If it's not worth playing for you at the moment, then I understand. I have several friends who feel that way. What do they do? They don't play. I suggest you follow suit. Good luck. The group working on the hunting is not there, so this is filmed before they were hired. Also it's possible that other people work from other places than that office. An approximation of the current work force would be between 40 and 50 people. I actually thought it would be more shit than it is. Based on videos I'd seen on youtube and word of mouth from friends. No, the excuse for their so called short comings is that making a game from scratch is pretty difficult, and shit happens. Bugs show up, and have to be dealt with. Your complaints are still not constructive. And never will be. It's in their nature. I can totally understand why the devs choose to not wade through the sea of excrements that is this forum. If people were a little more interested in understanding the game development process, and behaved in a more mature way about it they probably would still show up here from time to time. But the current state of this forum, and the behavior of the members give the devs all the reasons to not come here. This place is a fucking mess, and people are behaving very immaturely, spewing their hate to the left and right. When I need information on the internet I search for it until I find it. It's almost never where I want it to be, and usually not all collected for my pleasure in one convenient place.
  2. Well hello guys. I always wanted to make the dayz experience more realistic and fun. I've made a little mod a while back ago called Dayz Nexus, here's a link to an old thread: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/126448-dayz-nexus-1761-200-vehicles-acre-jsrs-smk-animations-dogs-ai-base-building-new-skins-custom-loot-scripts-hacker-free/#entry1215844 Basically the mod adds ACRE - which is a radio mod, so people can communicate with radios using TS. The ACRE mod makes a more immersive environment. In this mod everyone who joined the server had to join the TS server and when they were in game it moved them to the ACRE channel. There are different kinds of radios, each one can reach a certain amount of kilometers. I also used shacktack's volume control addon that lets you set the loudness of your voice through the acre radio. I think ACRE adds alot to the game experience and I find it very weird that servers don't use it. So tell me, will you guys be interested in a dayz server with acre implemented in it or maybe in a "realistic" dayz modification? Although my last project didn't go very well I still wanted to give it a shot.

    Is anyone tired of this game because of KOS?

    I think the KoS mentality is something needed in the game. Like it was said before it adds to the tension and realism of the game. I think that once some more features are added you will see a little less of it, or just less people as they will be out hunting for meat. As you stated though with the map size and predetermined loot spawns it's difficult to remove KoS. Sadly vehicles will just make it easier to move around quicker killing more people. While it's quite annoying to be killed by someone who KoS it's a needed part of the game!
  4. No please no. I remember 2 years ago when you spawned just with your pants on the coast. Now when I spawned in DayZ mod I could choose where to spawn, and I even spawned with shotgun and silence pistol so WTF is this? Why doesn´t it spawn us directly to the base, where the server give us AS50, tents with full loot and 3-4 vehicles? It is radiculous. Modders are destroying this game. It was good as it was made.
  5. Hey, We have everything, I mean everything you have listed. We have active admins, we are nice and always help you, whether that be, adding new equipment or helping you with your building. Our admins come from Many different countries (all speak English but each know at least one other language) This means your clan will have 24/7 Administration and Help. We have Tonnes of vehicles available, because we have started a new server just recently, means also great FPS. Griefing is allowed, but being abusive with griefing will be dealt with and not ignored, The clan name is XXX and we value ALL players and gameplay. We are about having fun and putting in a few fun competitions to keep fighters happy. the IP is 23.235.236.15:2301 If you join the server, ask for funbilla, He will help you out in any way possible. its truly amazing.
  6. Showing us a clear structured"Road Map" is really needed me thinks :) . As it seems a lot of stuff ( new items, animations, map improvments,zombies etc) will be developed and improved until the end of the alpha or even beta, having no concrete time frame. But game mechanics like camping, cooking, hunting, deseases and wound system, vehicles, persistent items, basebuilding etc will have ( or should have) a clear road map I guess and it would be nice to know what to expect when and also would stop a lot of useless whining on the forums. PS: talking about this nagging for vehicles which I see all the time...I for example don't care about vehicles and tons of new weapons but really would love to see the promised desease/infectiion/wounds (medic) system and other survival aspects ( hypothermia for example) being implemented as soon as possible ...also as I said before ( again and again) . I can not see any sense in implementing performance killing stuff like vehicles and basebuilding etc as long as we do not have proper numbers of functioning zeds roaming the map... but that's just me :)

    My first post on here I usually don't do the forum thing. But I know the biggest reason me and a big group of my friends stopped playing the mod was mainly how many hackers/script kiddies we had to ban constantly when we had our server public. We would get a couple a day unlocking vehicles on the epoch mod and hacking the admin features, also running infinite ammo that is the worst. Eventually had to make it private and that just kind of ruined the fun of the game for us. No real challenge at that point. Took it down after a couple of months. It just isn't worth playing if they can't keep their numbers down. Hopefully VAC will be able to help with this. But I have seen a lot of funny business posted and seen some weird stuff on standard in SA, not as much in hardcore probably due to the lower server/ player count in those. Hope they get around to fixing the desync and wall exploiting soon. Could massively help the experience of playing the game even in alpha.
  8. we all know its and alpha, if u are one of those stereotrypical ppl that cant find out that in all reality, rocket is taking 3 years to put in core elements in a 80% incomplete game. its kind of embarrassing to be waiting that long. even more so If u have been playing this engine based game since flashpoint, its ashame to see someone like rocket take lead and pre announce his departure to a highly anticipated game with no intentions on living up to it, it seems like he will never put vehicles in cause he works too slow. after this "year" goes by, this game will improve finally but a bit too late. after all he "clearly" stated its an "alpha work in progress." aka take your money as an investment. so he basicly banked on us to lend it away in a year to get all initial sales. gg rocket, pass it over to bohemia please. "I intend this on freedom of speech" I will LULZ if I get banned my own opinion. in all reality.

    +1, but suggested a billion times before. This is a necessity for vehicles. Always bugged me in the mod, being completely defenceless on the back of an ATV, inside a car, bed of a ural (And hopefully pickups) while a heli let down streams of M240 fire, or a HMMV rammed me until my wheels popped. But the driver shouldn't be able to shoot unless the vehicle isn't moving. We should also be able to tosd Explosives out... For any Fwiends who are following.
  12. That's not really fair, though, is it? I mean, I played Breaking Point when it came out for ARMA III and I still play it on occasion today (actually I logged a few hours this evening seeing as how experimental is down). I enjoy it for what it is, but, at the end of the day, it's really just a less buggy version of the DAYZ mod with a bigger focus on PVP. There have been vehicles in BP since it was released because they're simply using the ARMA III vehicles (albeit rusted out versions of them), and the only new things they've brought to the table are the melee weapons (originally they were using the Arma II/DAYZ mod melee weapons but BI put the kibosh on that) and a sort of clumsy looting mechanic that has you rummaging through boxes/garbage bins/suitcases which saved their modeling guys the hassle of having to create 3D models of the loot items to replace the ones BI said they couldn't use. If you look at the things they've actually made, you'll see they're not very polished (the textures on the melee weapons, clothing, etc aren't very easy on the eyes), and their zombies, which walk through walls just as they do in SA although no one seems to ever mention that - are hilariously ineffective. I played on the Thirsk map today, where dozens of zombies wander around the central town, and I literally jogged around them with as much trepidation as I would running around a bunch of pylons. So, yes, they've made custom maps, have vehicles, campfires and hunting (using the same mechanic as the mod), and persistent (yet still very buggy) storage, but it's all achieved using BI assets and ideas and altered code taken from DAYZ. The core mechanics of the game work as well as they do because the majority of it was already there in the first place. I have nothing but respect for the mod team behind BP as I think they've done well with limited resources, but you simply can't compare what they've done to SA as they're essentially adding a few new strokes to an already finished painting. SA is building from the ground up. BP will never have the depth SA aspires to. Sure, it will be more refined (after all, it's in alpha as well), but it will only go as far as the engine will allow whereas the SA team are incorporating middle engines for things like physics, employing a team of devs whose specialty is actual hunting games to make the hunting aspects of SA as immersive and realistic as possible, incorporating improvised weapons, and a cooking mechanic that goes well beyond lighting a fire and clicking on a slab of raw meat in your inventory. And, while it's currently all the rage to make light of the multitude of clothing options in game (as if their very existence is what's holding up development despite the fact that they're being made by a small group of modelers who have nothing to do with the core mechanics of the game), this allows us to customize our characters so they aren't all just Black Shirt/Black Cap/Khaki heroes from BP or naked bald clones from Rust. SA will allow us to do so much, but a game of this magnitude takes time. We bought into the ground floor of what equates to a skyscraper.

    Is there a current list of loot spawn locations?

    This is the kind of third party easy mode BS that began the death spiral of the mod. I hope to God that the finished product makes loot locations and vehicles spawns completely, unalterably random to at least slow down the horrible loss of immersion which results from these websites and guides. The worst thing I did as a new player was to access these guides instead of just learning the map myself.
  16. THE LAST STAND Server IP: 68.233.251.105:2302 Hey everyone, I have set up all the initial features on the server with the help of many on this forum. It's now ready for players to start populating the server. The features as of right now include: Self-BB auto refuel suicide take clothes build snap no plot pole Salvage Safe Trader Zones AI Missions additional buildings (Barracks at different locations) *Active adult admins* 400+ vehicles Death messages are off and Cross hairs are on. An admin will be on everyday to make sure everything is running ok and helping out players, we have anti-hack and DDOS protection to help out. I've added additional barracks to the Taviana map and I will be hosting additional random events with a good reward at the end of it. The server is using the DZMS AI system, so there will be one minor mission and one Major mission going at all times which will display on the map, good loot will be at these. I will also be giving starter construction packages to the first several players that come on and enjoy the server to help jump start it. I'm always looking for feedback from the players on my server to help improve it for everyone as best I can.

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed that mods won't be allowed until the game is well past Alpha/Beta and into the 'release' version so the core features can be fleshed out. DayZ mod proved that this community is pretty self destructive, with server providers ruining the experience with Pay2win donation perks, custom loadouts, hundreds of vehicles and other things that just dumbed down the experience. None of the sub-mods really improved upon DayZ mod, they just added skins, weapons and maps but failed to address or improve on the core gameplay or survival aspect. Players just need to learn some damn patience let the devs flesh out the bones of DayZ SA.

    I have never played the DayZ mod, so I don't know to what extent the player-made addons to the mod has affected it. My guess is that some servers would disable PvP, others would disable zombies, and of course, loot whoring and vehicles galore.
  21. Lets not even fight with the ignorant (you know who you are ) and instead ignore them , for people like that are only looking for attention ... If not then why would they say another game is better (arma 3 dayz breaking point) but yet spend all their time not playing that game but instead spend it complaining about a game that is supposedly "worse"? Get real heads if you like arma 3 dayz mod that much, go play it, don't bitch about how it has so much that standalone doesn't , which in a years time (probably less) the standalone will have vehicles , storage , barricades , throwing physics , higher player counts AND restarting loot (word by dean ~ two months ago , he said from that date that roughly 8 months from then all this would be included ). Ya there's a reason why Arma 3 Dayz breaking point mod was hardly heard about , not because it's in beta but because it , unlike standalone , threw everything it had to show in at the start , almost completely destroying its potential . For people who can't understand my stoned lingo , I'm saying there's not much more to be seen from arma 3 breaking point mod , it will just give us more guns more vehicles and stay within its "mod" boundaries . Dayz (standalone) has no limits and has clearly created a whole new direction , let alone genre of pc games( and I'm not talking about the dayz mod , it truly never felt like a survival game ). yes it's bare bones now (no vehicles, storage , fire , hunting , barricades , base building, no physics yet) , but all of the pieces are Falling into place. Some People can't realize that games like Arma 3 dayz mod are just a shadow of another game and no matter how popular , it will always be abandoned at some point for something greater. That's what standalone had done : broken off into something greater (although all dayz original mods haven't been abandoned YET), so please 12 y/o's and terrible teenagers alike, stop shitting your pants and return to the sandbox (not dayz , like the sandbox at the playground ) and stay there for another year , when you come back I'm sure this game will be for you then , seein as the only thing you people look for is content new content content I want content ...(this game's human encounters are more exciting then some games END CONTENT). And for those of you who don't fall under the category of raging twelve year olds and terrible teenagers that still believe standalone is going too slow or is a ripoff : I'm sorry that life is unfair but there were plenty of warnings about bugginess and slow progress of transition to beta , so realize that dayz has given us what there never has been : a beautiful open world survival zombie game that's both multiplayer and pay by month free , I know that's not much to some people but you should learn to count your blessings cuz one day(z) were all gonna be dead . Quote me c**ts how could you possibly make a rebuttal to that truthishness ?

  23. At the end, all the players want is 10000 AS50 + 12312312 vehicles servers. Last 2 months of the mod I almost stopped playing due to lack of vanilla servers.
  24. Come join NDA's server that includes loads of ai mission's with intelligent ai that have a dead on shot and will even try to flank you. The reward is great and the risk even greater. You can find the custom areas of that map at kamenka, Cherno, NW airfield, NE airfield, and stary trader center.Vehicles are all over the map and we have medium strength armed vehicles such as BTR's, Jackals, and etc. (no tanks, attack helicopters, or jets). Missions vary from weapon caches, NATO weapon caches, bandit medical outpost, medical outpost, Plane cargo drops and crashes, and many others. We plan to add many more cities and military like areas around the map to create a more interesting Chernarus experience. With a toolbox on spawn you are able to get going right away with the toolbox to bike script. The load out consists of a G17, cooked meat, water bottle, painkillers and morphine, toolbox, map, hatchet, and flashlight. It's easy to gear up and get going which makes for a more enjoyable experience Spread the word and help us get this server started! No plot pole required for building. You can buy a evac chopper for your base that will pick you up off the coast or wherever you happen to be.     You know something else you need to take care of, other than hunger and thirst? NOT DYING FROM BEING RAPED TO DEATH BY ZOMBIES in the FUCKING ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. That should be the focus of the game, zombies, not fucking radiation [and the planned scope of the game is very large already, including hunting, foraging, base building, traps, crafting, vehicles on top of everything else; the devs don't need more to work on]. I'm in agreement with So Sexy. If it gets done, this should be made a dedicated Chernobyl world map, an entire different world with its own servers in the vein of Takistan.
