I have never played the DayZ mod, so I don't know to what extent the player-made addons to the mod has affected it. My guess is that some servers would disable PvP, others would disable zombies, and of course, loot whoring and vehicles galore. -

Lets not even fight with the ignorant (you know who you are ) and instead ignore them , for people like that are only looking for attention ... If not then why would they say another game is better (arma 3 dayz breaking point) but yet spend all their time not playing that game but instead spend it complaining about a game that is supposedly "worse"? Get real heads if you like arma 3 dayz mod that much, go play it, don't bitch about how it has so much that standalone doesn't , which in a years time (probably less) the standalone will have vehicles , storage , barricades , throwing physics , higher player counts AND restarting loot (word by dean ~ two months ago , he said from that date that roughly 8 months from then all this would be included ). Ya there's a reason why Arma 3 Dayz breaking point mod was hardly heard about , not because it's in beta but because it , unlike standalone , threw everything it had to show in at the start , almost completely destroying its potential . For people who can't understand my stoned lingo , I'm saying there's not much more to be seen from arma 3 breaking point mod , it will just give us more guns more vehicles and stay within its "mod" boundaries . Dayz (standalone) has no limits and has clearly created a whole new direction , let alone genre of pc games( and I'm not talking about the dayz mod , it truly never felt like a survival game ). yes it's bare bones now (no vehicles, storage , fire , hunting , barricades , base building, no physics yet) , but all of the pieces are Falling into place. Some People can't realize that games like Arma 3 dayz mod are just a shadow of another game and no matter how popular , it will always be abandoned at some point for something greater. That's what standalone had done : broken off into something greater (although all dayz original mods haven't been abandoned YET), so please 12 y/o's and terrible teenagers alike, stop shitting your pants and return to the sandbox (not dayz , like the sandbox at the playground ) and stay there for another year , when you come back I'm sure this game will be for you then , seein as the only thing you people look for is content new content content I want content ...(this game's human encounters are more exciting then some games END CONTENT). And for those of you who don't fall under the category of raging twelve year olds and terrible teenagers that still believe standalone is going too slow or is a ripoff : I'm sorry that life is unfair but there were plenty of warnings about bugginess and slow progress of transition to beta , so realize that dayz has given us what there never has been : a beautiful open world survival zombie game that's both multiplayer and pay by month free , I know that's not much to some people but you should learn to count your blessings cuz one day(z) were all gonna be dead . Quote me c**ts how could you possibly make a rebuttal to that truthishness ? -

At the end, all the players want is 10000 AS50 + 12312312 vehicles servers. Last 2 months of the mod I almost stopped playing due to lack of vanilla servers. -
Come join NDA's server that includes loads of ai mission's with intelligent ai that have a dead on shot and will even try to flank you. The reward is great and the risk even greater. You can find the custom areas of that map at kamenka, Cherno, NW airfield, NE airfield, and stary trader center.Vehicles are all over the map and we have medium strength armed vehicles such as BTR's, Jackals, and etc. (no tanks, attack helicopters, or jets). Missions vary from weapon caches, NATO weapon caches, bandit medical outpost, medical outpost, Plane cargo drops and crashes, and many others. We plan to add many more cities and military like areas around the map to create a more interesting Chernarus experience. With a toolbox on spawn you are able to get going right away with the toolbox to bike script. The load out consists of a G17, cooked meat, water bottle, painkillers and morphine, toolbox, map, hatchet, and flashlight. It's easy to gear up and get going which makes for a more enjoyable experience Spread the word and help us get this server started! No plot pole required for building. You can buy a evac chopper for your base that will pick you up off the coast or wherever you happen to be. You know something else you need to take care of, other than hunger and thirst? NOT DYING FROM BEING RAPED TO DEATH BY ZOMBIES in the FUCKING ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. That should be the focus of the game, zombies, not fucking radiation [and the planned scope of the game is very large already, including hunting, foraging, base building, traps, crafting, vehicles on top of everything else; the devs don't need more to work on]. I'm in agreement with So Sexy. If it gets done, this should be made a dedicated Chernobyl world map, an entire different world with its own servers in the vein of Takistan.

you maybe not played it recently it gets updated alot mostly not hats! core features already in vehicles, guns the works cutsom maps uses same engine tweaked. cost is free. atlas life and free mods on arma 3 light years ahead of this mod now. there is nothing better in standalone at all. graphics arnt content isnt so they add cars vehicles they already in the mods. its a losing battle. -
Dean hasn't somehow forgotten all of those features between making the mod and going across to the Stand Alone. I'm sure most of the mod and the best bits of the mods mods will make an appearance within SA given time. If vehicles won't be in for at least 4 more months you can get a vague idea of the time scale here! SA isn't going to be complete for a while, the warning message that appears everytime you start the game makes that pretty clear.

Well everything you expect from survival in todays world. Vehicles (obviously fuel would have to be limited), being able to build bases so I don't always have to risk spawning into camper noobs who geared up via server hopping and where I can stockpile supplies. Sticks, a wide spread resource that shouldn't be confined to isolated rare spawns. Better sounds because right now you can hear fences being knocked, guns reloading, cans popping and food eating and cannot tell where its coming from. The person might not even be anywhere near. Cutting out the fake noises too.. Go on a dead server and you can still hear people drinking and reloading ammo etc. Better interaction from players. Of all the people I've met only two have not killed me. If this were real survival most people would not kill on sight even if law and order had broken down. Please do not take me for a whiner. I'm just asking what more to expect in regards to what the full game might offer and it follows the trend of the arma mod version with the above mentioned base building and resource gathering then that is cool. By the way I'm not slating the game, this the first die/start over game I've played and am pretty addicted. Also, hopefully in future they will put a system in place that stops dead server gearing up, then there wont be as many newb spawn campers.

I do, however, think it's important that we are all able to notice the difference between constructive criticism and blatant complaining or whining. There's a pretty thick line separating the two. If it wasn't for the latter, no one would ever need to yell out "Alpha". More often than not, I see threads created in anger or disgust and are subsequently filled with negative remarks, swearing, and nothing particularly constructive. These threads are not helpful in any way and no one is going to want to reply to them in a thoughtful manner if the OP wasn't able to create a thoughtful thread to begin with. In regards to this thread, I'm not really sure how it helps progression even if it's not particularly negative. The recent progress has been rather slow, but we've been told this is due to a few major bugs that are particularly hard to pin down and iron out. We KNOW that we will soon have a physics engine, hunting, cooking, and will later have more advanced features such as vehicles and base building. Many of these systems are being completely reworked for the standalone and that requires more time and will introduce the possibility of more intrusive bugs which in turn take even more time to iron out. TL;DR - I don't find this thread constructive. -

Well you might be right, but I don't recall reading "Update every Week" whilst buying the Alpha. Now, speking in general: You know, being an Alpha Tester, a Beta tester OR both, has ALWAYS been like this. By ages. The point is, recent game "development" have brought us to think it differently, in the worse case. Alpha & Beta phases are expected to last 1, at maximus 2 months, and that's the most wrong thing to do. Nowadays Alpha and Beta phases are seen like a way to let people buy games earlier. Like Battlefield's "BUY THE GAME NOW TO ACCESS TO THE EXCLUSIVE(!!! OMG !!!) BETA AND "PLAY"* EARLY." - * = get a game still full of bugs, buy all the DLC's and PREMIUM PACKAGES while we try to solve this mess in the meantime." Yeah that's how they scum you. They make you feel special, and you give them your money earlier. And you know what? They've already won. People have gotten accostumed to this marketing mechanics. Well guess what? DayZ's ALPHA is a REAL ALPHA. They don't make you feel special. They put a FUCKING GIANT SIGN on steam, basically saying this: "We are DAMN far away from the game to be released, we're in deep shit and we cannot afford this project to fail, so please help us buying the game and stick with us in the process. Mind tho that, as we are BLATANTLY saying, the game actually SUCKS, it's full of horrific bugs, lack of content, and it'll take a huge load of time before you can ride your frigging car, smashing zombies and shooting from the windscreens." Didn't see ANYBODY else do this. If isn't this honesty... What people read of this? "Yayyyyy i can shoot people in da face from atop the Elektro TEC building while pissing on the zombies head, and pretend updates every 10 days 'cos I've spent my money on this." You want this, you want that, you want more guns, you want Vehicles, you want permastorage. Yeah that's OK! And that's what we'll get. But honestly, this are all BETA things. ALPHA things should be still more core system things. (Or did you honestly believed that the release was after the end of the ALPHA phase? Neener neener neener, there's BETA! Deal with it!) Alpha phase should be meant to test things that are NOT fun to play. Stability and such. But hey, my 8th model of Assault Rifle is more important, right? 'Cos I have to look cool while killing players, 'cos I'm a tough guy! [sarcasm mode: OFF] Having sold all this much just in ALPHA phase is the real CANCER to this game. We players are the Cancer, and we don't even realize it. We want things, we want it FAST, we have forgot what it means to WAIT. So we ask for vehicles 'cos we want to have fun, we don't want to test games. We don't have the time, right? "Why they lose time making hats, WHERE'S MY TENT?!?!?!" Well guess what, tents, like vehicles, barricades, and such other things need a thing called "Physich". That's what they're focusing their effort on, that's why we still don't see the result of this work. Putting models of clothes in the game is a thing that a SINGLE guy can do. Building a Physic engine from scratch is NONE. You guys must learn to take a few step back and take a larger look at the picture. Just cos something has priority, doesn't mean it will be the first thing to see birth while making a game. So to cut it shortly, what I'm trying to say is: Don't fucking take part, WORSE BUY a game that is in it's ALPHA state if you can't bear to have patience, or can't even bear to risk seeing the whole project undergo heavy postponement or even failing. That's just how things go. There are thousands of zombie-slaughter based-games out there you can play, so if you have or want to SPEND your time on this game, do it by supporting it instead of pointing your Nutella's wrapped finger screaming "Breaking Point is much better than this" or "RUST destroys the shit out of DayZ" or even "They scammed us they just wanted our money". You're the DUMBFUCK who clicked "buy" on Steam, nobody forced you to do it. It's nobody's fault that you couldn't wait, in a sea swarmed by zombie games like nowadays. I know it's alpha and such and music and sound effects in later versions will/ can make a hell of a difference regarding the creep-factor. That being said, I personally don't feel threatened by the environment at all, running/ sneaking around more feels like being on a hiking trip during the holidays: clear blue sky, the sun is shining, backpack full of tuna and water. The grass looks like freshly mown and just recently fertilized. You can have a nice overview over the area most of the times. Everything just looks so neat, "polished" and tidy and feels more like you're in some kind of holiday resort rather than in the wilderness. Cities and houses look like there just have been people in it 10 minutes ago and they cleaned up everything before they left. I'd love to see a bit more chaos, especially in the cities, scrap vehicles in the middle of the road, dumpsters on the roads...this wouldn't only grant some additional cover and hence would add a higher variety for tactical approaches it would look more real, more threatening too, the city would look more abandoned. All houses/ fronts look just too tidy, I'd love to see more crashed windows, stuff sprayed to the walls, maybe burned down houses and stuff like that. Is the environment actually destroyable or planned to be so? If not, wouldn't it make sense to implement this if possible? Maybe this would be an option for dynamic content on the maps, so areas change a bit on server-restart and never look the same. The whole atmosphere is not threatening at all for me, I don't feel like I'm left alone in a desperate situation, I don't feel hopeless, I'm not scared, thrilled or paranoid. I know this game is not a single player and doesn't have any super creepy supernatural animals or mutants in it, but I'd love to be a bit more challenged when wandering around as in: the grass, bushes, vegetation would make it harder to have a real overview over the area and you wouldn't have any idea what or who you'll run into in the next Moment or minutes. I want areas and situation less clear, manageable, less predictable. I wouldn't want to run around in a fully grown jungle but things should look a bit more abandoned and like wildernes.

yes you can expect it with every death unless u run with a group and considering whether they get killed too they would guard your body till you could return. but when full game is complete I'm sure we will have tents or vehicles to store things which you can then horde or stockpile gear then you just regear there really quickly no the downside to that is if someone finds your stash then your back to square one. but yeah if you don't like looting or gearin up which is my favorite part of the game then your in for a long and painful journey goodluck.
