Good thing he is adding shit to an unfinished game that has no value or use in game besides for being a unique and special snowflake instead of fixing things such as oh you know, Combat logging,Server hopping,Zombies no cliping through buildings,Vehicles,guns,More items that actually do something besides pain your gun pink. you keep buying the whole " hurrr durr its alpha he's allowed to do that" just because its an unfinished game doesnt mean he should skip all the basic fundamentals of the game such as being able to store gear -

For the DayZ mod or standalone? Because you cannot spawn in vehicles or gear, and it is his server he has the right to kick anyone anytime. He's just a sore loser, don't go back to that server than. -

So glad rocket is adding Important things to the game that make a huge game breaking change instead of little things that isn't needed because that would be silly. Seriously why bother adding trivial things such as spray paint. Ok cool,i understand making home made bombs which is a pretty cool thing to be able to makeshift bombs,Ammo and weapons in general but why not work on shit that actually builds a community and allows people to actually enjoy the game such as you know hmmmm maybe adding ways to store items you know those normally pointy/dome shaped things that you camp in. Spray paint : Change your Nagant from perfect wood to pink : Purpose = Show you're retarded and should never own a vintage gun in real life. Storage : Store items and give people purpose going north and scavenging gear and being able to save items, Lowering people killing noobies on the shore, more threats in land. Honestly there is no reason to play this game at the moment besides for playing with a few friends " Which still has no real Longevity to the game", Killing fresh spawns for shits and giggles because lets face it why go in land when you can get pimped at Bolota and have no way to store gear inland. And or im sure a lot of peoples favourite Stream Sniping. While yes this is an alpha you have to remember that this game took 2 years to make and it has probably 15% more things than ArmA 2 DayZ, "While this part i am not entirely 100% on" People say it is a Modified ArmA 2 Engine Or ArmA 3 engine. As a paying customer i have every right to bitch about a game as you don't go to a restaurant order a medium rare steak and get a well done one and not have the right to complain. Which that said i enjoy the game as a whole and it shows much promise with the rate of patches and content but why do we get half arsed patches with content that impacts the game very little to not at all, Spray painting guns sure but how about adding stuff such as vehicles, tents, more than 2 guns. TL:DR Stop praising rocket for doing half arsed patches with little to no real impact on the game if you keep doing this you are saying to rocket " Yes we enjoy no real content, Please give me more useless shit". -

You obviously never played the mod. Literally 99% of the servers were: ( 900 Vehicles)(Spawn with M4A1 SD) (Self BB)(AI)(Donater Bases) Those servers were 24/7 KoS. You seem to think this will reduce KoS. You are an idiot. This will allow someone to run around kill, and die, with ABSOLUTELY NO CONSEQUENCES What do you think they will do? There will be NO rp There will be NO point in playing There WILL be fuck loads of dead bodies at your feet. As for the "Majority" playing on "Classical" servers, thats BS. People will buy the game to play 24/7 TDM (Which DayZ is horrible for) and get bored after a week and cry on the forums, wanting their $ back. Or, they'll get a .50 (Which i'll assume you want added) and shoot everyone. But no worries, they just respawn with everything! :D -
I've seen so many different opinions of what would make DayZ a perfect survival game, that the best solution might be making everything optional? And by that I mean giving servers the ability to adjust (when restarted): + Health of players + Amount of zombies + Speed of zombies + Health of zombies + FOV (and field of hear(?)) of zombies + Amount of loot + Spawn rate of loot + Type of loot (amount of military loot, amount of firearms equipment overall, amount of food, vehicles etc.) + Day/Night cycle + Etc. (?) These could all be visible and filtered when searching for a suitable server. So instead of bothering the developers with balance issues, why not let the server admins do it?

I also have a GTX 690 and its a great card. But only 1 of the gpu's is working for Dayz so it runs pretty crap at 2560x1600. Either nvidia or dayz need to get that sorted. While they slowly update Dayz SA maybe try Arma 3 - Breaking Point mod. Both gpu's run close to max, get smooth 60fps and BP has lots of guns, vehicles, tents, zombies etc :) -

I do not believe we will see any vehicles for at-least 4-6 months. Even Bicycles.

I don't think there has been any date released on when these things will be added. I've heard rumors however of them debating even adding helicopters or not. What I think they would do, and hope, is adding bikes relatively soon and more vehicles to follow in toe.

So I played solely 1st Person Servers the whole day today and my thoughts are

once they add vehicles you'll also realize you cant look around as good as you could in real life. for example in helis you cant look down off the to side as you could in real life.. same with vehicles and such. If they could make the view more realistic, i'd be fine with it. -
This x1000. Encumbrance would be awesome. Just make values for weight carried, make it impact speed, and assign weight to everything. I'd love for weight to be a factor. Frankly, I think everything should have a weight value, and there should be a limit to what anyone can carry. This would force hard decisions on all of us. Let's say full speed with < 10KG, and then decrease speed by increments from there. It would really make a lot of the carrying shit moot. Slots would be more important, in terms of space in inventory. Wanna carry two primaries? Sure, as long as you have space. But you know what? You can't run very fast with two guns, etc. I'd like for this to take effect before vehicles are introduced. I always found running around with a coyote backpack with engine parts, a couple of spare tires, scrap metal, and a full 20L jerry can to be rather humorous.

Bad news for all you Guba lovers - the name Guba is actually the name of the bay close to the few buildings that will (probably) become Svetloyarsk in the next patch. I personally was really suprised by Dolina yesterday, been walking around in Chernarus since the days we were still waiting for vehicles in the mod (granted, have stopped playing for a while until alpha) and never quite got to seeing that place, always ended up going via Staroye in that area. Anyway, I really liked the quaint small town on the top of the hill with great views. Thinking about settling down there and maybe grow some crops on the surrounding open fields, protecting what I've got by shooting Bambi's running up the hill from Solnichny.

Instead of making a lot of threads about one thing here is a list of my suggestions *Will Be Updated Randomly* Some of this may have been mentioned before but this is a compilation remember! Terrain- Caves (have found a few but they aren't really caves) Rivers More Dense Forests Snowy Mountains in the North! (give me a reason to want cold gear!) More large islands (think about Utes off the east coast) Some more flatland's down south (add canals for irrigation, and water travel) Gameplay- More Crafting abilities using what we already have (i.e. Burlap Sack and Sand for sandbags/Wraping guns in burlap) More immersion (some radios in houses can have batteries in them/can be turned on to hear broadcasts telling the story of what happened) More player activated noises, the damn twigs in the woods that snap should be animal/player activated Foraging/Hunting/Fishing/Cannibalism Barricading Houses Clan system (just maybe a way to organize your people in-game) Pinning a note to someones chest after they are dead (with a nail) (maybe even when they are detained 0.o) Making bases and all of that good jazz Only getting wood by actually hitting a tree with an axe of any sorts, thus making noise Only way to keep a weapon on your back is with a sling Ability to take two long firearms instead of a melee and a long gun 9I wouldn't use it as I like my fireaxe :P) Towing boats with a trailer and a vehicle "Crafting" Vehicles (meaning taking parts out of a lot of vehicles around the map to make a vehicle) Fortifying vehicles with armor made out of scraps of metal and stuff Pulling materials off of pre-placed buildings (possible?) Reloading Ammo Making gunpowder out of Saltpeter, Charcoal, and Sulfur Make Bullets/Casings with Molds and metal (Im lost on getting primers, maybe have them spawn in gun shops or something?) Ability to craft clothing Players body comes back as a Zombie NO MORE RUINGING GEAR WHEN I KILL PEOPLE (DAMN YOU DEAN) :) Make Gump Running (look at avatar) normal running style (obviously a joke) Items- Barges (not large (think of a ferry) but something that can carry vehicles using the attachTo command to attach to the deck of it (could work for helicopters) Craft-able Raft Craft-able Canoe Pontoons to make docks for bases Static weapons with no ammo at military bases (ammo could be found but VERY rare)(For people to fortify their clan bases, think of a emplaced DshKm or AT gun) Ability to pack up inflatable rafts or boats (motors would be separate) Ultra Light Aircraft (helicopters) Hang Gliders More Weapons (duh) More types of clothing (think loose clothing for more concealment (Vasiley Tzitsev in Enemy At the Gates comes to mind) -Dusters/Cowboy Hats/Belts/Cowboy Boots/Face Bandanas/Hip Holsters (wanna Clint Eastwood this shit(Obviously a joke(but would be cool to have this stuff) Ability to craft clan patches (maybe cloth and a sewing kit? *using squad.xml of course) Kevlar Vests(stop up to 5.56) and Plate Carries (plate found separately) that stop up to 7.62x39 MOAR HATS AND MASKS Muzzle-loaders/Black Powder Weapons Craft-able Hanging Rope SWORDZ (More like machettes but whatevs if they add eastern-euro replicas)

I have been to every location mentioned here, and I met three friendly players (two new spawns), and not a single soul since then. Literally, where are people? We need to up the server pop a lot, given that there are currently no vehicles, I cannot find anyone semmingly!? I swear, I sat an hour in Berezino reading Alice in wonderland, and noone gave a shite...spawn where you want, it is depressing if you are trying to be a medic for people who ARE NOT THERE... -
The concept of the helicopter crash sites in the original mod was great in that it added a randomized variable to the game world that rewarded players for exploring the environment on their own accord instead of mindlessly following a map. I feel that this concept should be expanded further in a smaller form factor through randomized survivor corpses. -- When a server starts up/restarts, a good number of survivor corpses will be placed all throughout the game world. These corpses can be found in or around anywhere that loot can be normally found, such as houses in towns and cities, fire stations, military barracks, markets, so on and so forth. -- The loot you find on a corpse will be reminiscent to the environment the corpse is located in or around, and the loot will typically consist of some of the better possible items you could find in that environment. A corpse found in a small town may have a small backpack filled with canned food and water, minor equipment, additional clothing and possibly a civilian weapon; a corpse found near a military site may have a larger backpack, an assault vest, bulkier clothing, rare equipment, an ammunition box and possibly a military-grade weapon. -- Examining a survivor corpse and taking their loot into context can tell how this survivor met their ultimate fate. An emaciated corpse with empty cans of food and water probably died of starvation; a bloodied corpse with gunshot wounds to the back and a journal entry depicting an uneasy relationship with another survivor could point to a betrayal of trust. -- The "flies surrounding a corpse" sound effect from the original mod could be implemented again as a means of more easily locating a nearby survivor corpse that would otherwise be concealed by the environment. -- Not all corpses will be face down on the ground. Some can be slouched back into a chair, huddled up in a corner, leaning over a table or counter, found within vehicles, or have been torn asunder by the infected. -- These corpses will be more common than helicopter crash sites, but still relatively uncommon. You may find one of these survivor corpses in every other town, and usually one or two in each given city. These corpses will serve the same functionality of helicopter crash sites, but on a smaller form factor. These would promote the more extensive exploration of one's environment in order to find and reap the benefits of loot found on these corpses, and the more unique characteristics of each corpse and how they passed can help add an additional layer of immersion and dread to the game world. This all may sound redundant in comparison to the survivor corpses of actual players, but I feel this would better help promote the exploration of areas where players aren't as likely to explore/die within themselves.

So what's the problem? If you don't like a certain "encouraged" playstyle, go elsewhere. From what I can tell if it'll be (a bit) like the mod, individual servers will branch out more eventually, given private hives and later rule enforcement. Currently, no one can enforce any custom rules. So these servers basically encourage a certain gamestyle. If they do kick for breaking custom rules, you can report the servers. But it's mostly pointless to start yet another debate about what playstyle people like or how one should play the game. People could argue that servers (at least in mod) that give every new spawn full mil gear and weapons plus vehicles is also stupid, but if some people like it and if they have their private hive ... -
The Mod at the moment has more content and is more stable than Standalone. The Mod is free which requires you to buy Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation arrowhead, you can get Arma 2 and Operation arrowhead from the Humble Bundle this week as it's bohemia's sale for their games. Get it cheap there instead of steam :) https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly Standalone is a while of being stable to play with content, it doesn't even have vehicles yet. Both are amazing but i prefer Mod at the moment in terms of Content

Only way to respect that and pay back the generosity is to do the same when you are fully kitted. Always think single players can decide on the spot to try and trust another player but from what Ive seen on the streams any squad of three or four tends to play (shoot to kill without question). Is this seeming demand for kills still in the game due to lack of content probably. I think when players have more to do to survive then we might see more give and take towards each other. A team of four fully kitted have a lot to loose if Joe Blogs that has just turned up saying “Friendly” decides to take advantage so I completely understand. Shooting everyone is the easy way and I hope players and squads try for balance. Sometimes rewarding game play by helping some poor soul out and other times recognising that’s a mobile organised fire team that has one thing on its mind and need to be taken out. The map is still to sanitised being in Alpha. When it’s littered with downed Aircraft, roads with vehicles and maybe harder to survive being a new spawn with Z’ds of actual ‘threat then players I think will help each other. I guess the dream would be to see two or three individual players that have never met join up for protection for the Zombie threat never mind prowling fully kitted squads with external com’s.

Not to mention if you put so much heavy iron on a vehicle, it will become significantly slower :) (assuming it will be iron/steel, to prevent bullets from getting into the vehicle) Unless it has a beast of an engine. but lets face it, this is Chernarus hehe and most of theese vehicles would not really be able to handle a couple hundred pounds of metal on top of them. But good list, would like to see at least a handful of theese in the game, at a later stage :)

i wish they add upgrading of vehicles in the future, in zombie world i would make something like this(maybe some spikes aswell) :) you hit zombie on the road with this? no problem / no dmg to car, ofc there should be higher fuel consumption and not much off-road possibilities, as well the upgrade should be pretty hard to achieve

Bases and vehicles are in the long term plans. No way they will be implemented by the end of January. It will definitely be sometime this year. Each of those components is a huge undertaking.
