I believe 1 (I think the popular term is Mad Maxing) is going to be in when vehicles are readded to the game, 2 I think is something they might want to do but haven't heard anything about. (they will be absent in the Alpha release from my understanding). Number 3, assuming you mean like walking around in the back of a Ural or van, or even running around the cargo bay of a c130 is as far as I know is not possible with the engine (it would turn the car into a blender with you as the goldfish in a sense). If you mean just jumping from seat to seat it's something we can do already in the mod.

The beginning is more PvE as you work your way up from your humble beginnings, then the PvP comes as you gear up to a level where you can engage people with a good chance of success. "Several hours" of play is really just dipping your toe into the game, learning where to loot and how to avoid zombies. After several more you should have the water canteens, hunting supplies and familiarity with the world to sustain yourself, then you'll be ready to start gearing up for PvP, establishing tents and working on vehicles as you see fit The best advice I can give is, if you haven't already, familiarize yourself with the map at www.dayzdb.com/map. There you can learn which buildings will give you loot, what kinds of loot to expect, and how to get around the huge map. Probably the best way to get a decent weapon without encountering other people at the "hot" military loot sites is to go deer-stand hopping around the map. What makes this game's PvP so intense is that it can break out when you least expect it, and every fight puts your hard-earned gear on the line -
Been playing dayz and numerous dayz mods since its release. Tons of experience. Excellent pilot with all vehicles/aircraft. Sniper, assault, scavenging, you name it I know how to do it. Played with several squads in the past. I currently play, and am looking to continue playing the following mods: DayZero Dayz Epoch DayZ Origins I'm 28, laid back, and looking for some mature players to group up with. 18+ please, and a stress-free, fun, shit-talking and joke making environment desired. North American players preferred due timezone compatibility, unless you're a night-owl Euro in which case no problem. I have a Teamspeak server if needed. Please do NOT recruit me for massive gaming communities to which I have to be initiated, rank up, follow a bread crumb trail, whatever. I am strictly looking for a smaller group of casual gamers. (for example, between 3 and 20ish players total).

Small hunting houses that will have tents food and a hunting rifle such as a winchester cz enfield. Also it would add to the challenge if you would have to maintain your vehicles parts over time would break would be cool if there were crafting workshops were you could transform different things into different materials ammo.

What has happened to the people who look for challenge? Do the majority of the community really want 1000's of vehicles? starting weapons and attack choppers? A unpenetrable stronghold with hundreds of itemslots? What has happened to the seek of immersive survival game? A second after a patch that made you do a little more than just "lol I run thru zombies" there is a massive outcry that "this is too hard wtf fix this!" If the standalone will be the way rocket is saying I just hope it will push the players who wants cookies before work away from the game. And I know this is me pushing my hand in fire, bash me to the ground if you like but surely there are some people that think like this too :D

I think we have to assume that by the time us 'survivors' reach Chern battles to fight back the horde have happened and been lost. Perhaps we have washed up here by mistake. As part of the lore I reckon most assault rifles in the arms lockers are gone. A bit like in the Walking Dead where they go to look for all the guns in the police station to find it looted. They find one round for the revolver! I was thinking more about crafting. When broken the knives could yield a 'small blade', 'medium blades' could be found in factories or perhaps on old lawn mowers, perhaps on farms, 'large blades' could be what you get when a machete breaks. Combine one of these with 'rags' or wood and wire to create small/regular/large 'shiv', a basic weapon and a tool for cutting animals. As they are crude they would yield a low amount of meat. I should probably say something about guns though. My friend had an air pistol which was a decommissioned 'Russian service pistol', I guess that was the Makarov! Shame it's gone now. The Bison was difficult to use in game, but I reckon that should be in there because it is cool in its own way. I reckon heli and other vehicles should have the odd gun from other places on them. As if forces from other countries have come to investigate the situation and got overwhelmed. Finding something rare, if with limited ammo would be very very special. -
It's a good point but I don't think Standalone will follow that logic - it's about a base level of survival really, and on that logic there'd probably be a horrendous amount of vehicles in-game. On the other end of the spectrum, maybe everyone took their vehicles and fled without having time to pick up their helmets or whatever? I think regardless of how it plays out, there'll always be a way to explain it. I plan on being the Masked Panted Man on release of standalone. Come out of a bush in pants and a helmet, rob people at gunpoint for their clothes, leave them naked and move onto the next victim.

Hi! Excellent post SmashT. Just wanted to add to your list: rMod2.1 and OWPack rMod2.1: In the same respect as rMod, and rMod2, we have revamped the entire core design of rMod.pbo and added several new, key features, including the occlusion of peripheral dots, and the addition of Unarmed Variants of EVERY Single Airplane and Helicoptor. These unarmed variants are a bit misleading as they only remove radar, and pull the major HE or Sabot payload from the aircraft. This is an effort to include these vehicles in servers that don't necessarily want tons of military loot. The primary MAchine Guns have been left alone and with the addition of new Server PAck features, like Reality and Pwnzers new design can spawn in with a random amount of ammo for these weapons. OWPack: In an effort to make the installation of rMod, rMod2, and rMod2.1 easier for newer, semi-skilled server owners, we have made OWPack, the OFFGaming Warrior Essentials Pack. This modpack is a collective of weapons and vehicles, (only the best) from around ArmaHolic and from some of the ArmA2 Super Supporters and Modders out there like RH and FHQ. The installation is easier in that because of the nature of its design, rMod can face a lot of problems with the frequent changes that are included in each DayZ update that may stop the writing of this, or delete that if spawned in. With OWPack, there is nor rMOd, you can simply enable the Addon, @owpack and enjoy. Clients will of course still have to download. This pack does not unlock any ArmA vehicles or weapons, therefore cannot be governed by any sort of fakevehicle, fakeweapon banning script. Both of these mods can be found at our website, www.offgaming.us as well as installation instructions, and a complete listing of vehicle, player skin, and weapon id's. I hope that you find these useful, and begin implementing them into your server. With these tools, you can make ANY map your absolute own. Let's put the power back into the hands of the server owner.
