Now, yesterday as I was messing with the Arma 3 Editor, I had an idea, I got the Chernarus map in Arma 3 so I started trying vehicles. It felt really great to drive around Chernarus after running for about 125 hours in Standalone. But after I made some test, I started getting really worried. Driving around in a vehicle made me realise that it makes the map really little, so I made a video, driving from Solnichniy to Balota so you can compare it with your travels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Fror4ZhaGQ It takes 5:36 minutes to get from one point to another. I really hope vehicles are really rare and need to be repaired in DayZ. I can tell you, you miss A LOT of stuff and map details if you go vehicle only, which for me, ruins the unique DayZ experience of travelling lots of hours. If you want me do drive any other distance from one point to another in Chernarus with the vehicles you can just ask me here and I'll post the results in this thread. That SUV will probably be included in DayZ as it is a civilian vehicle and DayZ reuses some Arma 3 objects like these: But also, vehicles will give us lots of other creative possibilities. Recently i haven't really been playing dayz (standalone) mainly because of the long journeys i have had to go on to get from eg. barenzino to electro (which is an hour long journey) i think it would be great if Bohemia start putting priority on vehicles instead of other things that we don't need eg. extra towns in the north. Hey there ! When at some point we get vehicles into the game they most likely will not be spawning in a very good condition. Very likely we need to fix them and find new parts in order to get them running - I was thinking that it would be cool to have a toolbox where you could put all your tools in (like you have your medkit). I'm sure some of my mates would assume the role of the teams 'Mechanic' stacking up on various tool making sure they could fix every vehicle in the game. Would also be cool to kill someone with a fully kitted toolbox and be like: "F**k ye! now i can go fix my helicopter!" What say you guys? :thumbsup: or :facepalm:

Now, as we already know, vehicles will come a bit down the road. But I'm hoping my idea can get a vehicle in here sooner. Either they can just copy/paste the vehicles from Arma 3 or Arma 2 into the standalone, or they can for now just add a bike. While bikes aren't super fast, they're better than walking everywhere. This shouldn't be too hard to implement and can hopefully come soon. I think this will stop alot of the complaining for vehicles if we have bikes to ride around for now.
