    We have to wait and see but I kinda trust, that the new vehicles will be done differently and better then in mod. Will be happy times to search for vehicle, then spend hours to get parts for fixing it and then go out in a blaze of fire.... I remember, back in a mod, when I heard a car I scrambled to hide in a bush or under a tree. Holding my trusty weapon in sweaty pals...thinking if I should spray the car or not....something simillar as with hearing the chopper flying about.

  7. So there was this link a couple months back where it sent me to a twitch highlight with rocket doing a q&a. Among a lot of things, the question about whether or not cars were going to take very long to be implemented was asked, and someone guessed at summer being the earliest. He replied saying with confidence that summer was a very conservative estimate and said spring would be a good guess. Well seeing as survival isn't even in yet, I am going to guess that vehicles probably won't be coming out until like winter. I assume summer will just bring the hunting/surviving update and fall will be more fixes hopefully, then winter will be more features. It is sad to see this game coming along slowly, but hey, after dealing with planetside 2 since launch; (gave up on that late 2013, side note I found out the continent they promised a year ago is still not out.). I think it is safe to say dayz hasn't gotten that bad yet, but honestly with the almost complete shut down of experimental servers (they are never up to my knowledge), as well as the fact that no real changes or fixes are happening (zombies still ignore physics, the only thing to do is just run/loot/shoot, no depth.) I am starting to think the game is not living up to what it could be. Yes you could say the re spawning zombies is a step in the right direction. But honestly that is about the only real sign of progress i have seen in almost 6 months. BTW guns, more trees, buildings. ARE NOT features, if this game is in ALPHA, we should be seeing more of the core features of the game being made. More guns and items and such are the extra stuff they can add any time. So ya, to me this SA is just looking like a reskinned mod with all those simple additions WHICH IS WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT DOING. And made it explicitly clear that that is the reason SA wasn't out a year ago. Personally I think BI just soaked up the money from the hype and is now just half assing the project to ensure as high a profit margin as possible. BUT HEY, that is just my thoughts.

  9. Introduction Thanks for checking out our thread. DayZcraft is a newly launched community founded around previous groups playing on the old BSB Network clan servers. After months of playing on various well populated public servers (and endless heartache after experiences and disappointments of poor administration, hacking problems and general poor conduct!) we decided to formalise our various groups into one single public community comprised of many individuals, clans and groups all centred around balanced gaming with transparent and fair administration. As a community we're made up of adult gamers (30s, 40's and olders!!!) who have supported DayZ since the very beginning. We have experienced admins and limited access moderators to reduce accusations of admin abuse etc. We welcome all mature and fair players who are cap able of following basic common sense rules. We're based largely in the UK and surrounding EU countries and all speak English and all love a bit of good natured banter as we play! What We Offer We offer a community that is deducted to DayZ and associated mods. Our selling point is our fair play and common sense. Initially the community is geared heavily around Epoch, providing two established Epoch servers that are open to the public and a free public Teamspeak 3 server for comms. We also offer a website for bugs/player reporting and public chat etc. We plan to expand our server support (and invite other adult and respectable server admins to become a part of our community) and also expand into other "flavours" of Day Z and associated mods sucha s Stand alone, Breaking Point, A3 2017 and Epoch A3.   11. Vehicles and storage are coming. The number of weapons is limited because they're still working on them. I'm quite sure that in the final release there will be a lot of weapons to choose from. There will never be "missions" in true DayZ - if you wan't that crap go play Epoch. Chernarus is clearly a very rural county, and if you've ever been out in the country in the Eastern Europe, you'd find it's not too dissimilar. Again, no NPCs. This isn't an MMO. Or WarZ/Survivor Infestation Stories (LOL). More buildings will probably be added and combat logging + ghosting is easily fixed by preventing someone from joining a different server let's say 5 minutes after they just logged out or something - yeah awkward for legit players, but what can you do. You have to remember this isn't a final release, so most of your expectations are very unrealistic of an alpha.
  12. its amazing to see the amount of people that get amped up and excited about the smallest little bs updates. crossbows,vomiting,new coats and pants. its honestly a joke. such small little updates that dont mean anything. a game of this caliber has so much potential but i feel like it will never get there seeing how its been this long already. what it needs - vehicles, wide variety. i want shit to break and i want it to take time and patience to have to fix certain issues with vehicles. not some bs like click of the mouse with a "repair kit".. make changing a wheel/tire a 15 minute deal not including running out and scavenging for one (if you can find it with the right lug pattern) gas also needs to be pretty scarce. -weapons, a huge array of weapons. and random features that arent on every gun. afterall thats what you would find in real life if you were raiding hundreds of houses for guns. not the assortment thats currently in game. m4's and acog's? really? an acog isnt a common optic at all. game needs ak's, semi and auto, rare 9mm pistols, lots of shotguns(most common gun in households), rifles with messed up parts that you have to source out. the whole "ruined, damaged,worn, and pristine" is a joke if you ask me. 22 cal rifles and pellet guns should be alot more available than a ak or m4. ammo. alot more scarce. at one point my buddy had over 1000 rounds of 5.56 on him. and that was just within a couple hours of playing. does anyone really think in real life you would just find that much ammo spread across your journey in a 2-3 hour time span? -base building, have certain servers be locked in for your base setup, and some just be server to server. can you imagine having a portion of the ship wreck for your base? or aviation tower at a airbase? possibility of real time gameplay thats always live. when your offline and not playing, your character is in your base sleeping in your bed. and could be raided anytime and have all your gear looted and be killed(stronger base setup the better). -different mission types/mods. think of a battle royale type mod on arma 3 ,60 player server where you and a crew of 2-5 people spawn inside a house and it would be just like it would be right when shit hit the fan. it would probably be hectic, mabey group up with the neighbors or go solo. all depends on the house you start in, some weapons might be in the house and mabey your out of luck. pack up all your gear and food and dip out or camp it out while the bandits do their thing. -weapon spawns and gear in more realistic spawns rather than just on the f'n ground. why cant i search through some cabinets for canned food? or under matresses for guns. or safes inside a house that have to be opened with a massive tire iron or torches or whatever the hell else you can think of. -no ghosting in on people, period. if your in a 5v5 fire fight and someone spawns inside your building that your holding down and kills half of you its pretty lame. sure you can hear the load in sound but anything can happen. i dont think you should be able to log into a server if someone else is within a certain distance. 20 feet and under? -more buildings and less open field. probably about 70% of chernarus is literally just open fields or trees, where pvp or confrontations RARLEY even happens. more city type enviroments would be nice -servers that are years ahead of others in terms of civilization. trading area controlled by npc's or players?, buy stuff or trade items with other players. gas, food, ammo, clothing etc. dedicated safezones, and not safe zones like warz where people just sit outside with snipers and kill everyone. possibly be able to just spawn in somewhere out of the safezone where you choose, mabey just one or two spawns out of safe zones per hour? i could probably think of alot more stuff but this is just what came up first. and i know what the majority of people are going to say to this is. "ITS IN ALPHA". yeah thats fine and dandy but i can almost guarantee you that this game will never be anything amazing. just look at the updates they are coming out with right now. throwing things,coats, binoculars,crossbows, and dont forget!! YOU CAN USE A CAN OPENER AS A WEAPON NOW!!!!!wooohoo isnt that cool?!?! such garbage updates its not even funny. didnt they sell like 2 million copies of this game? whats that about 60 million dollars? now sure thats not all profit. advertising,paying devs's, more advertising, testing shit, buying computers and mass amounts of other hardware, rental spaces and whatever else, those were just some random things i thought about when developing a game. im sure it goes very far in depth and i would have no idea about any of it. but i think its safe to say they are in the positive right? yeah i think they are WELL ahead... so why cant some shit be done on this game? probably because they got their money already and are ready to dip out. oddly enough, seeing how much i just talked shit about this game. i still like it alot and still play it. just wish it went alot more in depth

    What dayz could have been without zombies

    .... You do realize that that is what would happen in real life, right? In my hypothetical Day Z scenario, there would be a lot of loot, but it wouldn't respawn. Then, the playerbase realizes that loot isn't respawning. All they have is the building blocks of the cities they stripped clean, and some books they found while looting. Chemistry texts, machinery guides, agriculture handbooks,. An idea begins to form... People would band together in towns so they wouldn't starve to death, because the server was picked clean of "raw" loot months ago. With those towns, come industry. People would work as farmers, trading crops for clothing, or a recognized currency. Someone might work in a factory, producing goods.. A town might specialize in, say, ammunition production, trading finished ammunition with other towns in return for other goods, like food, clothing, or raw materials. Those goods are traded by players who act as merchants, being vetted by each community as a person that is trustworthy. Each merchant runs a caravan (maybe vehicles, maybe carried on the backs of porters), and hires guards to protect their caravans from bandits, those murderers living in the hinterlands that ambush caravans, or even raid and burn small towns if powerful enough. These bandit groups could trade their ill-begotten goods with other towns for cash, or use it themselves. In order to protect themselves from these bandit gangs, towns might band together, unofficially or officially. New nations might form, and wage war between themselves for supplies, arable land, geographic features (river crossings and mountain passes are excellent places to control as they can charge a tax for passing through), or just for dominance. Behind and above all of this, roam those wanderers, those brave who who risk life (and worse, infection) to travel into the cities of the old world to look for untapped reserves of raw materials, the machines that let us live like kings instead of scrabbling in the dirt. The ruins would be a nexus of living death, absolutely crawling with it's former residents, and the scavengers would have to work together to find the best loot to bring back to whomever pays the best...... Hey, at least it gives a much better justification for PvP. Instead of randomly fuckmurdering everyone in Berezino, you could be from rival scanvenger-bands, competing over the untapped loot. Or, you could be a member of a city-state militia, fighting over new farming land. Or, you could be a bandit, waging war on the caravans and city-states for fun and profit. Your choice, play a game where shooting people (and bragging to their corpse) is the name of the game and survival is an afterthought, or play an actual social experiment?

    I don't like the idea of using it as a no killing people marker. I prefer the idea of a "Hey, I'm not a douche and I'm not gonna shoot you" marker. But not to be followed religiously. I love the idea of a UN style clan, especially after we get tents and vehicles, that wear the UN gear. I have been drawing up plans for this the past few days, actually. EDIT: It would by no means be a Hero clan, but they would have Hero ideals. They would want to help other players and keep things orderly. But they would have no problems engaging other players, especially bandits

    I do think it may eventually be alright for some sort of tracked vehicle. Definitely unarmed (or with a GPMG), definitely rare, definitely difficult to repair, and definitely fuel inefficient. I really think that people need to take a step back and actually analyze what made things like tanks/APCs and helicopters "overpowered" in the mod(s). Because they aren't objects that are conceptually incompatible with DayZ as a game. Plus, I wouldn't mind if the majority of the seats were on the exposed roof. The way I feel about tanks in DayZ, is that they should be used as movable cover. Pure and simple. I don't see any issue with having a lumbering, armored, vehicle in DayZ. If I were to bet money on it, I'd wager that the vanilla vehicles will end up being teacups in terms of armor. And even if they get armor modifications, they'll be more or less the same as an APC. We know so little about vehicles in DayZ, that I don't think we can make a call one way or the other on tracked tanks or APCs.

    How important should vehicles Be in the SA?

    I never ever... ever... thought helicopters could "dominate" the map. I've been playing since April of 2012, and I've never once had an issue with a helicopter. One could take them out with small arms fire for god's sake. Or just, you know, avoid them... really... really... easily. Sure, the vehicles and tents stuck out like a sore thumb. But that's not the helicopter's fault now is it? Reading the circumstances of the mod as if they're perpetually applicable to the SA, isn't helpful.
  19. In my opinion, vehicles should be used for transportation only. In the mod we could see how a single chopper could dominate a whole server. I've played on a hive and everyones goal was the heli because the heli ment server domination. you were able to spot anything (cars, tents and player) out of the heli. But cars and bikes are needed as soon as possible!

    Soo... Should I go Mod or Standalone?

    The mod can be a great game if your fortunate to come across the right server with good admins, and for what you are looking for. many are quite the same, same 500+ vehicles, snap building etc so on and so forth. But some have like walking zombies and really good admins too (old style zombie fan so i enjoy the walking dead style servers). If i had the choice though now, i would just buy the mod and buy the standalone in about 6 months, unless you want near on pure PvP and dont mind it, with no building of any kind, no hunting and dont mind spending many hours running across a map. The standalone has very few + points over the mod as it stands now. The inventory system is better........ erm.... the graphics look better.... more character customization...... erm..... struggling.... that is all. Just keep in mind that the standalones progress is pretty much stand still at this moment in time.
  22. Vehicles are the least important thing right now. The very fundamentals of the game are either broken or downright suck. Vehicles would do nothing to fix those so its unimportant.

We are updating our servers regularly because we actually listen to what you guys want.
