No aircrafts yet. All vehicles, even those outside map, hoarded etc will be reset to original location. After this patch you can still hoard vehicles. But letting them collect dust unused will cause them to wear down and eventually they will go poof and reset to original location :) Not exactly a realistic solution, but it's a workaround for people just moving vehicles to off map grid coordinates and then forgetting about them. -
No. Sorry to dissapoint' date=' but your off the world base will soon have to be relocated into the map like the rest off us. When it will happen no one knows but it will happen and thank god for that. This isn't Day Z The Hoarding Game its a survival game. Get that tail out from between your legs and stop hiding. Just because you can right now doesn't meant its right. [/quote'] It'll never happen. Thanks for sharing though ;0) Ideally it would be removed, no one can knock you for doing it now, as anyone the least bit organized is doing the same thing. Ideally though, tents can't be setup out of bounds, and vehicles can't be saved out of bounds. If you leave a vehicle out there, it despawns, and respawns in a random location. The hoarding can fundamentally ruin a server. If a crew, that likely runs the server, gets the chopper, they then use the radar to find all vehicles, then use a GPS to put all vehicles and a tent city 10x miles off the map. This server now has no vehicles, as all are hoarded in a unintended "safe zone" for infinity. Anyone who is a true gamer will admit this is at its core "lame". Argue with that.

Personally, I think there a few things that could add a lot to the game regarding the radios and other things. A lot/all of these suggestions already exist but I'd like to hear all thoughts in the same place :) (1) Radios. - 1-way radio with set stations that you can access by changing frequency, maybe an emergency broadcast type thing that could warn players of changes in the map (if more dynamic events were implemented such as zombies migrating etc.) or maybe a carefree radio DJ who has accepted that life has gone to shit and now plays old music through the radio to cheer people up (kind of like Fallout). (2) Forts that can be constructed by players. This is a suggestion that keeps popping up and I think it's a very good suggestion that can be implemented. - The general building material can be wood. Of course it would require a lot of wood but using the warfare/commander system that's already in the game I think this is very possible. Change the currency to wood and give players the ability to find blueprints. If you find wall blueprints, for example, You can build walls (maybe have different blueprints for different size walls) and if you have garage blueprints you can build a garage to park vehicles in. This brings me on to: - Blueprints Those of you familiar with the warfare mode (I believe is what it's called) the player is given the role of commander and using money gained from different acts and that other currency (I forget what it is) this player can build different buildings such as MG nests and barracks. I think this should be implemented in Day Z but for much more rudimentary structures. The player will find blueprints (rare) around the map allowing them to build different structures. Blueprints can include walls, gates, chests, garages and watchtowers (and so much more). Gates would have to have some kind of lock or keypad or something to prevent just anyone getting in (unless that's the intention). Large groups (and even very dedicated solo players) can forge their own small settlement for storing vehicles/loot etc. I also think that players should have the ability to use explosives to destroy walls and raid the camp. Adding this feature would also provide a use for the big open fields that have nothing going for them. Also I think the player should need a toolbox etc. in order to build this stuff, not just wood and blueprints. They would have to make it so players cannot log inside the fort to prevent raiders from going to a different server, logging out and logging in inside the fort and stealing all the stuff. Of course I realise this could be very difficult to implement and many variables have to taken into account but I can dream, right? I feel like the fort system could be developed into a major part of the game, allowing players to create things using equipment and wood like a large board with a map on it for other players who perhaps don't have a map to use but can't take around with them. Personally if this was in the game I'd make it my personal mission to create my own fort (being a usually solo player) and make it accessible to other players. I would have the helpful stuff there like a map and I would allow players to take from the storage. This is because I generally get a buzz from helping people but doing directly on "Day Z - shoot on sight simulator" can be a bit difficult. At the moment I spend most of my in game time looting military bases trying to get NVG and the weapons I want and because of this I end up leaving behind A LOT of other weapons and ammo/supplies. I could take these back to my storage and have my fort be a kind of oasis for players in an otherwise bleak world. The only problem I see with this is if there is a player there when I come to fill it up and they aren't exactly the trusting type. Another problem I see is if the servers get too full of these forts and people don't any space to build their own. It would probably also cause a lot of lag in the server when a player is creating a fort. (3) Change the sound system At the moment sound is calculated from the speed you are going and surface you are on. Because of this bicycles apparently make a lot of noise. I find this disappointing because once upon a time I wanted a bicycle thinking it would provide a fast but quiet mode of transportation (I'm generally a solo player and like stealth) but now I don't because of how sound works. It works pretty well when on foot but maybe they could change it for individual vehicles, so that bikes are quiet and other motorised vehicles are loud. (4) Food and drink. It really annoys me that our character can starve or die of thirst in a matter of hours. People can go days without nutrients so why is it Day Z characters die after a few hours? I don't know how well this would work but I'd much rather cans of drink were deleted from the game and tins of food were extremely rare (I'd say get rid of tins and have only cooked meat but matches are pretty rare). In my opinion empty water bottles should be pretty rare and players should be limited to 1 bottle and should have to drink once a day at the very most. This means players will have to refill their water bottle at a pump or a pond and not just carry a lot of cans. We should have different factors affect the rate at which hunger increases. Cold should make hunger increase more as well as running. We should only have to eat once on a less active day. (5) Have the ability to customise your civilian clothing in the beginning. Civilian clothing is the same for everybody and, to be honest, I don't think that everybody in Chernarus dressed the exact same way. I think we should be able to edit our civilian clothing when we create our characters, even if it is just a choice between a few colours and pieces of clothing. Not only does this help you feel more attached to your character but it can be used by clans and groups to identify each other. If my friend likes to wear all pink clothing and I see someone in all pink clothing then, chances are, it is going to be my friend. Also, hats.

Great news!! "All vehicles locations will be reset after server restarts. This is required to implement respawning." Does this mean all vehicles found and repaired and not found and not repaired will be reset. So hoarded vehicles placed off the map somewhere will go back into the available pool on the game map? -
So far I've found at least 1 vehicle every day for the past week. Best days 4 vehicles, mostly in separate locations. Note: I've found 13 stationary vehicles, and seen over 20 vehicles. Within the past 3 weeks. I've NEVER found a vehicle that has spawned at a spawn location. All these vehicles have been player moved. You have to understand the mentality these people follow. The norther you are, the less people there are, the safer the vehicle will be. Go north. Look at the map. Roam. You'll find at least one every day. You wont find many south, even though that has happened as well.

Heh, look at devheaven dude. Allready stated from the dev team it will be changed :) Source - https://dev-heaven.net/issues/32587 Thanks for being uninformed though PS!! If you start now you might be able to move ALL the stuff you hoarded and the vehicles before the change comes and destroyes everything ;) PSS!! Sour about all that hoarded stuff your about too loose ;) ;)

Hey Guys, If you are not having vehicles spawn, then your ID is most likely above 1000. IDs above 1000 will be getting vehicles soon :) Johnny

Trapezoidal Cavalry (MISC) vs Pyramid Infantry

I can't stand asshole admins like this. ONE instance of this and Rocket should take the server down. They hide all the vehicles off the map and then restart the server when someone finds them? Fuckin' pussies. -
After about a week of downtime, =HA= have switched server hosts and are back in action. Our new server is much faster, and now possesses vehicles! We apologize to our donators and regulars for our seven day absence, and are returning the favor with our new VIP programme! Keep an eye on our TwitterFeed/Forums for future updates and news! http://www.heavilyarmedclan.com

It works on other players even, and working vehicles.

Source or definitive evidence of this? I have heard that devs must manually "roll out" another round of vehicles to cause them to respawn. Also' date=' the pick-up truck I blew up on my server hasn't reappeared in like 5 days. [/quote'] Found a flipped 4wheeler outside Chernogorsk, and a broken bicycle that didnt work (I also passed out due to low blood when I first sat on it :D) outside elektroz. In the last week alone I've gotten my hands on and kept/had stolen/ or destroyed a S1203 Van, GAZ, 3 Motorcycles, V3S, a Ural, and god knows how many bicycles we've found while traveling. This has only been across 2 servers since we try not to server hop a lot, specifically when we have vehicles. As for that flipped 4 wheeler and that bike....Dallas 1? Europe only ;o

I have never once had a hacker kill me, explode me, or toss me into the air like the other players report. I guess it's just an unluckly fluke on a server every now and then.. So.. Play if you want to or stay off the servers until it's in Beta. Remember this is in Alpha, so expect to lose all of your gear, stats, vehicles, and all the lovely stuff now and again. ;D!
-
I must admit when it comes to finding a server I stay far away from clan-based ones, tired of one group of players hoarding most, if not all, the vehicles. It ruins the game for others a fair bit because they've got no major goal to hit other than survive which becomes so ... very ... laborious.

Obviously, this is too hard for you to understand. WHY WOULD THERE BE A TEN MINUTE DIFFERENCE IN THERE? I understand time zones. You just lack common sense. And really we only posted this because it seemed your attempt to get your vehicles back. I don't really understand how you say a server ALWAYS crashes at the same time and it doesn't crash at that time (8-10 minutes off). And really, if it hadn't crashed RIGHT after we stole the vehicles, I probably wouldn't have posted this. Sorry for the misunderstanding :-/ PS: I ended up killing a guy and his body disappeared immediately too. Not too sure what it is with bodies, must be glitched.

It's just the work of one or two really try-hard script kiddies from TKC. Most of the mod-appers there don't even do anything besides spawning ammo boxes and vehicles. It's the work of one or two twelve year olds with nuke scripts.

I basically bought a PC for this game. Im hardly computer illiterate, I used to be pretty hardcore into operation flashpoint back in the day but I must say, PC's have their own set of problems. It's not all roses when you're tweaking settings, trying squeeze every last extra frame out of your system, even though it should be able to run a game on max settings with no problem. This never happens with console games Not to mention worrying about cooling, etc. Sure, you can get a good gaming pc for 800 bucks, but if you want it to be future proof (more than 1 year) it will require regular upgrades, an AMAZING cooling system, etc. You'll end up spending far more on one 'generation' of gaming then you would in 2 console generations. Also, this idea that console gamers dont want an experience like Arma or DayZ is just laughable. Of course we do. We are begging for it. Just like we are begging for diablo 3, guild wars 2, and minecraft. of course, controlwise a game like arma ii would only be possible console with voice activiation or some sort of keyboard support(simple to do, many console games already have it) but dayZ really doesnt require any special controls other than 'move' and 'shoot'. It's not like you're commanding an army. from a technical standpoint, it's also funny to hear people think dayZ wouldn't run on consoles. My 6 year old PC ran DayZ. I'm pretty sure Ps3 could handle it with some smart coding. it might even be more stable. certainly with less hacking and cheating. Really though, the map itself wouldn't be much of a problem. 50 players, a few shambling zombies, a handful of vehicles and some loot is not too much for a console to handle, even with a big environment like chernarus. It wouldn't take that much reworking. And it'd be a revelation on consoles. Seriously, DayZ as a launch title for the next gen of xbox and ps3's would be simply incredible. -
Just thinking about dropping a key in the grass... >.< painful. But really I was thinking maybe you could just take a wheel off of a car for security, unless you were parked outside of the map :P. Being vehicle-less for a week now has changed my opinion, i will kill you for your car and i will just hide it better next time. These vehicles don't spawn continuously and they don't even respawn at a normal spawn point when they are destroyed, its important for them to be able to circulate and be easy to steal if found. Also it sounds too carebearish for rocket to implement.

some one probably used your vehicles to run down the tents.. .as this causes items to be destoryed
-
I heard US70 is an actively administered server that is manually restarted regularly to maintain tents and vehicles. Just saying.

[GALLERY] Pyramid Infantry - 1st Zed-Slayer Division

It is proven here, which I now re-quote and post: He came all the way across the map on our server to come there and participate. If he was doing something illegitimate he wouldn't have spawned in the wrong place, would he? Is that honestly your response to the direct quotation of your team member saying: "Who the fuck gave me this position? I spawned just right next to the tents.". Bring your whole damn team in here again to explain us how the hell someone can mix up "spawn" with "drive" and not correct himself afterwards? How the hell can someone complain about being too close to the tents, when he drove there himself? You are obviously grown men playing, but the lies and immaturity just shines right through your damn posts and it is pretty obvious that you are above hypocritical in your playing methods. Not once were you seen nor heard driving or discussing driving during your entire video. You are obviously hiding and avoiding getting caught yourself, in your own damn mess and exploits. However, once we move closer towards the truth, all I see is poor replies without explanation and basically avoiding the highly suspicious comment of your team member, followed by useless and immature images and .gif's. In the video you so proudly posted, at 11:10 "Who the fuck gave me this position? I spawned just right next to the tents." is said by your team member, which gives it up. You denying that is as damn sad, as you being grown men sitting behind your monitors with big smiling faces. Posting silly and immature images and .gif's and trying amazingly hard at making other players look bad and insult them. Grouping up on Jonatan. I'm not going to tell you to be ashamed, but it is in all honesty sad. We, personally, are trying to enjoy a game. You enjoy making others look bad in public and wrap the truth up. Grow some balls and a head on those shoulders, and act like grown ups. Not only what you did in game, but also how you reacted will show the true face. It is sad and this whole forum will recognize it. The only thing that comment proves, is that they gave him the location of your camp. If anything, this proves the opposite of what you are claiming, as the guy spawned in a bad position. Also, the video proves this happened after the fight took place, completely rendering the point of spawning near your camp obsolete. The vehicles thing: no proof, no care. Now, back to the actual facts with proof. I haven't seen a single post in here explaining: - the server restart - the nighttime change - the logging off during pvp combat Don't even bother denying it, since all three of these facts are proven in the video. -
Please note that we are now currently no longer recruiting! Hi all After playing this game for a while now I've come to realise that working in groups is much more effective/easier than trying to survive alone. I therefore want to form a group of people that can work together looting, killing and exploring. The long term goal is to eventually get a base setup with tents and vehicles where we can store all our loot. All you need to join is Teamspeak and a mic (obviously). Oh, we also require that you speak English, even if only a little. If you think you're man (or woman) enough to join, reply here or PM me. I'm always online. PM for details of the Teamspeak address and hop on :) Edit: The server we shall be using as our home server has not yet been decided. In terms of group size I have only just started this group so there are only currently 3 people involved (including myself). However, there are many people currently looking for groups to join so I will be recruiting more members over the coming days. Just jump on TS at anytime if you have any further questions or PM me. Looking forward to starting this. Edit 2: We now have about 6 people joining, keep this up guys, we still need more :D

[DayZMod] The Dayz Statistics thread!
Skint (DayZ) replied to Ander (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
There is every reason to go to places in the middle of nowhere: lighting fires so as not to been seen; hunting animals; logging out; pitching tents; hiding vehicles; etc. Nearly all my in-game time is spent as far away as possible from buildings/hotspots and there are many other players who do this. A heatmap is a cumulative map showing data over several days, it's a trend map, not a single moment snapshot, so it will show all the places that players go. -
"Performance and Optimization - Reduction/elimination of the new server lag. This is caused by the ArmA2 server expecting immediate response from the central server. Vehicles are the main cause of this, as whenever they are damaged everything stops while the server ensures this is recorded in the database." http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10353
