i try and surivive, kill zombies and just adventure around, im not here for a deathmatch, i just literally don't see any point in killing people in this game. After i spawn and play for maybe an hour or two i am back to having guns, ammo, food etc.. what is the point of shooting some guy with gear half as good as yours or even worse a brand new spawn? there is no k/d in here, there is no point system for kills, i just don't get it, it's supposed to be the people surviving against zombies, in this game the zombies might as well not be there, because all you have to worry about is people laying in bushes sniping. This game at this point strongly resemble how GTA IV played online, without vehicles tho. -
AFGaming's DayZ Epoch Chernarus Server is a brand new server with a fresh map! That means unlocked vehicles and loot will be on the map and not taken yet by greedy bandits! We have roaming AI that will drive around in cars they find, fly in helicopters they find, or fun around on foot for an extra challenge for well equipped players! The missions on our server have custom loot boxes that players will want to fight for. Our traders have added items, vehicles, and guns in them! We will soon have a custom map which will allow more practical places for players to loot such as Zelenogorsk(Military's final stand). We will be adding in cool stuff like this as we can! I think everyone being able to do everything exactly the same isn't helping to create a living world. I feel like we should all be different in terms of our skills. The things we were prior to the apocalypse should shape who we are during it. I think this variation can be accomplished with a specialization system, but instead of acquiring these skills through repetition of actions, we should design our characters before spawning. We would get a number of skill points to divide among the different skill sets. These would be set for the entire life of your character, never changing, never improving. The important part of a system like this would be good balance between the skill sets. For example, if we got 10 skill points to use, it would require 6 points in one skill to (top out &) become a specialist. So you would only be able to specialize in one skill. It would also allow someone to be a jack of all trades and not specialize in any one skill, but have a bit of skill in each. Skill sets -Weapons -Medical -Bushcraft -Mechanical -Culinary -Athletic -Pilot/operator -Explosives Specializing in a skill set should give you advanced abilities not available to non-specialists. For example, only a medical specialist would be able to perform blood transfusions. But, once the blood has been taken and crafted into an IV bag, he could then give it to anyone to use. Similarly, a bushcraft specialist could take some sticks and rope and craft a bow drill to start fires. A non-specialist wouldn't be able to craft this item, but would still be able to use one. This way, specialists can offer services(or be kidnapped and used) to non-specialists in exchange for something. Gaining a few points in a skill would simply increase your abilities in that area. For example, some points in weapons might increase your accuracy. Points in medical might speed up your speed while doing medical procedures. Pilot skill might let you fly a helicopter, while somebody with no points in that skill can't even power it up. Athletic skill would perhaps increase your stamina and melee strength. Other ways this system could effect your character is by changing your initial spawning load out. Being a pilot specialist might give you the option of spawning in a flight suit and helmet for example. A mechanical specialist might get overalls & gloves, maybe even a wrench. Weapon specialist gets some military clothing. You get the idea. Some ability ideas for each skill.... -Weapons Ability to repair weapons back to pristine condition.(Compared to worn for regulars) -Medical Ability to perform advanced medical procedures.(Surgery, transfusions) -Bushcraft Ability to craft various survival(and comfort) items in the wilderness. -Mechanical Ability to fully repair vehicles or use advanced machines(power up factory and use the lathe for example) -Culinary Ability to craft advanced meals using regular food items. -Athletic Ability to sprint faster, for longer, and swing melee weapons harder. -Pilot/operator Ability to fly air vehicles and see damage indicators. -Explosives Ability to craft explosives. These are just some ideas I had for abilities and skill sets. I'm completely open to criticism, I'm more interested in the system than the actual abilities or skills.

Want to Start a Server or Need Help Adding Scripts?? - LOOK NO FURTHER!

Hi, I'm writing you to see if you can help me here. A friend has a server, but seems like many vehicles in the server are like glitched. Some spawn like god mode, you cannot destroy them, some cars would just explode by themselves when driving. Some vehicles leak fuel even though they are fully repaired. Is there any way to debug the server? Or like do a defrag or something like that? How would we be able to fix all the vehicle issues in the server? Thanks! -
Server is Officially up Gold Only Deploy Bike Tow/Lift Self BB You start with a Whinnie Toolbox and map plus the regs Wicked Ai (Tough Ai but the rewards are plentiful M110's mk17 SD m249 scoped Helis and Trucks plus some missions even have a brief or 2) Custom Map Additions(Cherno Barracks, Custom Balota, Berezino, AI Towns,NW/NE and Traders) Custom Vehicles Including the Bell/PookGunship and Merlin Anti theft and God Mode Traders No plot Pole Required Extremely Active Admins at least one on every night. I ahve my skype liked to my phone and if there are not any admins is on people can message me and I will do my best to get it sorted out. Most of us are current or ex military who love to game hence why we named our server after The Surge in Iraq. We have a player base at night right now of 7-10 players and are looking to grow.We are open to suggestion and the server is for the players and we understand that. In the next 2-3 days this is what we plan to have accomplished Added city to Kamenka, Install 2 more firestations or barracks, Building Snapping, More Guns. More Vehicles! Pretty much going through the Infistar list and deciding what aren't to op and what would actually add a fun element. Well when the settlement stuff and cars are implemented (settlement idk about really just heard about) you can try to make a sprawling little village somewhere, or as me and a friend did on a server in the mod collect as many vehicles as possible, i mean we collected like 10 or more (long time ago i dont remember exactly) i mean we had gotten a bus the hippy van an escalade some cars and even got the big cargo van. -

There is no endgame content at the moment. Nothing to do but run around the map, try out the new items and survive. Once we have hunting, crafting, base building and vehicles, we will have a reason to try and stay alive. Only two things should separate our in game characters and they are player skill and gear. Those of us that have already stayed alive for a long time don't need any more advantages over those that haven't.

Our server just started up a week ago and its open to all! We need Respectful PvPers! The rules of the server are as followed: Be respectful of your fellow players. No complaining about loss of items/gear in Side chat. Base raiding is allowed because it is a PvP server but No blowing up LOCKED vehicles. No glitching/hacking of any sort.Most importantly have fun! Evetually they will get the camps and vehicles and hopefully random crash spawns with loot in the game then that will be the goal for most people right now not much to do but kit up and patrol the coast when they get the crashes in the game it will give people a reason to go north and find loot and fight.Right now the #1 goal in the game is to see just how long you can survive.

I walk inland and find there is no loot, no zombies, no nothing... The other thing is there are no people inland and walking is tedious, we need vehicles ASAP! SA is very broken, this whole server structure was meant to fix problems, it has just created more and made the game worse. -

You Missed One! Vehicles are not spawning loot anymore! They stopped at the same time as the tents. -
There's hardly any as it is besides the M4. As long as there arent any ridiculous things like .50 cal rifles or machine guns or grenade launchers.. things that average people wouldn't have a clue how to use effectively anyway. Maybe an M240 or something , it would make sense that something like that would be around. If this scenario played out the army would eventually be overrun by the infection and there would be deployed military weapons and vehicles all over the damn place. I thought the amount of stuff in the mod was a bit much, but the SA seems a little more subdued. Anyway, to the point, everyone so far was right - the AK-74 is much more likely to be encountered in this part of the world anyway and makes way more sense to exist instead of the m4 but meh, it's all good. More clothing! more backpacks! I want the ability to bury and stash stuff for later use.

I am looking forward to vehicles. It is very annoying to run everywhere, especially since your character never gets tired. But if he got tired, then the game would be annoying since it takes forever to get anywhere! -
I haven't gone back to the MOD, I'm guessing for the same reasons you like it. For me there are too many vehicles / guns in the mod. It has become just another action game rather than survival - I'm VERY happy with the current state of the SA, I do want there to be vehicles, I want there to be guns. But I don't want for them to be something that EVERYONE has. edit - I could stand for either, lowering the spawn rate of primary weapons in the SA, or increasing the variety so finding ammo for your weapon is hard without trading.

I did the same. I drop into the SA a lot but get bored very quickly. The mod just offers.....well.....more at the moment. Its got basebuilding, vehicles, loads more guns and loot in general. Dont get me wrong...i love the SA and i know at some point it will surpass the mod in every way, the food drink system already makes the mod's feel simple and old. But for now il be spending most of my play time on the mod, until the SA gets more.....beef :) -
At first I was going to make a snarky comment about "Without the 1000 vehicles or spawn loadouts" but then I thought better of it. However I do like the "Ironman" mode idea in the sense that if you make a character on the "Ironman" hive and die, you're not allowed to make another character for 24 hours.

Here's what I want when vehicles are put in. The ability to play your own music on the car radios. You can do this in APB Reloaded, so really the DayZ debs could just implement a similar system. Just drag the desired MP3's into a "music" folder in the game files. Would make driving interesting and.... YES IMAGINE A PARTY BUS DRIVING AROUND THE MAP PLEASE ROCKET LOOK AT THE POSSIBILITIES.... *ahem* like I was saying, it would add a very eerie, personal feeling to the game. Either way , decent post
