, but I don't have any morphine or Epinephrine. Surely if people looted the antibiotics zombies should have like a 5-10% chance of dropping one. Presumably they looted the medicine then died with it on their person or in their gear.

there is a mod for Arma 2 that allows shooting assault rifles from little birds as seen in this vid @ 0:25, no doubt it could be added to land vehicles.

something messed up in the spawn i'm afraid: Biplane and HMMV spawn in the debug, this was confirmed by me. after seeing it pop up while logging in and changing skins i went out to investigate (yes i made 24km trip) and saw with my own eyes the freshly spawned vehicles. managed to repair and bring them back to the map area, after that they stayed there through server restarts. i probably should blow them up to see if they spawn in debug again. to be more specific: it is the place where everyone goes while logging in / changing skins. i have coordinates noted down but i'm not sure if i should post them here, since people might decide to go camp there.

I'm not sure if this has been suggested, but here it goes: So third person has been a target of debate in the standalone, mainly because it is very exploitable (looking around corners, looking behind things etc) so why not set it out like this: Players, zombies, loot, vehicles and anything of interest is invisible until your character is directly facing it. So it will seem as though nothing is there if you're looking there in third person. Hopefully then it will encourage more people to use first person in firefights and engagements. If you're hiding behind a wall in 3rd person, scanning for players no-one will appear, but as soon as your character is facing them, they appear again. The human eye can see ~150º if the internet is correct, so players in a 150º FoV will appear to the player. I have edited a large portion of this suggestion as most people seem to be focused more on the third person idea rather than the others. Thats all for now, please tell me what you think.

Sure - this is how I have it a majority of the time when I'm not chopping and changing settings. It doesn't help that I'm using a Arma free/OA - could that really make a difference? Maybe in physical texture quality (doesn't look drastically different apart from inside vehicles/buildings though). I've played w/ launch parameters too - set up to my knowledge correctly (from the B.I forums) - maxmem, maxVram and the processor core parameter (forget what it was). Hasn't really made any difference. Also every now and again I almost get a ''wave'' go vertically up my screen. It's hard to describe, almost like a transparent single wave that travels across the screen but not long enough to really notice - just a second. I noticed it this time when I went from crouched to standing. I've noticed if I'm trying to read a sign or look at loot on the floor as I'm running past - focusing on anything small really as I move, it all appears to ''blur together'' and tear. Best way I can describe it. Not like post processing effects however. I thought I was crazy till a buddy of mine mentioned he gets a similar issue but neither of us could quite pinpoint exactly what it was to explain it. Here's a couple examples of my 2nd problem that I get, much easier to capture than my main issue unless I uploaded a video and even then as it's not 100% true quality so it's hard. I've noticed the weird tear/blur/headache inducing effect on some streams I think when people move through buildings, so idk. Example of the blur. Happens on any map, not just Taviana. I can get whole blocks like this, literally so blurry the graphics may have come from Wolfenstein 3d back in the day, then I can get closer and they go sharp like the ones next to it on the picture. Then back to blurry from 20m away, then sharp. The picture quality is probably not great as it's from a 10 sec clip I then print screened - so not ''true to game'', but it's enough to see. Example of pop ups. Notice how the first pic the whole arrangement of the windows is different. Literally a second between the pictures, if that. I ran on the first pic, then came to a rest for the second. Both these pictures were 2 seconds after the blur one - so all in the space of 10 seconds of movement. Again, I get this on Chernarus too. Sometimes i'll get roof's of sheds etc flickering from 10m away, that physically change textures completely as I move. Can kinda understand it from 800m scoped in though.

I use DayzCC for single-player and playing with my partner. It's legit, and nobody can hack it, if you PW protect it. It's robust, and from what I've read on the DayzCC forum some are using it to host 40 players. That depends on your PC hardware and connection speed. I gather it's the basic server used by Dayz Priv, a hosting outfit. But without all the server admin control bells and whistles. It still has some development connection to Dayz Priv, though they are different entities. Unless you have tools and SQL abilities, you'll basically be playing vanilla. But there's a loadout SQL generator that allows you to easily paste whatever loadout you want into the control panel configure loadout window. The control panel also provides some common admin functions. Delete/repawn vehicles is one. It also supports about 8-9 other vanilla maps. Lingor. Takistan, Taviana, etc. You should have decent computer skills if you want to install and run it, but it's pretty easy to use. Don't expect hand-holding support. Novogeek is the sole developer now, and is doing a bang-up job in keeping it going. He expects to release the newest version, which supports Dayz 1.7.7.1, in a few days. That will be DayzCC version 5.9.3.0 Wait until he releases that, because anything else - except the old package supporting 1.7.6 - is a mess. I'm running Dayz 1.7.7 with the old DayzCC version 5.9.2.0 with no issues I care about, but obviously new elements like stashes aren't in the DB. But 5.9.2.0 won't run Dayz 1.7.7.1 for me. So I'm looking forward to the new CC release. 1.7.7 is brutal even with no PvP. Having said all that, playing single or with a partner on your own server is only good for "training" with no PvP to deal with. That's a lot different than mixing it up on public servers. You won't have any "fun" at all once you've adequately trained and seen the scenery. You could do pretty much the same by finding a low-pop server, and I've done that too.

I feel like I'm writing a profile for match.com or myspace back in 2007 lol. tl;dr version - Looking for a serious relationsh - I mean ..uh,teammates/squad. I'm 24, from UK - from down south London way originally but living in the North East for the past 5 years. Played DayZ mod since June last year, would consider myself above average and usually come out on top when it comes to PVP and hold my own as a lonewolf. Good vehicle driver and decent in heli's. Played Vanilla, Origins, DayZero and Broken Point (try to avoid BP cuz of all the issues it has). ATM playing Origins as DayZero is preferred but too squad orientated even for the better lone wolves (the standard of PvP and squad play on there is ridiculously good - approaching Stary/NWAF solo can be suicide). I'm not looking to build anything on Origins however, just general banditry. Half the reason my original squad disbanded somewhat is losing our shit on Origins every 2 weeks haha. I would consider myself a neutral player generally - I go out my way to help people on occasions and sometimes hesitate to KoS and will never shoot a unarmed player. I met everyone I squadded with in game through helping them/them helping me and us teaming up so I'm not a straight hero or bandit. Record my gameplay quite a bit and would stream if my 0.8 upload could handle it and I'd put effort into a channel if I had some decent squad play behind me - at the moment I just have a shit ton of clips that I just keep deleting and recording over lol. So I'd be happy to team up with some serious players who actually don't mind taking their time and playing tactically, especially hotspot areas (i wont miss the random enfield spam or people deciding to run into the middle of the NWAF for no reason from ). Also don't mind farming/repairing vehicles if needs be - I get bored of running around Cherno/Electro playing TDM. Regarding my old squad the 2 mature guys have moved on to other games, 1 can barely run the game so we spend more time troubleshooting/looking for FPS tips, 1 is quite immature and 1 gets bored too easily and decides to spam their Enfield in the middle of Stary for no reason at all haha. So I'm branching out and making new friends <3. Usually on most nights about 630/7pm GMT > 11/midnight GMT - between working/catering to my girlfriend (aka under the thumb) and studying for my accountancy quals. On weekends if I'm free it's not uncommon for me to totally geek out and do a huge session, especially as my sleep schedule is fucked on weekends (it's like 4am here now, debating on hopping back into a server for a little even though i'm up at 10am and I work a 9-5 during the week) Have a mic + Skype, usually use my mic but in a effort to not be totally ignorant to my GF and lock myself away I don't use it 24/7. pm me on here or just add me on Skype - xstarblazer1

Moving furniture around would definitely help the whole barricading a house concept but like icrush said, I doubt the engine will allow it. As for hiding in furniture, that shouldn't be too complicated to code; if they wanted an easy way to do it, it would basically consist of making stationary vehicles with props instead of actual vehicles as their model. The player can climb into it, just like they would in a car.

We aim to be a friendly survivor group, but we won't hesitate to kill known bandits or defend ourselves or our gear. We had a helocopter; saved it.. logged out.. server reset, and we came back on (less then 30 seconds) nobody on the server but us before and after -- HUEY was gone. Private Hive US 843 ... also, all the loot piles (like vehicle husks, care packages, etc.) are spawning under the -center- of the spawn object, all stacked ... (such as all loot spawning under the care package or car husk where you can't (easily?) get at it.) All stacked perfectly. Also, our van (which we parked a half hour before we got the van) while nobody was on.. was magically reset to default loot at it's Gas Station (South of Berenzio~ the famous van spawn) on the east-coast on the other side of the map after we pointedly *did* save it. Vehicles are not saving when we select 'Save'.

I found most of the custom map servers to be riddled with "enhancements"(over9000 vehicles, starting gear, safe zones, side chat, donation perks, etc), at least the populated ones anyway.

Good Evening all, recently i got involved into a nice server(DayZ Origins server). This server is currently a whitelisted server of players that are 21+ of age. Everybody is constructing there stronghold and repairing there vehicles because once this is done the server will become a pvp server. Sinds i am a new member on this server i don't know a lot of players and i tend to do things as a lone wolf. and honest this can be very hard! and lets not talk about boring it can be... So! I am looking for 3 players to form a squad with. People that are easy going and like to chat with each other and work well together. Also the person must! and this is a must! be over 21+. pref also players from europe is highly welcome because of the diffrent timezones. still i love to meet people from all the globe so don't let this discourage you. I am looking for players that like to play this game on a regular basis and are not afraid of going into combat with there fellow squads.
