I've been asked to add more details, so here I am. I'm a friend of "Jemoeder" (lol cobra) and today we raided a camp with a group of four friends. Cobra managed to get coordinates from a camp that appears to be the camp of [soH]. After we received the coordinates from cobra we calculated the distance from our position to their camp to decide if it's worth to check it out. We decided to go for it and ran 5 km to 020 977, we spotted 3 vehicles a V36, UAZ, BUS so we waited till we had enough courage to check the gear. 10-15 minutes later two of us with assault weapons checked the gear and moved 2 vehicles 1000 meters north. Nothing wrong there. Nelis managed to trick them on TeamSpeak by saying he found their camp by coincidence and was in need of food. They don't want their camp to get raided by one person if they can keep him friendly or perhaps they tried to trick him and had the intention to kill him after they meet up. Not knowing that Nelis had 3 friends with him waiting for them to drive over that hill. After a while a S1203 came over that hill and we opened fire with two snipers (AS50) and two players with a Mk 48. With the element of surprise and 4 bad ass weapons you understand that they had no chance against us. Auto restart ? everything is possible so we carried on. We lost the gear that we looted from their body's so we moved on to the vehicles and moved everything we wanted to the truck and jeep. We went back to a safer place with the truck and jeep and before we approached our destination point we lost connection again, no biggy but for mysterious reasons tree of us spawned 5 km back to their camp. http://www.imagebam.com/image/9edf3f199919021 Nelis was close to the truck so we still had most of the gear. We are not sure if these restarts happened randomly but we know these kind of mysterious things happens more often in this server which is also the reason we decided to find another favorite server. We posting this information on the forum with the hope other players get aware and decide for them self if they take the risk to play in NL 4 the admin(s) were obviously frustrated, which is normal if your camp had got raided, but to question my friends legitimacy is a outrage http://www.imagebam.com/image/0bc5f4199918995

I think they wiped all vehicles, I'm missing 2 V3S, 4 ATVs, 2 PBXs. And they were all on different servers.

So here's the deal, I was chilling on De #32 and found a perfectly good helicopter, repaired the main rotor array and whoopdidoo the sucker took off to the sky with me piloting it. I park it way far far away from any cities, in broad daylight, nothing in the vecinity that could ruin the day. Log off for about 10-20 min and suddenly it's pitch black and my helicopter is no where to be found. With me trapped in the middle of nowhere ofcourse. The thing I do wish to ask, after several minutes trying different searches for "helictopers" "save" "vehicles" etc. etc. and didn't find a good answer to my question I state it here: Now I seriously doubt the vehicle got hijacked due to well, it doesn't get dark in the game in 10-20min from broad daylight right? So the real question should be, do vehicles get saved and how the hells do that work? I think mine despawned and spawned somewhere else due to what might have been a possible server reset. Any help is apprechiated, Thanks in advance.

Found an ATV, had a TON of gear, started driving it. It went sideways, I said "Ok, im fine, it'll hopefully get back on all 4s" it SLOWLY rolled on top of me and I died. How is that realistic in any possible sense? Seriously. These characters are FAR too fragile.

Found 2 servers today with vehicles, one had an ural and a white pickup, the other had a ural. keep searching they are out there. Just a hint, the loot maps out there don't have all the spawn locations. There are some other locations with vehicles at them. -
Which area exactly is considered offmap (for vehicles/tents) on the in-game map? Is it where the forest coloring ends outside of coods 0,0? I noticed a few of the interactive online maps seem to be missing a bit of the northern portion. So im a little confused about where it is safe to set up camp. Lost 2 parked, saved, vehicles, which im sure were on-map, after a suspicious "kicked message" from the server. When i had logged back in a few mins later the time of day had drastically changed to night and i couldn't seem to find the vehicles anywhere. This may be a server restarting issue, but i wanna make sure its not something I caused to happen myself as it seemed kinda strange and have noticed a bit of strange player/admin activity on the server lately.

Since the DDOSing issues yesterday there have not been any vehicles on any server. All of the ones that people already had vanished and never respawned, and the previously destroyed ones did not repsawn either. So I was wondering if it is 100% every single server or if there are some left that still happen to have vehicles spawning. I do not enjoy playing a walking simulator and would much prefer to be able to find anything at all, even if it is missing every single part. So, does anyone feel like divulging the name of any such servers that may or may not exist? -
cheers everyone! thanks for your tips. but yeah, i have no idea how to tackle zombie agro else than pressing disconnect sadly. i have so far found 3 vehicles, a backpack but yet not a single weapon. any idea how to handle such situations?

Vital Things Missing from the DayZ Apocalypse as of 1.7.1.5 Gut Animal function for dead survivors - could have unique dialog like "Gut Ex-Survivor" in case the spiritual want to feel special during an apocalypse. Without this option shooting humans is a huge waste of ammo, but then the mod currently supplies far too much weaponry so it's not so much of a waste yet (see next missing thing). Heavily protected ammo spawns for upper tier weapons including sniper rifles, as in surrounded by massive hordes of infected. These spawns should 100% require ammo expenditure in order to gain, your skill and luck determines if you come out ahead (or dead) and not your ability to run endlessly to the northern rim. Centralized locations that everyone can access where the best weapons and ammo spawn, not in the furthest northern corners of the map where you physically cannot go as a new spawn without making an hour trek on foot. Scarier is the fellow with nothing but a hatchet and some real needs than some kid snuggling his sniper rifle in a bush sitting on a stockpile of gear (does anyone really want it to be this way other than those kids?). Server-hopper warning system. When someone spawns in, have them announced with a flatulent explosion or some other noise that aggro's infected on the level of the Enfield. "Hi I'm server hopping to take your loot that you just scouted for 10 minutes! Wait the whole town isn't supposed to be chasing me, this is supposed to be free loot and murders 24/7!" Chaos for all and not just the people playing DayZ as a survival sim. This idea of clans and camps and tent cities and people building bases and circle-jerking off the map is the stuff of WoW and other facebook/social apps and elderly-friendly games. The people who hoarded a bunch of gear and stashed it in the middle of nowhere should be no safer than the fellow with the hatchet running through Cherno. This means: roaming infected hordes in perma-sprint mode hordes that can detect far off camps infected capable of ravaging camps and destroying supplies infected that can quickly dismantle vehicles and their owners moving or not random wall-hacking infected, they were way scarier than the current breed infected that focus targets instead of easily splitting aggro infected that "call for help" across towns and not just screaming at the nearby ones random infected that never lose aggro infected that devour livestock infected that randomly come back to life random infected that won't die no matter what you do to them fire - lots and lots of fire plagues rancid food contaminated lakes chemical leaks from retired machinery bears, hungry bears with thick hide (what does an eastern euro fear more?) rabid dogs and dog packs that are much smarter and faster than infected vehicles that randomly break down without reason rain storms that last for days that cause pneumonia heat waves that accelerate dehydration illness that causes dehydration disease that causes blindness or loss of eyesight requiring corrective glasses exhaustion that requires unburdening of gear in order to maintain movement speed broken arms that have an effect hallucinations that cause survivors to look like infected, and vice-versa and more.... And finally, DayZ needs someone who can decide if the mod is about surviving during a zombie apocalypse or rebuilding after the apocalypse. If it is supposed to be occurring during the apocalypse, then all masturbatory behaviors should be punished severely and any notion of an evolving meta-game should be eradicated immediately (it should play like the first two hours of Fallout 3, the part where you happily welcome any roach meat you get your grubby hands on). If it is about surviving after the apocalypse, a lot more social functions are going to be needed before DayZ ever represents that scenario and that's not what this post is about (aka the post-first-two-hours of Fallout 3 where you shift loot around in your pack and chitchat all day). Please disregard everything above if this is about rebuilding after an apocalypse, and please re-label the mod as such so I don't have to write any more posts. TLDR: Please make DayZ about surviving during an apocalypse, or re-brand it as something like "The Sims: Zombie Edition" with cool emotes like the Macarena and floating hearts over the heads of survivors when they would like to express their friendliness to others. -
No, vehicles are server specific. So any vehicle you find on a server will only exist on that server. They don't transfer like your Character.

Cool, this is pretty much what I ended up doing. I set the tent up at a remote location no one should ever find, dumped some food in there and will return after a restart to see if my beans are still there. Luckily I have a good clan who can evac the AS50/M249 SAW I've been carrying to their vehicles.

Hey! Since the database cleanup today (03/07) it seems most vehicles dissapeard. Altough if i understand the thread regarding the matter (http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=26982) correctly they should reappear when the server is restarted. Is this something that is possible to do soon-ish? :angel: -
My english is not my primary talk. So we are clear on this side. Feedback: Temperature, blood, drink and water icons: They show way to much information what is going on. Animations for everthing is alreays ingame and woud not need any icons from the start. Instead: - Finding termometer for temperature control will enable temperature icon. - Finding water bottle will enable the drink icon. - Finding food woud enable food icon. - Finding the pen woud enable the blood icon. Hearing/seeing icons: These 2 icons coud be removed as they are sandbox breaker. You become to reliable on them and they make surving way to easy. Flashlight: Flashlight shoud attract zombies to the light (Oh... whats this, lemme go check it). Military flashlight on other hand woud attract zombies 50% less when there is light. Animals/wild animals: When you skin them, they remain the same. Skining an animal coud show carcas and atrract a zombie if near. Some of them coud be infected (bite mark cleary showen), so careles player coud get infected. There is to litle to no wild life. Meaning fox, wolf and bear which eat meat, coud have an infection and start attacking you. Zombie perma running after: This is a bit game breaking. Zombie coud follow you to a certain distance and then stop. Extreme noise from helicopter: Zombies from mayor (if heli lands in mayor citie) cities + near fields or small towns shoud be attracted to the sound of the heli. Same with other vehicles which make noise. Same if/when the tank will be added. Suggestions: Pets: I've seen at main menu that there is german shepard. This dog coud be used as your companion in pve/pvp. Dog: - He coud walk, crouch, walk silenty and bark. - When the dog dies, is injured, etc... Same positive/negative effects woud be aplied as by the player. Horses: Adding a horse, mule as mean of going around the world or they carry items. - When the horse dies, is injured, etc... Same positive/negative effects woud be aplied as by the player. I will add more as i remember.

i just got my server up and running, but how do i tell if vehicles are turn on or off? We have found chopper crashes but no vehicles, and i haven't come across anyone driving any as well.

Hopefully in Beta you abandon these resets of fences, tents, vehicles, so forth... It really KILLS the rpg element. So what someone left something out in the middle of nowhere. You have to find it somewhere. You just prefer it to be more predictable? No thank you. We found a Bus in the middle of the woods the other day near the NWAF with all kinds of gear in it. That was 100000000000% more exciting than find something in the same old spawn point. It was night. We had to stalk it. Camp it. Make sure no one was returning from a airfield run. (It's a bus ffs, we figured it was a pretty good size group of folks, more suspense). Traveled for refuel. Then spent 2 hours getting to a place we felt safe about. Hell if anything I would rather see the map sized x4 and tents be able to be removed by anyone. Please GOD don't let this turn into just another shooter. -
Server(s):3 unknown servers, 1 connected to the hive Time(EST): 2:00PM-4:10PM What happened:The broadcaster went to multiple servers, spawning a weapon crate containing every item in DayZ(maybe even more). Later started spawning vehicles in an unknown server. http://www.twitch.tv/apbdoobie Here's the stream, this guy looks moronic enough to actually stream it. Can zombies hurt you inside vehicles? is there a diffrens between open vehicles like dirt bike, atv and closed vechicles like car, jeep etc? can zombies damage the vehicle?

Destroyed vehicles respawned using the simple method (will appear on next server restart). More advanced method will be used later (dynamic locations, inventory, vehicle types etc). Can I get a clearer explanation?

Does anyone know why the last time DayZ got DDOS'd all of the vehicles on our server vanished and have yet to respawn? The server has been restarted dozens of times since we do it often but with no luck. This was the DDOS a few weeks ago, not yesterday. We checked all of the routes we drive on, checked all of the spawns, and then began checking for new spawns. We cannot seem to find any vehicles anywhere except for a single Jeep that didn't vanish and a PBX boat. The Jeep vanished later on another server restart however, and now we have no land vehicles. The server owner made a post about it and I have added my own comments and thoughts to it but nobody seems to have an answer or care to reply so here I am posting here. It is quite frustrating to have none of the vehicles ever respawn and we would very much love a fix. I had hoped that the reset of all destroyed vehicles would fix this but there still seem to be none anywhere. I have checked some other servers and cannot seem to find any either and have also talked to others who had vehicles on the server until the DDOSing yesterday. The server crashed during it, the vehicles were gone on restart, and they have yet to respawn anywhere. I don't mind not having helicopters but having no vehicles at all is terrible. Hopefully a dev notices this and can help out the servers with this issue. We really want our vehicles to respawn again. Here is the thread as well, although it is pretty much just a redo of what I posted here in different words. They're in a vehicle. Vehicles catch fire and explode killing all occupants. So all murderers have to do to be safe is travel around in a bus full of survivors? Foolish. Again, no I don't because none of your retarded idea exists and never will. I'll blow the whole fucking vehicle up and piss on their smoking corpses while I sing the song of my people. -
Hello [again]. At around 22:00 GMT I will be spending 5-7 hours playing Dayz, and I am hoping somebody [of any nationality] will be able to join me & play with me. I would also be fine with 2-3 people joining, but as long as i'm not alone, I am happy. I have formed groups like this before, and they generally work out well. If I get only one person with similar interests to mine, then we'll just go with the flow... If we get multiple, we'll all group up, find vehicles & generally explore together. I'm this kind of player; I don't like bug exploits, hacks, abuse, or... 'Disconnecting cuz shit is ard'. I think that removes the whole point of the game, and dragging your downed team-mate through a maze of zombies whilst 2 others are shooting in taking them out, just so he doesn't bleed to death due to unconsciousness... Yes. Risky. Fun. Very. I am quite open minded & generally fine with every thing, I have quite decent gear & so don't exactly want to be charging head first in to players, but i'm very happy to engage players if it comes to it. If you are planning on playing tonight from 22;00 GMT - ISH - Please let me know, regardless of what type of player you are, I don't want to travel the forests / cities alone, i'm cold. Last adventure I had with other players was extremely entertaining, and I now have many stories that my children will hear about. Also sidenote; maturity would be a lovely addition. Despite your style of game play, as stated, I simply don't want to play a lone tonight, so feel free to get in touch. Happy to side with any body, providing we can have a decent time.

I've been shooting anyone I see that isn't my friend in TS and killing them for quite some time. In fact, I hunt players. So... I don't think you're a rarity. Why do I do it? Because it's alpha. Because it's not a real game yet and things change constantly and are always being fixed. Because that gun you have now you can lose to bugs/hackers/anything. That's why. Do I want to work with others in a survivor situation? Hell yeah it's far more fun. The game isn't ready yet or balanced enough to make it mean anything at this point though. So I get gear... and at this point I've had vehicles... any gear I can think of for the most part. and I simply just kill other players for fun. That's about it. Everyone else will do the same when you realize you've gotten what you need.. and the next step is... well.. hunting players for sport.
