  1. Anyone got map where you can refuel your vehicles? I know those refueling spots look like long big round tanks. Zelenogorsk has atleast one such place next to gas station, but most other gas stations i have visited has been missing those. So looking for advice where to look em so can plan our sunday car trips to nice picnic spots better when it comes to refilling our jerrys and cars. Image of Zelenogorsk refueling spot, those big round white tanks on background. ps. please stop vehicle hoarding off-the-map so people get to have more fun with vehicles rather than just small groups hoarding em all in unreachable spots.
  2. I have a little question... I made a camp, on a place(Im sorry, but I won't tell the exact location) that is nearby this "zone" you meant, but isn't inside of it, while with the map switched on, I can see myself and my fellow survivors marked on it. But when it comes to internet maps, some of them don't show this zone Im in as part of the map, but it has vegetation(trees, animals, etc). Should I take all my stuff and vehicles outta there(if I still have time)? Or no need to worry about? P.S.: Im no crazy to put a camp outside the map... 2 reasons: hard to find, even for me; and it's kinda frustrating to die by starvation before reach your camp and don't to get your stuff, since Im a lone wolf.

    New Gameplay Concepts

New Items: -Walkie Talkies/Radio- A player could get a pair of walkies to share with a friend. They could be tuned to a custom channel, much like real talkies so that players could split up and be able to communicate without the immersion breaking use of Skype. Once two talkies are in synch, a player could drop one in a room and go hide on a hill with a sniper, calling for help through the talkie. The game would make the sound source at the dropped talkie so the player could set up an ambush. Players would have to turn the talkie off when in zombie infested territory to avoid the extra noise, but would also be deprived of communication. This could set up the beautiful scenario in which two players split up and they suddenly lose contact. One of them would be horrified at what could have happened. Did his partner die, and can no longer communicate, or did he just turn it off? Then a new voice comes over the talkie: "We got that noob." Bandits killed his friend then taunted him through the radio. Even better, the bandits could take the other player hostage, only turning him lose if they come in for negotiation. Radios would work in the same way, only that they would be much longer distance and stationary. Imagine, a few players riding in a vehicle when the radio picks up a signal from a radio station. Some others are trapped in the station with dwindling supplies and a horde of zombies outside. Or maybe a couple of players could play music files over the radio until someone gets tired of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" and shoots up the station. -Blankets/Sheets- Comes in different colors. When in use, the player is slowed. It can be used as a makeshift camouflage and will slowly increase the player's body temperature. Can be used to avoid infection and to stave off cold. Using during the day time could cause heatstroke. *see heatstroke entry* Using the blanket on a doorway or window will block it. It would not stop bullets or anyone from entering but would effectively block the sight of passing zombies and bandits. Sheets do the same except warm less efficiently and weigh less. -Siphon Pump- Allows players to siphon fuel from vehicles. A viable alternative to approaching a gas station. Also allows for exciting moments when a friend is distracting an enemy group while you drain their tanks so you both can get away safely. -Climbing Gear- *SEE TREE CLIMBING ENTRY* Allows players to climb trees much faster than normal -Plants- *SEE HERBAL THERAPY ENTRY* Traps: -Tripwire- Each unit is 4m long. Players that run through it will fall and take a small amount of damage. Walking will allow one to bypass the tripwire. Zombies will always trip. Can be set up across doorways or on open ground. Anyone who looks directly at it will be given a prompt to disarm. Excellent for defending buildings. Can combine with grenades for a Grenade Trap. -Beartrap- Heavy, will break the bones of anyone unfortunate enough to step on it. East to spot, although hard to see in tall grass. Caught players can free themselves by pulling the release latch and crawling away. Will pop the tire of any vehicle that runs it over. -Mines- Anti-vehicle and anti-personal, incredibly rare and deadly. If something steps or drives over it, it will explode, doing massive damage. Disarm-able, but risky to do so, I recommend having a realistic little disarmament mini-game. Nothing too hard, just so that people will panic if they are disarming during a firefight or zombie horde. If they fail, then BOOM! -Grenade Trap- If a player looks at a tripwire with a grenade in their inventory, they will be given the option to set up a grenade trap. It works the same as a tripwire trap, only that it will arm the grenade when tripped. Walking players will not trigger it, but a running player will be in trouble. Concepts: -Traps- Well, I think it could be a good tool for the sneakier players. -Tree Climbing- Think about it, panicking and sprinting for the treeline while being chased by a horde of zombies. Hiding in the tree, taking potshots at the growing group. Zombies can't climb, but you'd be a sitting duck for anyone with a gun. Bandits could also light the tree on fire and watch the player squirm as they weigh their options. -Heatstroke- We have penalties for low body temperature, so why not high? Sprinting in a ghilie suit on a hot summer day cross country should make them pass out pretty quickly. -Herbal Therapy- This is a big one, but how about making herbal medicine? Some plants would be good for painkillers, some would help fight infection. Use real plants so that smart players would have the advantage. Have some deadly ones mixed in like Hemlock. That way, a smart player will be using St. John's Wort and the idiots will be nibbling on Hemlock.
  4. Finally the vehicles won't be hidden from everyone in these bugged zones.
  5. I was the one who first reported it, he was in a group of about four people who were teleporting and placing all of the vehicles on the map off of the region. They teleported in front of us, killed a few of us.. we ended up killing a few in the process. They then got into our vehicles and teleported off somewhere. Previously a group of hackers had been banned due to doing the same thing, and the vehicles were located in the same spot on the edge of the border when we went there later. Most of them are actually still there and completely empty if screenshot proof would help, but no, none of us we recording the 'split second it happened' It was blatant, and you were one of the people involved. Deny it all you want but the rest of your buddies didn't show up here and complain after they were blatantly doing things like that. Names were taken from death and kill reports, as well as those who didn't die and alt+f4'd to lose connection. There were four others with me who I'm sure would be happy to post about it, especially those who died. Is there a video of you doing it to give 100% proof? Nope, but there's common sense I believe in determining these things and you're the first out of a dozen obvious cheaters who has posted here. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=26110 Pretty much sums it up. Sorry, but having 100+ hours of work ruined by people isn't cool, especially when they're just doing it to grief. Maybe you were just 'randomly' involved with this group of people or were 'randomly' off the map that far out of coincidence, who knows. Either way, sorry but it's fair in my book. Oh and I would like to point out that those people we banned kept coming back with spoofed ID's and had to be banned about a dozen more times, then by IP.
  6. Just like the above poster said, it seems that they are removing tents and vehicles from outside of the map (debug zone). Personally I'm glad they're doing this, hoarding will be much harder now.

    are tents still getting wiped?

Tents and vehicles outside the map border are getting wiped tomorrow from what I've read the tents and vehicles within the map border I don't believe they will be touched

    Removing stuff off-map

Only one flaw with instanty stopping saving at the map border. Example: players a and b go to the map edge. Player a steps outside the map, player b kills him, loots him. Player a respawns at his last spot on the map edge. Player b then walks back across the map border and saves with his gear, effectively duplicating player a's loot. My proposed fix, disable interactions outside the map some way. Make anything that hits the ground despawn, or transferred loot vanish. Hopefully these would be feasible without disabling driving outside the map to speed around as Vipeax said. We don't want any way to exploit lack of saving. We should squash this potential bug before dupers have time to figure it out. Edit: Another solution, if on foot drop gear at map edge, similar to water, except everything. Then you can pick it back up, no duping, and vehicles render you immune. Just don't exit vehicle in the off grid area, like not exiting a boat on the water.
  9. What do you mean "cmon"? Some of us have set up camps pretty deep into the wilderness and have yet to see a map boundary' date=' how would I know that exists out there (besides, perhaps, checking the in-game map, but can't do so right now)? But I'm glad to know my tents are safe. [/quote'] Well i would say most people who have vehicles and tent stashes and have been playing the game for longer than a week have looked at quite a few maps and know where the edges are. You would know yourself how easy it is to pinpoint where you are by roads, ponds towns etc. Thus you would know when you are off map.

Out of bounds item/vehicles cleanup [2012-07-06]

Since obviously most of you don't play the game as much as I do ( did waiting on replacement parts ) you had time to post on the forums. So lets rant shall we? Since you will ignore my points anyways, why should I resist but spurt random information which isn't pertinent to the point. Raise your pitch forks all you want, I'm happily loving my good gear and my back-up gear sitting in my tents. So since I won't need to target anyone because you spend some much time on the forums I won't quote. Here I go! Ok so you scream foul at the players who put stuff outside the map. To you sir I ask, How big is your group? Because I play with about 20+, we have a hard time trusting each other as a matter a fact. But you spend to much time on the forums to know that. To you who say ESP is annoying but stashing vehicles off the map is bad. Nuke why take all vehicles? No, I've learned the hard way that vehicles aren't yours, they are assets which you use but eventually someone else will get it. We a group of 20+ have lost all our vehicles so many times, and BTW we play on 1 server which as well BTW isn't run by us. WHILE we're at it, does targeting the admins shame on you. --- Stalk the server admin all you want he WON'T tip in our favor because that is LAME. When I realized how little the admins could do I stopped thinking about the things they can do to MINGE. If thats all your worried about then you are miss guided. Hackers can roam and do as they please, but admins need to spend time analyzing numbers to make 1 small ban that any tool can get past. Admins are your friends, because really they spend so much time cleaning up DayZ. ( Ok mabe not all of them are nice but the admins I know spend more time cleaning their servers then playing. ) --- I'm actually against the idea of keys, cars are fine as is and I do not mind the out of map reset. Round of applause, now if someone steal our off-road we know a search party will be able to find it. Unlike before. Everyone who is PRO keys are the minges you seek to destroy. All my gear is legit. So why do you hate us big groups so much? My group WAS planning to go to the coast and give out Aks and M16 in exchange for food just as a community thing. But no us big group, we BAD because we are walking barracks. We're on 24/7, hardly on the forums because YEAH WE PLAY THE GAME, we do not forum monger. Come kill us we do not care, we have good loot. Its to your advantage to find and attack big group as we can get good loot making it better for you to want to attack us. Oh but heads up we aren't in cherno. Oh but yeah F the big groups, they have so much fun not messing around in cherno, shame on them. We have some much inter-group relations, we love having firefights with a new group, it excites us to see other groups basing here because it mean we got to watch our backs.BUT guess what!!!!! You've never felt that because... YOUR ON THE FORUMS ALL DAY. All day long you post on the forums, when ever I read posts to people in-game they lol at the stupid complaints made here. Its seriously where the hardcore DayZ players avoid. Just because we spend a lot of time playing this game doesn't mean some hacker or random kids should be able to ruin our game because they are stuck in cherno and cry all day on the forums because they don't understand the fact that the game lie in groups, raids and stock piling. Funny its like you all don't understand why I'm so upset? Oh it because there is so much a hacker can do and so little an admin can do to stop them. Battle eye sucks. And you know what? I don't care. I'm going to play the game, but I won't cry like you kids about other people being better or having an advantage over you. You still think this is about tents and out side the map? ha, your funny. Hackers be damned. ~Nuke NOTE: The onslaught to follow will be well worth the essay above
  11. Aaaand 7 hours later WoRtEx Claus is back here with a nice little present for the community :) Over 24 hours up but totally worth it. I now have a new version to release (again). Sorry for the quick updates but I suppose it's not that tasking to let your phones and tablets update it automatically :) This is the version 1.50 of the app and it was uploaded to Google Play store about five minutes ago. If you update your app straight away you might not get this version yet. Wait a couple of hours for Google Play to get it up. DayZ Mobile for Android Or if you can't install from there, here's a straight download link for the .apk. I have now integrated all the basic data of DayZ that one needs to check up at times: Weapons, Vehicles, Ammunition, Equipment and Consumables. I have also implemented a Sniper Correction feature as requested by myselph33. I also set up a Google Analytics api for the app so it collects anonymous data of what you do with the app. This way I can focus bettering the areas of the app you use the most. Running out of things to implement. I guess I'll focus on redesigning the UI as it has got a lot of negative feedback. Also, the new UI shall be made to work perfectly with tablets. Here are some pictures of this update (1.50):

    ADMIN ABUSE Atlanta 39

Constantly restarts the server to dupe items, accuses others of attempting to 'dupe their bodies' ... whatever that means - like I'm trying to get an extra painkillers? whatever ... Cheats and snipes people on the beach, wipes vehicles, restarts the server if you start shooting at him If there were any justice in the world his server would be taken offline, it's a black mark on this community. He is VERY OBVIOUSLY CHEATING.

    Hackers On US23

No, we found L85 thermal at a crash site. And no we don't have "extras" because nobody liked the SVD so nobody carried it. It's that simple. Rarity doesn't equal utility necessarily. Secondly, we did use the L85 before but the zoom is very high and the knockdown power of the round is very low at range so our snipers prefer the .50 cals. We never said we found an L85 at the barracks. So where do you get the idea that we said we found an L85 at the barracks. Review this thread and you will see nobody said it, but you have lied once again to smear us. You accused us of spawning an SVD, and I addressed that accusation by informing you it spawned in the barracks (you actually thought it was impossible to have in the first place - the more you type, the stupider you look). Is that such a far fetched idea to you? Have the admin look into the logs. You'll only end up with egg on your face. The more you nit pick ton justify your outrage at losing vehicles, the more you look foolish. Have the admin check the ID number on the weapons. Have them check for scripts. I invite it if it will shut your ridiculous trap and let your butt hurtness heal. And dude, 500+ hours AT the barracks? Your exaggerations only reveal that you are full of shit and lie to attempt to smear other players because you think they might be hacking because you can't wrap your thin skull around the concept that it's possible that someone found your camp spot on the top of the hill at the NW corner - a stupid spot for a camp might I add. Also, just because you have never found one of these weapons doesn't mean nobody else has. As far as the "rare" weapons in the trucks... those were the weapons that were in the trucks when we stole them from you! What the hell does that say about you if you think they were duped. Are you mental or just a pathological liar that believes the shit you shovel? When no evidence is found to support your accusations, I would expect you to act like a man and come back to this thread and apologize to myself, and my buddies. If not, it just further reveals your lack of maturity and your false sense of righteous indignation. Oh, and before I forget. When we stole your trucks we found four M4 CCO SD camoflague rifles in there. Wow, those are pretty rare. Why would they be in your truck and not on your person? Sounds to me like these were "extras" and you were duping them. When we snagged your VS3, it has two M4 Holo SDs which are just as rare as the SVD. Were these your "extras" as well that you had duped? I think so. The trucks had one copy of every other gun in there - just in case you wanted to dupe a copy of a specific weapon. You guys are dirty as the day is long, and you have the balls to come here with a load of malarcky aimed at us because you are upset that we found your camp twice (which was in the same spot within a week apart - absolutely genius). What you seem to be doing is accusing us of the things that you are doing. It's a guilt defense mechanism called projecting. Google it if you don't know what the hell it is. And check your own self before accusing others of false activity.

    How to find a Vehicle?

My clan has found and fixed many vehicles. We have also lost most of them when all of us where logged out(and 1 spectacular crash from a m107 sniper). Anyone that finds a vehicle can drive it off, so finding good spots to hide them is essential. (WE DO NOT HIDE THEM OFF MAP!). The bicycle/ATV/off road truck are great for looking for more vehicles. But like everything in this game, don't get attached to your pixels. And the ATV flips over very easy, so watch yourself if driving one.... The save vehicle feature only helps if the server crashes, any player that moves a vehicle, it stays where they got out. And ridding in a vehicle that crashes(or has a front wheel shot out) can kill you, at the least you will be broken and bleeding.

    Heli's.. Is it legit?

Has the server you have the helicopter on been reset? If it has and its still there it is most likely legit. Spawned vehicles and ammo boxes get destroyed when a server is reset as they are bound to the player and not the actual server.
  16. If you have a GPS your map co-ords are there, you can clearly see what's "in bounds / out of bounds" When i ran off grid (went the wrong way from kamenka spawn. Derp) there was a very obvious "end" of the map. Road stopped, trees stopped. I'm guessing the same goes for the northern most point of the map also. I could be wrong, it would make sense that there was a little overspill of forest etc, just so it looks right. If this is the case, then i see some real tears inc with legit players thinking they were safe. Perhaps the devs could have a message for vehicles leaving the area. I'm not saying "DEATH IN X-SECONDS!" just a "You're now off grid" or something. Same goes for tent placement.
  17. quinn for me i want heli's so bad q.q anyone know when rockets gonna fix the stupid vehicles despawn when there's a update or server restart ?

    Database cleanup [2012-07-03]

Can you just remove all helis? Only after that ppl will stop worries about huey's radar and will start saving own vehicles on the map.
  19. Vehicles started spawning tonight. Had some fun! We got rocked stealing some dude's bus lol.

Out of bounds item/vehicles cleanup [2012-07-06]

great, our server isn't saving half of the tents/vehicles properly, so there's a 50% chance my vehicle will still be where I parked it when I drive it all the way back to my parking place (I never save them outside the map but had to pick up a friend today who does). Also that time seems a bit off.......... we parked one car outside the map literally ten minutes before the server restarted, and when it restarted, it was gone. I love that something's finally being done about this though. Maybe this shouldn't be done when half of the servers are losing hive connections every five minutes, causing vehicles/tents to not save at all.
  21. Season 2 opening Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM6FBkJFzW4&list=UUErnHpoBRtK3duzwvJbqzqQ&index=1&feature=plcp Complete 19 episode series 1 Survive or Die Tryin Season 2 follows up on season 1 directly. Season 1 saw us rise from noobism to flying a huey and having 7 or 8 vehicles total including atvs, offroads, pbx's, and of course two choppers in total.
  22. We teamed up with a few guys earlier, went really well - we're now fully geared, just looking for some vehicles to get us around faster :)

Out of bounds item/vehicles cleanup [2012-07-06]

While I agree we should get rid of the out of bounds shit, I think first your priority should be to remove the damn hacks. If it weren't for the ESP hacks, we wouldn't have to go hide outside of the "boundary" would we? No offense what so ever, but I think you guys have your priorities mixed. Get rid of the hacking, then get rid of the tents/vehicles outside. Without the ESP hack, people don't have to go through great lengths to hide shit outside the map.
  24. U.B.C.S. Ravin

I took down a tank and helicopter with my M107.

Helicopter bit might not be bullshitting. Tank bit, most likely. M107 is used for Anti-Vehicles purposes, so him destroying anything with it isn't surprising. I would be disappointed if he DIDN'T blow them up.
  25. About bloody time. Thanks Ander!! @Nuke You say why bash legit players. Parking off the map has never been legit. It's been a cheap way to hoard stuff for the select few. Camps aren't meant to be entirely safe havens either (currently) So as posted before, protect it or perhaps lose it. It's all part of the game. My friends and I have had a few vehicles, ATV's, Scooby Van and a few buses, Not once have we ditched them off the map, we used them. Daily. Had the buses for a long time, until a server ate them, or they were both stolen in a 10 minute time frame (possible!) but that's all part of the game. In DayZ's current form, we aren't meant to be able to stockpile a mass of weapons, vehicles. Nor should we, without fear of waking up to it all being scooped. Welcome to the "real" game, all you off map campers ;) @Dev team Is it possible to have the HIVE detect a passworded server and just refuse to save? This would stop all the clans "TESTING" their servers while they re-acquire their vehicles they just lost and setting up a new camp.
