Rocket! Please give me some feedback on my opinion on Walkie Talkies! My suggestion when they implement vehicles will make walkie talkies a vital piece of equipment. I really hope Rocket considers it. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1xj51q/suggestion_an_ambulance_that_is_more_than_just_an/ Built in Walkie Talkies in: Taxis, buses, ambulances, military vehicles, police cars. It's realistic and will give more meaning to frequencies as well as putting an emphasis on finding a walkie talkie. Most of all, it would be a fucking blast to play a medic/taxi driver/peace-keeping force as end game. Think about having you and your buddies team up as medics with an ambulance. You could have another group as overwatch/protection with a HMMWV or something. You get a distress call that someone is shot with broken legs at Stary. Your group takes off, sending the HMWWV ahead to clear the way of the bandits. They call it in clear and you move to the wounded, only to find out the bandits have a bead on you and your team. Huge firefight, the bandits win and take the Ambulance, and continue to get distress calls through the Ambulance Walkie. Now word has to be put out that bandits have compromised the Medical Response Unit and a message is broadcasted to KoS the ambulance until it's recovered. This is what I dream of. Jesus Christ just think about what could happen with a MEDEVAC chopper. Sooooo much fun if they just implement Walkies into certain vehicles! Another thing you can do with Walkies is this (and I'm surprised I haven't seen a youtube video yet);use the Walkie as bait. Get two walkies, place one in the back of a hangar and get to a vantage point. Speak through the Walkie that your legs are broken or something and wait for someone to run into the hangar. Now you can rob them at gunpoint without ever putting yourself in danger. So many ideas with these things when you think about it!

Welcome to Disturbed Gaming !!!RULES!!! Our new server is up and looking for players! Right now we have about 15 active daily players but we hope to see more active players. We like to think like shopkeepers think: player is always right. Our admins are active and there is at least one online almost all the time. We are there to help players but we also do play like every other player. The only exception is that we never shoot on sight not even bandits. We are all heros and like to play like heros are supposed to. We don't have any specific "admin bases". We build our own bases like the other players do. On most servers the admins are the welthiest players and they got the biggest bases but we don't. We like to play with other players but we never give them any privileges. As the owner I have zero tolerance for admin abuse. I hope that everyone reports me if someone abuses hes powers. I try to keep my eyes on the admin log all the time and have removed most of the "abusive" powers from my admins. The admins all do have experince on server administration. We don't only want finnish players to join. We'd like to see players from multiple countries. Most of the players on our old servers have been from all around the Europe which is great! We accept any language in the chat as long as it's not spamming! Tow&Heli Lift non-locked vehicles - Tow/Lift is a great way to collect and sell new vehicles. On some servers people get frustrated when someone steals their bought vehicle by lifting it with a heli through the roof. We don't have this problem! On our server you can only tow/lift non-locked vehicles! Self-Bloodbagging - Tired of requesting blood all the time? Got killed by someone who was supposed to give you blood? On our server you can give blood to yourself without wortying. This is a great addon for lone-wolfs! Multi Character - On our server you can have three different characters. This basically means that you can have one in Stary, one in Bash and one in Klen and you can switch between them on the lobby. There are still some "anti-abuse" things. 1. The characters can't be closer than 1000m from each other and 2. You can switch to one character every 30 minutes. Refuel/Repair/Rearm Stations - Most server provide only auto refueling script which lets you refuel your car on a refuel station. We provide more! On DEF you can also reapir and even rearm your vehicle on refuel stations. This is a new thing but people seem to like it. Keep in mind that not everything is free. You can refuel your vehicle for free but repairing and rearming will cost you some gold. This is for balancing so that people can't just go and get ammo for their vehicles! God Mode/Anti-Theft Traders - There is nothing as annoying as getting killed while visiting the traders. Some server have god mode activated but there are still noobs stealing from backpacks. We use a script that prevents all this. When entering a trader city it automatically toggles god-mode and anti-theft on! AI Missions with Ikea- Want to play hero but still kill something? Our AI missions include good gear and humanity for kills! There are several different types of missions and we aim to add even more! These are a great way to make money and get humanity! Snap Building - We all know it's annoying when you have to spend multiple minutes to match two floors or walls together. Our toggleable snap building does this all for you. If you don't like it you can toggle it off anytime in-game. Take Clothes - You can remove clothes from dead players and AI's. This won't just switch your clothes with the dead player/AI. It will add the clothe to your inventory. Custom Trader Items - Want to buy something unique and different? Tired of all the basic stuff that traders sell? We have added multiple custom items to traders which players can buy. You can also give us your suggestions if you think something is missing or you'd like to see something different. Custom Map - Our Chernarus server has custom militry ourposts with AI's. The outposts have multiple barracks and the AI's also use decent gear. We also have a custom airfield and some small map addons like more barracks etc. Craft a Bike - We all know it's frustrating to run from Kamneka to Stary. Sometimes you might get killed a couple of times while running. Now you don't have to run anymore. You can just simply right click your Toolbox and choose "Craft a Bike". This will obviously craft a bike which you can use to get to north quickly. Extra Vehicles and Custom Starting Gear - It's annoying to spawn and notice that you have basically nothing. Our starting gear inclused all the basic items you need (food, drink, map etc.). We also have 600+ vehicles. Extra goods for our sweet donators - Full info can be found from our website. Basically we have custom supply boxes which includes building materials. We also have several custom starting loadouts. As mentioned before full info can be found from the website We are offering custom starting packages for clans. The clan has to have a minimum of 4 players. After moving to a new server with better hardware we are now able to handle larger player numbers. We are therefore looking for new players again. Server is now running 1.4.0.2(a). Some of our newer features: -Tow & Lift -Cannibalism -Corpse Burying -More AI Missions. -Added/custom vehicles (H13, MGs on biplanes etc.) -Building snapping. Hello everyone! New here and as most new people do...probably posting under the wrong category... Anyway two questions for the smarter people out here... First question; when I alt-e and edit a map, lets say.....place a building somewhere on the NEAF.. I save the mission (after placing the markers Ect Ect), load the game and there the building is... Cool... Well here is the problem... Lets say I go back into the arma2 editor and load the mission I just saved... Well the building is no longer where I placed it... So I put something else next to it, save it and test it.... But while in the game, both buildings from both saves are there, glitched into one another... So my question is.. How in the hell can I delete a building that isn't showing up in the map,editor?? Or better yet, how can I just delete my map and start over? Thank you in advance. Second question... Say I want to use pwnzors server, or any other server pack.... How do I interface into the server? By interface I mean use something like dayzcc's interface where I can start/stop the server, spawn vehicles, look at the server map Ect Ect... What programs do I use for this? Hey DayZ staff and anyone elts reading! First off, I am new to the forums and I LOVE the standalone. But I have a few questions that I have had in my mind for a long time, so I just want to hit these right off the bat: 1. Will Ghillie Suits and/or other camouflaged clothes be added? 2. Will Crossbows/Bows be added? 3. Are helicopters a large priority right now, or vehicles in general? 4. I have had some strange status messages, like "I feel blood" and "It feels like lava when I pee", I have no idea what it means and there is nothing on Google, help? (And yes, I have taken antibiotics, twice, messages are now less common). 5. Any new guns we can see being put into the game soon? 6. Will we be able to build barb-wire fences and walls like in the mod? 7. In relation to Q1, any new clothes being added? I hope these questions can be answered, I would also like to say that Mr. Hall, I know that you will continue working with the DayZ staff for the rest of the year, but I would like to say that this is an outstanding game, you should be proud of yourself and your staff, for this to be a game in Alpha, it is well rounded and polished before its initial release. dont see why people are complaining about new clothing, clothing is already in the game, adding more is alot simpler than adding a whole new feature or mechanic like vehicles or base building. im sure when vehicles do get released you wont be complaining about a new car added every week personally i like the mix of big and small feautres/items being added each week, gives us something new while we wait for the big stuff -

I agree with OP to an extent. Im definatly not saying dont put them in, but i think zombie count would be priority as far as server load is concerned. My thoughts would be as follows ( remember just talkin server load) 1. Get zombie count up (yes they are broke and will be fixed in due time, but again just server load here) 2. Add in persistent storage objects (tents, backpacks, or whatever else) 3. Hunting (Game animals like the MOD) 4. Basic crafting (bow/arrows, spears, backpacks, etc) 5. Maybe vehicles 6. Barricading buildings 7. then if servers can still handle things, add in the companions, preditory animals, more detailed crafting, and other extras ONLY after the core elements are in gameand the servers can still handle the load. Again this is just my 2 cents. I dont have a problem with them putting in whatever they want, I just dont want them to get carried away to quickly. What would you rather have? Roaming zombie hoards or stray dogs to tame? Both would be ideal but servers can only hold so much. Stuff it full sure, but how much is gonna be full? and lets be honest with ourselves here. We all can make an argument for horses or whatever (GO Unicycle!!!) if we wanted, but who thinks horses right after you think survival or dayZ -
Did they fix the long loading time and give ability to pick spawn point?

It's fine I didn't understand half of that post... :P But surely, we all get the point. The game is about PERMADEATH. Anything that will help you to be certain about something (like knowing that if I die I can easily spawn in Balota and quickly gear up) will destroy that uncertainty feeling. You died when you were hanging out with your friends? What a shame. And it is your punishment for not being careful enough - that random spawn, that running to be with them again. It's all about this game is. Oh, and no, they haven't fixed tents yet and there are still no vehicles in game. -

Its almost like game development takes time or something. The people adding new clothing items aren't necessarily the same people rewriting parts of the engine to allow for vehicles and persistent storage areas. Wait until the game reaches near 1.0 status before complaining about "missing features." -
Well, a lot of games have flaws, with exploits and such, the exploit here is you can shoot a person and reap the reward, while in most games its punishable, this it isn't, and my friend and I are game developers as well, we made a simple box game with collision and a few more things in the core of the game, then we just started adding for a week, its basically a finished product, its flaw is its really boring to play a game where you just walk around as a box pressing buttons. and these people are TRAINED, and know what their doing, we only know by experience, while they know like 1000% more then us, and they have a TEAM as well, and rocket is one of them, and hes saying eventually he'll depart, and start a new road on a better game, in 10 months we'll have vehicles, zombies will be fixed, zombies more deadly, way more weapons to go with, building bases, and even more you can dream about. I don't know what rocket's role is in the group, but he's been adding little things here and there, telling it on twitter, he probably manages money, his worker's work time, news letters, interviews, community responses, he could be a total dick and just say nothing, not even touch the community, or tell us what's going on, like some sort of mindless machine, but I don't think he's a mindless robot.

Hello, Does anyone know if since the steam release, there has been a growth in the amount of developers that work on the game? I've been asking myself this for a while after reading some of the update logs. I'm fully aware that i bought an alpha version of the game and that it is nowhere near the end product but I couldn't stop wondering how long it would actually take before the more crucial and fun features are in the game. Obviously most of the features of the DayZ Mod are wanted by the community and I feel like it's going to be a really, really long road before we get to see this game actually be playable in the long run. Vehicles as in cars, helicopters, boats, base building as in houses, garages, tents and more landmarks on the map I feel like are atleast a year or two away from fully in there. I as a massive dayZ fan, unfornately can't wait this long. Surely it is up to debate if some of these features should even be in the actual game because I suppose that wasn't the way DayZ was played at first but come on, is anyone this patient enough? The reason why I ask this is because no doubt the Alpha has been very succesfull so far and I've been asking myself every now and then if the developers are actually using all their possible resources. I've read that atleast 5 million of dollar was made on steam in the 24hrs of the game launch. I fully understand that before steam resources were scarce and that you couldn't hire more people but wouldn't it be very simple to just add more developers to the team to speed up production time and put out more updates? Then before I created this account, I read a topic about the lead developer leaving the team at the end of the year? Very odd. I couldn't read up on any of this by myself, please do tell if they actually did increase in size of the development team to a necassary number. I've been reading up on the more recent updates, while I'm perfectly satisfied with the new mechanics and bugfixes and new items, I don't feel like it will make me continue to play the game in the long run. I've personally enjoyed the Origins mod alot and I would love to see the game get into that direction aswell to some extend. Basebuilding and such, factions that you can create and all that came with it. I hope alot of community support will be able to succeed in this if lets say the developers have other plans. How do you guys feel about this? Surely there are alot of dedicated people out there who will just enjoy the alpha fine and they are patient enough, but really this long? I'm really excited to see how the SA will turn out to be in the upcoming months, I just hope that the developers and the studio can do this as quick as possible with all the bug testing that comes along. I don't understand, why are they adding so much usless staff and nothing which they wrote in the upcoming futures like vehicles, more guns, place constructing etc??? For what the heck should I do with all this hats and pants if I can't store all that shit anyware? 3 months are gone, and I didn't see any significant futures added to the game which can somehow motivate me to play this game... I bought it a month ago, played like 2 days with my friend, got all the staff and got borring because where is nothing to do with. Bring us something we can play with, and then add all this textures, vilages updates and other stylistic things! From what I saw, people with mods do more then a developers team... -

9 months and 5 days. The game still has broken zombies, invisible walls, hackers, no respawning loot, no optimisation (lol), no vehicles, no fire, no animals, no tents. Alls we get to see are cosmetic things and hats. Him leaving is insulting and you know it. -

Rocket, if your gonna leave at the end of the year, please PLEASE pump out the vehicles and weapons, on an 85 sq mile map, no one wants to walk everywhere, barely no-one ever goes inland, just to airfields and such, please get some vehicles soon! -
it is because a spawn in just one area is too monotonous. i wouldn't say that here isn't any trouble on the airfield or airstrips but it's not that much and the main heat is at the coast area. vehicles may make players more movable but i think the coast as a hot spot will stay. a distribution of the spawnpoints all over the map with random entrances would make the whole map more livelier because you won't have these or this area where all the players spawn with equal chances to get the same loot asap.

Losing all your stuff upon dying!!!!! I don't want to invest hours just to lose it to some jerk or clan members trolling a server. That is the biggest fault and issue with this game. I dont want to lose all my shit... !!!! Here me ... Fix that.. I don't want vehicles or anything... that is all pointless if we spend hours getting it just to lose it... Because of that I haven't played in a while. Though I am interested in the concept and idea. This kills it for me.. Why invest time into something that you cant show anything for, or can be all taken away in a second.
