vehicles not spawning anymore?
wolfgang784 replied to sakage (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Also we checked all of the spawns that we know of and all of the ones we have heard of nearly every day since. We checked all of the little barns, lone houses in forests and fields, abandoned shacks, the small unmarked towns, and even taken extensive trips through empty forest and fields. Everything on the map has essentially been checked by our group and we have not been able to find anything except for a single Jeep and a single PBX anywhere. Also, the Jeep was gone as well after another restart. We had hoped that the vehicles would reappear after a while thanks to the new patch where you need to drive them or they despawn, but we have had no such luck in finding them. The restart that they were gone after was exactly one week after the patch came out where if you do not drive the vehicles they despawn. It was also, as mentioned, during all of that hive trouble where nearly every server was down. Could it have something to do with that new patch despite all of the vehicle being driven all day every day? Or with the hive trouble? -
*LFG* West Coast - AZ3 - Arizona *LFG*
computer (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I am looking for an organized professional group for the following: Raids on cities and towns, Bandit hunting, surplus raids and random fun. I do not like to grief players and, if given a choice, I would team up and assist players. I do understand that sometimes Kill-On-Site is needed. The better the gear = less trust. I normally play on AZ3 during the evenings Arizona time. Experience: 15 years MMO raiding, Real life- 10 years military experience, land navigation experience. Looking for group with trustworthy solid members with access to ground and air assets. I have gear to match my experience. I utilize current map information to find best gear and vehicles. I also have vent, steam and skype communication. I prefer to interview online voice before meeting in game. I will not have any gear on me on first contact for security purposes. **Please reply on this thread I will check daily** -
Save ATV doesn't mean to rescue it, it means save the location. DayZ tip Number one AVOID any bridges with vehicles, you'll have to wait till the server restarts for any possibility of getting it back.

i host seattle 34 and about a week ago now, we had a camp set up with 6 vehicles. 2 cars, a ural, a motorcycle(my baby), a military offroad and an atv we had just found. i think it had been saturday or sunday, we had been in talks of moving our camp to be less conspicuous and had successfully moved four of them to two of the new camps(we were keeping them separated so less chance of people finding them and what not). this was just after the hive was getting hit hard by the possible ddos attack. the next day i restarted the server as usual in the morning to get the time synched up and clear out corpses and what not. two of the guys who had been at one of the new camps found that all of the vehicles that were there were gone. i logged in at the old camp to see if they had reverted which they hadn't. we ran the driving routes to check there because during the ddos attacks we had been traveling by vehicles and when we came back everytime, they were 2-300m away where the servers had last saved their positions. there wasn't anything. we checked all the major spawns that afternoon where they always had been previously with nothing. not a single car had been spawned anywhere. a few days later is when we find out there was an aussie kid who had been scripting on our server(we had played with him like 2 weeks before, decided we didnt really like him and hadn't heard from him since really, also time zones never really ran into him otherwise). so we set up a sting op and he comes rolling in on an invisible car, what he said was a hilux. he was floating above the ground in a seated position so we can only assume he was telling the truth, but he said he had been doing it for a few days now. the timing works out, is there any possibility of his scripting causing issues with vehicle spawns? he has obviously been banned and we submitted the cheat report that day after we killed him and banned him from the server. if its not him could it be something else? i found a uaz like 2 days ago and we have seen boats, but no bicycles and we havent even heard another vehicle or seen one spawn in the days since. the sheer fact that our vehicles had been spread out over a few kilometers makes me feel like they couldnt have been stolen and no one inside our group would have betrayed us, were all friends irl. so my question is, has anyone else had an issue with vehicle spawns? or this same issue and is there any fix?

Thanks. As for hoarding' date=' well there are many clans that have 10+ vehicles and the fact that new dont spawn 99% of players are left without cars, while clans have tens of them..... [/quote'] Clans =/= admins. The clans cannot realistically remove every car from gameplay. Even if you find just a bike, and you WANT A CAR bad enough, you can take that bike, and just scout the edges of the map. You will find some sort of automobile. My friends have found 3 cars on the edge of the map in about 4 days. Given we have already blown 2 of them up, we still manage to find them, and new cars spawn. They are out there. (I mention a bike because they spawn often, as do ATVs due to them being so fragile and not the best for big clans, as they only hold 1-2 people. You can find one of them with relative ease just by checking a map with spawn points of vehicles and searching for them. http://dayzhq.com/map/) Admins don't do as you describe. Car spawns are slightly-unique to servers (They still have the same 'global' spawns, just I hear some servers dont spawn vehicles in all of those locations). The admin would have to personally memorize where every vehicle spawns, and go to all of those on foot or with another car (would need friends aswell then, so one could get out and drive the other car) to see if any spawned and grab them. It just doesn't happen. IF it does, I'd say just switch servers, simple as that.

Of all the guns and vehicles you took from us, I am most sad to lose my m4a3 holo... I only put it down for an hour since I got the damn thing and took an l85 out and now it's gone....... I will hunt you to the ends of the map to find that gun. .... Lucky for you guys who are apparently horrible shots my brother would not stop the damn jeep and let my ass out when you tried to ambush us.... By the time he let me out you were probably ten km away

Got good stuff...Now what?
ahorseofcourse replied to Jokerr (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Survive. If you have good gear your eligibility for survival is at max, essentially you want to look for vehicles or kill people. Whats that you say? "But horse, i don't want to kill people i want to be a gentleman". Well to that i say; nice guys finish last, and spawn on the coast bitter and without beans. You can try and help people out, but you will eventually run into someone with low level gear that will view you as a mobile treasure chest. If you want to be nice with people, organize with them before you join the game and meet up. You can't trust anyone you don't know in the game, it will always put you at a disadvantage. Remember this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_BfBwyOXJ4. Consider it a reminder. -
Tent Exact Amount of Storage
replied to LeadFinger's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Never tested it in a tent myself, but my clan does it in trucks all the time and it seems to work fine. Example: Guy dies, throw all his stuff into his bag and into the truck, along with anything that won't fit into the bag. Go get him, he reclaims his gear. As tents and vehicles operate on the same inventory system, one would be lead to assume that this method would also work for tents. -
US77 (formerly known as TX1) with added Mumble Server
uglyboy replied to jagmas's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Me again, just reporting that last server reset deleted all the tents and despawned all saved vehicles, fyi -
Some servers experience a bug where upon a restart no vehicles/tents/barbed wire etc spawns in. Doing an in-game mission restart usually fixes this.

Shooting everything you see isn't realistic...

Patience is part of skill. Just as a skilled F1 driver exercises patience in waiting for an opportunity to pass' date=' or a skilled soccer player exercises patience looking for an opening in the goal. [/quote'] Agreed. Patience amongst other things is oftentimes key for success (and for meeting the winning conditions in a competition). Well they are aspects of skill, but they are not measures, since there is no clear way to quantify and compare them individually. That's true. It's not what I do, but it's true. But that's not how I've survived for 18 days and 50+ hours in game. I own ~11 vehicles on two different servers, a network of fully-stocked tents (legitimately found) scattered across the map and well hidden. This takes skill as well - using the terrain and a knowledge of travel behaviors to choose tent locations that are not discovered. I have in my possession one of every gun in the game at his point except for the Camo SVD. I take chances in the game. lots of them. I survive because I play more skillfully than other people. To deny that this game requires skill is just folly. Thats an impressive archievement for sure. For people who strive to not die while accumulating as much gear as fast as possible (which is probably a large part of all players) it can be considered skillful. Still, for someone whose goal it is to run through all cities full servers with a flare at night it might not be that interesting. In the end, it depends on how you personally weigh different aspects of success. There is no formula that would yield a single measure that applies for everyone though. Whatever your goal, you have to be alive to accomplish it. Surviving is the universal goal. If you choose to do that in a boring way, that's okay. It requires less skill than surviving while doing exciting things, but that's your call. Not necessarily. If my goal is to just accumulate as much military gear for some friends in the shortest amount of time I might want to leave everything I have in my vehicles, minimizing my risk of losing anything upon death and just take a chance and run to NWA naked with an axe. A death might put me 15 minutes behind, waiting for reinforcements and executing a carefully planned operation would take way longer though. I'm not saying this is a particularly legit way of roleplaying, but its well within the game rules and mechanics and might even be fun to some. I'm not sure if we talk about the same thing here. A measure of skill is a variable by which skill can be clearly quantified (i.e. "measured"). It think we already agreed that survival time alone is not an appropriate measure of skill. I don't see how such a variable could ever exist, considering there is no winning condition and its a complete sandbox. You'd have to make a measure up, and then it still could always happen that other people don't really care about it, since they think other aspects are more important to them. So you can never really conclude that someone sucks unless you know his exact objectives. In the end, I'd say the most "success" to be had from this game is experiencing exciting situations. Thats where this game really shines IMO. -
The definitive VEHICLE SPAWNS thread
replied to MR DELICIOUS's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I assume you mean the Luxury SUV. Is so' date=' then to the extent of my knowledge, it is not currently in the game. The Vehicles & Repair guide on this forum mentions that it, along with the Little Bird and Mi-17 Civ. Helicopters, were available in-game during the pre-alpha, bue are not currently available in-game. [hr'] ESP hacks are cheats that allow people to see the locations of everything on the map if they so desire. Tents, Vehicles, Weapons, Players, all togglable and adjustable for distance. Therefore, if someone where running an ESP hack, they could filter only for vehicles, set the distance to cover the entire map and it would give them the location of every vehicle in game. As a result the only way of hiding vehicles with even a small chance that they won't be found by hackers is that you have to drive them far off the map and hope that either their ESP hacks aren't set to or able to reach that far out or that the large distance that the hacker would have to cover to reach them will result in him simply picking an easier target. Hackers ruin the game for everyone, high end clans to noobs. -

Justification for our group tactic: *Sniper team: LR support (before operation starts, check surrounding woods for enemies.) 1 Sniper w/ DMR -exactly what you think 1 spotter w/ rangefinder, automatic/SD weapon(for close combat)/launcher -spot/range targets, take out vehicles, protect sniper Sniper-"See that guy by the ACT?" Spotter-"Yea, you got about 900m to him" Sniper-"Alright, firing" *bang* Spotter-"Alright, he's down. See those zeds by the door?" Sniper-" What about 'em?" Spotter-"Smoke 2 needs em gone" *bang*...*bang* Sniper-"Done" Infil team: main looters (loot, try and stay undetected) 1 Pointman w/silenced weapon -job is to silently clear the path ahead of zeds/unsuspecting players 1 supporter w/automatic weapon/shotgun -job is to help fend of zeds/players if detected, extra firepower Support team: Backup (Come to rescue Infil team if large groups of zeds/small group of players are alerted) 1 heavy w/M240, launcher -take out large crowds or vehicles 1 medic w/ AR -extra gun, carries medical supplies to heal injured teammates. Heli team: (extra support/rescue for when shit hits the fan:huge zombie hordes, large enemy group, etc.) 1 pilot w/ basic weaponry -pilots the chopper 2 door gunners w/ basic weaponry -fire door guns to defend chopper/support ground troops. With this configuration, an attacking force, be it zed or human, can only injure/kill 1-2 of us before we are alerted to their presence.

Hide in the woods no? THAAAT hard to realize it ? Hide in the woods AND NOT 20km off the map, no? THAAAT hard to realize it ? Hiding vehicles WAY off the edge of the map is almost a necessity at this point due to all the douche-nozzles using ESP hacks to find everyone's camps. Until BattlEye actually does something other than provide a false sense of security, I don't see why people shouldn't be allowed to keep vehicles off the map. -
We raided a camp that had multiple vehicles stored. We died shortly after but it was great fun.

Patience is part of skill. Just as a skilled F1 driver exercises patience in waiting for an opportunity to pass' date=' or a skilled soccer player exercises patience looking for an opening in the goal. Other measures of skill are tactics, communication, an understanding of your weapon, good aim, knowledge of the terrain and an intuitive understanding of human behavior to predict your opponent's actions before they occur. That's true. It's not what I do, but it's true. But that's not how I've survived for 18 days and 50+ hours in game. How to tell when a new server comes up?

Shooting everything you see isn't realistic...
perestain replied to MperorM's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Guess what' date=' these threads will continue, if you are able to think logically even for a slightest bit, you would understand why. [/quote'] Oh this is wonderful. First of all just because you are going to bitch about something because you suck at arma two and cant seem to kill someone with your little axe because thats all you find that isnt our problem. Dont come to forums to bitch about it. He has a point though, if you want to go for a realistic experience, the deathmatching is bullshit. As is the circumventing of permadeath with tents and/or vehicles. It all depends on what you like the game to deliver in the end. Besides, there is no way to suck at dayZ, since there is little skill involved. You only need to get used to the controls and be patient enough to avoid risks and you can get everything you want. Its great though, since I finally have something to play with my RL friends who would never put in the practice time needed for competitive gaming. The controls are glitched in a way that real competition would be hardly possible anyway. You'll probably rather see Angry Birds played at WCG before they even think about picking up Dayz or Arma. It's only bullshit because you call it deathmatching. That's fine if you see it that way, but it's not anything like a deathmatch. It's about survival, not score. If I kill you, you won't kill me, thus i've increased my chances of survival. It's very simple logic. Not killing you drastically increases my chances of dying to you. Killing you reduces that chance to %0. Deathmatching in other games is not necessarily about the score either, it can be played for fun, or for warmup. In CS i even unbind the scoreboard in deathmatch, so scores won't distract me from practicing properly. Your logic of killing just to survive doesn't work out completely either, because if you kill me I can respawn, grab an M16 from my tent and/or tell my friends to hunt you down. So killing someone doesn't always lower the chance to get killed, it may aswell increase it. Avoiding any contact is obviously the best way to survive, and it could easily be done by anyone, but its dead boring to most, thats why people prefer to play deathmatch style instead. -
It depends. If you parked your car in cherno and that car wasn't originally from cherno then a car from cherno could spawn anytime. But if you have that car running and saved then only when that car gets destroyed or left alone for seven days then dose a new vehicle spawns I don't have an exact time frame. Now as for you saying us server admins are hording vehicles and everything with our friends. You sir a pathetic waste of time who that the fact that i wasted my time to help should tell you something about server admins now shouldn't?
-
Ehm... I've heard this talk about hacked vehicles, how do I tell if a vehicle is hacked? Also, are admins able to see where I stow away a vehicle? As I was told admins help their friends get vehicles -.- and I don't want mine stolen... if i do get one.

cars dissapear when hive didnt start proparly. tents + vehicles dissapear and the server need a second restart. so I guess your car when the server have been restarted.
