    Seriously, they "just started working on vehicles" ?

    Man why don't we have a finished product yet? Oh yes that's right, calm down bro, they said small vehicles possibly by Christmas (bicycles yo! Technically a small vehicle) so let's all just wait and see what happens, nothing on the map worth a vehicle yet. Later there will be I'm content to wait (plus Destiny beta yo)
  2. Well, I have 2 things to say. 1: I agree that the pace is a bit slow, however you have to remember Bohemia Interactive isn't a huge studio. They have little staff, so obviously things are going to go slower. 2: I also agree vehicles should have been a bigger priority, but these guys are right. I would rather have good, working vehicles then glitch buggy ones. Once they add vehicles and fix the problems with zombies/add more zombies, this game will be damn near flawless.
  3. Well walker, well I am KIND of with you on questioning what the Devs have been doing, as I think any responsible consumer should do, I think you're taking it a bit too far. I mean they literally have to do a lot of the vehicle work from the ground up, and they have been working on a lot of other things. I mean it's like someone up there said (i am too lazy to look), the devs even said it'd be one of the last things they finish. So just chill out, find some stuff to do in-game in the mean time, and just try to be a LITTLE more patient. uuuuh....why don't you want vehicles? just curious.
  4. We all want vehicles as much as the next dayz player.. The team has been busy with other core aspects of the game such as the basic framework, first we had the modular inventory, network bubble, then later physics, navmesh, ragdoll. When they are added, Vehicles will be functionally, one of the most important aspects of DayZ, along with persistant storage, then after that Barricading. There are a million complications that slow down a development aspect such as this. How will the network bubble respond to a helicopter loading in a team of eight players all at the same time, flying into another players bubble? How will vehicles react with the newly implemented Physics engine? What significance does the Modular inventory system have for vehicles? My point here, is that these questions need to be answered long before development of vehicles even begins. That is why the development of vehicles has started so long after the launch of the Alpha back in December. This expands on to my next point: If anything I think that it is a good sign that Vehicles have recently been announced as being started. It means that many of the other behind the scenes things are nearing a close and we are ready to start seeing more functionality and content. Tents (and other persistent storage types) are being added to the game soon and that will make for a different experience. I understand the concern, I can't wait for Vehicles either, but nobody will be able to say anything other than - 'you have to just wait'. We'll be getting pretty substantial update to Stable soon, and I think this will be enough to tide many of us over for a while. Tl:DR; You have to construct a building from the bottom up, without the foundations at the bottom, the floors at the top would not exist. Other things in the Alpha development have been required to be completed in order to even let vehicles be an option at this stage.

Honestly mate i don't see the problem in them just NOW starting to work on vehicles when there was so much early game breaking shit that honestly took precedence over a freaking Pick up truck or humvee. let the devs do their job if they wanna take there time to polish something and make it perfect then freaking let them. id rather have something that works as its supposed to then some half assed piece of coding.

    Ummmmm not to sound like an asshole...... But if the game can't even let us hit a weapon hot key and be expected to work... (smashing number button to pull your sidearm)... then how in the hell can you say that adding vehicles to this game will be easy for them? Have you played DayZ yet? Have you not seen all of the core problems? Nothing is simple for this game to work right. When I played Pong on the Atari 30 years ago as a little baby, the controls were 100 times more responsive. What world do you live in?

    No. I agree with you. What I was saying is that if zombie problems were really a priority to the company, they would have been fixed by now. Just my opinion so I can of course be wrong. But I agree with you that it would be better to fix core before vehicles. Thank you for the good points.

    Ok, You have a good point there. I don want them to fix the zombie clipping first. So I agree. Thank you for adding a good point. The desync and zombie glitching and all the client side problems are the first big ass problems. I agree. So maybe they can't work on vehicles until the other stuff is fixes. I rest my question now.
  12. Because vehicles were NEVER the main priority. Id rather they get everything else down first before working on that crap.
  13. I don't see it as a problem since it's still early in the development phase, this is as expected. Starting on vehicles seems to be appropriate and we don't really know when we expect to see them but I would like it if they took their time to make it perfect. Comparing to Arma 2, it was very clunky, buggy(especially ATV's), and plenty of other issues that can go on.

    That's pretty freaking convenient if we just all of a sudden don't want vehicles..... The dev team must love people like you. No one said we need 100 Heli's and 100 cars on restart. And besides, what the hell have they been working on all this time if not vehicles? We have seen very little core progress. Are you not at least curious what they have been working on in terms of core? In a real world scenario...... There would be working vehicles. Why do you want a fake survival game with no vehicles?
  15. i dont want vehicles... they have also stated that vehicles will be one of the last things they do.... Glad they are not spinning their wheels on that but are instead adding a host of other new features

    360/One controller not recognized in game

    Hmmm strange arma 2 arma 3 and dayz all had xbox360 controller support but it seems since last update it no longer recognizes a controller(well atleast not a 360 wireless one). I would upvote the bug i put on the tracker as it is a bug as game is listed as partial controller support(360 controller) its actually very easy to play this game via a controller for me i always found the best result was to use the games own inbuilt profile for it and then adding the other functions onto it via xpadder( made moving around so much smoother the transition form walk run sprint being merely push further on the thumb stick much smoother and more practical than hiting shift and doubleW. It seems the mouse acceleration has been changed but for a long time with the totally fucked negative acceleration Dayz had it was actually easier to aim with a controller than a mouse ( doesnt seem that way anymore though ) Yes i play dayz with a controller why because i play in my lounge sitting my old ass in my leather recliner chair kick back relax and watch it up on a 75 inch samsung 3d 200 htz tv, also once vehicles come in the controller makes piloting a chopper driving a car way better than keyboard and mouse and anyone trying to say other wise would be an idiot.(seriously for infantry controller K@M is better but for vehicles the controller is vastly better) I was always willing to loose the small amount in infantry fighting as it is generally CQB fights where you suffer with the lack of aiming speed a mouse has but then as most of my engagements are at distance via stealth it never troubled me much lol. EDIT damn checking the steam page again they have now removed the partial controller support seems it has been intentional back to K@B for me then damn it all going to hate when they put helicopters and cars in 8(...

    1. Get the mod. Get on the server without extra added vehicles, then come back and talk. Majority of people will have to stick to running when going form place to place. What do you expect? Fully repaired vehicle next to you whenever you spawn? 2. I'm talking about the weight. Anything that offers any decent protection will mostly be made of metal plates. Chain armour takes a crapton of time to make so I don't think we have it in SA. 3. Topic title: "Craftable armour". Are you saying you can craft modern combat armour in a shed using some basic tools and materials?

  24. Hey there, fellow survivors, a few friends and I have recently rented our own server. Right now there's about a handful of us who play on this server a regular basis, with a few stragglers here and there, but we are looking to increase the population right away! REASONS TO JOIN OUR COMMUNITY: -While there's only a handful of us right now, we're active. You can almost always find at least one or two of us on throughout the day or night, depending on our schedules. -We have a Radicall server available with plenty of room for players. Think we need another channel added? Let any of us know! We are also working on getting a Teamspeak server for those of you who love Teamspeak! -We don't believe in abusing admin power. We're just regular players that want to play the game for what it was intended for. We won't push you around with server powers, even if you try to kill us in game, we are fair and dont intend to kick anyone for no reason. -Hackers unfortunately come and go on servers from time to time.     What is Persistent Storage ?

    Persistent Storage is a feature in which, a player can drop down certain storage items like Tents, or the trunks of Vehicles (In Epoch, there are also lockboxes) that would store as a safekeeping area for items. These storage compartments (like tents) could be raided and stolen from by other players, or destroyed with explosives or ran over by a vehicle (in the case of tents. Vehicles just had to be destroyed). The thing about these storages though is that, after your own player character's death, you could go back to your persistent storage (vehicle/tent) and retrieve your stored items. So, many people used it as a "dead man's switch" so that they could be re-armed extremely quickly upon death. But, tents and cars aren't marked, so you had to memorize their location. These persistent storage areas can only be accessed in the server they were used in, so you can't hop public servers or private hives and expect your stuff to be there. In public servers, you keep your inventory contents, but your tent stays on the server it was placed.
