  1. CCD Gaming currently have two Overpochins (Epoch, Overwatch and Origins) Servers on the Taviana and Napf maps info is below: Overpochins is a mix of Epoch, Overwatch and Origins so this adds some really nice features to standard Epoch or Overpoch that include Origins hero and bandit houses that you can sleep in, Strongholds for groups and clans and you can combine the Origins bases with Epoch building to make some really nice bases, Epoch/Origins and Overwatch vehicles and some nice AI Zones like in Origins. To play the Overpochins (Overpoch Origins) Servers you need to have Overwatch (0.2.5) and Origins (1.7.9) downloaded (you can use dayz commander to get these) and use the following Launch Parameters: -mod=@DayzOrigins;@DayzOverwatch;@dayz_epoch Just Search for ccd in Dayz Commander or Dayz Launcher We are looking for new players and clans to join us and are offering Groups of 3 or more a base building kit to get started. Murderer Status

This would never happen. The reason KoS is so rampant is because after you gear up in about 30 seconds, there is nothing left to do cept kill people. Once vehicles and bases are implemented, people will start focusing on that rather than killing off everyone.

Glory of War Napf Epoch Server

Added more missions. Always great to see an IKEA mission to get materials for one's base. Try out our perm Training grounds mission, difficult but a great payout. Now at 500 vehicles. Just moved more repaired vehicles to the main spawn points including some repaired Hueys and MI17s this morning. Great admins, but don't ask to be teleported... It is still Dayz. Plenty of site for bases open, we added a few custom ones for pubbers to move right in on.
  4. lol example: NEAF has sleeping space for how many military ? right - so how many weapons should be lying around there, after "military and government" left ? man - here where I live, every time I drive past the barracks I find military gear and weapons just lying around in heaps - but they have sleeping quarters for 800 men and its common knowledge they drop stuff all over the place IRL. Of course if they were evacuated theyd throw all their stuff away, that's what the military always do first. gimme a break [oh shit, I forgot - in real life they ALSO leave a ton shitload of armored vehicles behind. Dont that make your eyes bleed ?] why are there no zombies in this image ? ( it's the wrong game, is why )

It's getting lonely and barren in NWAF

the problem isnt respawns, it's that the actual items at NWAF arent better then those at NEAF. Mill spawn is mill spawn. why go far for something i can get close? Theres no Perisistent storage Theres no Vehicles The items in the near-coast mil bases are the same as inland. so to sumarize, going inland means when you die it's that much further to find your buddies again. no reasont o go inland. nothign special there. sorry.

Looking for Server With Friendly or No Zombies

I would want private hives to kill server hopping. But I also really don't want private hives, because they destroyed the mod. Modded servers popped up- EVERYWHERE- you couldn't just play vanilla DayZ anymore. It sucked ass, I don't want to always be playing on "US EPOCH! SELF BLOOD BAG! 50000000000 VEHICLES! MILITARY LOADOUT! NO ZOMBIES! AI MISSIONS! VEHICLE TOWING! SAFEZONES!!!!!!!!"

Always ask yourself what server you're playing on. Hints are "1000 vehicles, spawn with Military Gear" - which 90% of these servers are these days. :(
  9. Hi, I play on your FR34 server and I really like it, but just today I got on and all of the vehicles at my camp are gone, including the camonet and tent. It might have just all gotten stolen, but it was a lot of stuff and unlikely someone just waltzed in and took 4 vehicles and a bunch of equipment.

    Surviving Day 1 in DayZ

Awesome man! Glad to hear you enjoyed the videos.. Some of the later ones are much better than the first few as I improved on my editing a lot. Check out some of the later ones, or even some of the DayZ mod ones if you're interested. I've been playing with Kossuth and Hoff Suppressant for over a year now, and we're a pretty solid crew in DayZ Vanilla. Right now the PVP is the main focus of most people in DayZ SA because there's no vehicles and the zeds aren't nearly as scary as they were in the mod.. Plus in the mod, there's a lot of other things to worry about like infection and such.. Those types of medical conditions/debuffs really force cooperation. Not saying the mod is "better", because I'm sure all of that stuff is coming to DayZ SA in the near future; but it definitely foreshadows what SA will become eventually.

Removing spawns is making this game bad

While I'm with you on "random" inland spawns, some of your justification is a bit skewed. In reference to it being "numerically pointless" you have to look at the statistics a bit further. Now let's just say you wanted to spawn near NWAF. Near is the key as while it's difficult to get that exact one spot you want, near something can be a large area. I personally would be happy just in the NW quadrant. With that in mind we'll cut the map into its 4 quadrants, and say you have the same number of possible spawns in each (even though NW would probably have more given terrain) making the chance of spawning in one of them vs the other the same, or out of 100%, a 25% chance. So then you spawn it and you end up in the SE. Keeping in my NWAF is your primary goal, you can make the long run or suicide. If you suicide there, you have a 25% of ending up in about the same place and a 75% chance of being closer to your goal, 25% of which is where you wanted to be. Logic dictates suicide is a viable option in terms of getting you where you want the fasted. Then we'll say you spawn in SW or NE. It's not too bad of a run, but if you feel like suiciding, you only have a 25% chance of being further away than you are. 50% will put you in about the same distance, and you have a 25% of getting even closer. Still a viable option for those wanted to get there as quickly as possible if suicide can be quick. Point is the math doesn't support you. Now we could have different things put in place to prevent suicide for spawn placement or at least make it a pain to do, but look past that and think of why things are they way there are now. People don't hang out in Berezino/NEAF/Svelto just because it's uber awesome amazing. They hang out there because it's close and the loot is decent. They don't travel inland because in terms of loot there's nothing considerably better that is worth the trip. (I'm leaving PvPers and socialites out of this as they just go where the people go) We of course know this and have discussed it, and exclusive loot, vehicles, camps, yada yada. Now, what would happen if spawns were exclusively around NWAF or Zeleno? Would people put on their hiking shoes and head out to Berezino, NEAF, or Svelto on a regular basis? I say no, for the same reason mentioned above. The loot wouldn't be worth the trip. If you look at Zeleno and the nearby mil base specifically, it has the same amount of comparable loot in a smaller area than the NE coastline. The point is, hotspots are hotspots right now because they're close and the loot is the same. There won't be any "map flow" unless there's specialized loot in specific areas (like hospitals in the mod) or exclusively loot in one area (Certain mil loot in barracks in the mod). If you need an example of this, look at the release of SA. Even though everything was all new and awesome, 90% of the players stayed in Balota, Cherno, and Elektro, 9% ventured to NWAF, and the last 1% went to the ghost town of Berezino for funzies. Random spawns across the map wouldn't hurt much in the current state of the game, but I'm not sure if anything should be done now though. As I stated before spawns are they way they are now for testing purposes, and we don't know enough about future plans for loot mechanics and balance to decide the endgame spawn system.

    1.8.1 thoughts?

Well, just to clarify, my response to Ransurian was in regards to his idea that you should be able to kill multiple zombies without taking a single hit. When you take it that far, what's the point of the zombies? To be honest, though, I think the game's configurable spirit has been detrimental to the spirit DayZ itself. Certainly there are variables that can and should be accessed by server admins such as timezone, 1st/3rd person, crosshairs, but the ability to change every aspect of the game in a way that makes it much more akin to Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty has really destroyed the reputation of DayZ, which started out as an unforgiving hardcore zombie apocalypse survival game. I think all the radical changes should have been left to mods like Overwatch and Epoch rather than allowed on private hives. Remember, DayZ was labeled the anti-game. It's meant to be unforgiving and present a significant challenge. That all went out the window the moment that private hive hosts started the campaign to dominate player population by adding tons of vehicles and weapons, getting rid of night time, etc. You mentioned a couple times that things shouldn't be forced on players, but the very nature of a "hardcore" requires that you force things upon players. What if someone could go up to an old Pac-Man arcade machine and push a button that makes it so that Pac-Man can always eat the ghosts when he runs into them? Was there a setting in Super Mario Brothers that allowed Mario to start with fireballs? Look at the success of the Dark Souls series. Would Ghosts 'n Goblins or Castlevania have the reputation they have if there was a super-easy-mode option at the start menu? I know, I know, open world sandbox multiplayer games are different than arcade or console games, but I feel that DayZ lost it's claim to being a hardcore survival game when servers started altering all the settings. Again, I think other mods are the place for easier settings. By all means, go ahead and create a mod with all the custom settings you want. Nobody has a problem with that. I'm not being ignorant or arrogant, I just loved the entire idea of DayZ back when it was a level playing field across all servers, and I think the game has become compromised by all the changes people have made to it. I'm not really sure why anyone would pick this game up and be upset that it's "too hard". It's billed as a hardcore survival game. Do people pick up Need for Speed and complain that the cars drive too fast? Do they pick up Hello Kitty Loving Life With Friends and say it should be less cute?
  14. While i understand your comment, and agree with the most basic points of your post. Of course they wont throw their hands in the air and quit, but i do see it being way more challenging then just saying "Ok so they got this, that means we do this" without having to completely re-tool their angle. The scripting has in fact gotten much worse in the last month. Its to easy for these guys now with what they have. I just dont see how they can handle the scripting in a timely manner. They seem to have alot on their plate right now, in terms of fixing buildings with no roofs, zombie rabbits, ambient noises, wanting to streamline ammo. I just personally feel they should hunker down and knock out one thing at a time. Its been along time, so what they are doing already doesnt seem to be the most efficient. Might as well change their angles. Fix the shoddy base and stop trying to add more content in along with other towns. Why would you give me a new toy to play in a muddy sandbox with. Its just going to get lost in the sauce. Damn the bows, damn the hunting, damn the vehicles. Fix what you have now before ruining all these pipeline ideas due to shoddy build. Once again its obviously just my opinion but we have already been waiting awhile and have no problem waiting longer. The game is still selling like hotcakes at a fat camp, i would just like them to change their scope for the time being and see what they can get done when they focus on one instead of all these other ideas that in my opinion should be beta things anyways. Happy Hunting!!

  16. The Heli crashes were a great part of the mod imo, really hope this feature gets expanded upon. The way I see it, the idea of these random spawns is not 'forcing gameplay situations' but rather facilitating them. I know Rocket would rather someone shoot down a player flown helicopter and then somebody stumble across the wreckage which would be awesome but even when introduced it would be such a rare occurrence that most people wouldn't likely experience it. In the mod I found the idea of these random high level spawns a great reason to go exploring round the map not just head north. It also gave a really good use for vehicles as other than going to Cherno/AElektro for med supplies and then back north there was little reason to use them.
  17. Get Fragged! Epoch Server host/IP: DayZ.GetFragged.EU or favorite 85.12.32.142:2302 in DayZ Commander or filter “Get Fragged” When designing this server our goal was to create an environment to build a thriving community while also forging a damn good server that we ourselves would enjoy playing on. None of the admin staff enjoy playing on over militarised servers with insane amounts of loot right away as a fresh spawn, we actually want to feel a difficulty curve where getting to the endgame actually feels rewarding. But at the same time we didn't want to play on a purely hardcore vanilla experience, we wanted something in between. We feel that we've achieved that goal with the Get Fragged! server. With challenging AI’s that are able to flank, take cover and actually put up some sort of a fight vs real players; the loot gains don’t feel easily gained but are still rewarding with mission rewards ranging from a few guns, building materials or an MV-22 the loot doesn’t feel too repetitive. Scripts: Easy Refueling Trader Safe Zones Self Blood-bagging Take clothes from bodies Indestructible cinder buildings Snap building Customised, challenging AI that flank, take cover and more for you to discover! Ground vehicle towing (air towing will be added when the server is populated). Custom buildings: City west of Kamenka Russian compound North-West of NW Airfield - Balota Fire station North-East Airfield Barracks Fortified Vybor Factory Standard loadout: Patrol Pack Flares Painkillers 2 Bandages Map Flashlight Makarov PM with 1 magazine Toilet-paper for those desperate situations Additional Features: Active admins (EU/US) No over militarisation Friendly community Teamspeak : TS.GetFragged.EU (85.12.27.24) Server privately owned and located in Amsterdam on 1 Gbit. Any good epoch servers left?

Hey if any of you are still looking for a really good server come check out mine and my clans. We are a mature group of gamers, admins are active almost daily. Lots of added in scripts such as convoys, heli patrols, missions, cargo drops, and much more they are also very difficult they will flank you and are a good shot. Lag is at a minimal as well as hackers. Loads of new guns and vehicles and always adding new content. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/181202-never-die-alone-epoch-chernarusnew-comer-deals-jsrs-active-admins-militarized-ai-custom-map-lots-of-added-gunsvics-no-weight-lim-goldgem-currency/

Removing spawns is making this game bad

Stuff that encourages you to stick to one server. Base building, vehicles, loot respawning etc. Those should all help, though not solve it completely of course, but it will help. A major "legitimate" reason people hop right now is because night time sorta sucks, so making that experience more fun/interesting would be helpful as well. These are all things they're already working on. I'm sure other ideas in a similar vein could be thought up though. I just think any further penalties should pretty much be a last resort. You did mention waiting till beta at least, so hopefully most of this stuff is in by then. If it's still a huge problem and they've exhausted alternatives I suppose then it could be a good idea. I just know that it's not always black in white in issues like this, so when innocent players end up being penalized it just sorta sucks for everyone =/

Removing spawns is making this game bad

But people will still sever hop to get all the beans they want to survive easy and just continue with the get geared quickly and go to the coast and start KOS'ing bambis, sad but true....Private Hives may help a little but then all these 200+ vehicles easy survivor servers would popup and most players would choose the easymode..... I suggest we get a 1 hour timer on server switching, that would take care of most server hoping, introduce it when beta gets out because then the game should be stable enough..And never let the admins get so much power as they had in the mod, ever....

Removing spawns is making this game bad

We've had this discussion 100 times already. But some recaps: The map isn't actually that big, throwing spawns around randomly still just means people will suicide for a closer spawn to whatever the hotspot might be, say NWAF balota whatever. If I spawn in the east, but the best loot/majority of the action is in the west, I'm going to suicide regardless till I get closest to it. This greatly negates travel and map flow. Suicide isn't difficult, it's a matter of just finding a zombie or something to jump off. We don't know what base building will be like, but when it's implemented, having people randomly spawn within the vicinity of your base/tent/whatever is detrimental to the game. It was already near impossible to hide a legitimate tent in the mod, this will just make it even easier to find people's shit. It doesn't matter if they're a fresh spawn, they've just discovered the location of your stuff by complete chance, they didn't have to put any effort into it and can come back easily. Same with vehicles, if you try to hide a vehicle and some guy just ends up spawning next to it he's just gotten a free ride for no effort. Fights will be interrupted by people just spawning in "on top" of them. You can't feasibly implement a system that will spawn players far enough away from each other because again, the map isn't actually that big. You will spawn and hear fights even if you spawn 500m away or whatever. It will make grouping up even more of a pain in the ass. It shouldn't be super easy to group up, but it shouldn't take the majority of your play time to do so. Not everyone plays this game lone wolf. It just adds nothing significant. The current spawn system is actually fine. People who know the map, eventually know all of it. Any sense of disorientation will be lost quickly. You can't and more importantly shouldn't force people to explore. Assuming people don't just suicide to hot spots (let's be real, they're going to), you've got the opposite problem where everyone is so spread out that the game becomes super boring. Overall it just kills any meaningful map flow. The idea is to create points of interest and traffic, not randomly drop people at their destinations. It's like creating a maze and then dropping mice randomly through out it, some end up closer to the "goal" arbitrarily. How is that a good idea? Above all else though, the game is so incredibly incomplete right now that it's completely pointless to even touch spawns.
  22. If you have a Trackir like me it's the most immersive way to play, because I use my head too turn around ingame and that is awsome. It used too be servers with 1st person views but I guess all the people have moved on to SA or other games. But there is alot less players on 3rd person servers too, my favorite map in the mod was Namalsk and nowadays, only the 200+ vehicles, 24/7 day, selfbloodbag servers has people on them, the Namalsk server I used to play on had 3rd person, but it had rare loot, extreme cold, blodsuckers and earthquakes, nowadays there's only 1person that play on these extremely hard Namalsk servers, kinda boring playing on a server with 1guy:p. The athmospere on these Namalsk servers still scare the shit outta me, they are just so damn creepy and hard that teaming up is neccesary..too bad there is noone that plays on them anymoore:(

Removing spawns is making this game bad

The game is a sandbox and people have different priorities. My priority in dayz is to pvp, with my group. In that case, I can either run across the map, encountering very few other players, in comparison to staying in the north east region, for gear that doesn't interest me to begin with or stay put and get into multiple fights and be able to get back to my group easily so we can all play together. When there's stuff to draw more players to the mil bases, there will be more traffic and I'll gladly go pvp there instead. Vehicles will also be helpful for group play, just like the mod. Until then, I'm going to put in the least amount of effort for the maximum amount of fun, because for me that's the state of the game. There is no long term payoff without any real form of persistence in this game currently. If you like to gear up and get m4s and deck them out and get full mil gear that's a perfectly valid way to play as well, but a lot of people don't play that way, or least that isn't their priority. Many players have been playing DayZ since the mod, and in the current state of the game the main attraction for them is pvp. I'm perfectly happy killing guys with any gun that isn't an m4, so there's no reason for me to leave. Even without server hopping it's incredibly easy to gear up.
  24. Hikurac

Why DayZ is no survival game

    - (Server Hive Idea) A player joins a hive server and that is the only server he can play on until he dies. Once he dies he gets to choose another server and he cannot come back to the old server for a very long period of time (Weeks, Months, etc.) The Result: When persistent loot, barricading, and vehicles are implemented people will do whatever it takes to stay alive. They do so because dying would actually have a price. All of your progress would essentially be lost. Suddenly everyone has a reason to live through a broken leg. Nobody is willing to suicide to spawn near a friend. Firefights would create an even bigger adrenaline rush. Just going through a mid-size town would put players on edge. Constantly worrying about taking a bullet from a window somewhere. Repairing a vehicle without dying is an actual accomplishment with a reward. Tents are no longer just "re-gearing" stashes for when you die. Keeping your friends alive during battle will actually be a priority rather than just "don't worry i'll just watch the body if you die". Death would actually have a price and survival would become priority number one. Now of course the community will cry every tear it can muster up. "What will I do if I have lots of stuff and my friend dies?" Well, you either choose the progress you've made or you decide that living just isn't worth it without your friend and you suicide. Suddenly jumping off that building isn't so easy now is it? "It makes the game too hard and puts me on edge." Welcome to DayZ, the apocalypse simulator. If too many people dislike it due to the harshness, give them a choice and make it for hardcore only. It would add a lot to the game in terms of emotion and prioritizing staying alive. However it will never happen. Even if the community decided for it, I doubt the devs would ever take that risk. Hopefully one day someone will implement it on private hives or on a modded version.

    Epoch Or Vanilla?

I think I have "quit" epoch over 4 times now. Epoch is awesome, but I always get to the point where I obtain a safe, a shit load of briefcases and 50 cals and just destroy my whole arsenal, quit, and go back to vanilla. I feel like epoch is extremely repetitive and desensitizing probably due to the currency system. I always feel the urge to get as much gold as possible. It's too easy because of the loot and vehicles. People say there's no challenge in vanilla, but imo that's where THE challenge is. It's way harder in vanilla to gear up and survive long amounts of time, try and get a vehicle, and an arsenal of weapons. Not to mention now zombies are more of a challenge and deadly in 1.8.1 (although a bit broken) and also I spend less time, but more enjoyable time on vanilla. Currently awaiting 1.8.2 patch and it will be great. Vanilla gets boring too eventually, but always becomes fun again at some point. One thing I do love about epoch though are the m107's.. and that SCAR-H.. :)
