im sure the Dev team is doing other things to perfect the game. They will get to vehicles last i imagine considering there is really no real reason to put in vehicles since everyone is on the coast dying. Once there is a reason to go more inland for gear, then they will add vehicles.

I gave up on playing this game, until there is actually something to do, eg working persistent objects, vehicles etc etc.

Event Starting In 30 Minutes!!! Capture the VIP This weeks event will be Capture the VIP but with a twist. The VIP will be taken on a tour of Cherno's new Military bases. The VIP will take a set route through Cherno, the route may change if the VIP finds himself in combat but will get back on route. The VIP has some valuables in a safe towards the end of the route, only he knows the code to this safe so if he dies, you will not secure the prize. Rules: No Armoured Vehicles/Air Vehicles No Maaws Normal Combat rules apply (No special rules for Capture's of VIP) No Refunds of Gear or Humanity Route: Intel Suggest's the VIP's safe contains either gold or supplies for a new Villa. Can we PLEASE get the starting of vehicles? Is a bike too much to ask for? I'm sure everyone is just as tired as I am from running everywhere (pun intended) so PLEASE make a simple bike to use.

DLC and addons are controversial topic, it divide community into those who have dlc and those who not. But there is great solution for that! CROWD FOUNDING. You can use Kickstarter or use your own crowd founding system. Think about that: You post your project, describe all addon details and you says: we need 500 000$ for that, i think many people will simply pay for it because they love that game and will love any new high quality content :D. If somone pay more that 10$ or 20$ then he can recive gifts like t-shirts, posters etc... For example: Super Extra DayZ DLC No. 1: - new city - 4 new weapons - 3 new vehicles - 10 no clothes - 3 new skins - new and unique undeground system (caves and undeground laboratories). When you reach goal, you start working and after that you give your work to every player of DayZ! This is quite the opposite solution to typical DLC or f2p model, when player without addons or cash for item shop can't use new content. You still will earn cash and whole game still will be developed!

Yes, actually, it is an incredibly serious problem. In a game based on tension, suspense, horror, split second decisions, perception, and situation awareness, SOUND sets as much of the stage as GRAPHICS. Imagine playing any AAA title without the sound and imagine how different that game would be. Imagine competitive counter-strike/league of legends/starcraft matches where the players had ALL sound muted... It would be unthinkable. How would you feel about DayZ if you got constant visual artifacts? Random audio artifacts are no different, and it severely impacts the playability of the game. Sound/hearing is incredibly important and it is one of the major nagging issues that I hope gets sorted out.. Above vehicles, above persistent storage, above another town, more weapons, or more crafting recipes.. This "bug/glitch" has been present since the initial release of Standalone.. that's over 6 months. No graphic bug has been present that long.

Since the beginning I've pictured ambushes on rival groups' vehicles on the Northern highway with hidden explosive charges, followed by a massive gunfight. Once the systems facilitating this sort of thing are in place, I would like to make the machinima I've daydreamed about.

once vehicles get added I can see this as a place where folks get taken to get shot and with the physics they'll roll to the bottom or maybe I'm just sick.

Has Anyone Else lost Faith in Dayz?

The problem is everything else has been redone. The zombies aren't the same zombies from the mod, they've also been redone, new skeletons/models everything. Their ai just sucks right now. For cars, we've seen videos of what happens when people mod in the cars. Your character is standing in them/sticking through the roof etc. They would need to create animations/poses for those old cars, because the characters have been completely redone. How would you implement the parts system as well? Would you just not have parts, and only working vehicles? That's dull and people would complain. If you implement having to repair vehicles, you then need to put all those models into the game as well. I mean I guess they could just use the old ones, but there'd be a serious difference in quality. It's all time and resources devoted to implementing the old stuff instead of working on the new. The thing is they are redoing pretty much everything from scratch. They don't want to waste time implementing half ass systems, that they'll just have to scrap and replace. I know it gets thrown around probably too much, but it's the alpha. This isn't about the players and having a fun time unfortunately. Trust me, I totally feel ya and wish they would make some compromises to give us as testers a better experience while we wait, but then again there's still the mod for that. This stuff will come, we just need to wait, and it will be better than the mod. That's the entire point. We knew what we were getting into when we bought it early. Now if they'd just hurry up =P -

Keep in mind what I'm about to say is my own opinion and not facts. I love DayZ and I love that it started all the different survival apoclayspe genres. I played hundreds of hours on DayZ mod and SA but I am quickly losing faith in the devs and this game. The development is so slow and the engine that DayZ uses is so horrible. I looking very much further toward other upcoming games like H1Z1. Where they have things in game that DayZ won't have until the end of or even the next year. At least in H1Z1 I can look forward too massive servers supporting up and over 1000 players while DayZ can barely support 40. Vehicles and base building will all be available to me when the game is released in early access in a couple of weeks. Rather then months. If the devs want to be able to keep DayZ alive they better kick it up a notch and hire some more coders so it dosen't seem like a 1 man development team. -

We now believe we're ready to challenge the top epoch servers out there. Our server has all the mods you love, self bb, towing, custom cities, refuel and repair station ( NO AUTO REFUEL AT GAS STATIONS.....ONLY REPAIR STATION.), vehicles totally salvagable, custom building, custom traders, custom vehicles, AI, AI bases, Missions, custom cherno map, New vendors, even new locations for surplus vendors. If your looking for a place with alot of fun and a new twist on the cherno map then this is it. All the cities have new custom buildings and a great atmosphere. Very active admins who are under watch constantly to make sure they are in line with players. No more admin abuse like so many have seen on so many servers. Sick of the same vehicles? We've added tons of vehicles even static ones that you can place in your base! All rigorously tested and balanced for the best pvp and pve experience. Major events, AI base raids and so much more. High vehicle spawn count, lower zombie count. Its about having the best possible experience and truly getting a feel for being your character. Come back to cherno and let it be like the first time you played on it as so much is custom done. Great pvp and pve. This will be the server you dont leave. Just for fun one of tonights laughs.... So like most of you I was pretty excited about the 0.45 patch hitting stable servers; and like some of you I played it on experimental a while back for 3 days to experience the new content. Needless to say the experiental was rife with issues that lower the quality of the experience; the constant dysnc being the main problem; but that was fine tbh. It was experimental after all and these things are expected. I had a good time and the game felt a little closer to that Dayz magic we loved from the mod some years ago. What really disappointed me today after playing stable to experience the new content was the lack of any changes made to patch before it was released on stable servers. The dsync is still a big issue, and after 2 hours it just got to the point where I wasn't sure why I was continuing to play this game. If i didn't know any better I would assume no attempt to correct some of the known issues about the patch have been made to the content in the month or so it has been available on experimental. It's as if they knew the dsync would continue to be a game breaking issue but decided to push it on to stable servers anyway. i just don't see the logic in that. This combined with issues that have plagued the game since the mod; such as zeds spotting you when you know the really shouldn't or landing a hit on you when again you know it was an impossibility. These are problems that are over 2 years old yet here we are still experiencing them. 2 years on and im still getting hit by a zombie through the floor of the room below. Does anyone honestly believe the 2 zed issue's I just mentioned will ever be fixed? A better question would be do you believe the developers even know how to fix them? I just feel like Dayz will always feel like modules that has been glued together and will play as smoothly as something can that has been given that design approach; instead of content that fits together as a jigsaw puzzle that was designed so each piece fits together perfectly without breaking the surrounding pieces it touches. When more new content is added I now ask myself what the colateral damage will be to the entire game structure. We all know when new content/code is added to a game, it is innevitable that it will conflict with the existing material, and thus unforeseen bugs/glitches occur. I just feel that perhaps due to the nature of the the core mechanics that govern the sturcture of the game; the new pieces that are added will never truely fit. Anyone else losing faith, or do you think the game will one day run as smoothly as we hope in all the key areas; old and new? Im very worried about the impact of adding vehicles will have to quality of a already broken alpha. (p.s. - I know its alpha, please don't start with that. I want to see the game succeed in terms of critical reception as much as the rest of you and the Dayz team)

Until there are vehicles or spawns are near there, not interested. I only play this game with my friends, I don't want to run for hours to go somewhere to find them just to die to another player or something dumb like touching a ladder or falling through the wall of a house.

Sorry if I think that the roadmap looks more like persisting "arma pvp + hunger" than "story and survival of human being". I do not care about vehicles and hunting animals and wearing nice hats as long as there is no little reason to team up and build up and go against zombies and live/turn the story. Survival of human being - players, or Battlefield - players.. A mix of both simply does not make sense for either of them as you can see atm. -

Few more bad ideas: -Hot hair balloon (cant steer them :P) -Vote Kicking -1pp one only (DemonGroover started the war :P) -Night vision goggles (But think they happening) -Comb over's (thing would get to real!) -More ammo/food -Pay to win style online items store -Bling (rings and stuff, don't need the extra rendering costs) -Armoured vehicles (like tanks and APCs) -Poop/excretion system (Don't think anyone wants that, but has be brought up before) Added: Child zombies (some thing just don't need to be added)
