fucking anti game , who wants an anti game. it needs more content and crafting and weapons vehicles etc. if you want anti game go jerk off with sand paper. Christ you would all be happy with 60 players and one tin of beans between you.

I definitely like the idea, but I feel that it's up to the players to decide. I don't think any admins should try to "force" things such as safe zones. If it's safe, it's safe, if not, it's not. In real life scenarios, safe zones become safe zones for a number of reasons. It could be a low-traffic area, very minimal zombie population, not easily accessible (rough terrain), close by to resources (water, wood, etc.), things such as that. The place should have a history behind it, & a legitimate reason as to why it is "safe". Not simply because an admin says "don't do this while you're in this area". Once private servers & persistant loot/storage/base-building are implemented, this could very much become a reailty. It's up to YOU to establish a community. Find the designated area that you'd like to consider a safe zone or trading post, preferably one that only has one way in & one way out so it can be monitored. Gather a group of supporters. People who share the same idea as yours. People who could benefit from joining your community as long as they can provide a service to it such as gathering food to bring back, gathering resources, guarding posts, building vehicles. etc. Once you have an established area/community, treat it how you want it to be treated. If you want to openly welcome new comers to trade goods, treat it as such. When someone approaches, don't shoot on sight, ask their intentions, & ask them what they have to offer or if they'd like to see what you have up to trade. Do the deal, & send them on their way. If you like their attitude, ask them to join your community. If you do this successfully enough, you'll start to earn a reputation. It will become a known thing that you have a legitimate, professional, established, safe zone/trading post tied to one server (until you decide to switch servers). If the people you recruit to join your community are unprofessional, & just kill anything that moves, then that's the reputation that your zone is going to gain. You have the tools at your disposal, & reputation is everything.

Hopefully it still is. There are alot of things they can add to continue to make it an anti game. 1. Completely randomized spawns that can spawn you in a military base or in the middle of the wilderness lost and disoriented. 2. ACE style ballistics and sniping + wind mechanics that already confirmed. Eliminating the 100m elevation adjustments would add much needed skill to sniping and eliminate the over abundance of noob snipers seen in the game. 3. A stamina/ weight system that punishes you for carrying too much weight and at the same time eliminates the unlimited sprint and thus makes vehicles more important.

Well, that's how I feel it should be; everything should be vulnerable, not invincible. I'm all for them adding more mechanics that encourage different playstyles (vehicles/bases = better endgame to strive for, hunting/fishing = opportunities to survive outside of cities, etc.). In fact, I think the biggest reason we have so much KoS and PvP is because there's not a whole lot to do. It's an early alpha game and the only real things we can do are test out the new features and report bugs, after that it's pretty much solved. But zones that have higher zombie spawns and variable loot rates is a great idea (i.e. military bases or large cities), I can fully support that.

Have you fixed the problem with gear and vehicles dissapearing? Also I lost all the gear in my backpsck after last restart. I know your working hard on these bugs but please fix!

it was a bad idea, to release dayz-sa in that horrible alpha-status When H1Z1 will be released, they will kill DAYZ-SA. I do not think they will have such a big success at start like dayz, but they will slowly grow up.... H1Z1 will already have at start the things what fans of dayz-sa are waiting for so long. -basebuilding -farming -hunting -vehicles and maybe - better zombies ? I hope dean hall´s-team can beat them with their dayz-game. But anyway... SONY is a big company with much more guys I think... The engine(take on helicopters) of dayz-sa is not made for such a game I think... - but, compliment otherwise, what rocket´s guys made of this engine... respect. DayZ will always feel like a flightsimulator-game, also like arma2-engine. It had been better, to take "source-engine" for dayz... -

Makes no sense to use any vehicles from Arma, when they want to create something much more complex. Why waste time porting over a vehicle, updating loot tables, implementing the loot into the engine and all the funtions for the vehicles, when they are to be removed anyway? All good things will come to those who wait. Remember that sentence in any early acces game tbh, its essential :) And tbh, if you dont want to run ingame for an hour to get from place a to b, im not sure this game is for you OP. Vehicles will not change that fact that 90% of all players still have to run, its not like we will get a vehicle each or that its gonna be easy to maintain them and gather fuel for them. I could also argue, that you dont have to run for an hour, theres plenty of places between the coast and the airfields, of interest. This game is gonna be in development for almost 2 more years, so you need to arm your self with patience and if its already running out, find something else to do in the meantime mate :) -
Hopefully, when we get some vehicles, this will be a reality :) Just imagine driving a bus (example) and crashing it against a wall at full speed. It blows up, slings the bodies of players around it and perhaps even spawns some "random loot" around it aswell, based on the kind of vehicle it is? I wont mind this being player created, but give us a little help aswell, like spawning abit of loot next to a crashed vehicle, in the trunk or spawning some dead bodies with random loot on them aswell. Its understandable the devs wants this to be player created, like everything else, but a little help from they're side would be appreciated hehe.

Do not make it so bikes/cars make sense to use off-road/off-trail

The speed thing you mentioned was in the mod, Guessing it will be in SA.. Some of the cars went around the same speed as you can spint when driven off road, and a bit fast on dirt roads.. However, the 4wd and ute style vehicles handled off road better, and could do around 30 kph off road, and 50 or so on a dirt road. -
Good idea. Car wrecks as well as makeshift roadblocks, wrecked military vehicles and such things.

I agree. When we get vehicles, you cant just go as fast as your car can go, because you would need to dodge those car wrecks.

We have the difficulty set to veteran, making gameplay more challenging. 300+ vehicles are scattered around the map, plus you can buy your own at trader cities! Our Chenarus servers are designed to be primarily player vs player (PVP), with limited safe areas around a few traders. The rest of the map is basically anything goes. Also the AI/NPC bandits will roam around, killing anyone they come across. These AI carry some great gear, so hunting season is open year round! These AI are kicked up a notch, so don't be surprised if they take your head off! If you want a full anything goes game, try our Epoch Taviana map. There are NO safe zones, and no rules regarding PVP play, so for you hard core bandit types, here's your chance to go raiding! Our admins are very active on the server and do everything in their power to make sure everyone is having a good time. Several anti-hack programs are running to help prevent hackers from ruining game play. If you suspect someone is cheating, please tell an admin without broadcasting it on the server. We will observe the player in question and determine if a violation has occurred. The admins are not players, so you don't have to worry about unfair advantages. They do provide some extra fun by hosting admin events, such as attack the admin base, treasure hunts, and other fun ways to win some great loot! Our Admins are there to help with glitches, cheaters, and hackers, but if you need help with something else, just ask. They will do what they can, as long as it's fair to everyone. We provide a free Teamspeak server for players, helping you to team up and communicate to give you more depth of play. Several channels are set up so each team can have privacy. Also, admins are available through Teamspeak, so if you have a problem, just pop into the Request Admin channel and let them know. Please note that this channel is for Admins, and players needing Admin help, so we ask you not to sit in the channel if you don't need our help. I keep helping bambies out and getting sniped for it.. So now there is no more trust because people are just KOS and if they don't its a trap to snipe you. All there is for those People in this game right now is PVP.. They don't want to test and try new things they are just bored and want to kill people. Until there is bases and vehicles to pimp out, I will not trust anyone. I imagine everyone one else does the same.. except the people that just want to kill people.. The rest will just hide from you or try to avoid you. If you see someone your most likely getting shot.

Theese are the scripts/addons I want on my server: - Auto-refuel - Street and house lights (I have Day&Night Cycle) - Take clothes (Take clothings like ghillie suits of dead bodies.) - Self Bloodbag (Only in hospitals/hospital tents if possible) - Admin tools, so I can edit, place vehicles, Tp players, and do stuff like that ingame. - Intro music, I can send you a music file. - Heli lift / towing - Intro credits, with server name, and such. ZOMBIES.NU is one of the oldest DayZ communities known for its hardcore community and extreme performance servers. Tansien has been one of the big contributors to DayZ and is known for his own competetive DayZ-branch known as DayZero. We at Zombies.nu now want to bring the same type of experience and know-how into Epoch, and thus we are hosting our own Epoch server, with plans to include some of the great features of DayZero (lots and lots of enterable buildings). As with DayZero our goal is hardcore, thus competetive DayZ play is best here. What we need now is your help to build this server up activity wise. That's where you come in. :) Our main features: Extreme Server Performance (NO LAG) - you WILL be surprised Hardcore community with a very skilled player base Custom server unique content and future plans to add even more! As well as (in line with our mentality): NO SAFEZONES OR GODMODE AREAS, we expect and want players to NEVER feel safe - we have custom trader towns which offer some protection from surroundings though - Side Channel [ For new players, while we are hardcore, we are still friendly and want to help new players - ENGLISH ONLY IN SIDECHANNEL ] - Balanced economy [ Very different from Vanilla Epoch, things that make you a lot of money will be harder to get a hold of ] - Custom loot tables [ This is balanced all the time, the general idea is that to get the good stuff you have to work hard for it ] - Custom vehicle spawns ( 500+ vehicles spawn, no armed wheeled vehicles (they can be purchased for rich survivors though) we like hardcore, but we don't like running 80% of the playtime) - Custom Codelock code Change ( The codelocks will be a lot tougher to crack if there are few players online, risk vs. reward-thinking ) - Cinder/Metal supertough (millions of hitpoints) - We believe in destructible bases, but that you should really have to bring some firepower to bring walls down - AI Mission system with custom drops ( We have a custom version of Wicked AI running on our base, it has been heavily optimized and DOES NOT LAG) - UN/IKEA/PIRATE/MEDICAL drops ( We also have custom drops for new survivors with maps, expect players to fight over these as they contain essentials for building bases & surviving) - Crashsites ( Regular crash sites are found here and there, like in regular DayZ) - Third Person enabled (For ease of building bases) - No peripheral dots. - No crosshair. - Realistic Day/night cycle. - based on SWEDISH TIME To play on this server you have to WHITELIST, this basically means that you have to sigh up on our forums and register your GUID to your profile. The dev team have a known schedule and they are working to it (from what we can tell at the moment) and we don't want to have them fuck it up because a couple of people don't like walking so much. Has nobody thought for a second that vehicles would take a hell of a lot of time walking just to find one and get the parts to run it before they could use it to haul their lazy asses across the map via every petrol station in it? However reasons to explore the new map for the people who know it upside down and back to front already are important. New loot is important. If there is only one thing that everyone has focused on that we could do with out, Vehicles would be that thing. -

Ideally an anti material rifle should be too prohibitively rare and fire ammo so rare that using it against players should be considered madness, saving it only for knocking out vehicles and such. However that won't happen in DayZ because with hackers, dupers and hoppers we'll always end up with people camped on hilltops with hundreds of rounds of 50cal shooting up everything they see. If they implement an anti-material rifle, I think the accuracy will have to be fairly poor compared to smaller caliber DMRs to balance it out. -

Dat hive economy. There will be 1,000 of these rifles in the loot tables tops. And the ammo will be impossible to find. Make it unshoulderable while wearing a backpack and you've got a very well balanced weapon. The fear of losing it will make players not use it unless absolutely necessary (vehicles). It will also keep them off of the coast. But before they implement the hive economy they need to address the duping epidemic
